About the Game
Shy schoolgirl Lilli is having a tough time at the convent. Only her imagination helps her to escape from the strict rule of Mother Superior. But when her best friend Edna disappears under mysterious circumstances, Lilli has to rise above her own and face a tough journey to not only get her friend back but also confront her subconscious fears.Lilli, a young girl at a convent school, is the main character of Edna & Harvey: Harvey’s New Eyes. Apparently the best-behaved little girl in the world, she executes all her tasks diligently, no matter how unfair they may be. Her innocent, imperturbable way of carrying out the orders of others has something both tragic and eerie about it. Any resentment, any childlike disobedience is buried deep beneath a seemingly impenetrable shell of sweetness. But how long until this shell will fissure?
And where do the friendly little Censor-Gnomes come from that paint over anything upsetting in Lilli’s vicinity with a pleasant pink color? Are those potato-shaped fellows real or just a product of her subconscious?
All things considered, it seems merely a matter of time until Lilli is going to crack up.

An absolute gem of a game and on sale for only $2 right now. If you love dark humour, witty writing, a whimsical art style and the nostalgia of the point-n-click games we all played as a kid, this is the game for you.
I played this game when it came but forgot most of the story details. AM I GLAD I FORGOT because, my god, this was a delight to experience with new eyes (GEDDIT) for a second time. It touches on a lot of darker subjects like abuse, loneliness, how we as a society treat children, and the trauma that stems from it. It's actually really deep and satirical underneath all the wonky art and jokes. Like the first game, Edna & Harvey both hold a very special place in my heart.
A Dark and Delightful Adventure! 8/10
"A game that blends cuteness with a sinister atmosphere..."
Edna & Harvey: Harvey’s New Eyes is a point-and-click adventure that seems to cater to a younger audience with its colorful, cartoonish design. However, it’s a game that’s far from just child’s play, as it offers a compelling and slightly macabre atmosphere that can be enjoyed by players of all ages. The quirky characters, clever puzzles, and engaging narrative make it an excellent choice for anyone looking for an enjoyable and challenging game.
Despite a few technical hiccups, the game is still a solid and fun experience.
Let’s start the review!
Game Mechanics
The point-and-click mechanics in Harvey’s New Eyes are easy to grasp, but they provide a good level of challenge. The puzzles are well-crafted and vary in complexity, keeping the gameplay fresh and interesting. The game encourages exploration, and the satisfaction of solving puzzles feels rewarding.
One of the most innovative mechanics is the use of Harvey, the talking rabbit, as a central gameplay element. Harvey is used in various ways throughout the game, and his role adds a unique twist to the puzzles and interactions. This mechanic is a standout feature of the game and adds to its charm.
Unfortunately, I did encounter a bug during my playthrough. When attempting to speak with the Shaman, I got stuck, not realizing at first that it was a glitch. This issue, which is widely known, was never patched, so I had to download a save from another player’s file to proceed. This was frustrating, especially since I had spent hours trying to figure out what went wrong.
Designs
Starting with the level design: The game has a distinct style that’s full of color and personality. Despite its cartoonish appearance, there’s an underlying eerie vibe throughout, with unsettling moments hidden behind the game’s cheery exterior. The environments are full of little details that enrich the story and provide clues to the puzzles. Each location feels thoughtfully designed, making it enjoyable to explore and interact with.
Graphics: The graphics are vibrant, yet they manage to maintain a dark undertone, especially in certain scenes that take on a more surreal, unsettling vibe. The animations, while limited due to the game’s age, still work well within the game’s atmosphere. They might not be as fluid as modern titles, but their charming, cartoonized style evokes a nostalgic feeling, reminiscent of old animated cartoons. This retro point-and-click style adds a certain charm, complementing the quirky tone of the game and enhancing the overall narrative.
Characters: The characters in Harvey’s New Eyes are one of its greatest strengths. Edna, the protagonist, is a strong-willed and quirky girl who is always up for an adventure. Harvey, her stuffed rabbit, adds a humorous and often mysterious presence to the game. Each character has its own distinct personality that makes them memorable, and the interactions between them feel genuine and engaging.
OST/Sound: The soundtrack fits perfectly with the game’s tone—lighthearted yet eerie when needed. The music is playful but can shift to a more intense, dramatic atmosphere when the story takes a darker turn. The sound design complements the quirky world, enhancing the overall experience without being intrusive.
