Just one more cat...
Found this game by accident, but it surely has a soft spot in my heart now. This game is kinda relaxing, plus the music is not annoying (which I think is a real gem in such kind of games); it has some pleasant beat, but it doesn't stray your attention away from the game itself.
The style is very cute and the characters have very unique charm. They all are different people, you feel it, you understand it, but their stories intertwined so nicely. I especially liked all sorts of phrases that were used, ESPECIALLY, ESPECIALLY how Bonner speaks!
It is kind of sad that after about 10 hours of gameplay the main story ends, I wish it was longer, because I just don't want to part with characters and their little quirks.
The achievements badges/icons in Steam are also very cool, additional respect for the ones you get by adopting cats. I was honestly expecting just usual cats, but how I got surprised by seeing some interesting fellas!
There are also a big variety of decorations and all the possible styles, ahh, it's just heaven for imagination.
Overall, I think I didn't want to stop playing it once I started, so if you find yourself being obsessed with such kind of little "grind" games - you should definitely give it a try!
Very sweet, and I really liked the mechanic of different customers paying in different currencies- you really had to plan ahead and keep on top of different resources. Sure, it gets a touch repetitive after a while, but that's par for the course with this sort of game and helps to make it relaxing.
this is THE cozy comfort game!! lots of cute cats, the characters are fun and well written, decorating is enjoyable, and actually running the cafe is quite interesting; there's also a fair bit of story, which i would describe as entertaining and heartwarming. i absolutely recommend this game, although i think the price is a bit high, so get it on sale!! great game 10/10 :33
infinitely charming, delightful art and characters, good gameplay loop even if a bit monotonous at times (although im very very into that personally), overall a great experience!
I am writing "do not recommend" with the caveat that I think the game is worth it if you catch it on sale for $5 or less and you are CRAZY about this kind of simulator. There just isn't that much content in the game (I have 10 hours at the time of writing this and I am already past the main story).
("-" = Con, "~" = Neutral, "+" = Pro)
- The rate at which you get resources is way too slow in comparison to the rate at which you need to buy more things to progress. Making items in shops way less expensive would make this much more playable for long periods of time.
- It is problematic that neither I nor any workers nor cats can have their training points reset in case I accidentally put a point in the wrong place or I decide that it wasn't an optimal choice in the long run.
- There is almost zero character customization and no cat customization.
~ I've seen other people mention that you can't fire the people you hired, but I don't know why anyone would want to do that, as I don't believe the workers actually have a wage, you just hire them via a one-time fee.
~ I like the main story concept, but I feel like it was executed just "meh"; it also only took about 8-10 hours of real time.
+ The named NPCs are very cute, are decently fleshed out, and somewhat relatable.
+ At the end of the day, it still delivers some amount of dopamine; if you like task-oriented video games, you will certainly get that here.
its fun, keeping up with everyones needs but it came become a bit of a waiting game.
Relaxing and rewarding simulator. It's just so easy to jump in and out of the game as you have time. You have a good variety of options for designing your cafe - the cast of characters is fun - the cats are adorable and exciting to unlock! It's just an all-around good time!
I absolutely adore this game. There are so many types of cats to adopt, items and styles for your cafe, food, people, story lines, and ᓚᘏᗢ ... Did I say cats already?
I will say that sometimes its a little glitchy with giving cats for adoption and buying furniture/decoration. It also has some items that don't place straight and are at an angle which is a little weird, but it makes up for it with cute kitties!
It is so simple and so fun. 10/10 ₍^. .^₎⟆
Cute and relaxing. Does make it difficult to get certain rewards, and the shrine stopped working for me.
This game is so much fun! It's addicting. Wish there was more character customization options, but it's so much fun!
Addictive, great resource management without being difficult to figure out. Recurring characters had detailed story lines and humorous lines. Cute furniture to add and it was fun to pick punny names for all the cats.
Cat Cafe Manager is a super cute and very relaxing game. The instructions are clear and often help players with prompts and gentle reminders of tasks in the shop. The game does have some resource management that makes game play slow at the start and bottleneck closer to the end. If you have a basic grasp of these mechanics this is an easy 100% to complete in 24 to 48 hours of game time.
For whatever your reasons of considering this game know this:
Cute cats are included!!
