At first I thought the game was incredibly cool and I tried really hard to set everything up nicely, but I realized that it doesn't really matter how you set it up because you'll never see your creations again - ok then I'll set it up somehow and earn money quicker. Obviously I'm faster when I don't try to make it a nice looking home. Sad but I understand and it doesn't bother me, I have my own property where I can do and see my creastions. Well... now comes the catch....
When you finally get enough money together to open another property and can design the apartment as you want, you are somewhat limited there too because you're supposed to make and keep the tenants happy.
this woman says she wants to do more exercise, I should please redesign her bedroom. Ok... sounds fun, something new and interesting. I click on the apartment and .... I SHOULD PLACE A FAT TREADMILL IN THE START 60 SQUARE METER APARTMENT!!!!!, which I already have comfortable set up - I even should change the floors! I lost it! MAYBE I could have said ,,no'', I can't remember anymore but either way this pissed me off. I can't remember if I had an option to say no tho.
What is the game actually about? So running a property or not...you spend a lot more time setting up other people's apartments than running your property. And setting it up probably doesn't matter either. At least I want to decorate my property myself the way I want! Small changes can be fun but a fking giant treadmill in the bedroom, where the apartment is already tiny!?!?!?
The game isn't all bad, it's still a cute game and you can unlock certain things later. There are skills, rewards, even a map where you want to work your way up and so on. The game does have something to offer and definitely has potential, but the 2 situations that I have described are simply a complete breaking point TO ME because the fun part I expected and hoped for are not there. It's not a bad game, but the game is also VERY monotonous and boring once you've already seen everything. I really tried hard to like the game, but after 30 hours I've seen a lot and enough and I have to say - I can't recommend it.

The game has been abandoned since the release of DLC, which left the base game a buggy mess with unobtainable and broken achievements.
If only my landlord was as considerate as we are playing this awesome game :)
Bland, boring and awkward to play.
Played since early access - after full released I became addicted and now multiple of my friends are also addicted. If House Flipper and Sims are your type of games, you will probably enjoy this.
the game works badly, i start a new game and i cant keep playing the tutorial since it bugs in the "now clic de configuration" and i smash that button a lot but nothing happens, hope they fix this game soon

So many buttons to click on just to do one simple thing that should have already been on the tab you were already on!
Different notifications going off as if its something new but its the same tenant you are currently work on ... on the exact issue.

We all loved this really nice and addictive game at some point, despite the glitches.
Due to the ongoing conflict between the publisher and the developer studio, the game is now in an abandoned state.
Development and bug fixing were abruptly stopped.
You are now unable to get all achievements as seasonal events have postproned.
Bugs can ruin your play at any moment, and no one will help you, and no one will even respond.
Developers are forbidden from providing even verbal support.
The first rule of The Tenants is not to talk about The Tenants.

Just don't buy it. Give them all time.
Got this with another game that was on sale and in full honesty... Its unplayable. Its broken most the time your playing and you can very easily soft lock yourself by just exists. I hadn't even finished the tutorial when it had happened. I tried to place furniture into second part and placed it wrong. Tried to move it and game wouldn't allow and insisted that I had to do the next step without completely the previous and it processed to keep telling me to also place the furniture im missing! Did a new play through and this time I didn't even mess up and the game kept saying that I needed to finish placing furniture. Just game up after that.

Basically Sims but only the landlord DLC. I find the building mechanics of Sims a lot more fun and functional than this too (is there an undo button here?? CNTR+Z seems to randomly undo one of your last moves and not the latest move) (corner counters don't snap, which is super annoying when you have a "puzzle room" to work in tight space).
The tutorials explain way too much on too simple stuff (like how to control the Uncle) but don't properly explain what makes an apartment prestigious.
Also, and more importantly: VERY BUGGY! Got stuck in the tutorial THRICE, because I did the expected action from the tutorial and it didn't register it so (the first time it happened, I actually spent quite some time trying other things, because I thought that I understood the game mechanic wrong). Each time, I had to restart the game. Also, at times, your job tells you to get rid of a tenant, and when you do, you they leave you a negative review because they actually wanted you to keep them?
The game itself isn't the bomb, but it can be played occasionally. The frequent bugs however, make it very frustrating. Kinda regretting buying it right now.

