Jet Lancer is the same thing but infinitely better.
the final missions in this game are complete RNG trash.
A very unique take on a classic arcade style. What's not to love? It's got a gorgeous artstyle, an awesome soundtrack, and incredibly fun gameplay. Very much worth the price.

i've already spent hours in this game, and felt like buying it on steam when it went on sale. this game is incredibly fun and addicting, the gameplay is smooth and top notch, and once you pick it up, you can never put it back down until you've sunken hundreds of ships and jets, it's insane just how refined this game is compared to its flash-based predecessor. the soundtrack, as well. it adapts with every ship you unlock, making for many, many MANY different combinations. it sounds incredibly good, impactful but subtle effects like the music increasing in volume and echoing when you're almost dead are hard hitting and feel amazing. blasting down enemies makes you feel incredibly powerful along with the music, the pixel art style is simple yet very distinct and optimal for a shoot em up like this. it all feels incredibly designed, and i'd say it's worth the money, even at its regular price.
fun bullet hell
Neat take on the Shoot em Up/Bullet hell genre, You get to customize your aircraft with many different body parts and depending on what you pick is how your plane will fly/shoot. There's some pretty cool combinations you can do as you fight endless waves of different varieties of enemies. These can range from your average fighter planes to jets, to boats to battleships. There's tons of variety and depending on how much of a score you've racked up is how much more difficult the game will get. The difficulty ramps up really fast too if you're really good at the game and it feels awesome to dodge bullets and enemies while you fly. The controls take a little bit to get used to though, I was not comfortable at first flying the plane but then I realized that the controls are made in a way to simulate an aircraft in a bit more of a realistic manner.
Get the game if you're interested! Its fun arcade action, there are objectives as well you can complete with every part of the aircraft you unlock as well as a much harder version where all hell breaks loose.
Incredibly fun arcade game that keeps you playing again and again because it's just so damn satisfying.
Most weapons in the game are very fun to use and allow for a lot of different play styles.
The main issue with the game I find is that - should you want to play this completionist style - the balance is off. Some weapons, bodies and engines are wildly overpowered, others are just a novelty or practically unusable. If you want to complete all the missions in the game, the difficulty of missions varies greatly. For example, "Kill 100 enemies (in total)" as an end-game mission is too easy. Within three games you're done. But the earlier mission to kill a blimp with missiles? That'll take you several play sessions, simply because the weapon is so underpowered.
Other missions center around killing special enemies that have a low (1.6%) chance of spawning. In those cases, you'll be testing your patience more than your skill, unless you opt to change the easily editable spawn rules in the games files. (Though that does feel like cheating.)
SFMT mode, a mode that amps up all the enemy spawn rules, is once again a fun novelty that wears off quickly. It's utter chaos. It's silly, and while I welcome a hard mode, but it's so over the top that I never reached a point where I felt like I could actually get good enough to survive for longer than a few minutes. The game just throws too much at you for you to ever stand a chance. And unfortunately, if you want to get all the missions done, you'll be spending a LONG time in this mode trying to check some boxes. By the time you're done you'll be very sick of it.
Overall, this is a great game. I had a ton of fun with it. It holds up, the art style is great. It has some issues, but the less seriously you take it, the more fun you will have.

If made forty years ago this would have been a coin munching machine. It's fun, fast and unfortunately features fascists. Still, though it feels gross to play as such scum and I wouldn't give the dev any more of my money on principle, it's still a decent game. However, I am baffled by the decision to make the missiles unable to lock on to the largest enemies in the game. Seems like either a simple oversight or perhaps some kind of bizarre stroke of spite.
The game has an incredibly fun arcade style of gameplay. The satisfactory points and combo system really helps make continuous runs entertaining. The game doesn't have any other game modes besides fly and shoot. Not a ton of customization, but I think that adds to the charm of the arcade vibe. Overall really enjoyed the game and would recommend it to those that enjoy bullet hell dog fighting.
