fun
Camera controls are frustrating, and the Oswald AI is not very helpful.
yes
i've played this game in the past on the wii and hey this game is not bad at all!!
i love and will always love the epic mickey series, but this port in specific just removes a feature thats crucial for the entire game to function, local co-op!!
or even co-op in general, this is literally a singleplayer version of the game whose name is "Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two", bear in mind that the "two" is you and a dumbahh cpu cause u cant play multiplayer at all
that being said, this game is not necessarily bad.. but this port just.. removed one of the most important aspects of the game? if not THE most important? wat da point
my childhood return :)
its good
I highly recommend this game if you like campaign games and adventure.
It can be pretty fun if your actively looking for flaws with the game and if you just like funny cartoons in general.
I got the first and second game and I love them both for the base gameplay!
Sure, the second game has some annoying parts to it but if you play this game on the Wii it can make for a fun co-up gameplay too!
super good now that epic mickey rebrushed is out!
There's a bug prevent you from finishing the game. I was excited to progress in the game. I feel like I've been scammed.
The game itself is great. It brings back memories from playing with my family on the Wii. The only thing is, I bought it to specifically play local co-op with my sister. Turns out that function isn't available on the Steam version. It sucks quite a bit, but doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the actual game. Would recommend, but just beware of the non-co-op function.
Fun game when sequel has cool story.
Hopeful more plans for the future.
They removed the multiplayer function... that's the whole point of the game...
And yet... it's still not bad?
Really, the only negative thing about this game is the graphics that haven't aged all too well. But the puzzles, story and gameplay? Easily enjoyable by all ages, don't let Mickey's face being on the game fool you.
Juego qlo bueno :v
ITS EPIC ITS MICKEY AND THERES 2 (my wife took the kids and left becuase i chose this over her) WELL LOOK AT ME NOW CHERILE WHOS THE REAL WINNER
It's a good game, I think it keeps players engaged for the story and the quests have guides on youtube
I remember playing this as a tiny little kid and it's still fun
BEST DISNEY GAME EVER
Can't even finish the first level because of a bug.
Refunding...
i did it i beat this game its a tricky but yet fun game 10/10 game is the best here are a few steps of how it is fun 1.it has a great story line 2.the game itself is great 3.it has really good boss fights and now its time to give you a hint of how to beat one of the boss's thin out the boss's mask's
this game's port made me want to kms. 10/10 would refund again
Gameplay gets tedious and repetitive and AI Oswald is frustrating as he is rarely helpful.
OSWALD
Come on who doesn't enjoy good tale about 2 half siblings on a journey to save everyone, its easy to get and enjoy. take your time to look around and take it in. Oswald really isn't seen so when he has chance to come around I smile.
good
I’m not sure how I enjoyed this game as a kid. It starts out mid and only gets more unpolished, less fun as the game goes on and the budget dries up. A really disappointing follow up to one of my favourite Wii games - especially when this port doesn’t even feature co-op, the mechanic the game was built around.
I don’t know why, but when I launched this game, it just crashed, but earlier I launched it, and everything was fine, even if there were achievements.
does anyone know how to fix this ? I have Windows 11 AMD Ryzen 5 7500F 6-Core Processor, 3701 MHz, cores: 6, logical processors: 12 and 32 GB of RAM
I played Epic Mickey 2 back in the day on my Xbox 360. I didn't like the game when I first played it; I don't even remember if I finished it or not. I decided to give it another chance. This game could have been good, but the devs ruined it by forcing co-op. It is also hilarious that the PC version of the game doesn't support multiplayer, so you are stuck with that dumb AI. Most of the actions require you and Oswald to work together, but good luck doing all that sh*t with that stupid AI. This stupid c*nt can't go from one place to another without falling off ledges or getting stuck behind obstacles. You are locked at 30 FPS. The game crashes if you try to play at 60 FPS. The side quests are a pain in the as* too. I prefer my side quests short and simple. Some side quests in this game can't be finished till the last act of the game. Are you f*cking kidding me? Let's not forget that the quests can glitch midway and stop you from completing them. The combat is utter dogsh*t. Fighting enemies is not fun. I avoided combat most of my playthrough due to how frustrating and bad it is. Completing the game feels like a chore with an excessive amount of backtracking. Don't even think about completing it 100%. Finding a cure for cancer would be easier. The game requires you to collect a gazillion things. The problem is that you have to perform very specific tasks to get these. If you don't have a guide in your hand, don't even bother. So, let's summarize what this t*rd has to offer: Braindead AI partner, frustrating combat, excessive and unnecessary backtracking, and last but not least, you can't play it at 60 FPS. These factors plague the whole game and make it nearly unplayable. There are lots of amazing platformer games on Steam, stay away from this dumpster fire
For those who are playing through this after playing through the re brushed remake before you jump in and buy this game read the fine print and take a look into the community page for fixes if you do end up buying this otherwise poor but still just okay port of this game.
the game lacks the feel of its console counter part due to the lack of the ability to play the game in multiplayer. the 2D platforming sections become much more challenging to 100% due to the lack of multiplayer certain routes and collectible items become unobtainable. the game also crashes plenty and you will most likely have to go in and read through the steam community tabs.
if you are not looking to 100% the game id say go for it. i hope the release of the re brushed remake will eventually see the re release of the sequel .
it is good but if you wanna play as Oswald, you kinda can't they removed co-op and just gave Oswald AI
I enjoyed the original game on the Wii, but the fact that multiplayer was removed shows how rushed and neglected this PC port was. Multiplayer was the **ENTIRE POINT** of this game. Oswald's AI is extremely mentally retarded and will constantly die and get directly in your way.
