Best cnc of them all. Played this game growing up and am thankful for the few people that still play it also supporting the servers and making bug fixes.
Loved this game don't buy if you want to play multiplayer as steam is selling evryone the same CD key so it doesnt work without messing with. Lazy.
Highly recommended requires some experience
A great addition to my favorite strategic games giving you a new experience with new weapons and robots... I absolutely enjoyed playing it.
good game
engaging and provides endless gameplay!
I think it's the best of the old style C&C games, simply put.

im running 2560 x 1080 and ultrawide works fine. Enjoy.
best and last strategy game.
One of the best RTS I have ever played. I would rank this in a top 10. I keep playing it everyonce in a while. Somtimes it does need a little tweaking to make it work properly on modern hardware and systems.
build and kill, good!
The game is OK but some how I expect more creative and challenging campaign from this franchise.
7/10
De los mejores RTS del mundo mundial
Great game.
Ого, мої друзі ГІіДOPACU
This is most enjoyable RTS experience currently available that is relatively "modern" speaking from a design standpoint. Nuanced gameplay with tons of tricks to discover even after years of playing. Amusing visuals, a cool setting and a stunning atmosphere. Unfortunately with the advent of microtransactions in RTS games, it's really hard to find anything decent past this point.
The game has certain balancing issues etc, so not the best for HC competition. But for a more casual RTS lover looking for an across-the-board captivating experience, it's probably the best thing out there.
Very fun, a little difficult the first time but still one of the most entertaining games I have ever played. Absolutely a 10/10 game.
TL;DR:
If you love old-school RTS games and have a soft spot for the C&C franchise, you’ll probably enjoy Kane’s Wrath. Just don’t expect it to revolutionize the genre—or even its own series.
Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath – A Real Razor Review (of the expansion)
Old Roots, New Wrinkles
Command & Conquer fans, let’s not kid ourselves: this expansion is a love letter to everything we adore about the franchise—fast-paced base building, tiberium harvesting, and mowing over enemies with absurdly large tanks. But much like a letter written on cheap paper, Kane’s Wrath feels a little flimsy in places.
On the surface, there’s plenty to like. You’ve got a 13-mission campaign, six new subfactions, and a new global conquest mode. But here’s the thing: most of it feels like it was assembled in a rush. The subfactions are interesting in theory, but their differences are so subtle that it feels like someone just shuffled the unit stats around and called it a day. Sure, Marked of Kane and The Black Hand are fun to play as, but they’re not exactly game-changers.
The Campaign: A Time-Traveling Fever Dream
The single-player campaign takes place across 20 years of C&C lore. Sounds epic, right? Not so fast. Instead of feeling like an intricate story, it’s more like a chaotic slideshow of disconnected events. One minute, you’re fighting at the end of the Second Tiberium War; the next, you’re decades into the future, playing a mission that has nothing to do with the last. If you’re new to the franchise, good luck piecing this together without a cheat sheet—or a time machine.
And let’s talk about the live-action cutscenes. Joe Kucan as Kane is still as delightfully over-the-top as ever, but even his charisma can’t save the cheesy dialogue and awkward pacing. At best, the cutscenes are nostalgic fun; at worst, they’re campy filler.
RTS Mechanics: The Good, the Bad, and the Outdated
Let’s not pretend we play C&C games for groundbreaking innovation. The RTS formula here is as classic as it gets: build a base, churn out units, and obliterate everything in sight. It’s chaotic, fast-paced, and undeniably satisfying when your army steamrolls the enemy. But here’s the rub: the AI hasn’t evolved since the original Tiberian Dawn.
Units still get stuck on rocks, pathfinding remains questionable, and the enemy AI insists on spamming units at you in a way that’s more annoying than strategic. It’s not about tactics or finesse; it’s about who can spam units faster. If you were hoping for smarter AI or deeper mechanics, this game just shrugs and says, “Nah.”
Global Conquest Mode: A Fresh Coat of Paint
The Global Conquest Mode is the expansion’s biggest addition. It introduces a strategic layer where you move armies around a world map, claim territory, and trigger real-time battles. It’s fun and adds variety, but let’s not pretend it reinvents the wheel. Compared to modern RTS games with similar mechanics, it feels basic and unpolished. Still, credit where it’s due—it’s a nice change of pace from the standard campaigns.
Multiplayer Mayhem
If you’re jumping into multiplayer, prepare to get annihilated in record time. Matches are as fast and brutal as ever, and new superunits like the Redeemer and Eradicator are here to break stalemates—or just your opponent’s spirit. The multiplayer experience remains a highlight, but don’t expect balance. Some of these new units are hilariously overpowered, which is fun until they’re used against you.
Verdict: Nostalgia vs. Progress
Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath is a mixed bag. It clings to its roots, and for die-hard fans, that’s part of its charm. The fast-paced gameplay, nostalgic cutscenes, and chaotic battles scratch that classic C&C itch. But it’s hard to ignore how outdated some elements feel—especially the clunky AI and lack of innovation.
For C&C veterans, it’s a solid (if slightly lazy) expansion that will keep you entertained for hours. For anyone hoping for a more modern RTS experience, look elsewhere. This one’s firmly stuck in the past—and honestly, that’s exactly where some fans want it to be.
Score: 7.5/10
It’s fun, it’s familiar, and it’s frustratingly flawed. Fan's of C&C will love it regardless of any criticism. So go enjoy yourself. It's your playground after all. Kane’s Wrath won’t blow your mind, but it might just remind you why you fell in love with C&C in the first place.
TLDR: More of a "Yuri's Revenge" than a "Zero Hour", Kane's Wrath adds 1 GREAT campaign and attempts to clone the Zero Hour formula of subfactions without as much success.
Pros:
- Best Tiberium campaign yet. Well acted and engrossing. The missions are fantastically designed.
- The new units are a welcome addition.
Cons:
- Feels like minimum effort when compared to past C&C expansions. The subfactions are barely specialized.
childhood game i love so much
Great game just finished 4/5 Kane is the GOAT
Probably the best RTS I have ever played.
it is cool

