Great games for non-linear thinking and play styles. Things de-spawning when not looked at, twists and turns that cause you to thing you were going in circles only to be in a new place....
This a great game and the mechanics are very interesting and fun! :D
An unique experience. Possibly the best puzzle game I've played. Highly recommend.
The game is not linear. The map is kinda like a maze. You will often reach dead ends and will have to come back once you have new tools, or more knowledge. It's kinda like a metroidvania in this regard.
Also similar to The Witness in a way as you will periodically uncover new mechanics on your own and get a better understanding of the world.
Fantastic game. Rivals both the portal games imo when it comes to its unique mechanics and the way it goes about making you think outside the box. Overall atmosphere of the game is very good as well. Feels very relaxing and spiritual which does help slightly when you're getting stuck/frustrated on a puzzle. On issue with the game is that it can be extremely unclear as to where to go at times, however the game does always subtly point you in the correct direction with the colours as well as transporting you to the nessasary rooms once you've unlocked the correct tools to progress. Over all a must have for people who enjoyed portal 1/2 as well as those who enjoy abstract and artsy games
This is an excellent puzzle game. Frustrating at times, which can be part of its charm. None of the puzzles stuck out as "unsolvable" or poorly designed. It is littered with easter eggs, which can sometimes be parts of the most challenging puzzles. Solving them is rewarding but realizing it doesn't progress you can be a let down.
The game is fairly short, but if you put it down for an extended period of time, be prepared to start it over for your own benefit.
Great stuff. Definitely a recommendation if you like FPS puzzlers.
Very cool puzzle game. Magical, although pretty confusing experience.
A phenomenal puzzle game that I've enjoyed so much that I have replayed it multiple times. The impossible spaces the game takes place in are extremely captivating and fun to explore, with the puzzles serving as a great method to hook you in to that exploration. I highly recommend this to anyone with an interest in puzzle games.
This game is quite special to me, I like to replay it once a couple of years or so. Perhaps it's thanks to simplistic graphics or "deep meaning" quotes, or perhaps non-euclidean space level design, it just feels so great.
All-time classic puzzle game, responsible for changing my entire brain chemistry. Had a blast replaying it on steam deck with gyro controls.
Probably my favourite puzzle game of all time. Antichamber’s puzzles are well designed, with subtle hints being dropped via the philosophical quotes scattered throughout the game. Being semi open-world, if a puzzle is too difficult or requires information and/or tools you don’t have yet, you can always move to a separate area and try to solve from there. There are a few puzzles many of the puzzles require a unique way of thinking about them, and while this is often a good thing there are puzzles which have solutions such as doing the same thing repeatedly, yet except for those puzzles the rest of the puzzles are very fun to solve, and figuring out the map is a puzzle in itself.
Wow. No need for fancy realistic graphics or story to make an amazing game. I love games that give you multiple paths to take with little secrets to find. Puzzles are simple but require some outside the box thinking. Can't believe this game is more than 10 years old and I have just played it for the first time. Really wish there was more like this. 10/10 must play.
Amazing game. Super interesting with the weird physics, and the deeper philosophical 'story' is super nice. 10/10 recommended, its an experience like no other. Just take some time, a cup of tea or a beer, and throw yourself into this adventure.
The game won't start anymore (at 2025-01-01) on my windows 11 PC. I just freshly installed the game, and the game simply won't start up. I have tried every single fix I could found on the internet, including the game's subreddit's big collection of fixes, and nothing helped.
I don't know what causes this, maybe it's windows 11 as it still works on my friend's windows 10 machine.
Back when I bought this game it used to work and I would have recommended it, but today I cannot recommend it simply because it is literally unplayable (for me for sure, but probably for others too, there must be a reason a dedicated "Startup Crash Fixes/Solutions" page on the game's subreddit exists).
(Since this means I can't play this game anymore on my modern setup, my money is lost on this game. I have tried to request a refund from steam but they refused as I have played more than 2 hours with the game already (although not much more than 2 hours). Sad.)
Not many games stand out for their uniqueness, but this one definitely does. It shows just how much you can do with 3d videogames if you really use your imagination and have an understanding of the technology and the engine itself. Bravo to the developer.
amazing puzzle game without heavy lore, but it feels way harder early than in the late game
Antichamber is one of those games that everyone must experience in their lifetime. The tricks that it pulls on you, the clever puzzles that it has you solving, the game just doesn't let up throughout its (admittedly short) runtime. New mechanics are constantly introduced to spice up the gameplay or make certain puzzles easier/possible to solve, which works nicely for its sense of progression.
Sound design is especially commendable. This game was an aesthetic treat both in audio and in visuals.
Definitely a fun trip. It took years of playing again here-and-there to finally find all the hidden nooks and achieve 100% completion. Very satisfying.
super interesting, but also super difficult, greast game if your up for a challenge!
Goodness gracious this game was a treat.
Apart from the outstanding visuals and paradoxical sense that follows you around everywhere, this game takes "abstract" story telling in a direction that I had never seen before. I won't say much because of spoilers, but let's just say this game takes you on one heck of a "Journey." None of the puzzles are rage and throw your desktop against a wall hard, but they were not too easy either. Enough that you have to come back for multiple play sessions to beat the game. The puzzles are all intuitive and don't repeat themselves (unless the game is trying to make a point to you) so everything is always seeming fresh. This has been honest to god the best puzzle game I have played since Portal, and I might even rank it above that. Please buy this game if it is on sale. You will not regret it.
What a trip. Proud to say I was able to beat it without looking anything up in just under 7 hours.
