Classic game. 10/10.

Classic
Different gameplay, instead of fireguns you use melee weapons, join your team and fight the enemies.
Lots of good memories from this game. Once you get used to the mechanics it becomes very rewarding such as killing multiple opponents at the same time and surviving. You can be pretty much invincible if your skill level is high enough.
The servers are pretty empty now, except on weekends and at night time. I guess I will move on to Chivalry 2 and Mordhau since those have a greater player base.
When I'm in a being unplayable competition and my opponent is Unreal Engine 3
ok game
very good killing
another childhood classic of mine, it's basically call of duty if it took place in the medieval era. it looks and feels amazing, the character classes are fun to play, and the game modes are fun to play. ps i love how you can sever limbs such as the head, legs and arms from the torso, this is one of the best video games i have ever played
Used to play the demo all the time on the xbox 360
fun
great fun
It doesn't hold up at this point. Game is mostly abandoned, and the combat isn't quite physically realistic enough to be that interesting, compared to later projects that captured realistic melee better.
bad
It was an amazing game.
Fun for a few hours
good game
Great game when it came out. Sometime around 2020, straight up n4zis became commonplace on the servers. So sad.
Please add sex with Big Tiddy Goth Chicks
Broken combat (backhit), empty servers
Only nerds with 0 fun left
2/10
just play it its awesome
Game Review: Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
Score: 3/10 - A Misguided Adventure into Medieval Chaos
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare may present itself as a thrilling medieval battle simulator, but beneath its shiny exterior lies a troubling undercurrent of liberal ideology and a blatant disregard for traditional family values. What could have been a fun romp through the world of knights and castles instead becomes a chaotic mess that pushes a narrative reflective of American imperialism and modern liberal values.
A Disguise for Ideological Warfare
At first glance, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare seems like a straightforward action game, offering players the chance to engage in brutal battles and epic sieges. However, the game subtly indoctrinates players into a worldview that glorifies conflict, competitive individualism, and chaos, all while masking it under the guise of “strategy” and “teamwork.” The constant need to engage in combat and dominate opponents feeds into a broader narrative of aggression and conflict, reminiscent of the worst aspects of modern American foreign policy.
The endless cycles of violence and the glorification of warfare in Chivalry serve as an unsettling metaphor for the imperialistic tendencies seen in today’s society. Instead of fostering a sense of honor or chivalry, the game promotes a mindset that champions aggression and domination. Players are encouraged to view their opponents not as rivals but as obstacles to be eliminated, reflecting a dangerously liberal approach that dismisses the value of diplomacy and understanding.
An Assault on Traditional Values
The chaotic nature of the game further undermines traditional family values. Where one might expect camaraderie and teamwork, players instead encounter a relentless focus on individual success and self-promotion. The fast-paced, brutal gameplay discourages the kind of cooperative spirit that is foundational to healthy family dynamics. Instead of building relationships through teamwork, players are often pitted against one another, leading to a breakdown of trust and respect—two pillars of strong familial bonds.
Moreover, the game’s lack of meaningful context or narrative depth means that any semblance of morality is lost amidst the frenzy of battle. There are no lessons to be learned about honor or integrity; instead, players are rewarded for mindless violence. This trivialization of conflict reflects a broader cultural shift away from values that prioritize community and family, pushing players toward a more nihilistic view of engagement and conflict.
Conclusion: A Missed Opportunity
While Chivalry: Medieval Warfare may appeal to fans of combat and strategy, it ultimately fails to deliver a meaningful experience. Instead of celebrating the rich tapestry of medieval life and the values associated with it, the game opts for a shallow, violent approach that promotes liberal ideologies and undermines traditional family values.
In a landscape where games can be both entertaining and thought-provoking, Chivalry stands as a misstep—an exercise in chaos that fails to engage with the deeper implications of its themes. If you’re seeking a game that embodies respect, teamwork, and traditional values, you might want to look elsewhere, as Chivalry: Medieval Warfare offers little more than a cacophony of swords and shouting, with an undercurrent of troubling ideology that lingers long after the last battle has ended.
keeps having bugs
As I wander the lifeless maps, I recall epic battles that used to take place, now just empty halls echoing the glory of what was. Grounds that used to be defended adamantly are now easily toured at leisure. How did we come to this? At what point did we let go of greatness in favor of mediocrity? The sad truth is not many of those who've succumbed to the decline will ever even realize what they've lost. Lament for the loss of what was, and dread what is to come.
they made this fuckin game cost money? after 12 years??????? wHat?
Y
Was fun. But today you really shouldn't buy it. There are newer and better games of this genre out there.
Cant say i recommend you buy cause the servers are empty , but man this game was good.
Swosh
I played this game way back in 2014. I witnessed the 'peak' and can confirm that as an online multiplayer game, it’s in a bad state player-wise. Servers are empty in the morning and late at night (EU), but there are dedicated players who still play every day and are willing to help you learn the game and farm achievements. Besides the low player count and empty servers, I also disliked the combat. It always felt slow, and every single swing felt delayed. The shortbow shooting animation sometimes cancels even though you clicked with the mouse (this can be fixed by double-clicking, but it still sucks). I believe some of you will enjoy this game, and I won't discourage you from buying it, but PLEASE wait for a Steam sale, as the game is way too expensive
Still runs, but no one plays anymore.
Great game for it's time, a lot of fun would recommend 100%

