Good game, however Sega doesn't know how game preservation works apparently.
Anyways, moral of the the story: go buy bomb rush cyperfunk if you want to support people who don't delist their games randomly.
Amazing Dope Game with its unique art style. Get this game before it gets delisted from steam and other platforms.
Dope game with funky beats. Played only for 30 mins, but can already feel the potential of the game. Grab it while you can, it'll be delisted from Steam soon.
This game is truly a masterpiece and with the little ways to get it its unfortunate that its being removed from Steam. Without a doubt this is a glorious game and i highly recommend it to anybody able to get it and i completely insist on buying it while you still can. It separates itself from other SEGA titles with its fantastic soundtrack, unique artstyle and fun gameplay. It is a timeless masterpiece and my personal favourite SEGA game.
The game got some good beats and good visuals for a Dreamcast game back in the day. The one thing that I have to point out is the controls and enemies, but the latter outweighs the former because they can hunt you down while you're busy with your graffiti. The controls are hard at first, but afters some hours into the game, you can be able to get the hang of it.
Though, the game will delist sooner or later, so get it now before it's too late!
Jet Set Radio is one of my Favorite video games ever. From the music to the art style to the Characters. While it was not perfect due to the wonky controls and camera ill just put aside for the fact it came out in 2000.
Buy this before it gets delisted!! Definitely worth the $8 for such a classic game. I don't have a good feeling about the new version SEGA is planning on releasing since they are delisting this one. Thats usually a bad sign kinda like what happened to the classic GTA games.
despite the jank i do think this game was ahead of it's time in many ways. i don't think sega can hold a candle to this with the reboot unless it's being made by people who understand why it's a classic, and it doesn't help that the original is being delisted.
The controls are kind of clunky at first, but after you get used to them the game is great.
This is so great! The controls are really hard, and the game is overall hard too, but it is really fun! BUT THE MUSIC THOUGH, IT IS TOO FIRE!!!
controls were ass, but the rest was pretty cool. sad to see this game got delisted
This game is REALLY fun, but it's absolutely jam-packed with anti-QOL features that make it nigh-unplayable. The game will frequently play a cutscene in the middle of tricky platforming sequences which breaks concentration, causing you to fall off. It has an S-Rank system but no reset button, so any slight error will result in 10 seconds of flipping through menus to try again. Also, the game will readjust your camera controls, so there are many jumps that are difficult only because you cant look where you want. The constant barrage of these little annoyances make me angry more than I'm having fun. This game does have fun game play, and Sega leakers have been saying it's getting a remake, so I'll probably try it again then if these issues are addressed.
controls did not age well, clunky and hard to play. wish i could play it, for nostalgias sake, as well as it being the inspo for bomb rush cyberfunk. if you could run and have the patience to learn the controls, i would reccomend playing it.
Buy this game while you still can until SEGA completely delists it from Steam. Why they pride themselves on being a "Community Driven" company and then destroy the games that made them in the first place is something I will never understand.
From only my couple hours of playing, it's been nothing but style all the way through. This game singlehandedly created the Shibuya Punk aesthetic, something that has inspired countless games after it. Its mechanics are a bit clunky, but for an experimental Playstation game it is very much still fun. Definitely a good time if you are a fan of arcade style skate games. Its soundtrack is bangers all the way, and Hideki Naganuma is one of the all-time greats in a style of Hip-hop/jazz/funk/dnb that he helped pioneer.
Players obviously love this game and everything it stands for- just look at Bomb Rush Cyberfunk for proof.
A shame, honestly. If we want to continue with game and media preservation, we will soon have no other choice than to sail the high seas.
One of my favorite games of all time. Truly a shame Sega is delisting the only legal way to play this title in modern day. I have high hopes for the remake, though it's still disappointing JSRF was never ported, and now JSR will soon no longer be available to purchase. If this game interests you at all, I highly, highly, recommend you check out Bombrush Cyberfunk by Team Reptile, they did a phenomenal job creating the (imo) best spiritual successor that fans of this game have been asking for years.
I've never played Jet Set Radio before, and I've been sitting on it for a while. Now that I've played it I wish I'd tried it sooner. There are a few rough edges, like the camera spazzing out in small spaces or the really repetitive noises the player characters make, but the mechanics are really fun and surprisingly tight. It took a while for me to get a hang of the movement, but once I did chaining together multiple wallruns and rail jumps was really satisfying. On top of that, the areas are varied and visually interesting, and the whole game has a really unique personality to it. I liked JSR enough that I'm currently replaying it to get the max rank on all stages, which isn't something I typically care about.
Note that JSR is being delisted December 6th, so if you have even a little interest in the game you might want to just grab it.
I like it I like it!
I don't like Sega delisting it though
It's a good game, it has a unique personality, good visuals, good soundtrack, interesting gameplay and ideas, I enjoyed it a lot on Dreamcast and it was one of my favorites. I recommend it.
Now I just got it on PC because I've read Sega is going to delist a lot of games. Why do comapnies do that?. It's a nightmare for preservation!!. Bullshit like that is why phisical media is better.
I guess it's up to us to keep backups and find other ways of preserving videogames because stupid companies don't care about their own history.
A great port of a classic game.
Buy it now before Sega delists it and forces you to buy the soulless remake for 10x the price.
very exciting, but with a bit of a steep learning curve
its fun i guess, the controls could use some updating
so why delist of these classics, Sega? do you just want money that badly or something?
