Escape Simulator is a first-person puzzler you can play solo or in an online co-op. Explore a growing set of highly interactive escape rooms. Move furniture, pick up and examine everything, smash pots and break locks! Supports community-made rooms through the level editor.
Interactive Puzzles: Rummage through 28 rooms filled with puzzles designed by real-life escape room operators. If something is not nailed to the wall, you can pick it up.
Online Co-Op: All the rooms are playable in an online co-op. We recommend to play built-in rooms with up to 3 players (but you're welcome to play with more). Community rooms have been tested with up to 10 people. Customize your character and join with friends to work-out puzzles together. More heads are better than one!
Examine Everything: Read through books, examine ancient artifacts and find clues to riddles. Need to cross-reference a clue? No, problem - just pin it to the screen.
Community-Made Rooms: The game includes a room editor with which you can design your own escape rooms and puzzles. Through workshop integration, you get to play awesome things the community has created.
The rooms are arranged into packs:
Labyrinth of Egypt
"You and your mentor discovered the ancient Labyrinth of Egypt. By accident, he activated a
trap, and you got separated, with no way out in sight."
Adrift in Space
"An explosion wakes you up. Your spaceship has been hit by debris, and you're heading straight into the sun."
Edgewood Mansion
"You were invited to attend a special dinner at Dr. Edgewood's mansion. Instead of eating food, you'll be solving a victorian mystery."
Omega Corporation
"Your friend disappeared while investigating the mysterious Omega Corporation. Follow their tracks and uncover the truth."
Extras
Escape Aperture Science Laboratories in a Portal themed room, escape the iconic Among Us spaceship, find a way out of Santa's Workshop, play with Cats in Time, visit a spooky Graveyard, a funky 70's Room, escape Leonardo da Vinci's workshop, find the pirate treasure on The Island, and in our latest room you can finally play Versus your friends!

My friend and I play this game and we love it so much. With it being a puzzle game it challenges our team work (which needs work :P) and our communication skills. There is so much FREE content that we can keep coming back to this game. It's also fun to play on your own but with a friend it's even more fun. High recommend!
Good in many ways but some of the puzzles are just plain silly. Really bad mouse-lag from almost all of the community made maps makes them unplayable.
Really should be a "maybe", in fact a star rating system wouldn't be bad for games like this. It is well presented and engaging at the beginning, but it really does become somewhat monotonous after awhile. Kind of like doing the Saturday crossword, it's there and it's something to do. Haven't tried theroom creation feature yet and am hoping it will offer some avenues for creating challenging puzzles - maybe an addendum in the future.
Escape Simulator is simply one of my favorite games. ♡
Personally, I like escape rooms, so this game is perfect for me.
The puzzles are fun and engaging, the community is nice, and trying to find all the tokens is a
little side quest on its own. Are you stuck? You can ask for hints or rely on the community to help out.
You can also make your own rooms, which is a fun challenge. ◝(ᵔᵕᵔ)◜
Lots of fans/community members already made rooms, and it's fun to see what they came up with.
I also appreciate that the game developers are paying attention to their community.
They make cool articles about some of the fan-made rooms and do interviews with some of the creators.
And also give the most popular rooms their own section in the game.
I am happy to see that they still develop the game and give us new rooms/DLC. ♡
This is one of the games that I can proudly say I am glad I bought and still can enjoy.
When I have time, I will definitely try and make a room! ✩.✩
Stunning Escape Room experience for you and your friends! With a huge amount of community rooms you can have a lot of funny evenings with your teammates even after finishing base levels from the game. Developers also released great DLCs that extended the puzzle locations and also added more interesting puzzle mechanics.
Escape Simulator is a solid game overall. The puzzles are pretty good, and the multiplayer works smoothly, making it a fun experience with friends. There are a few bugs with object physics here and there, but it doesn’t ruin the gameplay. Definitely worth checking out if you’re into escape rooms!
I love these kind of games and thought I was good at puzzles...apparently not, I haven't completed 1 in the time given. Still fun though I guess
Very creative puzzles, which is especially fun for co-op.
best co-op escape room game on the market. loads of high quality content and plenty of extras with community maps.
this game is well worth the price of one (1) dramamine per four (4) hours of play.
