Originally released by LucasArts in 1995, Full Throttle is a classic graphic adventure game from industry legend Tim Schafer, telling the story of Ben Throttle; butt-kicking leader of biker gang the Polecats, who gets caught up in a tale of Motorcycles, Mayhem and Murder.
Now over 20 years later, Full Throttle is back in a remastered edition that features all new hand-drawn and 3D high-resolution artwork with 4k support, and with remastered audio and music. Blow your speakers with movie-quality sound and a full digital score featuring the GONE JACKALS - an authentic hard-hammerin' biker band!
Players will be able to switch back and forth between classic and remastered modes, and mix-n-match audio and graphics options to their heart’s desire. Also included is a concept art browser with work from Peter Chan, and a commentary track with the game’s original creators.
Full Throttle was the first game with Tim Schafer as sole project lead, and a much beloved cult classic! This special edition has been lovingly restored and remade with the care and attention that can only come from involving the game's original creators. It’s headed to PS4, PS Vita and PC in 2017.

unfortunately not quite as good as i'd hoped it'd be after a strong first impression, but an undeniably interesting object. schafer demonstrates a ton of ambitions here for his first outing as solo project leader, but perhaps the most notable (and least successful, ultimately) are attempts to inject more immediacy and physicality into the point and click adventure game...often thru extremely abstracted and rudimentary driving/combat sections, or even just regular moments in the point and click interface that require some amount of timing or reaction. even the interaction menu is now communicated with body parts, a very nice touch, though one that ultimately creates a lack of clarity that would be worse if the puzzles were complicated. i suppose thats the other thing...almost everything here feels entirely straightforward in its connective logic, weirdly relying more on the player's execution (thru pixel hunting or ambiguity of input). ultimately this big stack of compromises creates something that is far more finnicky and distancing and even unpleasant than day of the tentacle, or really any other old school adventure game ive played, despite being by far the easiest and shortest of them. still, given that schafer would later pull off this increased immediacy with great success in the world of 3d platformers, its a striking and worthy experiment, and the cinematic ambitions are rly impressive too...wonderful art, mostly solid voice acting, often a real sense of pace and composition albeit in a rudimentary way. but i suppose the other big problem is that the actual contents, aside from some fleetingly endearing character writing, are poorly defined and unmemorable. the worldbuilding in particular feels shockingly kind of poor? unfortunately thinking further ab this game has not rewarded it in my estimation...but i suppose it means something that despite the problems, i had a mostly fine time playing and did get something out of the less quirky, more self-serious tone...it feels rly refreshing for a lucasarts game. on the whole tho, i think this was more a piece of education and an admirable slice of ambition than a piece of art that actually pressed itself into my head
Full Throttle is a great and fun point-and-click game without that much moon logic. It is worth it. Take time to read the end credits.
masterpiece
Among the old school games that got a remastered version, this is one of the 3 old games that I most like and recommend. Remind me the first time I got a CDRom drive which today it´s not so used anymore.
A great, well done remastered made with love. You can change the graphics to the old version with a button and see how it was back in the day comparing with the new version.
Truly a masterpiece.
Please buy it.
I'm not putting my lips on that.
Did you play the original Full Throttle back in the day? The remaster is worth it! If you're new to this it's cool game, with the classic point and click style. The story is rather short, but it's fun! It's a classic, it embrasses and simultaneously makes fun of bikers, it's funny, it's over the top, it's Full Throttle.
If you're unsure, get it on sale and just enjoy a badass biker game!
Great remaster of a LucasArts classic, while Full Throttle isn't as refined as games like Day of the Tentacle or Sam and Max Hit the Road, Full Throttle's plot is engaging and the game is just long enough for its runtime; however, gameplay can be a little awkward, especially on your motorcycle but it may be better on a controller? Overall short but fun LucasArts game with a nice remaster, I'm just hoping soon DoubleFine will remaster The Dig
I love this game so much, but this version is absolutely unplayable! I've got few years ago and couldn't even start the game as as soon as intro cut scene is over it just crashes. Tried it on two different PCs with two different Windows versions, with retro settings, mix of modern and retro... NOTHING WORKED!
Ok... I got my old one running on ScummVM and played it a few times hoping that this one will be fixed. Recently I've remembered that I have bought a remaster so I've tried again. Guess what... IT'S THE SAME THING!!! Now I've tried it on even more PCs, on Windows 10 and 11, again tried playing withe setting in game and nothing helps!
So finally I just pirated it and played it from start to finish in one sitting without any issues.