There is no point in playing this game without a friend. That's what made it fun.
Personally, I love it as I used to play this on my XBOX 360. Now that I have it on steam, its just extreme nostalgia. Heavily recommended! Btw I got this game off a 3rd party seller so I didnt get it for free. Just saying.
amazing game i remember this game on the wii and that was fun as hell with the controller always spazzing out and seizing great game 110/100
I played this game when I was younger and I was absolutely obsessed. Today, I like it but there's a few things that prevents me from fully enjoying it. Now, for anyone who are interested in the game solely for co-op... This steam version does not have co-op. I recommend you look elsewhere or be content with a single player experience. Also I've read other people experience several issues including crashing, so I recommend looking in the community discussion tab for this game on whether your pc can play this game. Personally I've only experienced a glitch with Oswold where he couldn't move or do anything except re-spawn - which was fixable by restarting the game.
My recommendation of the game is probably mostly out of nostalgia
Things I like:
- The core mechanic of the game (at least from Mickeys gameplay) of using a paintbrush to erase things or "paint" things back (thinner vs paint dynamic)
- You can choose paths on your quests, and whether you use more thinner or paint will effect things in the different areas, quests, etc (not far enough into the game to know abt the overall main quest)
- I love the world and character designs and the overall vibe the game achieves
- I mostly like the platforming and the puzzles in the game
Things I didn't like as much
- No co-op for this version of the game
- You can't control or switch to Oswold so anything interesting gameplay wise with him is up to the computer to decide
- The controls can be clunky, aiming the brush takes time to get used to and you will probably end up wasting paint (at least it regenerates)
This is a weird game- originally designed for co-op, but ported to Steam as a purely single player experience with mediocre AI. Pretty much appears to be a clone of the first Epic Mickey game otherwise, but that was game was totally odd as well. Mostly Mickey runs around painting in and thinning objects, completing overly simplistic but vague objectives and cooperating with his AI partner, Oswald who is supposed to electrocute things and help pull switches but usually just jumps to his death and forces you to reload the game to get him to do what you want him to.
The progression in this game is nonsensical. Random sewer drains lead to other areas through "D.E.C." zones which are basically side-scrolling platformer segments full of vintage Disney paraphanalia. Later on you get to a film reel which takes you through another sidescrolling section that takes you to another completely unrelated segment of the map, which is altered by hitting the projector which switches the track Mickey or Oswald are on but take you to the same place with different powerups to pick up. You can also hit the projector a fifth time to end up at a movie theater where you can teleport to other areas but only playing through the unrelated movie sequences. Atop this nonsense there are also four train stations that you have to activate by solving puzzles but can just as easily destroy if you are too late and the earthquake destroys the train stations. The D.E.C., projectors and train stations all feel disjointed and the exploration just feels like a huge mess.
In addition to this, there is a narrator who constantly tells you to do very basic things like "Hit that switch" and repeats himself over and over again. You'd think with all of this there would be some order or direction to anything that you do, but there really isn't. You accomplish things with random wandering with no clear goal of what you're supposed to do, occasionally getting stuck because Oswald isn't following directions or because you were supposed to look for a random thought bubble that triggers a context sensitive action. It would be way better if you could just direct Oswald to do things, but you can't, so the whole game feels like you're waiting on bad AI.
Beyond this the graphics and world design are very creative. If you like classic Disney films, there are countless random references painted into the game world. The game has a weird sort of eerie feeling to it that's hard to explain, like a dream of sorts. There are countless chests to open and "pins" to collect, which do absolutely nothing other than unlock spirits that also appear to do nothing. You can get costumes that alter Mickey's abilities and a couple powerups which is a nice touch. This game is mostly easy exploration and combat with no truly difficult parts, but for some reason the developers made 100% completing this game an absolute nightmare where triggering one dialogue box at the wrong time, even walking into the wrong bush, can ruin your run, which is ridiculous given how easy the core content is. Certain sidequests disappear and when they're gone, they're gone forever. Just playing through the game is kind of a joke but collecting all of the pins and completing the side quests is probably the single most challenging thing in any platform game of this nature because the game is scripted to punish the player for doing absolutely nothing wrong but not knowing what he was supposed to do beforehand.
The game also has a ton of minigames. Some are decent and some are atrocious. The racing minigame may be the single worst racing sequence I have ever seen in a game like this. I think the devs probably were short on time because there's a lot of effort on display here but the execution is all over the place. It's still worth playing if you want to try a Disney-themed platformer with a lot of bizarre and nonsensical stuff in it.
The game looks runs very choppy due to poor optimization. It originally bought it because this game was apart of childhood, but there are too many issues on the steam version. There isn't even CO-OP! They just slapped keyboard keybinding and ported it over to PC. Bon appetit! Co-op is such false advertising for steam. The Oswald Ai is so bad you might as well have your grandma play as him on console with CO-OP. Only thing I liked about this game was the voice lines during cut scenes and when talking to npc's. This game was a complete failure due to Disney time constraint on the developers working on this game. It's so disappointing especially with the team knowing this game needing more time for development. I might get a copy of "Epic Mickey Rebrushed" to see if this remaster of the first is any good. People, don't expect a Rebrushed of the power of two. The game did horrible due to many factors. If any thing, they would make a new sequel or a spin off game.
No co op for some reason 😕
This game would be so great IF it wouldnt crash every minute
I used to play this game religiously on the Wii and I love this game. I was so excited to see it on Steam. Highly recommend.
i love this game, a true childhood memento