Cafe designs are varied
Short and sweet story
Mention of same gender couples
No voice acting and some amount of reading for dialog
Only thing I can say that proved frustrating were these sets of furniture pieces purchased later on in the game. These pieces are for side story and include a book table, game table, photo table, tea table, and campfire. The stories stopped triggering in game and I had to sell the furniture then buy them back in order to get the side story beats to continue. So if you run into this same issue please keep that in mind.
Cute, simple game. It can get repetitive but I think it's good for playing in short bursts of time if you are busy. Seems like it would be nice to play on the Steam Deck. You can do one day and save the game. You can choose which types of people come to your cafe to get the supplies you need from them so you can upgrade your stuff and decorate. You can level up the cats and adopt them out of the cafe. I can't wait to try Cat Cafe Manager 2!
It crashes sometimes, but it has Arwel... so... 10/10.
I bought this game on the Switch a year ago and i thought it would be great to have it on Steam too! I love this game to death and I wouldn't able to rot in bed without it!
I fucking love this game and I look forward to playing the next one when it releases, super relaxing. This got me through a hellish semester.
Really fun game, super charming characters and art style, and the game-play mechanics are seamless.
genuienly obsessed with this game. i need 900 more of them immediately
A cute resource gathering game with some heartwarming character stories!! I love ALL the cafe regulars and their friendship table events, I just wish there was more! The gameplay is simple, but becomes tedious at a certain point. I mainly played to collect all of the kitties and unlock all of the character stories.
(8/10! I absolutely cannot wait for the sequel though!!)
This game had so much potential it I think the game devs have abandoned it early to make a newer version of the same game. Progress is imbalanced, I'm stuck spending all my earnings on ingredients so I cant save up enough to buy all the new recipes I've unlocked. It takes several in game days just to buy one new piece of furniture, or a litter box, or a plant decor. The balance between what I earn and what I need to spend is just way off. You can't fire the staff you hired, You ca't buy more cat lures to adopt new cats until you upgrade a fancier version of cat lure. And then just all the fun stuff is missing. You can't unlock different clothes or cat accessories or anything like that. I actually picked a shorter haircut for my character thinking I could change the boyish clothes to something cute and girly later so the hair looked like a pixie cut and not a boys cut. Still fun I'm just so disappointed they stopped working on this game so soon just to make people buy the second version of the game for all the cool updates this game deserves.
a very cute game with some cute and fun characters! i like the different mechanics (cat taming, customer requirements, shrine unlocks, etc) and the art style. overall its a simple game with a simple gameplay loop which i really enjoy!
Get this game if you like cats!!! I played this for a week and loved it it took me about two months to finish the game
Cozy, Relaxing, and Fun — but with Room for More Replayability
"Cat Cafe Manager" is the perfect game for anyone looking to unwind and embrace a relaxing, cozy atmosphere. From the moment you start managing your own cat cafe, you’re welcomed by a delightful combination of soothing gameplay, heartwarming characters, and an engaging storyline. The pacing of the game is fantastic — it’s neither too slow nor too fast, allowing you to enjoy each moment while making steady progress. The story is compelling, and the characters are incredibly well-designed, each with their own backstory that adds depth to the experience.
One of the highlights of the game is the vast array of decorating options. Whether it’s choosing furniture, decor, or creating the perfect ambiance for your cafe, there’s a lot of creativity to be explored. It’s satisfying to see your cafe come together, and it really reflects your personal style.
However, there are a few things I feel could make the game even better. After completing the main story, I found myself wishing for a sandbox mode to unlock. This would allow players to continue building and decorating without the constraints of the storyline, offering a more replayable experience. Additionally, while the cats are a central part of the game, I felt there could be more interactions with them. Things like playing, feeding, and petting the cats would add a bit more depth to the experience. Once you’ve maxed out your staff, it can feel like the game slows down a bit, and you’re left with more idle time as a player.
Overall, "Cat Cafe Manager" is a delightful, well-crafted game for anyone looking to enjoy a chill, story-driven experience. If you're a fan of decorating and managing cafes, you'll find plenty to love.
Cat Cafe Manager starts with you going to take over your Grandma's property in a small magical town. You take in a cat and then you start your cafe where you serve: water.
The game does a good job with the tutorials and the menus where you can read about the likes and dislikes of each of your patrons and how the cats traits will affect the people who visit your cafe.
There are lots of decorating options for the cafe and the special cats are very cute. I really liked the little alien cat, robot cat, ghost cat, and also Mingus.
