A game where you play as an Irishman who fights Nazis because they messed with his racecar. It's like Fast & Furious, but with berets and baguettes.
First, the world starts in black and white, like someone forgot to pay the collour bill. But don’t worry—blow up a Nazi tower or two, and BOOM: Technicolor! It’s like giving Paris a mood ring, except the mood is “explosions.
Still one of the best games out there, shame EA bought the company and sacked them all, and closed the company down, typical tricks of EA, its not their game it's a Pandemic studios game.
I've played this so many times now, could do it backwards lol.
Better story & gameplay than most newer games.
The story picks up its pace at the last third. Dare I say I screamed at that last color change of the final cut scene. As an early AC fan, I appreciate the open world and the climbing all over, albeit the collectibles are a little too much even for me.
A vaery classic game! its like gta and a mix of assassin creed game its a good classic open world game that, it also reminds me the game Mafia, its also a good game but the saboteur is a classic! i recommend to buy it, i only bought it for like 4dollars i never regret my desicion.. Quirky custom Engine with odd bugs does not distract from the unique open world theme of The Saboteur.
For a swan song from Pandemic Studios, it has interesting ideas - fun game play and some nice characters.
Although the majority of the characters are fairly bland, story is semi-alright. It needed to be worked on more.
From playing for a while, the gameplay is the main focus and everything else took a backseat.
For lovers of Open World games, grab for an interesting fun time.

The way it portrays areas suppressed by the Germans or enlightened by the Resistance is a really cool concept. I wish a sequel to game was created. It was a game franchise that deserved more attention than it received after it was released.
Its a definite hidden diamond.
Pretty fun game, I have to admit. Even if the game is very old, the visual art, the presentation, the setting, makes this game unique.
One major drawback of this title is that, there is no steam cloud and I often lost my save file.
But, the core gameplay is fun and enjoyable.
Always loved this game. Good story, good gameplay and good everything honestly. Its like Grand Theft Auto, Assassin's Creed and Tomb Raider had a beautiful perfect baby :D 🕊️
Underrated gem of a game. I would recommend playing this if your a fan of the Just Cause series. Buggy as hell but still a peak game. Absolute cinema.
Game is alright. Funny Irish man that doesn't sound like he is under the influence of alcohol.
Love the black and white filter when under German influence but showcase colours when liberating some sectors of a fictional country known as France.
My biggest complaint is the broken video setup. Forced to play the game at 30 FPS, low graphics and 800x-600x screen resolution. Tried some solutions online but they didn't seem to help not one bit.

1 hour in this game and I have heard "NAZI BASTARDS" at least 5 times, and that's good enough for me.
Picked it up on sale for about $5. Absolutely worth every penny. You will have to check with the discussions, and guides to fiddle with the config. Basically keep it 1920x1080 at 60hz and it will run just fine. I fiddled around for 10 minutes and got it running just fine.
Great little 3rd person shooter if skulking around and killing lots of Nazis is your thing. There are better looking games out there but this one is just plain fun.

This game had so much potential to be something truly special. The concept, the story, the ideas are the perfect recipe for a video game set during WW2. Troubled development and low budget really limited what it could've been.
As it is, still a charming fun game. I really wish this could get a from the ground up remake, but at the hands of EA, it will never happen. Can you imagine what Rockstar or Hanger 13 could do with this ip?
GTA France - World War Edition
A great game that is long overdue for a remaster/remake.
There is a bug in the graphics application. If you set your refresh rate higher than 60, your settings will not apply properly.

Yes its a good game overall. this is my second time playing it last time was around 2013.
Graphically in looks it reminds me of Just Cause (2006) Gun (2005), these games are older than the Saboteur and look just as good as it so in that department it falls down a bit. Movements especcially climbing can be clumsy and clunky.
Some of the missions are very enjoyable no doubt but the ending was a bit of a letdown. Still a positive from me overall for some really fun missions and the map does have nice features. id like to see a new game being produced because it has the potential to be really good, an open world gta style game in world war 2 paris and the french countryside.

