Inspired by a famous tabletop game from Games Workshop, Dungeonbowl offers you a dangerous and crazy sport opposing two football teams, but also a deep tactical turn based game driven by dice. The key difference between Dungeonbowl and Blood Bowl as is rather obvious from the name, is that Dungeonbowl is played in a dungeon!
The game also introduces some subtle modifications to the standard Blood Bowl rules.
A match is still played between two teams, but each side is composed of three races. For example, the roster of a Rainbow Wizards team contains Wood Elves, Halflings and Humans. Dungeonbowl Knockout Edition features a total of 10 colleges of magic, which allows you to choose between a lot of different compositions!
The second difference is that the first team to score a touchdown wins the match. This task is made significantly more difficult by the fact that the ball is hidden in one of six treasure chests, five of which are booby-trapped with an explosive spell.
Last, but by no means least, movement within the dungeon is both facilitated and complicated by teleporter pads. These allow players to magically zap from one position to another; a mishap, however, can lead to a player being zapped out of the match.
Dungeonbowl Knockout Edition allows you to challenge other players online but also to play single player against each college of Magic managed by the computer AI, with different levels of difficulty!
Thanks to the in-game dungeon editor, you can build your own environment to play in. With Dungeonbowl Knockout Edition, you’ll be able to use a large variety of components including all the previous DLCs. Enjoy a myriad of maps and share your own dungeons with the whole community!
Prepare some epic games with the new Dungeonbowl Knockout Edition! If you enjoy tactical games, sport and heroic fantasy, try Dungeonbowl now!

Back in the days when it first arrived this was among the worst interpretation and the foremost offender when it came to sullying the Blood Bowl franchise with horrible gameplay, only online mode and worst of all, greedy microtransactions and teams locked behind paywalls. Nowadays it is just another abandoned game you can pick up and play vs lousy bots to your heart's content.. The sad thing is, this could have been better should it have arrived at a different era in history, now it is just another dead game on steam.
Simply put, don't bother.. Just remove this piece of garbage shovelware from your library and make your collection less cluttered..
No single player campaign and no friends do not equate to a good time.
This game exemplifies the problem with Cyanide Studios' development in taking a promising concept and flushing it down into Sewer Levels of design incompetence. Given that by the time they're done DLCing the poor title to death there's barely a community for it left, so it is a wonder how there is a community at all for any of their games because they've already taught their customers to be wary of the next one. By the time the title shapes up into a proper game - too late!
This game is horrible and clunky and feels like it was designed in the 1980s by people on drugs.
It is not like the tabletop version at all. It is slow and unwieldy.
Got this on sale so I figured it would at least be worth the sale price but I was wrong. It takes about 10 minutes to load even the smallest match and then the AI just stopped working halfway through the match. Had to just sit and wait for it to run out of time each turn... so broken.
So sad this has so much potential to be a faster paced take on BB.
I like Blood Bowl so I also got Dungeonbowl. It has two features I really like. ONE: You can play mixed race teams base on which college you choose. TWO: I also like the level editor to make custom playing fields. Unfortunately no one to play against except the CPU.
I like the idea of dungeon bowl more than the execution. This should be an add on for the general game and not a solo release. Undecided if I actually like it at all now.
Don't even try it. As a fan of the Bloodbowl Game, I thought this couldn't be too bad despite the the negative reviews, right? I won't regurgitate the comments already posted in the negative reviews, but I will add that once installed, it will not uninstall correctly, just launches the game every time you try to delete local content.
Kinda disgusted at this crappy attempt to make a few more bucks with little effort done to do it properly.
The lack of a tutorial mode or even a manual meant I spent ages working out how to teleport more players into a game and eventually I found out how through an online forum.
In saying that, you can get past that part eventually by just learning on your own. What really grated me was the misleading comment about playing against the computer ai. That is total bulls**t. The only option to playing against the ai is a lame exhibition mode, unlike the bloodbowl series where you have proper single player campaigns.
Don't waste your money on this one.