Scenery: The game’s world is whimsical, with vibrant colors and exaggerated proportions that contrast with the darker elements in the story. The environments feel alive, and the attention to detail in the backgrounds adds to the immersive experience. The setting transitions from lighthearted to unsettling as the story progresses, keeping the player on their toes.
Puzzles: The puzzles are one of the highlights of the game. They are not overly complicated, but they do require some thought and experimentation. The challenge is balanced well—just the right amount of difficulty to keep you engaged without becoming frustrating. There’s a good mix of inventory-based puzzles and logic problems that will make you think and explore your surroundings carefully.
Story: The story in Harvey’s New Eyes is captivating and full of surprises. It starts off as a seemingly simple adventure but gradually unravels into something more profound and darker. The plot twists and character development keep you hooked throughout, and the emotional payoff is worth the journey. The final act of the story was especially surprising, and it left me thoroughly impressed by the way the narrative developed.
Collectables/Achievements
Harvey’s New Eyes features achievements that are challenging but not too difficult to obtain. The game encourages exploration and problem-solving, which is key to unlocking these achievements. I found the pursuit of these rewards to be satisfying and not overly tedious, unlike some other games that require you to do repetitive tasks to complete the achievement list.
I am about a third to a half way through Harvey's New Eyes, and can already tell this is a recommended game based on my likes. The game is adorable, hilarious (dark and witty humor driven), and also disturbingly intriguing.
I have had zero performance issues with the game so far, giving me a problem free gaming experience.
I absolutely love the voice overs and voice acting. The music is also a hit.
In all, this is an easy recommend for me. If you like mouse driven games with an interesting story and dark humor, this game will be a hit for you.
Like this game despite the fast that bug with shaman is present
It's fun, but it's too buggy, there is this puzzle with a shaman that doesnt work properly if you dont do some things in a certain order... i had to waste my time replaying one hour worth of game to go back and do something differently- no patch, nothing. It was really frustrating. Besides that, it was fun; as I said, the humor very dark especially chapter 1, might not be for everyone... some of the puzzles are too illogical and weird: hey, you want a key card? lets just find some random cloth, put some chemicals on it so it becomes stiff and then make some holes in it... thats how it becomes a card XD good I dont mind using a walkthrough. I enjoyed the first game waaaay more. Even if it was enjoyable at times; I will not play it again
Truly a masterpiece! This was one of the first games I ever 100%ed, if not the first, back in 2016-7 and probably one of the few I finished all the way back then. The art in this one looks even more fitting for the Edna and Harvey world than the first one and the whole atmosphere feels amazing. This one does feel more linear, however, and in a way kinda smaller in the sense that you never get that feeling of traversing a huge place as the asylum in the first game, maybe in some ways because you don't have all the random interactions you could do with Edna that didn't give you progress but some charm and freedom instead. Same goes for the open-world puzzles which weren't as hard, but it does make up for it with the mini-game puzzles that were pretty fun. The story's great as well, the way Lilli finds her voice (if you get the right ending), the way how they've made the world of imagination and the main connected with the in-between after death, and Lily's defense mechanisms protecting her from the few oopsie daisies she had with people and the hostile environment she's growing up in as well. One pretty cool detail that I missed when I first played it and also in the first Edna and Harvey is how Petra and Peter complete each other in their relationship to form a bipolar disorder, since one has depression and the other mania.
a charming style and fun adventure, this sequel is awesome and if there is a third one I'd gladly play it a thousand times over just like the first and second game, Edna and Harvey is a charming adventure full of twists and turns and dark humour and surreal comedy, i love everything about it
There is a bug that drained all the fun from the game. I got soft locked and cannot progress. I see an attempt of support form the dav, but I just don't understand why the davs won't just update the game to get rid of that bug. I mean, the game have been out for years, and the davs are aware of it... Luckily I can solved this issue by reload a previous saved game, but it's happening so late game and it already drained all the fun of me. Not happy :(
Love the point and click fun, Challenging puzzles but not over the top. Look for dialog clues when you are stuck.
Great sense of humor, and giving the option to skip mini games is a definite plus

Game with humor.
