Empires features:

- Squad-Based Teamwork - Players can organize themselves into highly-effective squads, overwhelming their opponents with superior tactics. Squad leaders can not only direct their respective members, but also use special squad powers such as reviving dead squad members or calling down an artillery strike on the enemy.
- Vehicle Combat - Whether you're ferrying troops around the battlefield with the Armored Personnel Carrier or reigning fire upon your foes with the Artillery tank, Empires features a variety of vehicular combat. Choose from six different vehicle types, including three levels of tanks, and customize your weapons, armor, and engines.
- Real-Time Strategy Commander - For those more inclined to RTS gameplay, you can play as the commander. Place buildings, build defensive turrets, construct vehicles, and conduct research on your way to leading your team to victory.

A good mid-beta of a Savage/Nuclear Dawn style game. Has good potential if V can take it over and finish it, the way they did in CS for GoldSrc! Until then, I can't recommend.

FINALLY FOUND IT
for years i was trying to find this game
i was like confused about this game when i was like idk a lil boy?
and deleted it
but jeez i love this game :D
Sometimes (often) i suck but its still a lot of fun!
And since some new updates like new maps and stuff (if im not mistaken) it got real cool!
And finally im a lot better than the first time i played it and knew nothing about FPS.
Well i still suck at driving tanks but it gets better, just hope more players will join again but its still fun with just 8 people.
Halo Wars but there's also players on the ground fighting and shit
It's not just a game.. It's life.. A cult following.. you just CAN'T STOP PLAYING.
played this mod on and off for nearly a decade now. thousands of hours sunk into it. I wouldn't change it for anything.
If you like shooting games, get this, play the tutorial, join a server and go ham. Just.. Don't take the CV.
Edit: There are reviews saying the community is toxic, this WAS true, and still is for a few people. but over the past few months we have had some devoted individuals who have been hosting drafts every weekend, so if you feel like playing and meeting veterans who wont scream at you (some will but ignore them) come join us at the weekend on X's hardcore empires!

Best....game....ever!
where to start with empires... iv played it off/on since before it was "on"steam. the game on a good day is extremely enjoyable and while tense and stressful at times can be quite fun for a few hours. the major drawback to empires, apart from its age, is the lack of community. while it never had the vast base that something like cod has. its only suffered as the years passed. now there is really only the "nub" main server for playing. as most every other one is empty or bots. but thats not a reason to not try it, as when you can get a match going on empires its pretty fun. as long as you keep at it and dont let the drama or the odd team stack of vets vs nubs cloud your enjoyment.
the game it self does suffer from the old source problems and hasnt aged well BUT its still a decent fairly bug free game.

game is fun. you are noob and a lame virgin loser who will never get any if you dont atleast try it...as only men play empires.. little boys play the rest.
Emipires is a modification of Source that is widely multiplayer. This game is actually really fun but I do have some complaints when it comes to this game BUT don't worry I would still recomend this game.

-This game has a really unique idea when it comes down to gameplay
-Vehicles, Weapons and Classes control nicely when you get the hang of it
-There are plenty of maps to choose from
-Game has achievements
-Only around 3-4 GB
ＣＯＮＳ
-There are too many things to learn in this game and it may become overwhelming if you are a new player
-Only one server is usually played on but it has around 64 spaces on it (the game is dead besides that server)
-The achievements are damn near impossible to earn and they don't tell you how to get them since they are "secret"
