I have played this game now for 10 years, starting from 2015. I can honestly say, the servers that this game depends on is pathetic trash at best now. This game is a husk of what is use to be. There is absolute 0% consistency when it comes to reliability.

About to win a match in a land slide? Have no worry, Epic Games servers will make sure that you hit a lag spike as soon as the other team is about to score. Going to get that game winner? Nope, EG wants to make sure you cant even handle looking at the goal, much less score it.

Epic Games, you've done everything but ruin an amazing game that has a great community. You've decided money for cosmetics are much more important than efficient servers and modern upgrades. Either release Rocket League 2 or update this game with a significant update. You've failed the player base that you've spent years building. Psyonix is a better developer than you will ever be and it's sad to even see the current state of the game.

Ranking system is an absolute joke whether its in casual or competitive you will never be similarly ranked to your opponents. It's always an absolute shutout game. Ever since the game went free to play on Epic the smurf scene has overpopulated the valid playerbase causing rank disparity forcing players into lower ranks due to the joke of a point system they have for player balancing. This game used to be fun and semi casual but now you either play with players 2 whole ranks above you or below you. It used to be an enjoyable game with friends but is now a super sweat grind fest if you want to actually win anything.

I remember how good the game was when it seemed everyone was learning it. Ever since epic has purchased this game its gone downhill. they took some of the best and new mechanics just for a racing game. Truly sad, I also wish people were more patient again when I come back to try and play a game I loved. everyone is so quick to forfeit now. We used to play until the end of the game even in blowout territory. I just remember the sport this game was now its just whoever has the most hours into practice.

No, the match making is ass. They took trading away, the servers lag and are bullshit. Epic doesnt care about this game nor do they care to fix it. Dog shit fucks

This game has the biggest amount of hepatitis ive ever seen from any Video game company the whole of Epic games should be fucking bombed for making this game so awful

This game can be both a silly game to play around on with friends but can also be a competitive game that feels decently balanced. I finally hit Diamond on 3s, 2s, and 1s and I enjoyed most of it without having to run into too many players that I just thought were unfair. I also play with alot of friends that are very new to the game and it is still tons of fun without having to try my heart out.

As of right now, this game is at a point in time where it's not worth it to get onto it. The skill level has gone up so fast in the last 3-4 years that it's not fun anymore to play ranked unless you got some friends to enjoy your time with.

The idea of this game is really simple and it has a ton of fun in it. But if you try it and get frustrated in the first 2-3 hrs just uninstall and pick something more recent.

Great mechanics, fun idea, but terrible matchmaking and 0 moderating or repercussions for anything ruins the game completely.

afks in tournaments is getting out of control and they not even get punished

game is garbage. i keep trying to improve and the skill based making will make you go insane. cant play ranked cause your teamates leave 1 goal down. absolutely not worth your mental health

Uninstalled after getting 2 bad games with a player, blocking and reporting after the 2nd match and then getting matched again for a 3rd game with same player. tilt should not outweigh the fun. ill spend my time on other games with a less toxic community.

Constantly paired with teammates who don't know how to play or have 3000 ping.

This game sucks. Epic sucks. The community sucks too. If you want to play this game just mute chat and play your game.

the most toxic community. after 800 hours i have spent in this game, i understand that this game don't even enjoyable anymore, and it's so trash to play with little kids who think that they are the best, and when you make 1 mistake they just spamming "Wow", "What a save". this game literally makes no sense to play. so don't play it and spent your life in other games or touch some grass. thanks

It has been that one game that I never get sick of for a very long time. Its very competitive and funny depending on how you want to play. I would highly recommend giving it a try if you have the time and energy to climb the ladder and learn the controls. This is one of the only pc games i would say is chill with a controller.

Worst game ive ever played in my life. Horrible servers. Epic games is horrid and should go back to ruining games like fortnite.

used to be good game till epic games ruined it in the end of 2023, they took away player to player trading and stopped dealing with smurfs, updates feel lack luster becuase we dont get new cars other then item shop or battle passes. all new maps added now are just rekins compared to new maps we used to get

I love playing with my friends they are really good, great fun game to enjoy with friends always keeps the vibes up even when we are trolling. I'm just really bad at the game but I'm Still able to have a lot of fun playing. My Friend BOMBERMAN is always a blast to play with hes ranked Champion, which is really cool. I wish I could be as good as him :)

Fix your severs.. Game been here for 9 years and everyone on West coast still averaging 70 ping.