The story revolves around the unique patrons that come into your cafe that knew your grandmother. There are opportunities for phone calls between you and the characters to invite them into your cafe to get to know them better. Eventually each character will reveal more story when you unlock their furniture items.
I had fun playing Cat Cafe Manager and their new game Cat Cafe Manager 2: Big City Bliss is on my radar. If you like simple cozy games that include cats I would recommend giving Cat Cafe Manager a try!
Disclaimer: i have not played since changing developers!
This game is super cute and fun. I love the skill curve, and love the different NPCs. I'm excited for the potential of more content as the game is not very robust, but is a great Time Management Sim!
Very cute and cozy lil game. I was kinda surprised I managed to get all the achievments this quick, wish there were more goals etc. But def worth a play.
And I will be checking out Cat Cafe Manager 2 once it releases.
Very cute and fun, moves along and has a heartwarming story. Crashed a few times, but resolved with a restart.
Cat Cafe Manager is a nice game - BUT it does not have much content.
I got all achievments in less than 16 hours. There is nothing more to do.
That is the only sad part you have to know. I paid about 7 € for 16 hours of fun.
That is "okay".
Unfortunately you can't expect more.
Such a cute, fun little game. It's so easy to zone out and get into this game.
Utterly love it. The people have a huge amount of character and many are extremely likeable. I would love more updates and achievements. I've ran out of goals and I could honestly invest hours and hours more into it.
This game is sooooo close to being amazing. It has, alas, a number of small flaws that add up to a very frustrating experience.
-entirely too easy to trash items (I have accidentally trashed so many chairs)
-no way to "delete" flooring once put down
-poor job of mechanics introduction (took way to long to realize experience points were a shared pool, still no idea what the footprint thought bubble means)
-no way to exit game or quit to title screen (I have heard this is Deck-only)
It's a great game, which just makes these flaws infuriating. If you can deal with them, I recommend it. If you need a smooth experience, I wouldn't.
Great, fun, cute game. I wish it was longer, I feel like I completed the shrines quickly. But I'm glad you can continue playing and receive more things if you continue.
Very cute, cozy, and simple game, like most have said. I managed to play it for 10 hours straight, I was so invested in the game loop and progression (and cats!). I completed over 70% of the skill trees within those 10 hours. After enough time, I had enough service workers to make it feel like an idle game.
I enjoyed the variety of characters and their designs, very artsy. This is basically a one and done game for me, I don't think I'll be starting a new cafe even when there is still decor to unlock. I have no desire to keep grinding for more decorations. That's just me. I'm very bad with interior decorating lmao
Definitely recommend the game, great job devs!
A unique management game, with a good story and cool characters. Also very accessible and digestible.
Very nice and cosy game, I did not have any crashes or bugs.
I had fun with this one. The gameplay loop is pretty much exactly what you'd expect – you sell food and drinks to customers, who pay you in resources that you use to buy upgrades and unlock more food items and furniture and whatnot. The art is cute, there's a storyline even if it's a bit of a light touch, and there are some NPCs with amusing dialogue (I particularly liked the punk and the business guy). It took me about 12 hours to complete the main storyline, and the 17.4 you should see attached to this review to get 100% achievements.
The main critiques I have of this game are really of the Steam Deck support. I COULD NOT figure out how to exit the game from actually within the game; all I could do was save it (or wait for the start-of-day autosave) and exit the game from the Steam menu. Additionally, the game really needs some kind of confirmation dialog before letting you sell furniture/decorative items, because I accidentally sold sooooo many items in the early days (before I learned to be super cautious). Or at least an "undo", you know. But in the grand scheme of things these are minor complaints.
claims its steamdeck certified but it wont let me move my cursor.. i cant even get through character maker.
This game had me hooked from the start!
The charm and cozy vibes are off the charts, and I loved every minute of decorating and running the place.
That said, after a while, it started feeling a bit like an idle game. The gameplay loop became more about passing days to stack up currency for decorations than running an exciting café. And while I loved leveling up my cats, the XP grind was slooooooow.
I wish there was more variety or depth to keep things engaging in the long run or have the potential for replayability, but even so, I had a great time. Would still happily pet cats and serve coffee again if we get new updates.
Cute!! I like finding all the cats and interacting with all the characters. If you're the kind of person who wants to be able to decorate and edit everything exactly to your specifications, this one might not be for you. Lots of different furniture, but you need like 8 different aesthetics happening at the same time in order to get all the buffs.