Game is amazing, especially with the music. THE MUSIC IS FIREEEEE
"Hey we want Jet Set Radio Future on Steam and a new JSR game!"
Sega: Remakes JSR and delists the original because game companies really hate preserving games for whatever reason including sega unless it's the first sonic game.
anyway the game is cool and is fun, quick and has a fantastic and phenomenal soundtrack.
i'm hesitantly interested in the remake and wish future was on steam, but it's a shame sega makes some baffling business decisions.
JSR is such a great game, it has style, funk, hip music, and amazing unique game play
If someone was interested I would usually tell them to get it on steam, thats how I got it and became a fan
now thanks to Sega delisting all their games almost all their classic games on dec 6th not just jsr but many other classics will be forgotten and rot away on cartridges and disk for future generations unable to play them and understand the experience of these games that influence so many games of today
This just show if you want to play an old game emulate
Its not stealing if you dont own these dam games anyways
Genuinely one of the best games of all time
I have like 1000 hours on the PSVITA and seeing this on steamdeck broke my brain.
An all time classic and highly influential game getting relegated to the dustbin of history. Incredibly sad to see :(
This game got me through hard times when we were all cooped up in our homes during the pandemic. I wish for others to experience the same kind of joy I did years ago before SEGA delists these Dreamcast titles in a month from now.
SEGA please consider understanding the concept of love, or fuck off and enjoy getting comfortable with people sailing the seas to look for your treasure. You got no soul.
I know I don't have alot of hours on this game but I wanted to make this small review and warning that this game is getting delisted next month which is really sad as I think this legendary game needs to be played by more others around I really do love this game but the controls has not aged well and making it harder to play after putting 20 hours ish on Bomb Rush Cyberfunk but the game style and atmosphere is what makes me over come these issues and enjoy the game...please buy this game right now and enjoy this legendary game and hope the future games can carry the legacy...also rip any chances for JSRF to be on Steam
Great game also FUCK SEGA, HOW ABOUT THEY DELIST DEEZ NUTZ! RAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
We never got Jet Set Radio Future, and now they decided to delist this gem of a game and pretty much everything else from MegaDrive to Dreamcast. I recommend this game Absolutely on it's own, but I'm making this review negative because SEGA needs to do a Fucking Better job at preserving their Games. Because of DENUVO and Digital Laws, we CAN'T have nice things! Go FUCK yourself SEGA!
its fucking shti the controls suck ass i got filtered
fantastic arcade style title. Very retro gamer friendly for people who grew up with the original or newer gamer's looking for something different from the typical modern gaming experience.
The controls take some getting used to and honestly can be a little aggravating sometimes but that (as well as what steam charges) is a price I'm willing to pay for peak gaming
Can't find "LT" on my keyboard. Literally unplayable
insane that only 13% of players beat chapter 1. its like 4 levels brah
Fantastic game, horrible port, controls so ass it completely took me out of it
Great game that has aged relatively well. Soundtrack is an absolute banger, movement is tied to the camera which isn't fantastic, and very much a tell-tale sign that this game was made in a different time. That said, it still controls largely fine, and the sense of rhythm you get from the movement is still a great feeling even years later. Big criticism is that the options are terrible, you don't have access to level select post game completion. But the actual gameplay is solid outside of controls being tied to the camera. Definitely a classic and a definite recommend.
was probably one of the harder games to 100% but I'm still not bored of it.
it takes a little bit to get a hang of the controls but it's very rewarding when you get it.
this game fucking rocks
I'd love to recommend this game but I just can't.
It looks great, soundtrack is kickin', but it plays like trash. The physics don't work like they should, a-la any Tony Hawk's game, and I felt like I was arguing with the controls the entire time. Such a shame.
This game is a classic, the music and the environment is great. I always liked that the setting was in Japan. The controls are a bit dated. However, it is manageable. Can't wait for the remake (hopefully radio future will make a return eventually). Overall, just as good as I remembered.
While this game is still undoubtedly an artistic triumph, I unfortunately just don't think the gameplay/control scheme has aged as well as I'd like to admit. And I feel much less crazy saying that considering JSR Future aged like a FINE wine....please port it Sega....
This game is crazy good. Jet Set Radio understands the concept of love. Some of the greatest art direction and music in any game ever. Like seriously Hideki never misses with his funky fresh beats, he really has me humming the baseline everytime I play this game. I'm kinda surprised Jet Set Radio didn't shape da future, although we're seeing a resurgence with these type of games, so maybe it did after all. Really hoping Hideki comes back for the new Jet Set Radio game coming out because it really wouldn't be the same game without him, or his grace and glory. Alright, that's enough.
The biggest gripe a lot of people have with this game is that the controls suck. I kinda disagree, like they've aged kinda poorly, but the controls work well with how the levels are designed. But there were a few moments, like the races, where I felt they were too stiff.
Kind of insane how hard Jet Set Radio goes, great character designs, music, stages, style, art direction. there isn't much that hasn't already been said about this masterpiece.
I grinded hard he-man, but i could not grind them all!
i LOVE the music here and the style of animation!!!
slippery controls though, but i've gotten used to it
JET SET RADIO!!!!!!!!!!!
“Conflicted” is putting my thoughts mildly. The music is incredible, the artwork is timeless, & the level design is fun. But the entire experience felt like a big fight with the controls. It’s frustrating trying to get into a flow when it’s this janky
good craic

No jet set radio future ported to pc in 2024.
movement feels like ass, and theres some classic japanese pc port problems that make it a real pain to even play