Bite sized pointnclick adventures, fun, wildly variable difficulty. The hint system is basically useless, keeps giving hints for puzzles already solved.
A delightful and well made puzzle game. The base game comes with a pretty decent collection of puzzle rooms that are possible to complete alone, but is definitely more fun if you have a friend that you can play with. Things tend to get a little too chaotic if you play with more than one person at a time though. The themes are fun, and the puzzles often challenging, but not overly hard. There's a good mixture of free & paid DLC that you can add later; some may not be happy about the paid DLC part, but they're always well thought out and worth the price if you like the theme.
Bolstered by this is all of the custom made rooms made by players found in the workshop. This can be hit or miss sometimes as I've definitely played more than one room that was either buggy, was too bothersome with the controls, the puzzles were too hard, or just poorly thought out, however, the amount of rooms that were either simple delights or very well crafted & well thought out puzzle rooms far outweigh the bad.
If you have a friend to play with, or just really enjoy puzzle games, this is a game well worth your time.
Incredibly fun and entertaining game! Played through all official rooms with a friend. 10/10 Would recommend!
Can't wait for the new Mayan DLC!
If you like escape rooms, then this should be right up your alley. Naturally the puzzles vary in difficulty, but I've only run into a couple that I never understood how I was supposed to figure it out (still managed to clear all the rooms eventually without looking up tutorials)
My boyfriend and I love playing Escape Simulator together! The puzzles are a challenge, but we're getting quicker and smarter with the designs and beating the clock more. The designer's games are a step above the player-created rooms, but we've had fun in some of those rooms as well. Be warned because they often bug. Overall, this game brings me great joy for my nerdy brain.
Lots of updates, and each puzzle has its own theme. Community is great!
Another alternative than paying for an actual escape room. Game is fun and engaging and has a lot of different rooms that the community makes.
I really enjoy playing this with my friends. I do think you should buy it when on sale as the main game only has a few maps. However the custom made maps are amazing and endless! Shout out to the capybara dance!
This is how you play:
1. Invite your friends
2. Start a room
3. Watch the room get wrecked
4. Spend 10 minutes cleaning up the mess
5. Discover the missing piece in your friend's inventory
6. Solve the room after the time is up
10/10 Would escape from my friends again
Excellent Value for your money. Continuously having new levels added from the community as well as free levels and small DLC from the developer.
Incredibly fun with 3 players. Puzzles are entertaining. More players probably make it worse.
Love playing this game so far!! However, I have run into a few glitches with the VR version which to be honest although annoying were really funny!
This game has so much more content than I had initially believed! The puzzles are very fun, and some can be pretty challenging!! There are room sets that come with multiple rooms to escape and that's not mentioning the DLCs and community page where there are so many more fun rooms to escape! On top of the puzzles and escaping, there are also cleverly hidden tokens that remind me of Submachine's secrets, they can be hard to find and are fun to look for!
Simply one of my favourite games.
The mechanics are great and imaginative. The themes of the levels are used in the mechanics and puzzles.
There is a great variety of content, and the devs keep bringing us more DLCs ! (*o*)
The gameplay really resembles what an IRL escape game feels like, with the bonus of mechanics that would not be physically possible for an IRL escape game (but I won't say more ;) ).
The difficulty is progressive, from the earlier levels to the last ones of a theme, and from the first themes to the last ones.
If you love escape games, you should definitely try this one !
It has a nice mix of challenging puzzles and some easy ones. This implementation of first-person view takes some getting used to. The cartoon-style art is not my favorite, but the gameplay makes putting up with it worthwhile.
Great game ! Love the dlcs that come with this game ! Perfect game to spend hours having just a blast !
After, like, 4 free DLC maps, I feel obliged to recommend this game.
Delightful puzzles, charming aesthetic, and solid gameplay.
Good stuff.
Amazing puzzle game! I've played it for almost 70 hours and have all the DLC. It's very fun and definitely one of my favorite games ever!!! All the puzzles are unique, fair, and fun to solve!