Altho I really like Bloodbowl (Have only been playing it for about 15 years) and I adore Dungeonbowl, this iteration of the game I can not endorse. It lacks polish. It lacks flair. It lacks a decent AI, UI and single player campaign. Seeing how the campaign works in regular BB, I don't see why Cyanide couldn't let the player make a single player team. Instead you can only play offline with premade teams. Kinda missed the mark, by a mile or two...
Lacking a single-player, customization of the game-length and options to continue, this shouldn't be held in any regard to any incarnation of Blood Bowl.
Save your money, get Blood Bowl and enjoy a completed game.
I am of the rare breed that prefers Dungeonbowl to Blood Bowl; after extensively playing and enjoying the tabletop game, I waited for this game to be on sale. Purchasing it I was initially impressed with the game play but frustrated with the difficulties in finding an opponent. I made teams to match my tabletop ones which won consistently but here this was not the case. I pressed on assuming that I did not have the skill and it took me time to get used to the interface. I eventually realized that my gameplay had little to do with it: the rules were subtlety different and at times broken, such as game duration limit and no blitzing off a teleport. The final blow for me was the Dwarven Deathroller which in my opinion is so broken that I have caught myself swearing at my monitor at least forty times. All other "big guys" have a detriment skill like take root, really dumb, etc. but not this beast. I calculated that teams I played against that did not have a Deathroller, I won >65% of games while if they did have one, I would win less than 20% of the time.
Why not make a team with a Deathroller, Trou? My answer: why not make a game that is at least reasonably balanced?
I am able to look passed a lot of this game's flaws that are stated here in these accurate reviews but combined together with this diarrhea on top, I would not recommend this game even if you love the table top version like I do.
Jepumk said it best: it is a poorly realized version of the table top game.
This game is a cheap money grab with no effort put into it.
Atrociouse. Deplorable. Cyanide should commit sepuku for this game.
Awful. You can only play online. Team creation process is painful. The interface is bad. Blood bowl is awesome. Dungeonbowl sucks.
Since the update there have been some changes, but my opinion on whether it is worth it or not is still the same. I will admit I am glad they got rid of the outrageous dlc and added some ai, but the has changed very little. The single player is shallow with only allowing the player to choose pre-selected teams with no team custimization of any kind. The multiplayer online for all intensive purposes is still dead, and the online ai teams kinda break the whole purpose of online multiplayer. Glad it changed but still not worth it.
0/10
DO NOT BUY! IF SOMEBODY GIVES YOU A COPY, IT STILL ISN'T WORTH IT!
The main problem with this game is that it is a multi-player only game with dead servers. Which means that people paid money to sit in a lobby waiting for somebody to show up. They never do. Save your money and buy Blood Bowl instead, a game with a solid single-player mode AND a healthy multiplayer community.
Add into the mix how many teams have been cut out just so they can be sold back to you at a stupid rate, and you have the worst purchase ever on Steam
EDIT: This review was written before the "Knockout" edition came out "too little, too late"
I haven't seen the new version because the DRM only allows limited downloads, and since I replaced my PC I've not been able to activate it. Take from that what you will.
Dungeonbowl is not quite unplayable, but I regret spending money on it. Singleplayer is nonexistent, but Multiplayer sucks. Get Blood Bowl instead.
This game has no AI, and no single-player gameplay. I do *NOT* recommend this game! DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!
This game is terrible I got it thi nking some link to bloodbowl.. it really isnt almost no one in the community i have found., If I could get my cash back or just get chaos edition ogfBB I would.!
This is a paired down version of BloodBowl with fewer options, no campaigns and statically generated teams aimed at online MP rather than team management. If you want more MP than Blood Bowl then this is your game, if you want to relax punching Elves in the face then get Blood Bowl.
its fun get it.......if its really cheap or free. Lots of Fun when you can find a match wich is almost never.
realisticaly dungeonbowl should be a game option included in the more popular blood bowl games and not a stand alone game on its own. so unfortunately as much as i actualy like this game i cannot continue to recomend it.