you get stuck at 800p no matter the settings you change because it ignores it, you gotta change them in the ini for it to maybe work then run at a capped 60hz or it crashes and runs at like 30 fps with dips down to 15
This was one of the very first games I 100%'ed back on Xbox 360, it's an amazing game. This game is essentially Grand Theft Auto's open world + Assassin's Creed climbing + Hitman disguises/stealth in WW2 France
I just wish the Steam release had achievements so I could 100% it again
had to grab this on sale, as i remember playing it pre-origin back in the day, the game still stands well and is still an excellent game.
Its an amazing game if you can look over the bugs. The story is neat, but you feel its age at some points.
To me, this game perfectly exemplifies the simple goal of being as fun as possible--what many games of its era strived for. While having somewhat serious tones for its main narrative, it doesn't take itself too seriously at all. There's plenty of crude humor thrown in, which pairs well with the freedom to wreck havoc all over WWII Paris. I really do miss games like this. I am glad I am able to revisit it on PC.
I'm sure it's a great game but when I try to launch it, it rearranges my desktops and refuses to open as anything other than a white or black box in the top left of my screen.
All of the fixes and plugins online I've looked at don't work, I've tried launching it at the default 60hz 800x600 resolution, i've tried running in administrator, the Fullscreen wizard plugin but none of it works so for a game that was brought to steam back in march of this year and not having any compatibility fixes added to it, I can't recommend it. Even if I eventually figure out how to get the game to work I don't think I could recommend having to jump through hoops to play a game (and that's saying something because I like playing Fallout: New Vegas and that requires atleast 3 different anti-crash patches and mods just to not have it crash for an extra 2 hours)
For a cut price, old game this is well worth a few quid.
Game play is smooth and remarkably unclunky considering the age, my only gripe is they didn't make a part 2.
Story is engaging with a number of side missions and free play targets, across Paris and the French countryside.
This is a game you can dip in and out of with relative ease, with a good mix of difficulty and some thinking required on how you are going to get into a given area.
Plays a lot like AC, with the stealth elements, climbing and disguises. Really enjoyed the tanks, cars. APC's which can be used and taken to your garage and made available for later use.
AA guns can also be used to destroy vehicles, speakers, sniper towers etc.
Great range of weapons which can be bought with contraband, which you can find laying around in SOE crates and you receive from completing missions. The silenced pistol is a must as is the silenced SMG you get access to in act 2.
Would love to see a remake of this.

Way better than I've expected
I was expecting this game to be cheesy and even unplayable at times but to be honest, it surprised me!
I enjoyed playing as a depressed Irish man, who ended up in France and teamed up with them in a strip club to make the Nazi troops to go back to where they came from while having to work with the MI6 Brits and seeing him hating every second of it to help them find the ultimate glowing dope that was retrieved from Chernobyl mountains! 10/10 game; highly recommend since it's not pricey!

This was a decent game. Took me awhile to finally finish it but if anyone cares I'll list why down below.
Anyway, the story is good, the controls can be wonky, and the climbing is worse than Assassin's Creed. Speaking of that game, The Saboteur is a mix of AC & GTA like most other reviews have said. This game has aged well, at least for now. I thought the black and white was an interesting touch but kinda got annoying after awhile. You only get color if you finish side/main missions to break free of oppression for an area.
No game breaking bugs at least for me thankfully, but there were minor bugs such as enemies spawning on top of each other and a person I had to escort stopped moving for a time until I gave them a little push and that got them to move again.
Speaking of enemies, they were endless and it was just a matter of spray and pray with no real skills. Of course this game had to be one of those you knew were getting to the end of it if the game is throwing elite soldiers at you that are health sponges and can kill you quickly.
All in all, it was good mindless fun. The explosions were nifty. I recommend this, especially since it is so cheap.

While I was in the middle of this game, I was going through a gaming runt to where everything I was playing I lost interest in quickly (still kinda like that at the moment). While that was happening, my best friend of thirteen years passed away suddenly and without warning. For that I lost a piece of myself I'll never get back. Doesn't stop there though, I just recently found out that I am pregnant. One hell of a year so far. I know no one gives a crap about this but I do and I wanted to mark this down as this was the game I was playing while hell broke loose for me.
Would recommend to anyone who likes the open world gameplay of Gta or Saints row, pretty similar with a WW2 skin.
Great game. Too bad it's so unnoticed it'll never get a remaster or remake. If this one got good treatment, it would send AC franchise to the depths of hell.

amazing game wish it sold better at the time and wish pandemic studios was still a thing, they really went out with a bang
This game is the definition of hidden gem. Think of it as a mix of GTA, Assassin's Creed and Just Cause, but it also has an amazing atmosphere and great era acurate music. A must play even if it suffers from a few technical issues and clunky mechanics (mainly the climbing).

Interesting characters. The main character is Irish.
Good looking female characters and fan-service.
The game was released in 2009. So, the age does show, but it’s a fun game, from a time when games could be fun without anything unnecessary politics inserted in them.
While playing the game I thought about how nice a remake would be or a sequel. But then I remembered that it’s the year 2024. They couldn’t make a feature complete remake without changing anything or a sequel that would be any good. So, lets just forget about that.

This is such a phenomenal game. I went into it not thinking much of it and I absolutely fell in love with it. Sean Devlin was an absolute joy to play as and I will certainly go back in the future for another playthrough.
