It is very fun to play! I think alot of kids that like Marvel is going to like it

I first played this game as a kid on my xbox 360, then again on my ps4 and now again on my pc. All 3 times I've 100% the game, this most recent playthrough hit me the hardest. I realised that I am no longer a kid and the fun I used to have has changed. I no longer feel the urge to race the trains as Iron Man, or swing around the city as Spider Man. I'm an adult now, everything is results driven now, if i'm not making progress I feel as if I'm wasting time. But playing this game as ab adult isn't all bad, I've learn't to love and respect the music, story, map design, animation and art style of the game. The game hasn't changed... I have.

This is honestly one of the best, if not the best, LEGO games out there. While the story might be on the shorter side, it’s the perfect game to enjoy on a relaxing afternoon. I played it a lot when I was younger, so revisiting it brought back some great memories—it felt amazing to experience it all over again.

This was my very first lego game and I had first played in on the ps3. I love this game so much I am attempting to 100% it here on steam.

its been like 10 years since the last time i played this game, so when I saw it was on sale, went ahead I picked it up for nostalgia sake, I was not really looking for anything other than a that sweet nostalgia feeling, but I was wrong this game (for me at least) still holds up very good, I really had a blast "replaying" it. Hands down probably one of the best "Lego games".

This game was my childhood. Even though I only have 44 hours on THIS account, as a kid, I would play this game for days on my dad's steam profile before I had my own. Overall, I have about 700 hours on this game.

I won't sit here and pretend the game is perfect, because it isn't. Inherently, not everyone is going to like LEGO games, because they all follow the same basic gameplay with the occasional variation in the formula, but LMSH does almost everything a LEGO game can do, and it does it all very well. The game has a fantastic original story, pulling characters from the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic 4 all in one surprisingly well-written story that doesn't take too long to complete. The 15 chapters the game offers are more than enough to satiate any avid player's desire for character interactions you didn't even know you needed, like when Captain America and The Thing have to raid an island that has been taken over by velociraptors.

Now, I feel like I should mention the largest complaint people seem to have about this game; the Steam version of this game is an awful port to PC. There isn't any mouse support for the game, meaning you either have to connect a controller or play keyboard only, and it suffers from framerate issues occasionally and lots of screen tearing when playing with 2 monitors. These aren't issues on other versions of the game, such as the Xbox 360 version that was released at the same time, but without access to said other versions, I have found no major quality dips that impede on the primary gameplay. I would heavily recommend digging out an old wired Xbox controller and playing this game on that, though. Keyboard kinda sucks.

I briefly mentioned the story and it's 15 chapters, and to keep the experience fresh, I won't spoil anything. However, when you finish this said campaign, the freeplay options for the game are fantastic as well and are quite expansive. The game has a total of 155 unlockable characters (not including DLC) and even more unlockable vehicles to drive around the hub world with and other various collectibles to increase the playtime of the game. The aforementioned hub world is another amazing aspect of this game; they managed to recreate all of Manhattan perfectly into a LEGO environment, while simultaneously merging all the iconic Marvel locations within the said city. Stark Tower is just down the street from the Baxter Building, which is right next to Nightmare's Carnival, which is across the street from Fisk Tower, which is next to Oscorp... you get the idea. Pair this with the fully explorable Helicarrier that is used as the hub for all your collectibles, and you get one of, if the not the best hub world in any LEGO game IMO.

Overall, and you can say this is biased because of my nostalgia for the game, but I'd give LEGO Marvel Super Heroes a 10/10 when it comes to being an enjoyable, somewhat cartoony, and an overall wonderful game that's both entertaining for kids and anyone who enjoys LEGO games. I could be swayed into knocking the rating down to a 9.5 due to the porting issues, but if we're looking at the game alone, I consider it to be the best LEGO game ever released.

Good waste of a few hours, can be a bit annoying to get the last few gold bricks, but worth the struggle for the feeling of completion

Finally got around to finishing this one, and it's pretty great! It's classic LEGO puzzle solving and platforming with Marvel characters and the abilities they bring to the table. The story is about what you expect with the writing and humor being really juvenile and slapstick but there's something kinda great about a game that doesn't take itself seriously every once in a while. Overall i'd say wait until a sale since 20 USD is a bit much for an older LEGO game but other than that it's a great time for Marvel fans or people who love the old-school LEGO games.

This Lego game is near perfect if they make the flying control more proper in open world

Game itself so much fun with lots of side quest to play in open world, but again, why is every lego game release after 2010-ish just have like 10 to 15 main story level, man i missed when the game have lot more level. I want to spend more time in this game because it's so much fun.
Characters are variative and many of them are really fun to play with, even though some of them are recycle, like Beta Ray Bill from DLC, man lazy ass just throw Thor voiceline on him, i mean even Jean Dark Phoenix are better than him and that character just a recolor of original Phoenix + new fire beam.

honestly bought this cause i was bored and now im having some fun playing this game you can explore new york city and do other stuff to unlock characters and cars planes or trucks drive around and just smash stuff to have fun

NOTE: It's recommended to play this game with an Xbox controller, or any controller that has the same control scheme. You do not need the DLCs to 100% the game and all of it's achievements.

