From 25 January 2024:
Online features will no longer be available for this product.
About the Game
Trials Evolution: Gold Edition marks the Trials franchise’s triumphant return to the PC gaming platform. RedLynx’s signature franchise, the Trials series first made its mark in gaming with the 2008 release of Trials 2 SE for the PC. That breakout indie success led to further success on the Xbox, but ever since then PC gamers have been clamoring for more Trials. Trials Evolution: Gold Edition is what they have been waiting for.The Gold Edition Is Two Trials In One
Trials Evolution: Gold Edition will contain all the content of the original, best-selling XBLA game Trials Evolution. In addition, all of the single player tracks and skill games from Trials HD will be found in Trials Evolution – effectively doubling the content offering with two complete games, neither of which have ever before been available on PC.
OPTIMIZED AND ENHANCED FOR PC
Trials Evolution: Gold Edition will be optimized and enhanced for the PC gaming platform. All of the features of its forerunners – from the in-game editor, player sharing of tracks, and global Leader Boards, will be re-integrated into the game in a way that fits the new platform.

sick innit
First Trials game that I played and what made me fall in love with the series. Bikes feel good and the tracks are all around fun. Really dislike tournaments though, which are basically gauntlets of multiple tracks.
I bloody love this game.
It has me and my son once again playing together... Something I sorely miss
Best of the best Trials!
Pretty dope. Nice that achievements are on Steam now.
Sometimes infuriating, but incredibly fun at the same time. Would HEAVILY recommend getting it IF it's on sale, due to the online servers having been shut down.

Great game.
A good game and my personal favourite Trials game. I've revisited it this week since they added the Steam achievements and I have done all of them except for Marathon because this version of the game is not as up to date as the Xbox 360 version I grinded as a kid.
I wholeheartedly recommend the game if you do not care about the DLC or if you do not have any way to access the console version. However I must state I do feel the need to discuss the state of the Marathon achievement and that is what the rest of this review will be about, if you do not care about Steam achievements this is the end of my review.
What is the issue with Marathon? This version of the game has the old version of the Ultimate Endurance Tournament which was later updated on the Xbox 360 to remove the hard tracks and reduce the track count from 24 to 20. Prior to the change to the Ultimate Endurance Tournament I believe something like 40 people had the Marathon achievement on the Xbox 360, one of the rarest achievements there has ever been in a relatively popular game.
Changing the Ultimate Endurance Tournament in order to make the Marathon achievement more realistically attainable was a good call back in 2012 or whenever it was done and it's kinda crazy that they've just added the achievements to Steam and left it as the hard version of Marathon.
To be clear, Marathon is not impossible but anyone that values their sanity would not go for it in this version. I would not go for it in this version.
I bought it for the achievements, but they didn’t work.
I'm glad that they integrated Uplay - sorry, Ubisoft Connect - so I could give this game a negative review without feeling bad.
Trials Evolution: Gold Edition is a really really good first 60% of a game. I first played it under its initial title of 'Bike Mania 2' on one of those flash game websites. But I'm glad the Trials people looked at the success of those games and made a big proper one out of it. I DO wish that they had improved the controls from a free, floaty flash game, instead of making them worse, but we can't have everything.
When Trials Evolution: Gold Edition is good, it's fantastic. Simple controls but with a lot of depth, beautiful and creative levels that are really fun to play through again and again, improving your times, and even some decent mini-games. Make no mistake; this is a good game.
The problem is that when you get into the challenging parts, you realise that the controls... suck? The handling and traction on the more advanced bikes would be utterly terrible if they even existed in the first place. It's so bad and so frustrating when you'll constantly find yourself in positions thinking "It looks like I should be able to correct myself here!" but you can't, because you're leaning very slightly to the left, which either means leaning right - because your bike has the weight of a cheeseburger then the whole thing flips forwards and your back wheel is no longer touching the ground and you are entirely out of control - or continuing to lean left - the entire bike flips over backwards, and sometimes you can even keep driving it for some distance while almost entirely upside down, as if the game is mocking you, pretending that you aren't dead yet, when you undoubtedly are.
That said, I enjoyed this game way too much on the whole to give it a negative review, which is why I'm glad they made Ubisoft Connect mandatory, so I don't have to feel bad about it. Devs, no-one likes your garbage launchers in addition to Steam. No-one. Stop. Nobody likes it. We all hate it. They added achievements to it recently, and surprise surprise; they don't work. So that's fun. There's also a special unlockable bike, but you can only get it by getting a Uplay achievement! The achievement never worked for me despite fulfilling the criteria three times, so that's just some more permanently locked content.
Fantastic game, had a ton of fun playing, but Ubisoft Connect is trash, as the levels get harder, it's more noticeable how terrible the controls are, and some of the basic features just don't work. Also it consistently fails to save to Ubisoft's Cloud whenever you close it.
OH, UBISOFT!
VERY GOOD GAME I DONT RAGE LIKE I DO ON THE OTHER ONES THIS IS VERY CALM LUH CHILL GAME ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS BUY IT NOW
a decent port of some of the greatest games of all time, sadly the leaderboards are no longer running, still Trials Evo is just about perfect.
The Ubisoft launcher says I don't own the game, so I guess I can't even launch it.
I don't care what you think about the game, Ubisoft launcher needs to go.
Great game, but plagued with the mandatory Ubisoft Launcher.
Too bad, i cannot recommend :/
Whoever made that sewage level go f**k yourself (you should be fired)
This place is a graveyard of my childhood memories, and Ubisoft is the grim reaper. Fuck this company and everyone who works for them.
People don't stfu about ubisoft, I couldn't give two shits, the game still works and is still a blast.
requires ubisoft account to play offline wtf
I Like Triials i like fire i like danger
Great game, remember putting in dozens of hours back on 360, online servers are no longer online, but you can find backups online of lots of tracks that used to be available.
Very enjoyable game where you do random stunts on dirt bikes in different locations and various tracks. It's nice you can even do ragdoll movements when you jump from your bike. There are a few challenges involved when you complete the tracks but that's what makes the game intriguing. Only sad thing is that Steam doesn't support achievements for this game but that's just a minor inconvenience.
would love to play this game, requires uplay.
why do i need to have uplay for this game. i love this game but this just hurts it so much. i would need to sign in every time like why. then i looked up how to get rid of uplay and all i got was ermmmm too bad you need this trash on your pc.
FUCK YOU UBISOFT
Actually one of THE best Trial games out there, before they went to Trials Fusion and then Trials Rising, With it comes new and old content from Trials HD. It's a timeless masterpiece with the physics and game play, with bikes ranging from better speed to better control, it's all about how fast you are and how good you are. The maps are really fun to play and the harder levels can prove quite the challenge. Player customisation is available for a wide range of looks and styles. Sadly you do have to mess around with Ubisoft's launcher thingymabob and people can find it infuriating for a game that no longer needs an online service has to use an online thingymabob to get working. And also getting the game working for the first time is REALLY annoying, you have to access the DLC manager to then get your steam key to then get the game working, Yes. You buy this game you don't even have access to launch it because you have to find the STEAM KEY you get to get into it, even though you JUST bought the game. It's very ridiculous and had me lost for 10 minutes thinking I just bought a game I couldn't play.
Personally this game shaped my childhood and will forever be remembered at a legendary game
PS: This game needs Steam achievements (Rayman Legends got them recently as typing this review so can my brother Trials Evolution get some too?)
I bought this game way back in 2013. I haven't bought or played any other Ubisoft game since then. Upon going to re-play this game, it is asking me for the password to an account with an email address I no longer own. I now own a brick.
feel like playing trials
install trials
ubisoft login please!
uninstall trials
classic
Great Game that i was rly looking forward to play again..... but i was greeted with the Ubisoft Connect Launcher despite the Store Page not telling you it needs an Ubish*t acc + an online connection to play a 12 year old game. Not to mention it Installs the Ubisoft connect software on your pc. Thanks Ubishi*t for ruining such a Cult Classic. also fix the f*cking store page and make a proper disclaimer about the bundled software
Physics
Its trials, is it the best one... Imho Trials HD was. Its not all there, no online, no track central, no leader boards, not all the dlc tracks from Trials HD. Get it on offer is the best bet.
fun as heck
!!!!!!