I had a very enjoyable time solving puzzles with my wife. Got exactly what we expected and very happy with the experience.
felt really smart and dumb at the same time playing this game, either you finish a level instantly or you struggle because the pot of plant was meant to be broken for you to find the key to unlock the door
Really fun game to play with friends or family IRL. I like the different scenarios and how interactive and complex you can make them as a video game. Not the mention the many many more community scenarios which are a great addition to the game.
Would definitely recommend this game !!!!
Amazing game. Wife and I just keep playing this. Every DLC, every update. Tons of fun.
A really fun puzzle game that I find best played with one other friend. While three people can be fine on some of the stages can work, most of them are a bit too crowded or not puzzle dense enough.
This is a really fun game. I like the puzzles because they are challenging but also easy to eventually figure out on your own. I like that the hints are kind of like little puzzles and sometimes the clues are vague enough I still feel accomplished on figuring out the puzzle, I just need that little push. I love the look of the game and all the detail and small easter eggs as well.
Bought this to play with my co-workers. This was such great fun and amazing team building game.
Played this game 2 player with my wife and really wanted to like it. The biggest downside is that the rooms are so small that it's hard to move around and see everything while playing multiplayer. The end result is a room that feels crowded, chaotic, and claustrophobic. The puzzles are great, it's just hard to navigate around the rooms to find all the clues when there's more than one person playing. I think we completed 3-4 rooms and then gave up on it.
Alright, Escape Simulator—it’s a fun game, no doubt about it. There’s something about being locked in a room with your friends, solving puzzles, and slowly losing your mind that’s just... therapeutic. Plus, after two hours in the same room, it’s a great way to tell your friends exactly what you think of them when that last puzzle just doesn’t click.
But here’s the kicker—why do we need to buy every new room after the base game? It’s starting to feel a bit like a cash grab. The game’s great, but the updates? They’re few and far between, and when they do drop, they’re more expensive than they should be. I’m all for supporting devs, but come on, throw us a bone once in a while.
Randy Rating: 3/5 — Fun game to make or break friendships, but the paid rooms? Not a fan of that business model.
This game, as you can see, has taken hundreds of hours of my time. It is me and my bestie's default game to play together bc we know we are going to have a good (rageful, confusing, scary, funny, annoying) time. The escape rooms the game comes with are great, but the real joy is in the rooms the community makes. Some are really good, and some are really bad, but they're all awesome in there own way.
Pure fun especially when played in co-op mode. Love it. Takes you back to the times when games were actually fun.
this game is pretty fun tho sometimes the puzzles from the developers can get a bit over the top but overall its well made. however my one complaint of the game is the fact that the community made rooms are not required to be completed to publish and results in some rooms being easily soft locked or straight up broken from the start and it ends up just wasting your time.
fun with friends. community maps are great.
Very fun game to play with a friend. I highly recommend the game along with the DLCs.
Honestly a lot more fun than I thought it would be, and an actual challenge!
Superb cooperative game, provided they listen to you. There are moments when you just feel so dumb.
I really enjoyed solving the various puzzles and finding my way out of different rooms. Each level offers unique challenges that keep things fresh and exciting, and the ability to return to the game and experience those moments again adds even more value. It's perfect for those who like the process of cracking puzzles without leaving the house.
My mind grew while playing this game. If Einstein played this we would have solved world hunger, found the cure to cancer, time travel, flying cars, and would have lived in space since 1950.
Great for escape room lovers who can't get their fix in real life escape rooms, even if you could i'd still recommend this! Especially for the player made content which keeps the game fun after you inevitably finish the official stuff (though there is plenty of that to go through).
Brilliant escape room game. Tons of fun in multiplayer. Several official rooms, with a lot of unofficial rooms to expand the experience. 10/10
Do you like escape rooms? Do you have friends who also like escape rooms but live far away from you? This is the game for you!
With multi-level and single level content, I continue to be impressed and always engaged playing escape simulator. Sometimes, escape rooms can be creepy; Escape Simulator keeps the game approachable and not-creepy, without being too cutesy. I am such a fan, and highly recommend this to all!
So much content for a relatively affordable game. New rooms often with a blooming community of great escape room makers to scratch that escape room itch, love the collabs, and Im happy that they decided to launch ESVR for free.
