I thought it was a very cute game, but I finished the main story in about 5 hours, so I would have been frustrated had I purchased the game at full price (got it on sale for $3.99). I will likely get the second one once it's released, but will also probably wait until it goes on sale before I do.
Excellent casual exploration game with cute characters and decent challenges. I 100% completed the game in 4 hours, but I could see a less devoted person taking more like 5-6. Despite not taking a long time, Toem is beautiful and I'm very glad I got to experience it!
First played this game when it was on gamepass. When I saw the announcement for Toem 2 I wanted to play 1 again. It was just as fun and charming the second time around. The picture taking puzzle solving is kept fresh with the introduction of new camera features introduced through out the game. It has a better post game than most AAA game release. Definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes short quirky puzzle games.
I LOVE Toem!!! It is such a cute and cozy adventure. The camera mechanic is super fun and all the characters inside the game are so charming. Very appealing art style and soundtrack. Everything feels so perfect in this game, the only issue is that I wish it was longer... BUT TOEM 2 IS ANNOUNCED!!! I'm so excited!!
Overall a wonderful experience, amazing to wind down to. I would not buy this game full price (I didn't) but when it's on sale, its a no-brainer.
its a nice simple game that you can just chill out to! i love the characters in this game, they are very silly and this game has a lot of personality! i would recommend trying out the demo and seeing if its your kind of game especially if you like cozy games
I'm not sure what it is about this game, I just found it really fun. I play a lot of difficult games, so sometimes it's nice to play something laid back. I really liked the vibe of the graphics, the music, and the black and white presentation. Though simple, I enjoyed the quests that are provided in each zone. Most were easy, but a few made me think. I enjoyed finding everything in the album and getting all the achievements. It's just a really charming game and I'm looking forward to the next one.
What a cute little game! I enjoyed finding all the different things to take photos of. I needed a guide for some of them though, but even just figuring out where they were was a fun experience 😄 I loved every minute of playing this game!

A good game to relax or take a break from more "serious" or complex games. Enough puzzle elements that it's not a walking simulator , but nothing that requires breaking out the pen & paper.

This was really really really nice to play through. Just an amazing experience, the game is just full to the top with charm, love and fun. Genuinely a 10/10 game, each area and interaction felt unique and just lovely. Please play this game, you will love it.
Honestly one of the best cozy games around. Incredibly unique gameplay tied with a unique art style makes this game work well. All for $20, you can't go wrong. Here's to Toem 2 having the same the success as the first game the devs deserve it!
I really enjoyed this chill little photo adventure. The art style, music, and style of exploration and discovery make this such a fun and relaxed experience. There is no time limit or pressure. Most of the quests/puzzles are pretty easy to work out and you don't need to complete all of the quests in an area to move on, so you are unlikely to end up frustrated or stuck. You can also revisit the areas later to complete quests or revisit something you missed the first time.
I completed most of the community card quests as I was going through my initial playthrough and then went through the levels again with a guide to 100% all the achievements. It's one of very few games I have 100% achievements on and it was a lot of fun to find the little easter eggs hidden across the levels. Logcity felt a little out of place with its busy atmosphere and loud cars (didn't fit the games relaxing theme as well) but I really enjoyed the base game and the extra content the devs released as a free content update - it was a lot of fun working with the added day/night puzzle element in Basto.
I first played this on the Nintendo Switch, but absolutely HAD to buy it again on Steam! After 100%ing it on the Switch, I also decided realized my partner would likely appreciate this, and was able to share a portion of the experience with them.
We both deeply wept with the utmost joy at the entire experience.
The art-style is adorable, the gameplay is tight and effective, the characters are cute, and story is so heartwarming, and the options for customizing photos keeps me coming back over and over again!

