While Sven Co-op is similar to Half-Life with similar weapons, monsters, and characters, the difficulty has been increased to suit team play.
Sven Co-op's levels are set as missions and are generally separate from each other. Many missions span several maps and some are collected together in a series. The aim of most levels is to reach the end or to achieve an objective -- obtaining a high score is not essential to beat a level, it's just part of the fun.

I really like this game, although none of my friends play it. It has a charm to it. The graphics are dated but the AI is pretty good. I heavily relies on cooperation since the enemies are hard to take down on your own, hence the name Sven Coop.
The thing I dislike about this game is that it is not obvious of what the gamemode the servers are. I feel like if they change that it would be a better game,
It's an amazing experience. It's less of a half life experience but more of an entirely different sort of game. While yes, the development team has some contriversy surrounding them, that doesn't change the quality of the game, not only that but the game is free, so there's nothing for you to lose and nothing for them to gain (Just in case you hate the devs that much).
AND before you leave, 90% of the negative reviews on this game are either small reviews made by 6 year olds saying "one map is terrible and the game sucks" (That's an actual negative review I saw) or just negative reviews because of the dev team which, like I said, does not change the quality of the game. Oh, and did I mention the short download time?
Anyways, at that, try it and have fun :D
ok ill make this short. first of all if you like garrys mod then youll like this even better. this is more of the half life story with a multiplayer twist. its really just for playing with friends. it has really old graphics but runs very well. the monsters are hard to kill and give you a chalenge at least. also the characters like to interact with each other in a way and that really draws you in. And the story, oh my word! they are written pretty darn good!, each map has a small story on it and they are very fun.
i totally recomend this by far! enjoy

Probably the most fun multiplayer experience i had, makes Half-Life more enjoyable and fun to play with
especially if one wants to make a funny compilation.

honest to god witth the limited time i have put on this game... while being a half life fan since i picked up a controller (ps2 half life) i have always been a fan this is a love letter to the people who like playing games like HL but also want to meet people and share memories... people here are hilarious and loud so there is plenty of fun to have here 10/10 its free cant go wrong...
Honestly, this is the best co-op steam game I have ever come across. From the great graphics to the great teammates who were willing to shoot and not mic spam, I am astonished to the extent that I will leave a positive review for how great this game is. If you have friends or atleast a friend, download this and play it. You will have the greatest time you have ever had playing this great fantastic game. Thankyou developers for developing such an outstanding game and I am so happy that I was able to play this great game!
fun I really liked playing this with my friend especially since I had always wanted to play the HF campaign with a friend and the mods and retextures that i got with this were awesome too I would recommend to anyone wanting a quick fun coop experiance
Its a good game. This game proves how amazing the community is by having the original Half-Life game followed by other crazy maps and modded campaigns. This game is so amazing.
Not many hours, but I understand the concept.
It's fun with friends for sure, and even alone. It's always fun to go on multiplayer servers aswell.
A lot of servers and a few Modded with a lot of fun and content.
I recommend it.

I play the campeign but the difficulty is high.
But I always die.

well what do I have to say about this game you ask well what I say is that I could spend 1 whole day just playing it its super fun and addicting so hope you make the right thing to do and get THIS GAME!
Sven CO-OP, for being a mod, is one of the most stable games I've ever played. Like, wow this holds up better than most Half-Life 2 mods. Maybe there's just something about GoldSrc? Anyways, it does what you expect it to do, and as stated before, it does it very well! Sven is THE best way to experience Half-Life with friends, both the original game and expansions. Has some lovely remastered models and textures, which you can toggle on and off if you want the true classic experience, or just like the original models and such better. Just like Garry's Mod, there are tons of user-generated maps and such to play as well! Deathruns, parkour courses, custom campaigns, deathmatches, search and destroy- all sorts of things. So grab some friends, call on Discord or use the lovely GoldSrc in-game voice chat, and have fun.
Sven Co-Op allows you to play the great classic Half-Life 1 with your friends for free. Nice, isn`t it?
Very nice game on half life engine! I rly enjoy playing those community crate maps with friends! I recommend! 7/10 (edit- I was 13 when I made this review don't fucking judge meme)
A fantastic multiplayer game based in the Half Life 1 engine. Play some classic map packs from ages long ago or new takes on the old engine. Runs well on almost any pc or laptop. Play with up to 32 people in co-op maps, adventure maps, or good old PvP maps. And all for the low, low price of FREE!
It's OK, not bad, not good. I mean I wouldnt go around telling people to play Sven Co-op, but I mean. It's free, they will probs already have it.
An amazing co-op game if you just want to chill and shoot your way through a map either with friends, or just strangers.
Good, but servers were always empty when I got on. Fun game mod though. It's impressive the scale of the mod and all the potential content it has.
Pros:
1. Half-Life Classic
2. Endless team co-op games
3. You get to drink lots of caffiene
Cons:
1. Graphic Blows (hey it's a classic game, go play with commador 64 then come back)
2. No single player (your not alone anymore)
3. You stay up all night and forget your day job
