I love the game. In my opinion the Total War Saga(1,2 and 3) is the best Total war game. This in particular is the most simple of all them but is the first step to the great game that is Warhammer Total War complete.
Oldie but goodie, I haven't played Total War for many years and saw it on sale, so picked it up. Brings back a lot of good memories. Something about the strategy aspect just keeps me entertained. In anycase, highly recommend this game especially if you see it on sale. It's a turn based strategy game and basically the idea is to conquer the map by governing your encampments by building what's necessary for you to advance your chosen faction with the limited space within your settlement, so you must choose wisely. On top of that, you must build an army and balance the cost of the army with city building and war with other factions in order to conquer the map.

Juegazo. en su simplicidad con respecto a otros Total War es donde está su encanto. Que puedas jugar sin preocuparte tanto por algunos temas y la epicidad en sus batallas es lo que lo hace unico y diferente a cualquier otro Total War.
It's good if you like the Total War series but in a fantasy settings
If it's on sale for $6 I think it's worth it but I can't justify a positive recommendation at the full price of $60 since so much of the content is locked behind DLC
Glad I got this on sale. The negative reviews about the high learning curve are right on the money. Camera angles are clunky and restrictive. Not off to a good start.
Update: It's so much worse the longer I play. There's a lot going on with zero explanation on HOW to actually do anything. I've got better things to do with my time.
i highly suggest you watch reviews or gameplay footage BEFORE spending ANY money on TWWH!
this an incredibly frustrating game to play regardless of the experience you have from the Rome or Shogun games... the game is full of too many faction/racial gimmicks too many events too many bullshit... these will overwhelm new players. i swear the Ai actually cheats especially when it comes to the piss poor economy in this "strategy" game! legit one city enemy had 4 full stack armies...really? heres me with half the map barley running TWO!!!!!
whinging aside i HIGHLY suggest you purchase the game and its several DLCs on bargain sales.
I attacked the border princes because they did not give me money. Then I sacked their settlement and took their money. When I did, I left a giant pile of shit in the middle of their town square, and then demanded money from them in exchange for not killing them outright. Then, after some more turns after their province capitals had time to build up, I declared war and shit on them again, once again, because they did not give me money when I demanded it. It was so funny I hurt myself laughing. 10 would take a shit in their town again.
The game is so irritating even with the tutorial it's difficult to "win" a battle. However, it is so addicting! Trial and error after five hours and i'm absolutely loving it, I already restarted the campaigns multiple times because I made stupid choices. (Yes, I know there are guides in the community hub, but I like figuring it out for myself.)
Wow, this game is extremely frustrating. I tried it for the first time, and I have no idea why Steam thinks I played 450 hours of this garbage.
Control is not intuitive. And the game expects you to know what to do.
In multiplayer, the game keeps moving your camera and turns it even if you turn off the thing to see the AI move.
There is no apparent wait to return directly to your castle or hero. You need to scroll back every time.
The game tries to be medieval civilization but strips off all the fun parts of civilization.
Don't try the green skin; you can't start research until a bunch of turns, and at this point, it isn't too late to catch up with the AI on Easy.
In Easy difficulty, the AI will do everything to stop your progression but won't kill you.
If you try to watch a fight, it takes ages for the NPC to move. You can speed them up, but what is the point? The strategy doesn't seem to matter anyway. Everything is based on brute force.
The overall experience is highly frustrating.
love this gameplay, been playing nr II and III but always good to get back to the classic. Total war games are my favorite
A standard game, the core game-play is true, the strategy part not that best but serviceable game.
Nothing like getting wiped out every time on normal (custom battles). I've done 4 hours so far and can say that magic and special abilities, flying mounts and giant monsters/slaughterous black wagons etc I was not prepared for - with Total War Medieval II I could win 60-70% of the time (with a small but well practiced army) but this beats my ass everywhere!
It's pretty hard to get into but very fun right away even when I didn't get it

-Nothing is explained as far as combat goes.. Youre kindve just expected to know, and understand everything.. It attempts to give direction, but its akin to telling someone to paint the Rembrandt, without ever having picked up a brush
-Even attempting to learn on 'Easy', its incredibly difficult as a new player. Im not completely green to 4x titles, but Im str5uggling with this one.
-The unit collision is AWFUL! I cant tell whats going on, and it seems impossible to issue commands beyond which initial direction to take.. After theyre in melee range, youre just watching it happen, and most of them are standing there, doing nothing.
-Denuvo (I oppose games with Denuvo on principle.. But my curiosity got the better of me for $6)
-Another intrusive launcher, for no reason than to spy on you, and sell your data! This should be made illegal
-It keeps telling me to make my settlements happy, to stop potential uprising, BUT DOESNT TELL ME HOW TO DO THAT!!!
-WAY too many DLCs and its expensive, which is why it took me so long to finally try it out.. If you want to play a faction from TWWH1, while playing TWWH2 or TWWH3, you must buy the previous games, and the associated DLC, in order for it to function in the proceeding game(s).. These 3 games are tied together. It may have been nice if you bought it as it all released, but if youre late to the party, youre looking at $600 to get the games and dlcs... Thats insane! At nearly a decade old, this first game, and dlc is still $50, on 50% discount... This is why I normally avoid SEGA products
Honestly, the introduction missions do not tell you enough about how to play, what to do with your city view, how the non-hero agent types work or that you can embed them in your armies as decent single combatants..
but once you work it out you'll just never stop playing (unless you get number 2 and play that instead).

As of the current steam xmas sale, if you own Warhammer 3 -
- this is the most price per quality and quantity content ratio you will get probably ever. Highly reccomended.

A very good game and introduction to the Total war Warhammer series. though if you are reading this, I'd recommend getting the 3 or even the 2nd warhammer.
It is a good game. if you do get it I recommend getting the free content with it to make it a better experience. The second game is better, but the first game is also fine.
This game simply does not teach you how to play it.
If you're an absolute beginner, you've bought yourself a research project that is going to take several hours on Google/Youtube/Reddit before you can even approach playing this as anything more than a guessing game where you repeatedly send squads of Dwarves to their deaths.
Bretonnia is best trust me.

A remarkarble Total War experience, in Warhammer fantasy setting. Game features 9 diverse playable factions. Each faction has unique playstyle and unit roster. Compared to previous games in Total War franchise, campaign map is somewhat smaller and diplomacy mechanics feel less robust. AI behavior in both battles and the campaign can sometimes feel lackluster and predictable. Real-time battles are, without doubt, the best part of this game. Battles are dynamic, chaotic and exiciting. Battles feature flying units, artilery units, monstrous creatures, and devastating magic spells.
Crashes about once an hour on a 2019 Macbook Pro within specs.

The original is best do not buy the newer ones the DLC is only more expensive and on this game it's not and you get a better experience playing it anyways with friends or solo you'll not get bored
If not for all DLC that cost money this game would be one of best, but since there are many I can only say its good