Ive finished the base game within 4 hours, and it was a very pleasant time. I solve and get most achievements by myself, minus like 2-3 that I really dont get the hint. So overall, not very hard, but it is quite satisfying when figured out the solution. A small aha moment.
I will continue to finish the added content next, and most likely will get all the achievements.
As a photograph hobbiest, I need more "photography" game like these XD It scratch a certain itch in my brain that I never knew I needed. It also motivates me a bit more on my photography hobby. Good game.
A journey to TOEM

TOEM is a beautiful story of a character making their way to see the sight that is TOEM. This game has an incredibly-crafted story, driven by you. There is genuinely so much to do and so many lovely sights. I took so many photos playing this game and pet so many cats...
I have 100% this game after 5 1/2 hours of playtime - and I enjoyed every minute. From the creation of the scenery to the witty and cute characters, there is something you would love in this game. I would describe it as a walking simulator crossed with hidden object games. It's cosy, cute, challenging (with the wording of puzzles) and very relaxing to sit back with a controller in hand (the way they suggest to play!)
The achievements are practically unmissable, bar one or two that I had to go back to do. However, it is easy to get all 48 achievements with ease in one run. If you struggle with any puzzles there are well-made guides for it; don't be ashamed, I also had to use one for a couple of them!
I really recommend this game, to anyone really. It's such a unique experience and I am so glad I bought this and played. And better yet because TOEM 2 is being made! I played at the right time.
This game is so cute and cozy! It is the kind of game you want to play when you want to relax and just have fun. The devs really utilized every map, making every location serve its purpose. Plus, they added Basto, an additional map, for free (they did not make it a DLC!) to thank all the TOEM players. I will NEVER regret the money I spent on this game.

Very cute and chill game where you take pictures while completing tasks for characters. Not hard to complete and not long, but still very fun and absolutely worth the time.
Such a cozy game, sometimes the music catches me off guard and get scared. But overall a nice game to really be open and take pictures of what we see instead like when we were children.

I had so much fun snapping all the photos and figuring out the puzzles with quite a few giggles along the way.
Honestly I enjoyed it so much, I had to get all the achievements (with some difficulty...and some help :-)
But I'm so glad i did because there were a few things I would have never found that were super cute and awesome. Filling up my little album was super satisfying - like interactive wheres wally.

LOVE THIS GAME!!
Its so cute and fun, and still challenging enough for me to have to use a guide to 100%. Really thoroughly enjoyed playing, BINGED the entire game in 1 evening (from dinner to like 2am oops x3).
Honestly its definitely up there with my top indie games.
Pros:
- Cute artstyle
- Fun maps and charecters
- fun secret cubes and collectables
- Really enjoyable gameplay, movement is good, camera is as expected, promps for interaction, and all the essentials in the menus
- Just overall a fun game to play
Cons: (Nit-picky at worst and easily ignoreable)
- Some pictures of creatures look a bit blurry no matter what distance you take them. It's not super important to the game though
- Would of liked to see something akin to the LEGO games secret finder items in this, just so I could have not used a guide at all.
- Maps can get a bit confusing if you're bad with directions, but you find where you want to go eventually
- I would have liked to know I could place the stamps freely, it might of said but It took me till the 4th area to figure it out
TOEM
Toem is a little cozy adventure in which you solve simple puzzles, help npcs in need and take pictures of creatures while trying to reach the top of a mountain to observe what this journey was really about.
Story
The story of Toem is quite simple: The player slips into the role of a young photographer whose grandmother tells them about her story how she witnessed the “Toem” phenomenon many years ago. Now your task is to see the wonderful phenomenon yourself and you get send on a journey full of cozy adventures and photography.
Personal Note
I didn’t expect much of Toem itself but I knew that it was a cozy game and I really was in the mood for such a game and saw that it was on a steep discount during the last Winter Sale and I ended up buying it. I’m a fan of virtual photography myself so the theme of taking pictures of creatures and solving simple puzzles while exploring a black and white environment really intrigued me and the game hooked me instantly. I completed one region a day and it took me about 5 hours to fully complete the game – yes, it’s short but lovely. The music, the charm and the slightly silly dialogues and absurd situations you find yourself in while you play through Toem made my day and I really enjoyed every minute of it.
But I have to say that if I wasn’t in the mood for a relaxing and short game, I might have not enjoyed it as much. As I’ve mentioned earlier, it took me about 5 hours to fully complete the game and that was fine with me but I can see how some people might not be a big fan of that especially since the game itself is very simple but full of charm and I can tell that the developers put a lot of love into it.