And then they say we should support the developers...
Nice old game. Did not age very well, especially the action section in the middle, it is pretty terrible to be honest. Apart from that voice acting and animation is great.
Top-notch.
Super fun game
I never dreamed it would actually come to MINIVANS
Fantastic
One of the best adventures from the 90s
It was a fun click story.
One of the best Lucasarts games ever! If you were a fan of the genre of adventure games back in the day, this has changed everything. Voice acting, the jokes, the plot, everything is great about this game.
One of my favorites of all times.
CAN'T EVEN PLAY IT.
I can get passed the intro cutscene and THAT'S IT.
The game gets stuck on a burning skull loading screen and never progresses.
Really upsetting as the original game is really fun.
Easily one of the best point and click adventure games ever made. The story and dialogue are so good it could be a movie. Although, compared to other Lucas Arts Adventure games, the puzzles are not top of the line, but still very good. 9/10
I'm not putting my lips on that
Full Throttle Remastered is a true classic, a true classic with a fresh coat of paint that helps it retain its nostalgic charm and humour.

good flashback
A very well-made remaster of one of the most iconic Point-and-Click adventures! Sadly I won't be able to finish the game as the driving segments didn't age really well and were too difficult/wonky for me.
The new art fits the game very nicely and I can recommend this game to every fan of the genre (who has a higher frustration tolerance than me when it comes to the non-point-and-click-parts).
Неплохой ремастер культового квеста из 90-х про байкера Бена. Квесты ЛукасАртса (да, они выпускали игры не только по Звездным Войнам) вообще выделяется своей ламповостью и атмосферой. Таких игр сейчас не выпускают.
A true classic, still great.
Fantastic cartoon-æsthetic single-player game, set in a dystopian future, and the gameplay is very cerebral, ie. makes you think about what to do next. One of the better parts about this experience is that you're not penalised for making the wrong choice - it lets you do it again until you get it right, and then you move on.
So many flashbacks of playing this game on PC back in 1994 when it launched, and the Steam variant is no different.. still hits in the feels. This game got incredible reviews and ratings at a time when a breakthrough game like this was very hard to come by. LucasArts hit this one out of the park, and the soundtrack is killer too. I still love coming back and re-playing it all these years later, and that's the X-factor that a lot of games these days are missing.
Love the game, not the crashes.
Game crashes a lot. =(
Short, sweet and with fun little bonuses (the concept art is amazing).
A great update to a classic PnC
Full Throttle is a classic point-and-click adventure from LucasArts that blends an intriguing narrative, engaging puzzles, and stunning cinematography. The game’s visual storytelling stands out, with beautifully crafted animated cut-scenes and a solid atmosphere that immerses you into its post-apocalyptic world. The soundtrack, led by the legendary The Gone Jackals, also deserves a mention for setting the tone.
The puzzles are interesting, but the game has aged somewhat. You’ll often find yourself in tableaux where only one or two elements are interactive, which, while iconic for its time, can feel a bit simplistic by today's standards. Despite these quirks, it’s easy to see why Full Throttle has left a lasting mark on the genre.
While the remastered version offers modernised visuals, I found myself preferring the original version, as I am fond of pixel art. Thankfully, switching between versions is a breeze—simply hit F1, and you’re back in the '90s.
On the short side, as other reviewers have pointed out, the game’s relatively brief runtime means you won’t be lost in its world for too long. It’s still a fun experience, but one that leaves you wanting just a bit more.
As much as I admire Full Throttle, I have to say that it’s not quite as enduring as the studio;s other entries like Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle, or Grim Fandango (my personal favourite). Those games still have a deeper impact on me. However, Full Throttle is still a solid entry in the genre that adventure game fans will want to experience, if only to respect the legacy it has built.
Played on Linux. One thing that this game will not throttle is your PC: no crashes to report, apart from those on the asphalt.
Ride on my friends....
hell yeah
Full Throttle is a classic that still holds up. It’s a pretty short game and some of the puzzles can be a bit confusing. The remastered version looks amazing, too. If you’re into point-and-click games or just want a unique, fun adventure, this is a must-play.
I picked it up for pennies in the sale as well so cannot complain at that either.
If you've played the original in the 90's, this will really bring you back, especially with the option to use "classic" graphic style.
I could almost hear the Pentuim cpu whirring away. Classic point and click that will take mere hours to finish,
There was 1 segment that consistently crashed the game. The solution was running the game out of full screen and skipping the cutscene. Dirtbag Vultures.
