If you love puzzles and having your mind thrown with a potato, this is it.
10/10. Instantly one of my favorites.
good puzzler
thoroughly uninteresting
Antichamber is a first-person puzzle game, similar to Portal and Talos Principle.
Antichamber was intimidatingly obtuse and minimalistic at first. It provides very little guidance or information, and relies on the player to figure out the rules of the world by observation, experimentation, and intuition. However, once I got rolling and immersed myself in its weird logic and non-Euclidian geometry, it became incredibly satisfying to figure things out. I am proud to say I finished every puzzle without looking up any solutions!
Antichamber has that incredibly rewarding dimension of "knowledge-based progress", similar to Outer Wilds, Tunic, etc. If you're willing to pay attention, discard assumptions from other games, and think hard, Antichamber is thrillingly rewarding!
A Mind-Bending Experience
Antichamber is a unique puzzle game that challenges your perception of logic and space. With a minimalist style and a surreal world, each puzzle forces you to think unconventionally. It’s easy to pick up and hard to put down, keeping you hooked.
What truly stands out is the sense of discovery: each level tests your creativity and patience. I wish I could forget the experience of playing it so I could relive those moments of awe from the beginning, but I’ve still ended up playing it from start to finish several times.
Verdict: If you enjoy mental challenges and don’t mind thinking outside the box, Antichamber is an experience worth having.
The seminal 3d puzzle game; a requisite for truly understanding the games which came after it. Simple and stylish, with surprisingly great writing.
Fun puzzle game that requires thinking outside of the box
First played this game near release in a competition with a friend to see who could beat it first.... Spoiler alert; We both gave up after it melted out brains. I attempted it again years later and was able to finally Beat it. What a fantastic puzzle game. 10/10
this game is somewhere between minecraft and portal. all without having buttons or cube droppers. really a must play for puzzle fans.
One of those really good puzzle games that is challenging but doable (almost) without a word of explanation; just by letting the puzzles do the talking.
Very frustrating experience. Placing blocks is finnicky and never responded the way I wanted or expected, got stuck in a door, block got stuck under elevator making it inoperable; both causing resets.
Sequel please
Game altered my brain chemistry. Waiting patiently for sequel
astonishing. awesome. Antichamber <3
first time I've ever launched this game was in 2021. my elder bro found and old installer from his childhood and gave it to me. I spent a whole night beating these puzzles until I finally got to the ending.
then I decided to by this on steam to support the developer. and here I am - writing this review in 2025.
9/10 AHHHHHHH MY EYES THERE'S NO DARK MODE
incredible game
Brain go burrrr :3
The puzzles:
The kinds of puzzle games I enjoy the most are when a small amount of simple and predictable mechanics are used to make more and more complex levels using interesting level design.
This game was almost as far from that ideal of mine as it possibly could have been. There were dozens of unrelated mechanics. A few places I found felt like they might be building up to puzzles that expand upon previous interesting ideas, but I could not find any, the game just kept throwing novelties at me that are used maybe a single other time later on from what I saw.
So nothing felt like it was building up to anything and it felt meaningless and tedious. Maybe mechanics get a tiny bit of compounding complexity later on, but with the sheer amount of novelty after novelty, I doubt any of them are explored to any real depth at all.
The dialogue:
None of it felt like it had any point at all to me. It felt like flavour text just for the sake of having a bit of flavour text. I did not get any sense of purpose to anything from the dialogue either.
So basically, I saw a lot of things in this short time, but everything felt so meaningless that I never got any nice brain food to think about, which means exploration got tedious very quickly, so I just stopped playing.
I recommend this game to all portal lovers.
This is a portal-like puzzle game, with optical illusions and out-of-the-box logic intensive riddles.
The graphics use a cel shading abstract style, and the game is a work of art, and literally contains an art exposition inside.
This is a pure puzzle game, as it has no plot.
However, puzzle solutions often reward the player with zen-like aphorisms and doodles.
The solutions never felt obtuse, but the logic of the red weapon block spawning trick took a while to understand.
The sound design is mostly ambient noises which one to meditate the solutions. It never felt out of place, and I could not thing of a more appropriate kind of musical accompainment through this game
I have completed the game, meaning that I have all the doodles.
I did not use solutions until I reached the end of the game.
Then I started to complete it helping myself with YouTube videos.
Those were not really necessary, as it was mostly to quicken the process.
Finding the secret dev rooms, however, was a challenge that would have taken more time without any help.
Great Game
It is a good game.
Done.
Good game.
Excellent concept.
Simple graphics.
Absolute brainbender. I sorely wish I could play this for the first time again, because the sheer volume and quality of lateral solutions and a-ha moments was -- at the risk of sounding incredibly pretentious -- intellectually captivating.
If you like abstract puzzlers, this one is a must-buy.
If you have played The Witness and liked it, this game is similar.
