Poorly made and extremely repetitive ,it worked fine wo any problem except the one I mentioned below ,I dont recommend if it not a childhood game of yours
Change your text scale to 100% if higher than that if you dont want to run into any issues
Back in college my buddy and I would rent bad 80s action flicks from the $1 section of the local video store. We tried to to find the "So bad, it's good" and every once in a while were surprised by a genuinely entertaining (albeit low quality) move.
This game is like that, picked it up for $2 on sale and despite all its rough, buggy edges, I enjoyed 90% of the 5 hours spent blazing thru this game. Turn off your brain and enjoy a very over the top action game
4/10 it just isn't very fun. I mean it tries to have an interesting story but it falls flat, combat suffers the same fate

If you want god of war with a b movie vibe this one is for you. Enemy types are very repetitive and uninspired. It's the exact same formula as god of war 1 - 3 four different weapon types, platforming sections and a few boss battles. It's actually quite humorous the dialogue between the protagonist and your sidekick and the remaining cast giving its so bad its good feels. It's a short but fun game.
best hack n slash game , decent story and good voice acting. i wish there where sequel for this

One thing before I start: the game has QTE that require pressing the Light or Heavy Attack button, mapped to the I and P keys respectively. You can do these attacks with the mouse too, but it won't work for the QTE: you have to press the keys for it to register. Either that or use a controller.
That said... yeah, it's GoW: you go through a linear path broken by arenas or light puzzles, mow down enemies with your scythe and magic, ride the bigger enemies to smash the smaller ones and press/mash buttons at the right time. Oh, you also got a companion that banters with you.
It definitely feels rough in various places: the QTE can be easy to miss, especially the masing ones since they appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen, the weapon upgrades are very simple and kinda boring, and the magic attacks kinda blur together due to how similar they are.
There are also "challenges", mini-games that pop up from time to time during the game: there's sliding, turret sections, "get all the glowing orbs" sections and a vertical shmup. Beating them nets you some extra experience.
They aren't that great, especially the last one due to the poor bullet visibility.
All in all, it's a bootleg God of War. It can keep you occupied for a few hours, but I doubt you'll come back to it after seeing the credits.
It's a fun game in the art of Devil May Cry.
The fighting styles are fun, the magic is fun and the story is really dumb but also funny.
Tho the boss fight was unfair shitty and whoever thought playing through the credits for 10 minutes should get fucked with a chair.
Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death is a high-octane hack-n-slash action game where the titular character is killed by his girlfriend's evil boss, but revived as a Mayan Sacred Warrior, accompanied by a talking mask of death. They must work together to prevent him from using ancient powers to rule the world. Most of the game is very fast-paced, lots of enemies and explosions throughout, which reminds me of cheesy action films.
For the gameplay, you fight using a scythe named Kukulkan's Fangs, which has several powerful combos. Later on, the scythe can also take different forms such as dual swords, whip, and hammer, all with different combos to try out. And you'll be able to use magical powers from the 4 elements, which serves as a high-damage AoE attack but really drains mana. There's also a bit of platforming, light puzzles, and boss fights against monstrous creatures.
My main problem with this game is not really a fault of its own, but rather its era. And that is, there is too much bloom. Let's state the obvious, it looks ugly. But other than that, it also interrupts with gameplay. There are several sections where the gameplay switched into some sort of minigame, like when Marlow was sliding down a slope to avoid rocks, or flying a plane. On these sections, the bloom is bothersome, like for example it makes the slopes' obstacles or enemy heliopters' missiles hard to see.
But overall, it's still a pretty fun game, being both intense and cheesy as well as having a cool variation of combos. If you like hack-n-slash titles, Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death is a fun title to play for several hours. Just don't expect a really good story as its kinda basic.
Very fun game except for the wildly moving camera angles! Used an Xbox controller. Definitely worth the sale price I paid for it! :D
Pretty fun in a B movie kinda way, go in expecting nothing and buy it for .99 cents, you'll have a pretty fun time if you like god of war kind of games.

I like this game but its short game
Good God of war clone. This may not fulfill it's potential but I don't mind. I do wish for a sequel but I also see why it won't ever have one. For the time it entertains me I can recommend it. Just don't be too critical & have too high of expectation.
A good old God of War-like game, surprisingly I had fun at least in the most part. Some puzzles are a bit confusing as moving something move another but cant see on screen so you don't know the effect.
Weapons are fun with dozens of combo on each of them I remember only a handful of them or you can just spam the 2 attack buttons. The last weapon which is Hammer is the most disappointing it is slow and doesn't really hit hard and enemies in this game don't stagger so you are gonna be exchanging hits and you don't want that.
Magic are fine but you can't use them a lot since 1 use will take the entire mana bar, they look awesome but not really punchy but at least they are a big aoes.
Enemy variety is poor though. Some enemies are so annoying they take so long to die, with super armor and gang up on you hell they are even harder than actual bosses which are basically just gimmick bosses. At least Final Boss gave a good fight but still just a pushover.
Environment design is decently good for an obscure game. Story is fine not spectacular.
All in all pretty decent game.
This would be a great action combat game if it weren't for the annoying platforming mini-games that come up every so often.
If you don't mind that stuff you should probably get this game.
Fun short God of War clone. Soundtrack has no right being as good as it is. Only complaint was the low budget really stuck out during the stop motion cutscenes.
It's a cheap imitation of the God of War series. Watered down combat. Not that many combos. No Lock-On. Small enemy variety. Not only that, but there's a lot of mini-games riddled throughout the game that can be rather annoying. I died probably only a handful of times, running through the game on Hard in under 6 hours. The cutscenes are like a slow-motion comic. The only thing I can give praise for is that it has James Hong and Steve Blum lending their voices in the game.
It's a 2/5 game. A bargain bin game that's not too different from the rest of the hack'n'slash genre and doesn't care to bring anything new to the table.
Not bad. Finally finished it after owning for years. Found the later portions of the game annoying and kinda difficult but thats just my opinion. Overall the story was good, dont know if they with make a sequel or prequel. Graphics at current state still hold up and gameplay is transit and smooth, i used a controller. But overall if you find yourself checking this game out wait till its on sale and pick it up, see what you think then.