If you've never played Full Throttle before, try it and see the wonderful mechanics that haven't aged in a day.
Nothing can beat Secret of Monkey Island, but this came pretty close.
Perfect game
Its simple, fun and more laid back.
Pretty sad, I was really excited about playing the game again after such a long time, but it seems that this game has specific problems on AMD CPU and GPU (I have Ryzen 5 7500F and Radeon RX 6800). It constantly crashes already at the start and also during the game. Setting it on classic and windowed mode helped it, or skipping whole cutscenes, but now I am at the Vultures hideout and theres a final crash i can´t get past. I also looked for further help along the internet but I couldn´t find a solution. I tried to get a refund for the game, writing my whole experience but Steam only says that they won´t give a refund because i played it for more than 2 hours. Basically that rule makes sense, but I just can´t finish the game anymore. Poor decision from Steam in my eyes..
So if you got AMD hardware you should think twice if you want to take the risk.
Blast from the past! I played this when it originally came out 30 years ago. Love that this got a remaster and re-release.
Point-and-click puzzle adventures were pretty popular at the time this was originally released, but this one beat them all. With its humor, vehicle mode, and soundtrack, this one was a great hit at the time. So excited to be able to play it again!
It`s one of these games that won`t launch. Even though you have a modern PC with windows 11 and everything working. You`re still at risk of the game not even launching and then you get a bunch of What ifs and Could Give Tries on This Or That so you Might get it running eventually. Time and energy wasted instead of relaxing. I bought this but I`m gonna end up downloading a torrent somewhere with a working version. Thumbs down.
bring back memories, this was one of the first games i had on CD
Masterpiece
I thank The Lord each day for the apocalypse! :)
Overall a good game. Some small bugs and no clear direction on what i am even supposed to do at times but it was fun nonetheless.
Point and click classic
Full throttle is a a hark back to my childhood, where I have fond memories of visiting my dad's quirky and interesting university mates who had cool and cutting-edge computer setups in the early nineties. I remember sitting there in front of a huge CRT playing Full Throttle with a trackball mouse whilst my dad laughed at all the witty one-liners utterly in awe. Of course, we bought our own copy not long after, which I still have to this day.
I come back to Full Throttle often. It's like an easy-listening movie with some puzzles for you to solve. If you're playing for the first time some of the puzzles can take a lot of trial and error, however it's a nice easy-going game where you're never punished. The story has a wit and attitude that I'll never tire of, which I find is missing from many modern titles.
This remaster packages the game into a modern accessible title that integrates with Steam nicely including Achievements and Trading Cards. The updated art is done well; it almost feels like it was always like that until you flick back to the original version(F1 key). It doesn't detract from the mood and atmosphere of the original game, with many assets remaining mostly the same.
The opening sequence, along with a lot of the one-liners, will be etched in my brain for the rest of my lifetime. If you've never played Full Throttle, I highly recommend it just for those alone.
Typically regarded as one of the lesser games of the classical LucasArts point- and click era, the Remaster does a good job of fixing some of the flaws. But some design problems still are left, because fixing them would have meant doting a remake instead of a remaster.
Voice acting and music is good, especially for its time and technical aspects have been faithfully updated without losing he style of the original.
Still, it's a pretty short game and the only difficulty stems from some weid design decisions, like hiding an exit to a different screen in a place, nobody is expecting to to look for, because this location completely contradicts the established layout of the screens. (I am looking at you, magnet crane). So even if you now exactly, what the solution to a problem should be, you miht be fighting against the game to actually make it happen.
Recommended when on sale, but not full price. It's way to short for that.
Great game, easy gameplay, and fun puzzles.
I liked it when it released the first time and was stoked to find it on here. Looked for it on a whim, did a great job remastering it.
I've enjoyed almost every Lucasarts game but this ain't it.
Some of the more interactive puzzles are a nightmare with unresponsive controls and weird physics. The Scumm engine was not made for these types of puzzles.
The remastered art is drab. Everything looks blotchy and uninteresting.
World-building is non-existent as the game drops you into one-and-done zones constantly.
when this released back in the day i think it was my first point and click adventure game ever. the cast the story, the fun puzzles....the remaster is perfect! this game is awesome and I love it to this day! one of my all time favorite games that realy made point and click adventures fun! i wish we could have gotten more of this type of game. (Grimm Fandango , Curse of monkey island)
Mostly good game. The story is good. Slightly unclear on what to do at times.
Cryptic as hell... just like it should be.