Still a solid classic from my childhood. The plot is easy to understand for the young kids, but surprisingly deep and complex for adults that make it interestingly fun for family bonding and for all ages. I do recommend buying this game during a huge sale. There's zero point paying full price for a game like this, but it's up to you.

I've spent hundreds of hours playing this game as a kid, so i thought id get it on sale and see if ill enjoy it as i did when i was younger.
and i sure did, the game is just pure fun and so nostalgic. this game was what taught me about so many of my now favorite marvel characters and got me into comics and the mcu.
also not to brag now i can do what kid me couldn't. get 100% 😼

One of my favorite lego games I have ever played.
Haven't played the entirety of this on Steam, but have had a Playstation and have completed the entirety, and must say, this is such a fun ride.
Although, I don't think this is the best Lego Marvel game, that goes to Lego Marvel Avengers, but I still love this game.
The boss fight(s) were excellent and Stan Lee and Deadpool were so fun to unlock.
9/10, only because some of the characters you can unlock are lackluster, but I would still recommend this to people who want a fun lego game.

It's crazy fun! The computer controls take some time to learn, but its really fun

This is the buggiest and most frustrating of all the Lego games we've ever played, with characters often getting stuck, controllers no longer responding, and it often being unclear where the heck you're supposed to go (particularly in New York City). Also, the music is highly derivative of the Avengers instead of being more original.

Enjoyable game but make sure you have someone else and another controller because doing the story by yourself gets annoying

it was fun to 100% and it brings back nostalgia from when i played it as a kid

hands down the best LEGO game to date, and easily one of the most in depth Marvel games out there. The inclusion of 180 heroes, villains AND anti-heroes whilst maintaining a solid comic styled story to fit them all into is a blessing for any fan. For me this game is pure comfort, i'm a die hard marvel fan so my opinion is automatically biased but this game simply ticks all the right boxes for me. The replay value is 1000000% there. The fact this game can be in excess of like £3 on sale is a genuine steal. Absolute no brainer for me, what a game.

One of the best Lego games oat. I have loved this game ever since the first time i played it back in 2016. I even remember that I thought the ice dude was the coolest. It has some very good boss fights, and its so cool to be able to play as your favorite marvel characters such as spiderman and deadpool personally. I would say this game requires some brains because some levels had me stumped for an hour or two but in the end i prevailed.

once again, tt games has been able to add to the bloat of previous games while making major ambitions clear and failing at them due to a lack of effort.

TL;DR: controls like an early 3D game, think superman64 or gex64. tt games haven't figured out cameras yet either, reminding me of the a sonic game i played on my friends dreamcast.

pros:
you no longer have to go to a special place to be allowed to go through a absolutely needlessly bloated roster one character at a time to be able to buy new characters. a much needed feature for the last few games.

cons:
the camera takes 10 seconds to have a full 360 spin. so if you need to look behind you in this 3D action beat-em-up, just know that you have time for a drink of water before you're done looking behind you. stay hydrated.

also it's clear the devs knew for a fact that there would never be a reason to look under you as you're flying, because they actively lock you out of being able to do much of anything with the camera when flying.

the controls are the exact same for previous games with a variable or two changing how fast or high you can go. next to no polish was given to the new movement mechanics of free roam flying. so when you're flying like a jet with ironman, you press x to increase your angle of assent, and b to decrease, with the only option to fly level being to let go of all controls, stop in mid air, wait a second so the game knows you didn't slip, and then press forward again to gain full speed 3 seconds later again. you will have to master long press x, tap b until mostly level, tap x and b repeatedly to mostly maintain level flight while repeatedly slamming the stick to the side that you want to turn in because it doesn't have incremental turning. also, you'll naturally want to pull back on the stick to stop since pushing forward has you go forward. when at full speed this does nothing.

jean grey, susan storm, and magneto can't fly in game, only in cut scenes. they can hover off the ground just enough to not be able to pass the smallest of steps or curbs. so they're useless in the open world other than when their power is needed for a moment.

on the computer version, there is no way to skip any cut scenes. if you try to find a way to do so the lego gaming community will tell you that you don't deserve to play this game unless you're willing to watch every cut scene every time and mock you for suggesting that you don't want to watch the same cut scene 5 times in a row.

on the computer version there is no way to directly choose your character if the character has multiple skins. from watching youtube play throughs you can press a button to move through which ironman you want to be (42 is the only one worth being that i found) so when choosing ironman on pc, you get to wait while it autoscrolls through all of the options and you have one second to select your option or you have to wait for it to autoscroll through all options again. there's a "competition" of worst ui designs people could come up with back in the early 00's. the basics of this design was literally one of the submissions to that contest.