Antichamber has easily become one of my all time favorite games. If you like puzzle games with interesting mechanics to use to solve those puzzles, this is a game for you. You will get stuck. You will be revisiting places over and over again. Space doesn't make sense, the map connects in places that shouldn't. It's amazing. I love the sound effects that play when you use the block gun and I love the ambient noise.
I played this game in 2025. This came out in 2013. It was way ahead of its time and still is. This is a trippy game that doesn't make sense most of the time, yet when it finally clicks, everything else starts to make more sense and become clear.
Worth the full price in my opinion.
absurd
Excellent and strange puzzler involving non-euclidean goodness.
Very weird, abstract puzzle game. I recommend letting it sit with you for a while between sessions, so you can figure shtuff out.
If life were a puzzle game, that game would be Antichamber. Antichamber had everything I was looking for in a puzzle game. It challenged my way of thinking in a way that really got the brain juices flowing. The only part I didn't like was how short it was. I beat it in about eight hours.
Very good puzzle game which challenges your sense of direction, space awareness and creativity. Highly recommended!
One huge mindfuck. Loved it.
Good puzzles
Superlative single player puzzle game, rounded out well with tidbits of humor and widom.
Highly recommend.
Great game. The one problem I had with this game was that after the first 4th of the game, I had to heavily rely on walkthroughs to finish the game. Overall though, this is a solid game with awesome minimalistic graphics and some super cool mind bending gameplay. It's just that (in my opinion,) you need to be a genius to beat it.
Absolutely EXCELLENT puzzle game, the atmosphere is just right and the challenges are great! There is also a lot of additional content to explore apart from the main "storyline". Usually hidden or locked behind even harder puzzles.
It could use some simple in-game menu with simple settings. If it crashes on startup, try running "GAME_DIRECTORY\Binaries\Redist\physx\PhysX-9.12.0613-SystemSoftware.msi" and follow the simple installation instructions. That fixed it for me!
I enjoy puzzles, this one is not trivial, had a lot of fun
this puzzle game is exhausting and frustrating , dont recommend this, been trying for hours , dont understand what to do next.
One of the best puzzle games I've ever played. Very satisfying.
Got the second block gun, found a hallway, had alot of blocks i didnt want to take into the area that clears them from inventory. so i started covering the walls with blocks, then the ceiling, and then when i did the floor they suddenly started filling in the hallways entirely. my game promptly crashed as the blocks started to merge with my sole. I think i got the good ending lmao 10/10 mostly just boot this game to confuse my friends.
Antichamber is one of the most unique and mentally challenging games I've played. It requires a lot of abstract thinking and creative critical-thinking to solve a variety of puzzles. The alternate physics and logic-breaking level design kept me intrigued and amused.
The puzzles here are different than the real-word physics puzzles from a game like Portal, but they're equally satisfying to solve. A couple of puzzles towards the end felt a bit obtuse and stumped me for a while, but I eventually found the solution after taking a break. Overall a very fun and rewarding puzzle-solving experience.
This is an awesome game. I strongly recommend it for fans of the puzzle genre.
It was one of the most interesting and enjoyable puzzle games I've played. It takes about 2 hours to complete.
Really fun and cool puzzle game. Encourages lots of out of the box thinking and gives interesting life lessons about problem solving.
4/5
thanks for this game, I had a great time!
and big thumb up for the sound design and music.
Love the puzzles, the atmosphere, the design, everything really. Must play.
A very cool puzzle game based around learning more about the rules of the world than collecting new items or whatever.
This is among the best surreal puzzle games I've played. The graphics are simple, effective, and occasionally hypnotically gorgeous. The puzzles are challenging. I managed to get through the game with no outside help which is rare for me, but it was not easy, and I spent several minutes at a time just staring at my screen trying to figure out a solution to whatever was in front of me. You would like this game if you've enjoyed games like Chroma Zero or Myst.
Good game, interesting mechanics
.
Mechanics:
Sometimes you should go back to see new location
Different door to one place
You can go through something if you do not look at it.
Walk around the object to change the space.
Failing to succeed does not mean failing to progress - Go to apposite direction.
Venturing into the unknown can lead to great rewards - Finish game in the first five minutes. Life isn't about getting to the end.
Look from little window change location.
Set cube in different location to go forward.
A path may not be right or wrong - It may just be different.
Do not look down, if player look he will get sanction.
When you have hit rock bottom, the only way is up.
One of the best puzzle games I've played. makes you think in, out and all around the box. People compare this to portal, but game mechanics and gameplay is very different.
Totally recommend.
Weird-ass, non-euclidian puzzle game to vibe out to and get existential with. Very highly recommended.
One of my favourite puzzle games! Waited a few years and then replayed it. If you like non-euclidean space and figuring things out as you go with minimal instruction, this one's for you. Forever a game I will recommend.