I really wanted to like this game. I really did. The cats were cute, the characters were nice, and the decoration had potential.
Unfortunately, this game is horrendously grindy past the first few hours. You're forced to spend in-game days just to gather enough currency for a single furniture item, and as you level up, it gets *worse*, not better- because the expensive ingredients requested for the late-game recipes requires that you spend multiple days grinding Witch currency just so you can afford to serve customers in your cafe.
I checked the game settings to see if there was a sandbox mode, but unfortunately there wasn't. The save files are also in binary so you can't just edit them to give yourself a few more resources to make the game enjoyable again.
I would not recommend this game at all. It's an exercise in frustration at its lost potential.
I see witches as an option, i see Halloween themed decor and not ONLY Spooky themed cafe items but also magical themed ones???
I buy, I click
I jive to the music and play as my zone out game and coo over adorable cats. . .then proceed to cry when i realize i can't keep them all which rude, i feel like i should be able to live out my crazy cat lady dreams.
But this game is adorable, very calming, it's become the game i play when i'm too overstimulated to play my usuals and it works like charm.
you can also pet and play with the kitties which bonus honestly.
10 out of 10, would recommend!! (Also gets another 5 stars for the secret cats. I love them with my whole heart)
I completed this game 100% and I loved it from start to finish.
Pros
Cats so cute
So much decorating
Art direction is wonderful
Cons
Skipped most of the dialogue because bland
Repetitive
What you do from the beginning is how you win in the end
I recommend buying on sale I would have not gotten it otherwise, but it is an adorable game nonetheless! I know the team was only three people and they did really well despite the cons :)
It's a good game if you skip the dialogue and don't click too fast - it will crash
This was just pretty boring. I'm sorry! The concept is fun, but the gameplay just does not follow up
A very tepid thumbs up. It's fine and mildly cute, but there really is not much else to it.
The biggest problem is that the Regulars don't have much personality. They're like caricatures of their archetypes. Furthermore, the game incentivizes you to avoid interacting with them so that you don't inadvertently level up their customer type, making them demand things that your cafe isn't ready to provide. So, I find myself just ignoring them until I'm ready to progress, which is just not how a real friendship is shaped. Like, I accidentally made friends with Carla-Lalla and now all the witch customers are just constantly stinking up my bathrooms and commenting on how I don't have enough unique plants. I'm sorry you're nervous about college or something, but let's be better strangers.
As a cozy game, again, it's fine. The good? Cats + designing my cafe. The bad? It's a little too mechanically frustrating to be truly cozy. For example, the customers will order menu items right before you close, leave almost immediately, and be upset that they didn't receive their order. The game is also weirdly opinionated about how I should design my cafe: among your level-up abilities, you randomly get ones that give you +2 in every stat if you have a certain type of decor and that's very good and hard to turn down. The downside is that it's so good that you are then bound to incorporate that clashing decor into your cafe. I find myself building a weird exile zone where I slap all the stuff I don't actually like but need to technically have in my cafe to get that sweet, sweet bonus, and that really does not tickle the brain cells.
All this aside, it's still a decent game. It works; it's cute; there are cats and you can pet them. You can judge for yourself if that's sufficient for you.
I love this game! It! Is! So! Cute!
I just 100%'d the game, and I really loved it. It was fun to listen to the story, build up my cat cafe, and meet / adopt various cats.
I love cute pix-elated games, plus games that you need to grind - not to mention, adorable art style - and this game combined all of that into one. I highly recommend if you enjoy simulator games, and have some time to spare every now and again.
:3
A fun little cozy game where you can zone out and complete not too hard little quests/achievements!
A nice and chill game about building and managing a cat cafe. The story was relatively short, and I finished it long before I even got close to finishing the majority of the achievements. The cat shrine is ridiculous easy to rebuild in comparison to the things like making money and adopting the cats, which might be by design.
If you're someone going after 100% achievements, I think it took me six+ hours, maybe even eight+ hours, after the completion of the story / cat shrine to actually finish off the last of the achievements. You just start grinding days over and over and over, money become useless and unnecessary, and you just turn your brain off until it's done.
Up until then, I enjoyed the game despite the hard struggle with money at the start.
Very very cozy game, the soundtrack is so cheerful and the animols just too cute, highly recommend, it´s a good distraction after a rough day at our stupid work. lol
So my game keeps just deleting my saves. Thats kind of a game breaking bug cant recommend yet.
