It's a very good game about a 2 year old having trauma with his mother and father and him and his friend (teddy) try to collect memories in order to escape the trauma that he has gone through
very scary, i pissed my pants
This was a wonderful game. The story was fantastic and the graphics are amazing! I will say there were some glitches, but they were pretty minor, except for one achievement for getting all the drawings in the game, that didn't unlock. I had to go through the whole game again to get all the drawings, but to be fair, it was probably because I had just switched computers while between play sessions. The game play is alright. It's fairly simple, and the real fun comes from hiding from the enemies. I was actually on edge whenever the threat of a monster was around. I'd recommend getting this.
Saw this game played upon release and finally came around to picking it up in 2025 and playing it for myself all these years later finding it is till a great game.
The game has a scary and creepy tone to it but still easily played without needing to change my underwear and play with my headset half on so I know a ghost isn't sneaking up behind me.
Among the Sleep is a horror game with quite a different approach. Not only do you not get to tote any weapons, you're also a toddler, which adds an extra layer of intrigue and difficulty to the gameplay. You're unable to dash away in a sprightly fashion when an enemy spots you, a lot of movement is laboured and you have to time a lot of things pretty darn perfectly to progress.
It makes for a very tense time, and mixed in with the puzzles (that are just the right amount of difficult for my brain) you get a pretty darn good gameplay package.
The story itself is very well put together, with little hints around our little friend's family life scattered throughout the nightmare world we find ourselves in. It's a pretty tragic story all told, and I'd say proceed with some caution on that front, as the real-life horrors discussed in the game outweigh the horrors of the scary things we fight through in the nightmare.
You can scoot through this game in one sitting fairly easily, so if you grab it put an evening aside and get ready for an emotional rollercoaster!
the story hit me really hard, i resonate with it a lot. its more sad than scary once u understand it.
МУКН ПЩЩВ РЩККЩК ПФЬУ!!!
Welcome to the world that bit the dust.
[hr]This game hit me in a way I didn’t expect. Not only am I playing as a toddler searching for mama, exploring weird nightmare locations. It’s totally not a horror game with cheap monster jumpscares. It’s a deeper, more meaningful story that explores serious topics. The horror is more about a child's imagination, something that scares you through the eyes of a child. The game is said to take around 3 hours, but it took me way longer because of the eerie vibes. Still, every minute was worth it. The symbolism in the story plays a huge role if you pay attention to the big picture, collecting doodles, and especially the little details. My favorite was the painting, such a touching and subtle way for a hint.
The gameplay interaction is simple if you’ve played Amnesia or Layers of Fear, but no combat system, just a simple walking simulator and hide from the monsters/entities. Trust me, it's not as difficult as Amnesia. I was surprised that the child can pull and push heavy objects like chairs and boxes, and crawling actually feels faster than running. And it's an immersive experience that the child would trip if running for too long. The developers clearly put a lot of thought into making the movement, mechanics, and animations feel realistic. from a child’s perspective. (Well, maybe not the heavy object part, hehe.)
The teddy bear as a friendly companion is a perfect touch, just like how a teddy bear is often a child's closest friend. Hugging Teddy made me feel less alone throughout the game, giving him a warm and caring character.
I also really appreciate that the behind-the-scenes content is part of the game world and is exploreable. That kind of extra stuff is rare these days. There’s one behind-the-scenes content that talks about cutting a final level where the child had to climb drawers in order to finish the level. They realized it was frustrating because of the pulling mechanic and decided to scrapped it. It turned out to be a good decision. They said, "A good decision, and a lesson in not getting too attached to the ideas we personally love, and not being afraid to remove them if they don't work in the big picture.” In simple terms, “Kill your darlings.”
Among the Sleep is a rare kind of horror game for me. It puts players in the shoes of a toddler, where the horror comes from a child's perception but it’s not about “What’s under the bed?” or “What’s in the darkness?”.[hr]It’s a rare thing to see portrayed visually in this game that rather than having the father be the abusive and neglectful one, they chose the mother. It shows that fathers aren’t the only ones who can play the bad role in family drama. I really like that they went with a more realistic story instead of a child's creepy tale ending. Serious topics like this don’t get much attention in video games, and it’s clear the devs felt compelled to create something truly meaningful.
And lastly, there’s a small but powerful moment at the end of the final chapter—before heading through the final door, you can actually pat your mother. No words, just a simple touch. It’s a quiet, emotional gesture that says so much. That hit me hard.
Never knew it would be fun to hide from mommy! 10/10 would run again
Try "Dollmare" if you want a good creepy baby game. This one is all about randomly walking around for a lonnnnggg time looking for something to do. Another annoyance is that when the "saving" icon blinks on, it means nothing.....if you don't finish the entire round you will have to repeat it again...and this baby is very very slow (realistic, yeah but adds to the aggravation of getting stuff done. Almost 2 hours in and I wanna nap...game over.
Among the Sleep
Overall impression
I got familiar with this game back in 2014, watching BlackSilverUfa's let'splay. At that time, for me it was just another horror game that I watched someone play. What exactly the game was about, I couldn't remember at that time, except that the main character was a small child.
But in 2025, this game came across me personally and I was caught by that memories, and I decided to personally try and experience what was still left in my memory. But I didn't expect to get the "lump in throat" effect from the plot, which is presented in the game through the eyes of a child.

What DID I like?
- Simply one of the best, for me personally, interpretations of observing family events through the eyes of a child. Great work, Krillbite.
- Actual and realistic plot, the details of which you find and learn as you play.
- Interesting and realistic mechanics of the main character's movement.
- Excellent Sound Effects in the game. At some points they scare you a lot, at others they give a good opportunity to experience the emotions of the characters.
- A helpful and cute friend-bear Teddy (who reminded me of my childhood toy Petryk :) )
- Interaction with the outside world. Opening cabinets, chests, drawers, moving chairs, throwing objects.
- Monster design in accordance with the part of the game.
- Interesting location design.