One of the most competitively viable games on Steam, and for good reason

The last 5 years, nothing truly new has been added to Rocket League, nothing exciting
The Epic Games acquirement of Psyonix has made this game stale
Every battle pass adds more ugly cosmetics that nobody truly uses unless they just purchased the game

I still play it, and I'd recommend it. Just don't expect any innovations to the game any time soon :/

Honestly, after 900+ hours of gameplay, highest rank C2 and this is the most toxic game I've ever played.

The game is really fun, but you have to be ready for afk's, ragequits and a lot of racist comments.

I had this game since 2017 never played it, because if you play this game as solo, you are not gonna enjoy the game as you play with Group. ( personal opinion) very enjoyable game as Group.

I've committed over 3k hours over the course of 8 years on 2 different platforms. It use to be a game with a soul. Something i use to look on and be found of, excited to play and participate in a vibrate community. Now its a Corporate hell hole full of Microtransations, a dead community and dying Pro league. RL is a shell of what it once was. Epic has killed one of my favorite games of all time. For what you might ask? The same thing people kill each other over everyday. Money.

great game but since epic came its less and less great

servers are unreliable, they arbirtrarily remove modes such as dropshot, they don't punish smurfing or other cheating

what used to be a good game is now a game with poor server performance and bugs. The only thing the company is focused on is exploiting every little opportunity to monetize.

I don't know why Steam keeps asking me to review a game they no longer sell, but I'm tired of seeing the notification so here's my review. I guess their persistence worked.

Avoid this game at all costs. You can no longer buy it on Steam, but it is now free to play from a different source. I would advise that you forget that you ever heard of this game and move on with your life. For the right kind of person, this game is video game meth. It will consume your soul and make you question your own existence. It will elevate your anger to levels you never thought possible. You will wish death upon random people that you have never met, just because they were able to use a virtual car to push a virtual ball into a virtual net.

Walk away now, before it's too late.

This is very good game and i would recomend this game to anyone persnaly in=m ssl so i can say getting to the heisgt rank was alot of fun and late night gaming sessions . ANyone that can i would definly tell them to play this game/

Very fun game to play competitively with or against your friends. The game has a lot for customization features for your car, and multiple game modes that play differently at different settings. Also the music in the game changes after updates and the developers always choose absolute bangers.

Has a surprising amount of depth and incredibly rewarding skill progression. I would recommend playing with friends and avoid getting too involved in the community. Feels phenomenal to control as you become more comfortable with the deep mechanics.

I've not found another game like it.

After shelving this game for a year I decided to come back to it to see if it was any better. It is still terrible. With the amount of hours I have in this game I can automatically tell which team is favored to win by the really crappy multiplayer code. I tried to give it some time but there is a reason I put this game down. With all the bloat updates this game received it really can't keep up and it shows. 2016-2019 RL was peak. RL now is just a cash grab from Epic because of their failed business model of a store and service.

it's fun with friends, but the community is the worse that you can find. I've played every competitive game out there, from League of Legends to Valorant and Counter Strike, I have thousands of hours of experience and I've never seen so many angry people on one game. Literally every match in D3 and above (until you hit high GC) is INSANELY toxic. People will afk within SECONDS of a match starting for almost no reason. It's extremely infuriating and epic doesn't care. There's no penalty for griefing, which is the main problem with the game. People can get away with being complete trolls and there's no repercussion. Have I mentioned the servers are awful now?

This game is slowly dying. Like every other game company, they care more about the money they can make off skins rather than improving the player base. it use to be a rare thing to get an afk player in a match but now it is happening far too often to really keep enjoying this game.

this used to be the best game until it has been flooded with microtransactions which has been the same technique used in fortnite by epic games - along with removing trading which has been in the game since the start

Alright, this game is pretty simple: use a contoller. you have gas, brake, jump, boost. with that figure out how to proctect your goal, while trying to make a goal yourself with or without your team lol. then it comes down to learning more advanced techinques to control your car better both on the ground and in the air. YES i ssaid in the AIR. anyway have fun!

There is a learning curve, and eventually you'll get to a level where you think you're good... but then you watch the pro's and are in pure amazement with how they do some of this stuff!

This is truly the only Video Game/eSport I have ever really enjoyed watching others (Pros) play.

Overall this is a fantastic game with a great physics engine! On a negative side note, this game will absolutely chew threw controllers. I have gone through about 10 (actual number, could be higher) xbox controllers because of the stick drift or just straight up brokeness of the left joystick. Would love a company to come out with more durable controllers or have an option to replace just the joystick component. I do say this is a negative for this game specifically, because no other games I play break controllers like Rocket League!