using a controller for the computer version is almost pointless. the plethora of escort missions and races make that clear. the sticks controls will be divided into three sensitivity zones. no movement, slow movement (a slow or sneaking walk), and running. whether you want it to or not, running will automatically turn to sprinting in 3 seconds when you're in the open world. useful when point a and b are far away from each other, controls worse than Gex64 when you're 4 seconds away from point b. turning is a boolean value (is or is not happening, no in between). a 90 degree turn will take 2.5 seconds when going full speed and then you have to stabilize to center, tougher to do when you aren't allowed to control the camera in any meaningful way.

going back to flight for a second, it's fun flying as anyone on the streets because every time you need to make a turn you have to stop completely and turn and start again. this obviously kills the momentum and the fun.

there isn't a single fix for any of these problems with mods either. 99% of mods are new skins, mainly spider-man.

If you've played a Lego game, its your standard Lego slapstick humour and fun gameplay, but with Marvel characters. I'd recommend it for anyone who just wants a relaxing game. My more indepth but not really because the game doesn't have too much depth (its pretty repetitive) review is below.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes was an incredibly fun ride. 100%'d it in one 4 day weekend (probably could have been sooner, but over all 30 hrs for a 100% run. I grabbed it on sale for $4 Canadian. Well worth the $4.

While the game is definitely intended for children, and I know a lot of parents play the game co-op with their kids, as an adult I still found it fun to play single player. Nothing is overtly difficult. It definitely is a collectathon outside of the main story which by itself is probably max 10 hrs with cutscenes. However I dont mind a good collectathon, and a good chunk of the collection related stuff are for characters which just make replaying missions or doing side quests much more entertaining when comboing the different characters. You do have to do story + free roam to fully unlock/collect everything, as well as numerous side quests to unlock everything.

The Achievements are really doable. The one that might seem the most absurd (but isn't) is the "Collect 1 billion studs". But for that, you use the stud multiplier cheats, which you get by doing side missions and unlocking Deadpool bricks. I got 1 Billion studs before even finishing half of the 500+ combined collectibles (bricks, stan lee, minifig, characters, vehicles, etc.).

Combat is super basic. Its Lego, its pretty much Jump/fly, press 2 buttons for different types of attacks (or in some cases 1 button attack, 1 button special character related ability like turning invisible), and change character/transform.

If you like Lego games, and like Marvel, it is definitely a fun game. A nice "palette cleanser" so to speak between other games. Wouldn't recommend it at full price, as it is a very old game (11 years I believe at time of writing) and is often on sale for quite cheap.

Unfortunately, this game does not run at all. I have literally tried everything, but after 0.2 hours of leaving the game open on and off, it doesn't work. I can't give this a good review unless the game actually runs, and I can't believe this but I have to refund it.

Very enjoyable with a great open-world. I wish you were able to explore more of New York, but Manhattan is great fun on it's own. The story is a bit bland in my opinion, but I got through it and am now having a good time in NYC. 10/10 *will unlock core childhood memories through the skydive theme*

Fix the frame-rate limiter! The game is set to 60hz, yet I am getting anywhere from 500 to over 4000 fps, causing my 6750xt to stay at 99% utilization constantly and run hot for NO REASON on dang a lego game. Gameplay is fine, my daughter likes it.

amazing game never was bored playing it and i finally 100% it after playing it on my xbox 360 when i was like 7 saw it was on sale and got motived to finish the game and it was amazing i most defitly recommed this game

This was a genuinely fun game, i was planning to obtain this game through other methods, glad i didnt, its so much more worth it this way. Really fun for kids and adults too! Planning to 100% every lego game aswell.

Not bad, especially if you're a fan of the Fantastic 4 or X-Men. Flying races are a nightmare, part of why I only got to 98.9%, but I am content. At least you can beat up quest givers with power moves if you want to (this was removed in later games). Overall, not bad.

One of the absolute best LEGO games ever made (and one of the best Marvel games ever made) featuring a really solid selection of characters and vehicles...somehow to this day the only LEGO Marvel game to feel fully fleshed out character-wise due to the inclusion of the Fantastic Four and X-Men (and their villains). Some really good level design and an iconic soundtrack, plus some fun animations and voice acting. A bit buggy sometimes, some of the tiny frustrations in the levels are janky at times, and the custom character creator is mediocre, but the overall vibes are comfy and engaging. So much love for the Marvel Universe in this game. A blast to 100% complete too!

I would recommend this, but there are...so many unskippable cutscenes, even when doing freeplay it is a slog to gather collectables, this includes the main menu cutscene which forces you to sit and wait for a good 2 mins for it to play every single time you start the game.