I was really looking forward to this game but the game is unfortunately literally unplayable. It has a glitch at the very start of the tutorial so you can not move forward with the game. I reported it via the in game feature to developers and they did not get back to me. I tried to seek a refund via steam and it was refused despite the game not being usable. I strongly recommend no one wastes their money on this unplayable game.

Game is fun if theyd work on the bugs. Hit f5 and it dont save and cant do elite missions. Serious lagging going on to!!!

DOnt buy it, its bugged in the tutorial. You cant pass.
I used to love this game a lot, but the further in to the game you get, the more problems you run into. The game starts to lag, A LOT after the third district and when trying to spend time decorating a place, it just becomes more frustrating than fun. The game is also very grindy so getting through jobs to even get money takes a long time. And when you get several tenants in a district, you are bombarded with texts from your tenants 24/7 to do unimportant things when you have better paying jobs to deal with. I would have liked to have the option for the manager to take over all that for also the CURRENT area you are in so I can stick to the part of the game that is supposed to be fun.
When you get to a point that jobs only pay 20-30k per gig and the houses pay 1m+ each, the game become too grindy to even bother. It's too bothersome to even get tenants out of your old places to sell them. No mater how many skunks you send their way, they just stay in your place out of spite. I would be happy to pay a penalty to kick them out early to sell the damn place. There is also no point in building family homes if the idea is to just rent out rooms or the entire flat to one person. Having family tenants would be nice to build for and not have 6 drunken artists in one flat paying peanuts per room. The amount of babysitting these people is not worth the hassle, even for the rent income.
Remove traffic from the third district. Yea it looks cool but the lag makes the game unenjoyable. Give us rooms that fit the kitchen counters well. I'm tired of having a small little slot of room between a wall and the counters. Let us earn MUCH more money from the gigs so I don't have to go hours spamming jobs I don't really want to do. Or increase rent so I can rely more on rent income to make do. Elite contracts should feel like they pay much more than the rest. Now they're just there to break the pace on looking at another apartment, another house, build another bathroom, another kitchen. Empty plots to build an entire house would also be cool.
its a very fun game but it feels like its still a beta game. alot of bugs and glitches witch can break your save or get you stuck so you have to cansel quests .
This game used to be fun long time ago when it actually worked & they kept putting out updates to fix crashes. The game is now no longer working & has a ton of glitches. Can't even get past the tutorial. Save your money & don't buy the game.

I played this game since it released its demo, and it did not disappoint me.
of course, at the beginning, it has less items to furnish and stuff. but the devs kept updating, so it is a lot better now.
in a bigger picture you have 2 ways to make money.
1. do jobs like renovating, whole flipping the house, conducting a open house, or babysitting tenants.
2. buy your own and receive rents from your own tenants.
you have 3 different district, and you start from slums, to suburbs, then to city. It take a lot to get to the city I have yet to get there. even if you have your own property, you still need to take jobs to make enough money to complete the quests.
honestly from suburbs, it feels like a grinds sometimes, but it is still fun enough.
I would recommend this game if you like furnishing, and managing. it is chill to play this one when I'm exhausted from just building, or from ext ream managing game.
but DLC seems like the completely different story.
Laggy, tedious and grindy, and I'm pretty sure it's not getting updated anytime soon. Do the same ten or so jobs for hours to be able to buy a property to work more to furnish that property and then rent it and repeat. It is good but I would only ever buy it on a major sale.
I have put almost 13 hours into this game and while it is grindy, I loved it. I love the concept and I love the possibilities the game offered. That said, I have finally, like many others in the reviews, reached a glitch that has made the game broken and no longer playable. There's no information online for the specific problem I encountered and as far as I can tell, the devs probably will not issue an update to fix the bugs breaking the game. It's for that reason that I can't recommend anyone buying it.
I wouldn't buy this unless it's on sale. Devs haven't updated the game or made a peep in a while. The game has potential but becomes so repetitive so quickly. I hate the design jobs - you're forced to cram a bunch of random furniture into a tiny room. It's not fun and you're not really decorating anything. The landlord part would be fun but the game barely focuses on that. It's just grindy design jobs.
I have tried to play but its now stuck on the tutorial to pet the animal its now fully unplayable. Many others seem to have the same problem in the forums even since last year. Please fix this or let us know a workaround.