Antichamber is a puzzle game. You play in a 3D environment where you progress through connected rooms until you reach the end. Almost nothing is ever explicitly explained, so you just need to figure all of the mechanics of the game out by playing and experimenting. If you're into that sort of thing, definitely go for this one.
Amazing puzzle game! Got me hooked in 1 sitting from beginning to end
This game honestly broke my brain, had to play it in 4-5 sessions because I was getting headaches from trying to think.
10/10, please give me new brain
Antichamber is an extremely unique puzzle game that does not conform to the laws of our reality, and it does so masterfully. Every puzzle is fair, albeit sometimes tedious and/or frustrating, and you have a map with many warp points to help you keep your bearings. Many of the puzzles require thinking outside of the box, sometimes quite literally.
I only ever had 2 gripes with the game (semi-spoiler warning on the first one). There are very specific puzzle pieces that sadly never have a use, and once you've played the game enough, you'll know what I'm referring to. My other gripe is that the game can be a bit tough of the eyes with the extremely saturated colors, specifically the red, blue, and/or green colors when next to each other.
Years later and the only puzzle game I've played that even comes close to it in quality is Manifold Garden, a game which I honestly consider to be the spiritual successor to Antichamber.
This game burned holes in the already existing holes in my brain 10/10
I was expecting a puzzle game but not also it teaching me life. The game giving me a wisdom every time I completed a puzzle is a nice feeling.
Overall great game, it's fun working through the puzzles and progressing through as you unlock more and can do more.
Very fun puzzle game.
Played it countless hours in the pirated version. One of the best games of all time. I think everyone should experience Antichamber at least once.
Probably my favorite game ever. You've never played anything like it. Spectacular game!
Honestly, Antichamber is indescribable, but I played it in 2013 and loved it. Then I forgot the name of it, but it left a mark on my soul.
Eventually I had one of those random thoughts while doing dishes like "No way, Antichamber was the name of that game" and then I bought it again to experience the wonder.
10/10
The creativity in this game is unparalleled. Best non euclidean puzzle game you will ever face.
Finishable in one evening, played it few times over years, still amazing each time. One of the best puzzle games out there, one really has to think not only outside of the box, but outside of common logic and even laws of universe. the ambience really gives a nice touch to wandering throughout the endless corridors. And the quotes push you on through the game, for some, it can even push them through life. 10/10
Just a fantastic experience.
Very neat and amusing game. Not sure why it costs 20 whole dollars tho

got this game a few days ago when i remembered playing it as a kid, unironically helped shape my world view and was always part of my memory
very fun and unique, good experience
Antichamber is amazing. I started playing this game after Alexander Bruce's GDC talk. Really great talk, really great game. But frustrating too. Don't be hard on yourself, look up a wiki if you have to. Some of the puzzle solutions are really ad hoc.
There were also what seemed like bugs to me. I'm playing this game in 2024 on a setup that has far exceeded what DX9 has ever expected. As an example, there's this one puzzle called lighting the fuse, and while I knew the solution for my life I could not get it to work at all.
Still, you should play antichamber. Bruce mentioned in his talk that his entire 7 year (!) development process for this game was to do something as distinct as possible, and you can tell because Antichamber was really one of the first games of its genre.
It's crazy that Antichamber is Bruce's only published game. The development of the game drove him nuts, and he hasn't returned to the industry since (though I hope he comes back!)
Highly recommended, especially with that GDC talk too.
Amazing puzzle game, probably one of the best puzzle games available on Steam!
A totally unique, awesome, maddening journey. Highly recommend.
Trippy. Cool. Best puzzle game I've ever played.
An ingenious and genuiely mind-bending puzzle game, Antichamber seems to always know exactly what's going on in the player's head. Many of the solutions to puzzles are so clever it'll feel like you're breaking the game, but you're almost certainly not. The game knows.
Trippy and challenging. Very interesting and could be very fun to speedrun
We love the music and sound effects, bueatiful boxes with inspiring thought provocing quotes of inspiration. Puzzle the distraction it will and can provide, if you don't give up when you become feeling lost. Happy smilez :)
This game is amazing and a ton of fun. My only issue with it was that I reached basically the end without the final gun upgrade and didnt really know what to do from there. But the game was very well done and deserves the positive reviews 100%
Vsync is forced on by default which causes nauseating stutters on a VRR display.
Hacking an INI file to turn Vsync off and unlock the framerate breaks the game’s physics.
Perplexingly limited in-game selection of display resolutions (hacking an INI file is not an acceptable solution).
No in-game method for changing refresh rate, Vsync or FOV (hacking an INI file is not an acceptable solution).
No borderless fullscreen support.
No anti-aliasing support.
No support for multiple save files.
Barebones use of Steam features (no Steam Cloud save games, no achievements, missing store graphical assets, etc.).
No controller support (hacking an INI file is not an acceptable solution).
No remapping keyboard and mouse functions (hacking an INI file is not an acceptable solution).
No in-game volume controls.
Steam Deck trackpads vibrate incessantly with any character or camera movement.
This goes beyond poor or outdated design choices. This game is profoundly technically deficient and should not be for sale in this state.
I have no clue if there was a story or not but the ending looked kinda cool- not as good as Manifold Garden tho. Liked the puzzles in this one, only had to search up one of them. worth on sale
The greatest puzzle game ever made. Beaten several times, just not on Steam. It's $20, you ain't risking a lot.
A nice, medium-short abstract puzzle game (with fun colors!)
You'll be having intrusive thoughts about this game long after you've finished it. Though the playtime is around 4 hours, it somehow felt like I was trapped in its mind-bending world for days.
absolute mind fuck- ABSOLUTELY FUN. will make you angry.
videos game.
