TOEM: A Photo Adventure

i'm not usually a completionist, but this game was so fun and charming that i went out of my way to complete every quest and collect every collectible. i loved playing it! highly recommend for those looking for a cute, chill puzzle adventure

A really cute game about being a good community member by mainly taking photos, while you make your journey to photograph the elusive "TOEM." I enjoy taking photos in real life and I find a lot of joy in this game, it has a lot of quirk and I like the little references sprinkled throughout the maps. It's fun trying to complete your compendium, which could be a bit bigger with more creatures to document, but it's already quite a nice size to reasonably fill it out during regular game play, and nothing that you have to go so out of your way for. I enjoy the puzzles and above all, the art style. even though this game is mostly in black and white, I register it in colour in my mind, which is so bizarre, however, I think because the environments are so well filled out with their texture and, items and even just filler, the experience is immersive enough to let you mentally fill in the blanks. I can't wait for the second game to experience more of this charm!

What a joyful pleasure this game was. I knocked it out in about 3.5 hours, which was the perfect length for this charming little indie adventure to provide a memorable one-shot experience without overstaying its welcome. You play as this little dude with a camera on a journey to capture an incredible natural phenomenon with your point-and-shoot. Along the way, you have to complete challenges and requests for quirky NPCs in each of the handful of regions you pass through on your way to the final destination. The magic of this game is that none of the puzzles or seek-and-find requests ever felt tedious, grindy, or frustrating. I found genuine pleasure in photographing small moments and pretty scenes - made all the better by the absolutely adorable art style. Despite its (mostly) black-and-white palette throughout, the game drips with character and depth and somehow feels greater than the sum of its parts. It was definitely a worthwhile investment of my time and I just can't believe I waited three years to give this one a go. When I hit the credits, all I could do was smile.

The absolute definition of wholesome!!! Very new and stylistic while also giving me some huge nostalgic vibes from playing paper mario as a tween. The soundtrack in particular is unforgettable and I listen to it all the time. Can be a bit challenging if you are trying to 100% without a guide but otherwise great for all ages!

Short, simple and clever puzzle game. Not too easy or complicated, making it suitable for all ages no matter their skills for decoding riddles or having a good eye for background details.

The puzzles are generally intuitive and encourage experimentation and an eye for observation. There's a strong emphasis on discovery and the game happily rewards such efforts with new accessories for the main character, or amusing new details about the world itself.

I was also pretty impressed with the visual style, as the developers clearly took care in designing the world to be easy to read with simple shapes and lines, as to not make the backgrounds or characters hard to read whilst taking photographs. This approach is clever but it's also undeniably charming. The black-and-white aesthetic is easy on the eyes and the humour is lighthearted without ever being overdone or hammy. All-in-all, it's a delightful little puzzle game.

You can pet the good bois and gurls, took a nice picture of them all (especially Meck the goodest boi <3)

TOEM is a fun, short playthrough. The puzzle/exploration aspect is mostly map memorization, pattern-matching, recognizing blind spots, and word-object association. It's not too difficult, though for 100% completion it's likely you'll want to search some things up to reduce tedious backtracking. I played this alongside a friend, which I think also kept me engaged through the slower parts of the exploration.

There are some fun surprises if you take chances with photographing random things, and the game often rewards you for being curious. The characters and writing is charming, though I occasionally find it unpleasant to mix human characters with humanoids/creatures. TOEM leans into the challenges with rendering 3D objects in the 2D viewfinder. The final effect is quirky rather than janky, which also describes a lot of the gameplay and overworld feel. The game could do more with allowing new tools to open up old obstacles, though I also respect the decision to keep the game simple.

TOEM: A Photo Adventure is a nice adventure game where you have to take some pictures of specific characters, flora, fauna, etc... to complete many quests. The black and white design is really cool with a nice ambiant. I highly recommend it!!! 🖤🩶🤍

Toem may be one of the most beautiful games i have ever played. I got this game for Free via EGS, but after one level, i knew i had to come to Steam and buy the game full price and the soundtrack to boot. this game is simple, it's funny, it's witty, and it's gorgeous.
I dare say it may be on my short list of my favorite games of all time. i have rarely ever had a game that consumes my thoughts for longer than i played the game.
Today they announced a sequel, and that motivated me to finally finish the DLC for this game. I am So happy.

Toem is one of the most charming and relaxing games on steam. Totally recommend this cute photographic adventure game! I love everything about it (wondering what it'd look like with colors though hahaa). The characters are cute and funny, and the gameplay is very chill and relaxing (just take photos and talk with people to get quests and stamps in order to proceed to next town). I sometimes just let it be just to see the cute environment. It's a very healing game and i hope there is a sequel or maybe dlc to it in future! 10/10!

Absolutely wonderful little game. Its got a cute world to explore with lots of neat characters, and I had a ton of fun taking pictures of everything to fill out the gallery.

TOEM is an adorable wholesome photography game where you go around the world solving puzzles with your camera. Everything about this game is cute, from the simplistic art to the cheery music. The characters are delightfully silly. The game is easy to pick up, but some puzzles had me stumped for a while as I searched the world for a solution. There's a good variety of things to do, customization options to collect, and filters to choose from. I really enjoyed this, and I'd recommend this to any age range and anyone who loves laid-back cozy gaming.