LAN play is broken since the collection bundle update. Will update review if fixed.
Multiplayer is broken please fix.
While this and the Core C&C 3 have certain pros and cons. (KW has extra units and structures + Global Conquest but it only has one campaign) Both of them are a blast to play.
I bought two copies of this game for myself and a friend. Unfortunately, Steam uses the same CD key for every copy of this game, so we cannot play multiplayer. In Windows, resolving this involves editing the registry. In Ubuntu, this game must be run with the proton compatibility wrapper, so editing an emulated registry gets a little more tricky. I have not successfully used protontricks to edit proton's registry for this game in this way, and really, this step should not be required anyway. If Steam used unique keys for each copy of this game, this would not be an issue. My understanding is I buy licenses on software for Steam, so for the price of 2 licenses, Steam has given me only one, which seems fraudulent.
Don't get me wrong I love this game and all its narm charm, but as a digital product it is unusable. Somewhere in 2024 someone replaced the steam distribution with a poorly copied over TUC version. This is yet another case of both abandoning product support and simultaniously monkeywrenching any legit users or community around the game. While the intent of adding the world builder and other fixes is nice on the face of it doing so without any testing is just piss poor. This has added more bugs than it fixed and also causes headaches with community fixes, being unofficial guides for fixes or unofficial patches. They added yet another mutation of incorrect AppData profiles, so now there are versions of the game that store stuff in "Kanes Wrath" and "Kane's Wrath" folders, in adittion to the original "Command & Conquer" and "Command and Conquer" folder fuck up. This makes it impossible for the game to load essential settings like full-screen resolution, and this game can not make it to main menu when it has the wrong resolution, there is no sane fallback behaviour. This game only runs on a really specific hardware setup that one dev for TUC was using or may only run with developer files only on their work machine that did not make it into the Steam distribution.
So now you have a game that does not run on windows 11 correctly. Does not run on Vista / XP etc it came out on originally correctly... It does not run on anything in between correctly and is just a pain in the ass to play. From what I understand a lot of the bugs on Proton aren't proton bugs either, but just faithful recreation of how this game is unplayable on Windows anyway. Do not trust EAs Steam releases, they no longer have the inhouse competency to publish games correctly. Even if the community comes up with a guide or workaround EA might force a Steam update that breaks it all and fixes nothing every 18 months or so.
There is no value for a consumer to pay money for this game here, you do not get a working product and the people that worked on this game are no longer with EA anyway (as if they even saw any of the money going to EA in the first place). The only reason someone would buy this is because it isn't legal for them to not pay for it in their country.
They ruined the best character ever created in the universe. CABAL - is order. Without CABAL there is no order. THIS GAME SUCKS! Legion is just a cheap imitation.
Probably my favorite RTS game of all time.

Real Time Strategy Game
great game to play and fun to learn
STEAMDECK (LINUX) TESTED ONLINE MULTIPLAYER WORKING
Followed this guide: https://gist.github.com/Medstar117/c9b17dcd8d8427b7cced25c072bc6f8e
method 2 (no need to change proton compatibility version)
Summary:
1. Install protontricks (via Discovery or pacman or apt)
2. Run game at least once so that the pfx folder is created so protontricks can see it
2.1 When you run protontricks GUI it will ask you which game prefix to use (virtual environment)
3. (proton/winetricks) WineCfg, emulate/enable Virtual Desktop (1280x720 will suffice)
3.1 If using EAapp/Lutris, you will need to temporary switch to a non proton-GE WINE (ie. lutris-7.2.2) in order to enable Virtual Desktop (ie. Virtual Desktop broken in proton-GE WINE)
4. (proton/winetricks) Install DLL/components: vcrun2005,2008,2010,2012,2013,2019
4.1 vcrun2019 may have CRC checksum warnings, just ignore and accept
5. Ask in C&C Online discord ( https://discord.gg/7Yp3HXg ) for revora.zip file which contains the enabler.exe fixes)
6. (proton/winetricks) Windows Explorer, run the KWEnabler.exe for the corresponding game (Kane's Wrath)
7. Disable Virtual Desktop
7.1 If using EAapp/Lutris, switch back to proton-GE WINE (ie. default wine-ge-8-26)
8. Load up game. Login using the C&C Online credentials of the account you created from C&C Online!
8.1 For reminder of login see My Account in C&C Online website (ie. TW/KW uses non-email address, whilst RA3/GEN uses email address login)
Love playing this game, it’s super challenging at times but it keeps you on your toes.
It's C&C, of course I recommend it.
PS: C&C4 doesn't exist.
one of the best in the whole series
A classic playable to this day (revora). 10/10
One of my favorites. Also, if you get Lossless Scaling, you can play up to 120fps and it works great.
This game is pretty fun, like most C&C games. I really like the "Risk"-esque game mode to conquer the world.
GOATED!
great game lots of fun
I've been playing this game for years and years. I enjoy playing and I enjoy watching matches on YouTube.
Love the global conquest mode
Aged extremely well, even today it is one of the best and least complicated RTS games around. It's an upgrade on Tiberium Wars. Excellent map editor. It's age is catching up though, you will need RAM patches to prevent crashes. Solid community though a bit of a closed shop. However, if you like fast-paced RTS games there isn't any better than C&C.
They need to make more of these.