A very cute puzzle game with a photography bent. The music is very chill, the pace is relaxed and the puzzles are challenging without being stressful. I also really like the hand-drawn art style.
The base game is quick to play through, but 100%-ing adds more playtime.
Great cozy game but needs a couple of quality of life improvements. Namely:
- I often get lost going to an NPC to claim a stamp. Maybe it's best to have some kind of navigation system to find the NPCs location easier. This may be in a form of a compass where you can pin NPCs you met or a (non interactive) map where these NPCs are marked as I meet them.
- A way to "fast travel" to another town/city without going to the bus stop; Or maybe as simple as a "fast travel" to a bus stop.
Amazing game, clearly made with love by the devs.

Highly recommend. I loved the pacing, the artstyle, the attention for detail. The music is just beautiful and suits the experience very well. While playing this game you can really feel that the team behind this truly cares about the players and their game. Can't wait to see what else this dev team has in store for us:)

TOEM was a heartwarming indie game that really felt like a well-executed passion project from the developers. Each character is charming, each quest is quirky, and the photography journey that TOEM takes you on is a fun one full of chill jams and beautiful hand-drawn art. Coming back to TOEM later for the DLC after experiencing the breathtaking ending was, to me, a nostalgic experience; the DLC was a large yet fantastic adventure full of characters old and new. Loved it, 100%ed it (except for all animals), one of those experience-once games you look back on fondly.
Every corner of this game was made with so much love and care for detail, it is truly a joy to play through the different regions. One of the few games that managed to make me smile. :) I would like to add that the achievements of this game might be the most fun I've ever completed. They didn't waste your time and instead made you discover little secrets in the world that you wouldn't want to miss in the first place! Even though they can be a bit tough to discover at times, checking a guide doesn't remove the fun because the payoff doesn't get spoiled.

It was...okay? I don't really have anything negative to say, but don't really have anything glowing to say, either. I guess it never really captured my imagination and made me say, "Wow, I can't wait to keep playing this game!" But it was an amusing escape for 8 hours or so, and it's really sweet that the devs added more content after the game was finished, so I'm still glad I played.
Such a cute game and fun to get to 100% by collecting all of the small critters and such. Very engaging and addicting with many questlines :)
Very cute, silly game that has a fun premise and well implemented controls. I liked the janky indie graphics and the black and white was a nice touch.
I was doubtful at first if I'd like a game like TOEM, but I'm so happy I bought it! What an addicting game where I even wanted to hunt all the achievements which is usually nothing like me. TOEM has beautiful art, lovely music, great puzzles to solve with the photographing game mechanic, characters to fall in love with, great humor and as a player you have a comfy feeling while playing. I'm looking forward to TOEM 2 with excitement!

I found out about this game two years ago, and since then has been my fav game. Its comfy, beautiful, and very cute.
Every year i need to play again to feel all the good feelings once again.. i cant wait to play Toem 2 either.

I played SEASON right before this so i wasn't new to the whole photography gameplay schtick. I love the overall simplicity of this one, though! Clear story and clear goals throughout. You don't really need to get *all* stamps for each place but it's satisfying if you do. Of course, it'd be better if there was an extra award for those (like me) who stayed in each place till I got all the stamps. Like an extra accessory or extra mixtape. Animation style is very cute! I hope there's an update in the future where the background music doesn't just taper off abruptly, though. And I would've definitely wanted more places to explore so maybe there'll be a DL for those in the future?
Overall, good buy and a very chill and fun game!

Love this game! It’s fun to do the mission and also a bit challenging! I like the squeaky voice of the shoes too! Buy it if you like simple cozy puzzle game! And somehow the scenery is very good even though its’s black and white!

I really like games like this one, it's a shame that they always seem so rare to find for me personally. The style's cute, the stories are too, and just the concept of photography being used as the main tool is always fun. Haven't completed it yet, but I'm sure i'll be done quickly :)
Not a bad game by any means, just would not recommend it to anyone because I had little fun playing it. It is very simple in game mechanics so you need to fall in love with the characters/aesthetic/sounds, which I just didn't. If you are looking for something short and cozy, and you are doubting this game, I would check out A Short Hike.
For 4,5h I forgot everything around me because I was so eager to take all the pictures :)
TOEM is a cute little game with a funny story and different places to explore.
Also, its one of this games where my friends instantly would say "of course YOU played that" lol