What I DIDN'T like?
[*] Partially stuck between two objects.
Conclusion
This game is for me a unique example in terms of presenting the plot, especially since it is quite realistic in our time. And all this is presented under the veil of a child's imagination, which does not yet fully understand the real situation and tries to protect itself from it, both in fact and in imaginary form. For a better understanding, I advise everyone, after the main part of the game, to go through the free DLC "Prologue", which will be available in the game.
The game is perfectly played in one session, with great interest, and in some cases, great caution.
This game has stayed really good since I've discovered in it 2017.
wow i was not expecting the ending at all
Linear story about trauma from the perspective of one too young to understand.
Short game, but moving.
Scenery, characters and set pieces are beautiful and often have deeper meanings.
A lot of thought went into this game.
I enjoyed the game overall. Its pretty creepy at times. Game play is very straightforward. Navigate the environment and solve puzzles to progress. Puzzles are simple. Story is fine (dark). The tone of the game is its saving grace.
7/10
very good form my childhood
another one sold as a game but only a storybook really.
you click a button or similar, a door open, then start over.
point and click? its a not! point and click games have ample variations of buttons/ settings so if you just simply touch everything you wouldnt get through.
boring garbage, dont buy. dont waste your time.
btw my save got lost so i guess ill never finish your "book" either.
will write for steam as well see if they will start adding useful tags already or instead scam another round of 5 euros off of me.
buenardo
AAAAAAAAAAAAA
so cozy
This game is trash.
The game some very creative mechanics that I love, movement is fluid but ocasionally janky. The story is good it pulls a few strings. It has some annoying bugs, I couldn't open the final vent in chapter 3 after restarting the chapter. I had to re-do the entire game until that point. That pissed me off. The game is short, however. You won't regret it. It is a walking simulator with a few hunter enemies in between.
lowkey fire game real ones watched the dantdm vid abt this game
Really good game! Worth the purchase.
Beautiful game with such a heart breaking story!
very good
great game. brings awareness to an important topic. plot line is awesome. loved it.
Short and entertaining. A nice little experience.
great game
From what I had heard, I was expecting more. The story is just too surface level, and maybe that was intentional considering you are acting as a 2-year-old, but the developers could have added even a little more to make the game feel more complete. I'm glad I played it, but don't waste your money on it at full price; wait for a sale.
it was a chilling and immersive horror experience through the eyes of a child. The eerie atmosphere, clever storytelling, and unsettling environments make it engaging. However, the ending felt rushed and unsatisfying to me. Still, it was worth playing

Among the Sleep is a fun game, and even though it only takes about 3 hours to finish, it’s worth it. The story is really interesting and makes the game feel special. The creepy atmosphere adds to the experience. The short gameplay is perfect for the story it tells, and it sticks with you after you’re done playing.
the game is good but the story is really sad
Good but I didn't find it that scary or intense.
Short and sweet, but I recommend getting it on sale.
I love this game, i came back for some nostalgia because i watched Dan play it as a kid but i really did forget how amazing it was. I'll avoid spoilers but seriously a beautiful game. I love the way it portrays such a dark subject in the eyes of a child
Muy buen juego de terror. Me pegué unos buenos sustos. Muy bien logrado. Es muy cortito nomás.
"I went to sleep,
Then I dreamt of being awake,
Then I woke up."
In other news, game = super w, much love 11/10 Horror that isn't *Scream.mp3* repeating over and over.
Do Get!
Amazing game, nostalgic from my childhood. I finally got the chance to finish it. But ngl I'm too lazy for the achievements haha.
I enjoyed playing Among the Sleep. I really like the atmosphere and how it makes the player feel fear through it. I really like the story. It touches a really deep subject. I like the art style, I think it's cute, charming and at the same time, horrifying. However, I encountered a bug at the beginning of the game where the camera was offset from the actual player. That was annoying. Another negative thing about this game is that it says it supports controller, but when I try to play it with my controller, it did not work. I had to play with a keyboard and mouse instead. But despite those two negative aspects about the game, I mostly enjoyed it! :D
SUMMARY:
The atmosphere is good. The story is good. The art style is good. There was a bug that was annoying. Controller doesn't work with this game, at least for me.
8/10
Very recommended.
I like it.
A 'walking simulator' indeed, but one offering much more and involving gameplay than the usual in the genre and that, together with the lovingly crafted music, visuals and experiences, gives you quite an engaging playthrough! 👍
A nice short game about toddler and teddy bear team up together to find the mother during dark night adventure and very unnerving horror game
but the ending really breaks my heart after witness it (trying to avoid spoilers so people can play it to see for themselves)
the game is pretty good and recommend you to play it if you interested
So fun! i've already played the game like 6 times
Endearing and entertaining little game though too expensive for its length
I did not trust the bear he creeped me out
As a horror game it didn't feel like it did anything special or even good. But the story was interesting.
Very interesting game, good atmosphere.
I played this game for nostalgia because I remember watching one content creator doing lets play about this one when I was a kid
A genuinely good horror game with some heavy themes. I really can't go too deep into it without spoiling some things. you probably saw Markiplier, Jacksepticeye or any of the classic YouTubers play this game, at least, that's how I heard about this game. But if you watched their videos a long time ago, like I did, it's still worth a play through. Another point I like about this game is that the story isn't intentionally obtuse. There's mystery, but it's not painfully obscuring details of the story to provoke community engagement. It tells a full story. And that story is gut-wrenching, dark, and last of all, hopeful.