Great game, the amount of content has depreciated over the years since servers are shutdown and the community made awesome tracks back in the day.
Here's hoping Redlynx would make another good Trials at some point with either Steam Workshop or some other external service that doesn't rely on Ubisoft. They've shown that they will shutdown servers or games regardless and not relying on their servers would future proof these sorts of games indefinitely.
ubislop slopware
childhood memories......and the game's still beautiful now
Trials Evolution is still the best Trials game ever! I used to play this game a lot on the XBOX 360 back then! The tracks are so awesome and well designed, the multiplayer is fun, the customization is great, the wacky and fun skill games are the best in the series and the music is pretty good!
Not only that but Gold Edition has also included the base content from Trials HD which is pretty cool so that's a plus but it's quite a shame that the HD and Evolution DLC is not there though.
Sure, Gold Edition does have its issues such as the servers being offline but that doesn't affect my experience because it's still the game that I know and love! Trials Evolution is a top tier Trials game, peak, absolutely peak! So much replay value if you want to go for new records and those gold/platinum medals!
The only thing that annoys me is Uplay or something to launch the game up. This game deserves a modern remaster for next gen consoles and PC. It could be a way to bring back the Trials series.
no longer works
goated game
Trials games are always fun. They need to make this available in the Xbox store again. I can't believe Trials HD got a physical release. But Trials Evolution didn't.
its a older game that still has its charm
This game was my childhood
cant play game i paid for thanks you fucking retards
my memory of TRIALS EVOLUTION was me spending time in my room, on a small-ish tv screen, making my weird little guy jump off his bike and break all his bones and bounce with ragdoll physics. i love ragdoll physics.
coming back to it, and playing basically the whole thing, wow! what a fun little game, very enjoyable. love the bike physics puzzles
only real complaint is that in the trials hd levels the physics are a bit weird since i think theyre just straight ports of the hd levels and dont really account for updated bike physics
also they never ported the dlc to pc because haha surely the xbox 360 store will last forever right. right? haha.
i like it
The game is great, buy it after Ubisoft goes out of business.
its good, but ubisoft are ass for not putting the dcls in as well as them turning off online features
Great game, the amount of content has depreciated over the years since servers are shutdown and the community made awesome tracks back in the day.

-Track editor
CONS
-No multiplayer
