A great Story made even better with using a very unique dual stick game mechanic. Short and Sweet.

but every now and then, the world shows its beauty.
Great fun for an indie game

This was an amazing and very touching experience.
This is not local co-op and I don't understand why the remake wasn't just added to our library for free like many other games do.
I bought this game near its launch and have owned it for over 10 years now. I made my initial playthrough all of those years ago but never 100% the achievements. I was scrolling through my library recently and decided to pick this game up once more and fully complete it. The story is absolutely phenomenal, the gameplay is smooth, the puzzles are fun and engaging, overall this game is absolutely delightful. And being able to complete it in about 4 hours start to finish is about perfect for this specific game. It plays more like a movie and 4 hours just works for it.
If you are looking for a quick game to play entirely through in one sitting that has an amazing story and engaging gameplay then this one is for you. They did release a "remake" of this game last year that is probably exactly the same just prettier, however I'd argue the original art style and gameplay makes this game much warmer for the heart. However I didn't play the remake so I cannot say that confidently. If you are looking at this game, understand it is so good they literally made a remake for it 11 years later. It IS short, but it is SO good. After a decade I never forgot the original story and playing through it again to 100% completion was a very enjoyable experience. 10/10
nice coop
A really awesome game, thanks.
小品,解密冒险游戏,全成就很简单,风景很美,剧情一般,游戏里基本没有文本和教程,两个摇杆分别控制两个角色,操作简单但是有点难适应,有点左手画方块右手画圆的感觉。
8/10 game, and would recommend for people who love story-focused platformers with unusual mechanics. The story and attention to aesthetic are forefront, at the cost of janky mechanics (especially if you are playing on a keyboard). It's surprisingly diverse, with both elements of fun and fear.
Nice little game.
A charming SinglePlayer duel stick puzzler. A intriguing world built around a unique platforming adventure.
Easily beaten in less than 3 hours for achievements, memorable story, well worth your time
Too expensive for the time it takes to beat but it's often on sales.
Played it alone 8 years ago and I still remember it being a nice atmospheric and contemplative experience. I'll probably play it again with someone sometime in the future.
A short game that without actual dialog can convey lots of emotions.
Has to be played with a controller, more comfortable to control 2 characters at the same time that way..
cute kinda average puzzle game with the single most heart-wrenching button press I've ever experienced
Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons
Has a total of 5 trading cards.
A kind, in some places naive game, with not the most difficult tasks and puzzles. I was happy to play it in a few hours. I think that any words here are superfluous, just play it.
Played this as a Co-op with my dad 10 years ago. It's still one of my fondest memories of him.
This game is one of the special ones. The developers made something absolutely breathtaking and I do plan to replay the entire game again at some point. The gameplay and puzzles are relatively simple, but the story was so emotionally powerful for me and I recommend this game to all my friends till this day. A very unique experience that I strongly recommend
Nobody reads the reviews for sure, so I'll say I'm gay
Fun game play and puzzle
Sad story
that was brilliant heart felt story
Rating: ★★★★★ - Amazing
Time Played: 3.1 hours
Gameplay:
• Unique dual-character control scheme where you use one stick for each brother; challenging at first but feels rewarding as you progress. This design choice helps enhances the immersion and emotion of the story.
• Puzzles are intuitive and varied, relying on cooperation between the brothers (and your fingers on each side of the controller) to solve them.
• No combat, mostly interaction with the environment which is just as engaging.
Story\Dialogue:
• A heartfelt and emotional journey centred around family, loss, and resilience.
• Story is told entirely without spoken words; characters speak in a fictional language, relying on gestures and tone.
• The bond between the brothers feels authentic and grows naturally as the game progresses.
Graphics\Music:
• Gorgeous, fairy-tale-like art direction with diverse and detailed environments that hold up despite an older engine.
• Each area has a distinct atmosphere, from tranquil villages to Icey battle worn mountains to harrowing, dark 'monster' dens.
• The soundtrack complements the emotional beats perfectly.
Before you Play:
• While I never played the remake, I can confirm that the original is still perfectly playable in the modern day.
• Play with a controller is mandatory; essential for the dual-stick controls.
• Keep your older brother Naia on the left of the screen and younger brother Naiee on the right when navigating to help walking without bumping into walls.
• Perfect to play in one sitting but be prepared for an emotional ending; tissues and a hug required.
• No replayability, but it’s a one-and-done experience worth taking your time and savouring.
great
If you want someone to cry their eyes out gift them this game.
A beautiful game with a great story that hits you right in the feels. Definitely an all time favourite.
Incredibly sad story with an interesting gameplay gimmick.
Astonishing game!
The graphics and the story and the depth of feeling is incredible.
A magical story of two boys who work together and face incredible odds to save their dying father.
Brilliant.
Short, touching story that can only be told through videogames.