It sad that it became abandoned and a cash grab do not buy this game or dlc till it is fixed patched updated.
Until then my review is negative.... which is unfortunate the game was enjoyable in the past but now unplayable, stuck and highly bugged.
Wish steam had a report function cause these money grab techniques with unfinished/broken contents is quite shady....
Once "if" they patch their game i would then update my review.... until then.... sighs

Very fun game, and if you like to build and stuff this is the game to get. Its funny how some of the tenants are alcoholics and drug dealers .
do not buy this game is broken and they wont fix it after u unlock second city the game gets unplayable it freezes and crashes constantly too bad i cant refund becuz i played too long
it's fun and has more depth than a lot of the reviews make it seem.
to make a point for some:
- you can have more than 2 properties on the 1st map, it's an option to be bought and found at the bottom of that menu
- there's tenant types that have different motives and like/dislike certain things more.
- you unlock a ton of new stuff every time you level up or do one of the 'elite' missions
- there's 3 maps that have around 50 properties each
- the ceiling is very high and the game starts very low when it comes to properties, be it size, price or possibilities

I expected way more, feels very shallow. Basically house flipper, but worse, and managing properties sucks and is outright boring..
Honestly was fun for 7 hours, but it is one of THE most repetitive games I've ever played.
Feels like a stripped down house flipper meets a stripped down Sims, but removes all the fun parts of the Sims and leaves you with the annoying bits.
Buy it on sale.
"Become a landlord and deal with problematic tenants" Only "problem" tenants I've had were drunks, but no drama happened. They would just pay, and live, and demand I do something every once in a while.
"Decide how to react to annoyed neighbors or police interventions" is literally where you click 1 of 2 buttons.
"Will you design your apartment for a group of gamer friends or an aspiring musician looking for a new home?" Each tenant likes/dislikes certain types of furniture type, like "Modern" or "Posh". They have no personality, just simple likes/dislikes. Not to mention, you can't really admire your work when you have 14 other tenants texting you and telling you they have problems.
I expected something where I could own a big apartment complex, and work out actual problems. Not babysit a toddler in a low poly adult's body.
Either play House Flipper or Sims.
absolutely addicting!!! I'm not a huge gamer, I stick to The Sims and stuff like that but this is super fun. could do better at explaining controls and such but i figured it out =o)
I've been following this game before it was released. I finally grabbed it on a 70% sale and I'm telling to please do NOT buy this game.
Too many restrictions (only 2 properties on the first map while needing to earn around 8-10k from them).
You have to help tennants to exercise (through a mini game with a very bugged view) to keep them happy, otherwise they'll pull a muscle and will be mad at you. Totally unrealistic.
To get more furniture in the classic Landlord mode, you have to do Every. Single. Job. It's way too gringy. So instead of enjoying decorating, you have put the same furniture and floors and wall paint over, and over, and over, and over again. Not to mention that the available furniture is not only ugly, but you have to tend to a specific preferance of prestige and style (posh, modern, vintage, etc), which leaves you with very little choice, if with any at all. For example, a tennant dislikes Basic furniture, but in order to deliver the job, you HAVE to add that furniture because it's required by the list, otherwise you don't be able to deliver the job. A complete lack of logic, and all of that gets old way too fast.
In short: way too repetitive, tedious, boring, and restricting. The game has been abandoned by devs & it feels like an early access. I recommend ignoring this game. Would get a refund if I could.