this is literally what happened
There is currently one server as I write this review. It has 18 people in it aside from me. I don't have as many hours as most but I remember when there when this game was alive and well. If you're reading this in consideration of buying this game, you already miss out.
However, I still recommend it buying it and joining to engage with a very unique combat system. We're trying to get the server to 30.
Stop killing video games !!!
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare – A Knight's Dream Come True
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to swing a sword, fire a crossbow, or charge into battle as a medieval knight, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is the game that brings that fantasy to life. This brutal, first-person melee combat game immerses you in epic, bloody medieval battles where skill, timing, and a bit of luck are key to survival.
Brutal and Satisfying Combat
The heart of Chivalry is its combat system, and it’s one of the most satisfying melee experiences out there. You’ll engage in intense one-on-one duels or massive 32-player battles, swinging swords, axes, maces, and more. Timing your attacks, blocking, and dodging at the right moment feels incredibly rewarding, especially when you land a crushing blow to your opponent.
Epic Medieval Battles
Whether storming a castle, defending a village, or engaging in open-field combat, each map feels like a scene straight out of medieval history. With multiple game modes like team deathmatch, free-for-all, and objective-based sieges, there’s always a new way to experience the chaos of battle.
Gritty and Realistic Atmosphere
From the sound of clashing steel to the sight of arrows raining down on the battlefield, the game immerses you in the gritty, bloody reality of medieval warfare. The screams of your enemies (and sometimes your own) add to the atmosphere, making it feel like you’re truly in the thick of the action.
Conclusion: A Must-Play for Medieval Combat Fans
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a thrilling experience for anyone who loves the idea of stepping into the boots of a medieval warrior. With its brutal combat, epic battles, and immersive atmosphere, it’s a game that delivers the chaotic, bloody fun you’re looking for. Whether you're a lone knight or part of a team, every fight feels like a glorious battle for honor.
Accidentally the best game ever made.
A Knight’s Dream Come True – with a Side of Chaos
If you've ever wanted to charge into battle, sword raised high, while yelling something noble (or hilariously unintelligible), then Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is the game for you! Imagine the chaos of medieval warfare – castles to besiege, villages to raid, and knights to... accidentally decapitate your teammates with a poorly aimed swing? Oops.
From the first moment you step onto the battlefield, you'll feel like you’ve been transported back to the Middle Ages, except now, you’re in control of the mayhem. The combat is fast, brutal, and deeply satisfying, whether you’re using a sword, axe, or just a frying pan (yes, it can happen). The multiplayer is where the game truly shines – nothing bonds you more with friends (or enemies) than storming a castle, getting hit by a stray catapult, and laughing about it as you respawn for round two.
The learning curve? Think of it as a knightly quest – you might lose a few heads at first (literally), but once you master the timing, you'll be slashing your way to glory in no time. And trust me, there’s no greater joy than taking down an opponent with a perfectly timed swing... or realizing too late that your opponent is a lot better than you.
So grab your helmet, sharpen your sword, and prepare for battle! Whether you’re an honorable knight or just in it for the memes, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a medieval romp that delivers action, chaos, and plenty of laughs along the way. Long live the (slightly disoriented) king!

Great Game
An amazing piece of art from the golden age of gaming
I'd just say go pick up the sequel at this point. But this was a game I had a lot of fun with. There's not a ton of melee focused medieval games out there, and despite getting absolutely destroyed by other players often... I had so much fun.
Best OG Game hacker slasher bar none