Encountered the game-breaking bug, and since I try to avoid walkthroughs, wasted so much time trying to figure out what went wrong. I found out this bug has been around for years and still isn't fixed. I stopped playing as the frustration was topped with the fact that the devs never bothered to fix it, so why should I continue to play a game they clearly don't love. Can't recommend with the bug still around.
Good Game
a very interesting and fun game
Having played all the Deponias now, I am very much in-tuned to Daedalic's style and humor, so this was a delight to play.(I'm hoping I can find the other Edna & Harvey's, didn't know there were others)
I'll admit I cheated at most of the mini-games just because of my lack of patience, but I'm so glad to see there was a "skip" option also on all of them.
Standout moments: Getting Harvey to react to everything, unfortunately it's only at the end. Lilli embracing anger, but only usable a couple times! Twist at the end was good.
Nitpicks: The music volume was too loud, sometimes I couldn't hear somebody talking.(menu slider doesn't seem to effect it) The kid Lilli had a crush on went invisible, but luckily his interactions are small. Narrator voice was a bit grating, probably the "radio DJ" sound of it. Something more creative like a Werner Herzog voice would have been nice!
Long like adventure gaming!
Das beste Adventure! Sehr charmant und super interessante Charaktere :)
Exactly how I remembered it! Actually played this without playing the first one and was a little confused, but it made for a fun experience all the same. A lotta fun for all ages :)
Absolutely love this game! I've played this in German when I was about 8 years old because my mom played it and I was curious so she let me play lololol and it obviously traumatized me but I still loved it and the English translation is amazing too because usually translations of jokes aren't really funny but in this case they still managed to keep the humor in which is just great! The only downside is that the part with the shaman doesn't work because a dialogue option is missing and it seems like that's a problem that a lot of people are having, but the game itself is still amazing!
Macbre puzzle game with good challenges.
I love point and click games, and i think edna is a very funny character. i haven;t finished this game yet so once i do i will update my review. But i have very much enjoyed this game so far
This game has an indescribably black sense of humour.
The voice acting is excellent.
The picture quality is outstanding.
It's really hard to make me smile, but this game manages it all the time.
A pleasure.
The first chapter took 3 hours. There are 2 more, so plenty to do.
A clear recommendation to buy! A masterpiece that is hard to find a second time.
Amazing! I loved the story. I have a love/hate relationship with "up to interpretation" stories but it has enough clues for me to headcannon things as to not rip hairs trying to piece together what really happened.
As for the puzzles, I wouldn't have a say on their difficulty, since I followed a guide to get achievements XD. Granted, I do think a lot of them are a bit easier compared to Breakout, but the mini-games? That's an entirely different story, Thank goodness the developers added a skip button.
My most GREATEST gripe with the game are the ACHIEVEMENTS. Most of them include tedious, repetetive, and boring things. It's basically just "do this a thousand times". At least in Breakout you would at least get a little dialogue or something to snicker at, but here, it's nothing but monotanous work. But hey, those are only meant for really sick individuals like me.
I also wish there was more dialogue options. My favorite feature of The Breakout was that you could combine ANYTHING. and Edna or Harvey would have something to say about it. Here, the developers cut a bit more corners regarding dialogue, making combinging random items have more generalised responses. Although that might be asking a bit much.
Nonetheless, it's worth playing
so cute but so depressive at the same time. crazy
10 out of 10. This was as weird and wacky of Daedalic Entertainment's other key games , like deponia. I loved it.
"Edna & Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes" is a Point and Click game in which you play as Lilli and Harvey.
You guide the shy schoolgirl Lilli through a tough time at the convent. Only her imagination helps her to escape from the strict rule of Mother Superior. But when her best friend Edna disappears under mysterious circumstances, Lilli has to rise above her own and face a tough journey to not only get her friend back but also confront her subconscious fears.
I really loved the Soundtrack and the Artwork of the game it made the game even more athmospheric.
I loved the little Censor-Gnomes!
It took me around 5,1 hours to finish the game with all achievements (some of them are missable, i got the most on the second run). I didnt find all of them on my own tho, i needed a guide for some of them.
But it was worth it. also i think my money was well spend on this game. I got it for 1,99€, when the whole bundle was on sale, i would have bought it for more money but a sale is a sale right???.
I really recommend this game, go try it out now!!!
Wooogiiieeee