Interesting Mechanicas
Good story
Short
It’s short and not hard to complete, it’s got pretty cool Norse mythology-inspired set pieces, you can do little fun side bits for the cheevs like reunite two caged songbirds, goof around with a wacky inventor, save a man from hanging himself, even steal a kid’s ball and throw it down a well, and while it has many tried and true Gare-approved messages, like “the power of family” and “believe in yourself,” I was not prepared for this game to devote a not-insignificant amount of time in its narrative to, as the great Easy-E once said, “trust no lady friend.”
I got spoiled the ending a long time ago and I Still wasn’t prepared for that. What a beautiful game, this is exactly why games are the best medium for immersive storytelling, no words, no dialogue, just amazing visuals with simple puzzle gameplay and amazing music that takes on a journey with the two brothers.
Overall score 9/10
I just finished this game. The non remastered version and IMO didn't really require a remaster as I thought it is good as it is already. The visual, the environment and the gameplay. Puzzle is not too hard, but it does require a bit of getting used to when controlling both characters with one controller. This was actually my second attempt at playing this game as it is a bit boring because they don't speak any form of dialogue. I did enjoy the journey but its not one of those action packed, plot twist and grinding.
SO BAD
A really nice little casual puzzle game. Great story, graphics and game mechanics make for a very pleasing playthrough. Can use either keyboard & mouse or controller; I personally found controller easier. Definitely worth playing!
Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons is a good adventure game with a beautiful story, some nice designs and a great ambiant. I recommend it!!! 💗
The game is an experience that transcends the boundaries of a typical video game. From the very first moments, the game captures you in a world that is at once beautiful and haunting. The story tugs at your heartstrings and leaves you with a lingering sense of awe. What makes Brothers so emotionally impactful is how it silently tells its story. The game doesn't rely on words but rather on visual storytelling, movement, and atmosphere.
There is the moment—a heartbreaking moment—that cuts deeper than any spoken word could. It’s a moment that echoes with a profound sense of loss, sacrifice, and love. Without spoiling too much, let’s just say that Brothers doesn’t shy away from the rawest of emotions, and it doesn’t hold your hand when it comes to confronting the darkest parts of life.
The soundtrack, too, is a masterpiece. It elevates every scene, swelling with emotion during the highs and becoming hauntingly delicate during the lows. The music becomes an extension of the brothers’ journey, as much a character in the story as they are.
By the time you reach the end of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, you may find yourself wiping away tears, overwhelmed by the beauty of the journey and the emotional weight it carries. It's a game that stays with you long after the credits roll, leaving an indelible mark on your heart. In a world full of grandiose blockbusters and flashy visuals, Brothers reminds us that sometimes the most powerful stories are the quietest ones.
P.S. If you can't play with your controller or your controller is not supported, you can try "DS4Windows".
jozef fares kafaya takmış aga adam her oyunun sonunda milleti ağlatmaya and içmiş resmen.
Took 20 minutes to get to the point where I realized this game is unplayable.
Worst settings and options of any game I've ever played
Lovely game.
Years ago I took a clown workshop on how to improvise gibberish that sounds like real language. Because of that, the brand of Simlish this game uses kind of annoyed me. Too many words are short and end in vowels, so it all sounds more like baby babble instead of a real tongue.
That and a few visual bugs are basically my only nit-picks in this otherwise wonderful game. It's so clever, so well considered. The fantasy elements and non-verbal storytelling are inspired. It's very affecting, with story that ties in beautifully with mechanics: Brothers is just the kind of gaming experience I love. I bought it way back when TotalBiscuit was always bringing it up, and I'm so glad I finally pulled it out of the backlog and gave it a go. Great game.
A nice, quick point-and-click with a cute but simple main plot.
As I write this, I see a notice below that the game requires a controller, and though it's been some years I definitely didn't need one when I played it.
charming game with very pretty level design
To be fair this is a well written game, I enjoyed the story telling and the manner in which it was told. However, as a far as game play goes, and particularly on keyboard this was annoying. Also speaking of controls that thing in the epilogue where they switch the keybinds on you, not intuitive at all.
Make sure to use a controller
SPOILER-FREE:
I would call this game the videogame-equivalent of a "short story" (and a damn good one at that in my books): It focuses on a single aspect which it tries to express and then solely focuses on that and cuts away all the extraneous bits. And I am very impressed with
a) how far they took their central feature and
b) how well they used the specific opportunities of videogames as a medium to make this point (and chose to forego medium non-specific avenues).
I'd also be remiss if I didn't point out how well that game still looks more than 10 years later! Moreover, the way the game guided you through the levels without waypoints etc. was maybe not mind-blowing, but consistent and consistently good.
So for people who are generally up for story-based games - or maybe 'atmospheric' - and who do not mind games with a short runtime (I finished in less than 3 hours), I can recommend this wholeheartedly. I absolutely felt like I got my money's worth. Even more so, for people who have a knack for exploring innovative approaches to videogames as a medium, this is a must!
Great little game, art style is cute and game play unique, had it on the PS4 and never finished it but did here!