A very relaxing and cozy game. It was fun to meet all the characters and figure out how the quests were connected. The photography was fun, and all the dressing items were fun to use. The music was relaxing.

Cons of this game would be no PlayStation controller buttons (generic or X-box only, I guess) and no X-axis support for us weirdos. I still would recommend this game.

The premise is simple yet captivating: take pictures. You embark on a journey through multiple distinct and beautifully designed locations, with your goal being to explore, help characters, and snap the perfect photos. Along the way, you have goals of completing quests, side-quests, and finding hidden secrets. The achievement titles can give you hints for finding these secrets.

I think the devs were inspired by Pokemon Snap, due to its photography-based gameplay, but TOEM takes the concept in a fresh direction. It’s polished, accessible, and infused with modern game design, making it a standout in its own right.

If you're looking for a light and relaxing game that you can enjoy over a day or two, this is absolutely worth your time. Its charm, and cozy atmosphere make it a great choice for relaxing. I give TOEM a strong 8.5/10.

The base game in itself is already a super pleasant and happy experience - lots of small details which will make you smile. This type of game you don't come across as often as it wants you to slow down and really just enjoy the moment. some puzzles/quests are not as simple or easy but the fun is in the exploration, ofcourse. Cute artstyle, great soundtrack and sound design, intuitive but versatile controls. Best of all, the DLC is already included :D

A thoroughly enjoyable romp through a series of interesting landscapes filled with characters ranging from goofy to adorable to just plain fun. I love games that are their own thing and don't feel like they need to stretch their story out. This one has such a cozy and lovely vibe and I would absolutely recommend taking this for a spin.

It took me only about 5 hours to be the entire story, though I think it could be completed quicker. Highly recommend for a lazy Saturday! :)

Fantastic Game, something about this style of gameplay really draws you in. Achievable goals, simple controls and a fun storyline all tie it together nicely. would definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a game that you can actually finish but still gives you a good 5 hours+ playtime. not sure that id pay $30 for it, but i only ever buy games on sale anyway.

Lovely little game. Easy to step into and out of, and nothing super difficult to solve. The story is cute, and there are some wholesomely funny moments throughout the game. I enjoyed every minute of my play. Can 100% in a single play-through. Highly recommend.

TOEM is suitable for all audiences. Everything from its friendly nature, to the ease of control, to the cute characters and catchy tunes, TOEM hits the mark in many ways. Though I wish it were longer, a part of me thinks the short length adds to the simplicity and relaxation aspect of the experience. It was just so inviting, especially during days where you want to do something easy and not necessarily feel too challenged, making me wish there was more content and areas to explore. TOEM 2, perhaps?

TOEM is a very cute puzzle solving game! The graphics are adorable, the story is easy enough to follow, and you can do a completionist run the first time around, so, minimal back tracking required!

A relaxing and peaceful game. I had a lot of fun, I wish I could experience this game for the first time again. With not so complicated puzzles and really cool mechanics too. I loved the game's soundtrack.

So, I played this game for two hours, and by the end i was a little bit glad it was over.

Even though I liked the artstyle, the music and generally the characters and atmosphere, there is by far not enough content in this game to warrant a 20 buck price tag. I was satisfied and felt like my money was worth it pretty well, but i got it for 4 bucks on a sale.
And I am not one of those "I need at least 20 hours of game time for 20€" - give me a really packed game for 3 hours and i will be happy. But this aint it, chief. Its like a simple, single minigame stretched 3 hours and by the end you will be kinda happy its over too.

I give it a thumbs up here.

What an absolutely amazing game. I just played the whole game in one 4 hour session and I loved every second of it. The artstyle is just amazing and I love all the little details. You can really see how much love is put into this game. Especially at the end of the DLC you can see how much it means to them that people like their game and I just love that. Thank you for making such a great game! :D I hope to see more games like that in the future. Can only recommend it to everyone who hasn't played it yet!!

I absolutely adored playing this game, and was initially sad when I realised I had finished it... until I realised there was a bonus chapter (yay!).
I loved all the characters,the missions, the locations and the adorable drawings. My favourite part was going on a date with the pretty ghost. I took so many pictures, avoiding the correct location, so that we could play together a bit longer lol
I do wish there were more pages on the album, I was enjoying taking pictures of locations and things I liked, but kept running out of space for pictures :(

Where do I start? This is one of my favourite games in recent years. Ever since I saw the trailer in a Nintendo Direct, I immediately fell in love with the game. I have played it on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One (via Game Pass) and Playstation 5 via the PS Plus membership.

I recommend this game to anyone who wants to try it. It's a 10 out of 10 from me :)

I don't normally play games that are at all remotely like this but I absolutely enjoyed every single minute of it. The only bad thing about this game is that it has an ending and that I had to stop playing. I wish I could erase my memory and delete all my progress just so I can experience it all over again for the first time.

It's a cute little puzzle game. Pretty short game in comparison to other puzzle games out there. It took me <7 hours to 100% the game and achievements. Overall recommend if you can get the game on sale!

This game is a ton of fun, especially for anyone who likes collecting, exploring, and solving puzzles. Make your way through different towns and earn your bus pass to the next one by completing photo challenges. Can be challenging at times but rewarding to solve all the different puzzles.
