Create a Team of Heroes
Wizards! Robots! Thieves! Recruit a cast of characters to join you on your quest to save Etheria. Each hero brings unique abilities and defenses to the battlefield. Swap between your heroes on the fly to use all of their tools -- even in combat!
Build Your Defenses
Construct a deadly grid of laser beams. Drown your foes in quicksand. Build a wall of flamethrowers and watch the world burn, you sicko. A wide variety of defenses are at your disposal, and you'll need them all to protect the Eternia Crystals from the Old Ones' army.
Shoot and Loot
Leap into battle and get your hands dirty! Grab a sword, a bow or a laser shotgun to blast through hordes of enemies. As you play, you'll find loot and Shards to equip and customize your heroes with. Just beware of the goblin blood. As much as you scrub, the smell never goes away.
See the Sights
In your journey, you'll visit ancient forests, massive castles, haunted temples, active volcanoes, and a surprisingly small number of dungeons for a game named Dungeon Defenders II.
Bring a Friend (or 3)!
Dungeons aren’t meant to be defended alone! Invite your friends to join you in Etheria for four-player online co-op.
More Updates on the Way!
As we did in Early Access, we're going to add more heroes, maps, loot and things to do, and we'll continue to listen to you about how to improve Dungeon Defenders II!

Love this game
I was a huge fan of the original and this is definitely a huge upgrade.
I used to enjoy playing Dungeon Defenders 2, but my experience with the community and developer team has completely ruined the game for me. Here's why:
Toxic Developer Team: The developers are incredibly unprofessional and hostile. Constructive criticism or differing opinions are often met with bans without explanation.
Unjust Bans: Many players, have seen accounts banned for no clear reason. There's no transparency or fair appeal process, making the game feel unsafe to invest time in.
Hostile Discord Environment: The official Discord server is a mess. If you disagree with the developers or moderators, you're immediately targeted and insulted by both staff and community members.
Player Identity Abuse: There are people actively impersonating skilled players, using their names to scam others or spread fake screenshots to damage reputations. The developers have done little to address this issue, which only worsens the toxic environment.
Unresponsive Developers: Trying to contact the developers is pointless. Messages go unanswered, and there's no indication that any complaints or reports ever reach a manager or are properly addressed.
Unless drastic changes are made to the management and moderation of the community, I can't recommend this game to anyone. It’s a shame, as the core gameplay had potential.
This game is undoubtedly pay to win and has several annoying issues, mainly because these are very confusing as a new player:
- making a consistent lobby with friends (you can't just join off steam you have to make a party in the esc menu to keep playing)
- there is a public town and a private tavern that have the same things (making parties was more confusing due to this)
- creating game matches and not realizing they are public (you can make private games but it was kind of hidden and wasn't intuitive to find out how to do it)
- friends timing out when trying to join your private matches
- figuring out what to do after you beat the campaign (there are many tabs of maps to do and some of them will completely destroy you)
- figuring out what maps you've already done before, and how strong you have to be to do them (there is hardly any information about the maps when you click on them)
- the map names and zones are confusing. For example, my friend had 1 adventure map left to do and we had to look up how to see what the last map was in an obscure menu. That map that was listed was nowhere in the adventure tab so we had to guess.
- a kind of overwhelming about of shops in the lobby that aren't really explained at all and seem irrelevant for the beginning of the game (was this because I bought the game when it came out ages ago? not sure)
On top of the confusing issues, you can swipe your credit card on just about anything (buying gold, unlocking characters, powering up your gear/weapons, battle pass, bag tabs, etc etc) and playing solo seems a lot harder than playing with a group (at least at the beginning of the game). There have also been a lot of UI bugs (tutorial text staying on the screen forever) and wonky/bugged out numbers on gear that seem to fix themselves if you restart.
Even with all of these problems that have driven me absolutely insane over the last week lol, this game is still a free co-op tower defense game that looks pretty good and has fun levels and characters. You get to play 4 characters at a time and swap between them during the matches which is enjoyable for strategy setup. Once you get to the very easy/low level cap all of your characters level at once which is a relief. It still gets updated and seems to have an active community. The pay to win is there if you want to skip grinding I suppose, but if you want to defend some dungeons with your pals and have something to grind at this is definitely that game. I don't know why I wrote this whole thing but you can go play it now and see if you enjoy it hehe :))))
horrible ui,
horrible business practices,
you wanna preview a skin in the shop and assume you can by clicking it?
well, oops you didnt pay enough attention and lost $8 by clicking too fast and support tells u all sales are final.
what garbage business practices.
Great game a lot of strategy involved
fun
Good Grind game not too much nor too little
Cool game shit grind wish this company didn't fall from grace.
Recently Chromatic Games released "a fix" (Shard Vaults) to something that was near impossible to handle and the reason I stopped playing, but like expected, it's hidden behind a paywall.
DD2 is made it so everything you need in order to progress takes a hell lot of space (like stacking 10 duplicates of EVERY SHARD, while there's at least a 500), so in order to not throw away something you will need later, you MUST buy all their bags and "premium" stuff. A paid fix to a problem they created, just like heaven is to hell, lol. Worse is, this problem could partly be relieved by allowing those shards to be stacked, but they won't do it because Shard Vaults won't sell as much (and players will even die defending it).
Unfortunately it's one of my favorite (type of) games, but hiding QoL behind paywalls is predatory and not recommended to endorse (and if you do, you get what you deserve).
I'd only recommend playing if you're ready to spend a least $50, definitely not f2p friendly, specially for newcomers.
Btw, those 200h played was AFKing trying to sell items in order to empty inventory space, since there's still no auction house lol.
So I decided to play this with friends because "it's DD! that cool game CaptainSparklez was playing in 2011! and also free!". The thing is that I bought this in 2014-2015, whatever. Apparently I finished some story quests, got some random weapons (Terraria ones!!!), pets, "Early Supporter" skins, some premium currency, characters etc.
I feel completely lost, and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.
It turns out that the only way to completely reset your progress is to create a new Steam account LMAOOO
Also yes, this game uses WoW character system. You can create the same char over and over again with new names. Aboslutely awful system that shouldn't exist. Alas, Warframe seems to be one of the very few (only?) games that ditched this.
There is no way I had a single brain cell working when buying this in early access.
Steampunktress/Red Riding Huntress 4 lyf tho
Wow guys thanks, youve had this game for fucking how many years and you still cant get a boss to spawn properly causing me to lose a mastery game? Fuck you.
it's Dungeon Defenders, dummy. this time it's got micro-transactions instead of 5 billion minor DLC packs, it's cool to have a continuation. The cross-overs are impressive, having grown up with the same games it now has cross-overs for, Dungeon Defenders is definitely a cornerstone for nostalgia in my mind.
Mildly engaging and interesting, but the second I saw the cost of characters (not including costumes) I just couldn't enjoy the game. If you don't mind dropping a lot of money on this, more power to you, but I simply can't recommend it.
is good game
Be ready for a grind
