It's ok i guess.
make peace treaties and when they let down their guard attack them.. good game
Me play dwarf i shoot giant dinosaur i happy
Great Game
If ya like total war, it's total war.
If ya like warhammer, it's warhammer.
bro the introductions or tutorials whatever you wanna call em are horrible, tells you the bare minimum then leaves you to die and then keeps telling you your getting fucked in the ass, i spent an hour trying to assinate heroes harassing my city trying to figure out vampiric corruption and all i got was a old useless fool bitching at me to lay siege
Garbage monetisation practice
good
great
Absolute amazing.
it fun but the second game is better
long learning curve but worth it, and not nearly as complicated as it will seem at first. you'll feel kinda dumb for being so confused. even with total war warhammer 3 out, this still holds up and the DLC works with all of em.
it was great when it came out but TTW2 is better and this one is used as a DLC.
I wish there was a better voting system on steam than thumbs up and down cuz this one stays in the middle but we haven't.
it should NOT be full priced anymore and seen as a new game but an old one and properly priced for it's age.
Peak strategy gaming
good game
Enjoyable.
fun challenging replayable
Easy to pick-up with the Dwarf campaign, great variety of units with all DLCs included which for some will be the main issue.
Best first turn based strategy experience i believe i could've had.
Game was the centre of my childhood and ive loved it
this is one of the best games in have every played
I lost 2 of my cities and then I was gang raped by vampires and short men I hope the devs die of black lung
Years later and this still constantly crashes. It's fun when it works but most of the time it doesn't work.
Game doesn't run on steam deck. Steam won't refund. Save your money
It's a total war game, it's a fantasy adaptation, handles it well enough.
The AI is horrible and doesnt care if whatever it does makes any lick of sense. These games are not the best way to experience the Warhammer OW story.
I still have no idea what I'm doing, but every time I do something it's badass.
Great game, but shitty port to mac, sometimes u need spend up to 15-20 mins to launch the game couse it usually stuck on a loading screen
Bueno y da un inicio bastante amplio a la franquicia
Nice game
I recently started playing this game for the first time for real. I have enjoyed it a bunch. Looking forward to II and III perches now.
It's an ok filler game. It's really easy after playing all the other games. Not a whole lot to it really, basically just dominate the map which is the Eastern section to Warhammer II
Fun mix of Warhammer and the Total War series
MEN PLAY, MEN BECOMES SIGMA
In my opinion must have for both fans: Total War and Warhammer Fantasy
I bought this a long time ago when I still had faith in EA. I don't anymore. and this game was the begining of the scam.
Absolutely unplayable. Easiest Campaign Easiest Race Easy Game Setting and after you encounter the Greenskins you might as well just quit. Played for two days reloading and trying everything. Pointless.
Don't buy, you will get addicted
SO much fun! Hours of gameplay.
Good game, for how old it is. I think the respawn of enemy lords is a bit too fast. Chaos can over run you instantly and if you beat them back they reform their army in just a handful of turns. its a bit silly.
I love this game because it still holds up. Grabbed it on sale and thought it'd be very shallow but surprisingly extremely fun. Lot's of mechanics and worth the money (on sale). Would suggest orcs and raiding everyone if its your first time
Great game, good game play
i have not played it at all, but my dad loves it so much, bought him rise of ronin, still decided to play this. i guess its really good. 10/10 Dad loves it 👍
Total War: Warhammer is the perfect blend of the Total War and the Warhammer Franchise. After picking a faction and often also a legendary general within that fraction you are of to conquer the Old World… or fulfill whatever other mission you are given. The game is divided in two parts: Moves on a strategic world map, that shows you the whole world from a bird’s eyes perspective, allow you to recruited armies, develop your settlements and plan attacks as well as have diplomatic relationships with your neighbors, friends and foes. And then standing on the generals hill you have the possibility to command your armies on the fields of battle. This includes deciding questions like positioning, formation, maneuvers and order of attack. If you are not playing on the hardest mode possible called “Legendary”, the games give you good information about your troops as well as the enemies which is rather convenient if you want to try different factions. Also, you can slow it down or even pause the battle to plan your next move. The ability to zoom into the gory scenes and watch from the perceptive of your fighting men is more for the flair but offers some truly astonishing visuals.
As with all games TW: Warhammer is not flawless. Except maybe on legendary once you have established yourself as a mighty power and control larger territories you become rather unstable, and good fights are hard to find. However, until then it can be painstaking to get a foot hold. Also I found myself ignoring the e missions for the legendary heroes to receive special items after a while, since they are not narrated and offer some but not overwhelming benefits. Here a little bit more narration and motivation would be great. But this are minors points.
The game is also great fun to play with friends. Therefor it is highly recommended for those loving Warhammer Fantasy and/or Strategy games in general.
To arms!
Its old and has mechanics that are over developed while others are completely neglected. It was fun for 20 hours or so but I got bored.
This is the slop that Creative Assembly serves up these days. Easily gobbled up by the modern smooth brained consumer. The very essence of what made Total War games great is gone now, replaced with; flashy animations, DLC that itches that scratch of the modern ADHD riddled audience and gameplay that consists of going woah as you watch a mammoth fight a medieval knight.
The limitations of history are what made it great. Artistic freedom has its merits, but if you give a giraffe a short neck, well it's not longer a giraffe. The beauty was in the real history, someone's dreams will never be more glorious or interesting than that. The strategy game from the slight differences in the culture of the units and the play style of real historical units. Battles that consisted of hammer and anvil strikes, kiting, pincer movements and using routing to drive your enemy off the battle field. The games were difficult in their own way, organically, especially to the average player.
Now these fantasy games are just about consuming. Appeasing the modern audience member, someone that collects figurines and claps at the end of superhero movies. They are just flashy trash. Magic cool downs, single entity units, blobs of units, essentially no routing (apart from dumb faction specific mechanics), I could go on.
On top of all that, what substance does the game actually have? no naval battles, the sieges are awful and the battles last 5 minutes. The games have went backwards mechanically and became dumber. But, they are now making games for an audience that doesn't complain and has no taste, enjoy your slop!
It's a good game. especially it's the original one.
"You must be online to..." Yeah buddy, I have already played 400 hours of Warhammer 2. Then suddenly, you consider me "not online" and/or started requiring me to "be online". Towards what? What the hell is this scam. I own the fucking games (or licenses thereof) and I expect to be able to use my products.
Warhammer 1 & 2 suddenly stopped working for me. I was plyaing Warhammer 2 Mortal Empires, which requires Warhammer 1. This is the only reason I bought Warhammer 1. But with about 400 hours in Warhammer 2, suddenly I am unable to load existing Mortal Empires campaign. So I tried repairing Warhammer 2, then reinstalled Warhammer 1 to try and force it to recognize that I own Warhammer 1 as well.
There is absolutely no reason for such crap to take place. I have found other recent posts and reviews talking about the same issue. Do not under any circumstance buy this crap.
648 hours in and game completely craps. Refuses to launch, says I'm "offline" and don't own the DLC. Repairing files, clearing cache does nothing. No one knows anything, no updates from anywhere. Been almost 24 hours since it crashed. I had planned to work my way from I-III but now I can't even launch a game, all my saves are hosed. Not gonna wasted more valuable time trying to install II or III. This is piss poor and frustrating. Cannot recommend currently.
