TOEM: A Photo Adventure

Played this on Switch first and when i saw on Steam i had to get it for the achievements. Just noticed I havent got them all yet so even more reason to play again

This game is such a refreshing change of pace. The story is simple, but so interesting. Going around and helping everyone while completing your album on your grand journey to find TOEM is such a simple, but great concept. You find yourself wanting to see each character's little story, which is exactly what you want in a game like this.

I 100%ed it in about 4 and a half hours and enjoyed every second of it. I recommend this to anyone who wants a refreshing experience. I WILL be playing the second one when it comes out. Great job devs!!

Really fun game like the Black and White background, Visuals look good and the Gameplay is fun love the Photography style, the story is pretty basic but it was a joy of an experience but I had fun with this game it's worth a play if you love Photography

A short and sweet game to play when you just want to wind down for the day. The developers poured so much love into this and it's evident as you play through.

Absolutely adorable! I loved just running around with my little camera taking pictures of everything. The mini quests, the outfits, and the npcs, all very funny to encounter. If you want a cosy little adventure, I highly recommend :3

PS. Don't forget to take selfies, too!

Beautiful uplifting fun casual puzzle game. I loved every minute of it, and super appreciated the extra content that was given for FREE, instead of as a DLC. The labour of love was apparent in every moment. :) Thank you for this game and may all your upcoming games be just as spectacular.

The vibes are off the charts. Trying to play this game without cracking a smile is impossible. Charming as hell.

This was such a fun and relaxing game to play. I don't usually go out of my way to 100% games or leave reviews, but TOEM was just such a wonderful experience. I could listen to the soundtrack on repeat; super chill, and always fit so well with the environment. I love how even though the gameplay was simple, and the levels were easy to get around, I always felt interested in what I did, where I went, who I talked to, and always felt satisfied completing the various missions and puzzles. There was so much love put into this game and I cannot wait to play the next TOEM!

Beautiful game, super wholesome and sweet! I did it in one (long) sitting but there's enough that you could keep playing for a while and not get bored - especially finding all the secrets. Can't wait to play Toem 2

As a professional photographer myself, I absolutely loved the whole concept of this game. This was such a cozy yet beautiful experience. Its rare to find games that have emphasis on taking pictures and use it as part of the narrative. Photography means a lot to me and it made me really happy to play an indie game with something that i really enjoy doing IRL!!! I often found myself trying to get the right angle and right composition for a lot of the stuff the game wants u to take pictures of, even though the game doesn't require u to get the angles and all that right. The games environments are so nice especially when u can see everything was hand-drawn it gives it a special touch honestly and i love it. Game has a beautiful soundtrack too! The game really hooked me and I enjoyed its short welcome :) If ur a photographer or ur into photography (not that is required to be one to play this) you should really try this game out!!! cant wait for toem 2!!!

I was in a bit of a gaming rut for a while and could not find any game that could cure it until I read about this game online and gave it a try - I was looking for something relaxing, yet fun, and still a little challenging, and this hit all the spots. I have 100% it and I am patiently waiting and super excited for Toem 2!!

This was a pleasant surprise. Bought this on a whim because I needed steam points and I was so glad that I did.
This game is perfect. Finished it and got all the achievements in just 7 hours (some of it I was afk) and I absolutely love it.
I wasn't really expecting much when I played it because I was only looking for a cheap game to buy and Toem is 80% off but I'm so happy I discovered it and decided to get it because the gameplay, art, music, characters, and overall design made me feel a lot of good things. ♡

Played the demo and then bought the full game, which ported across my progress. Very wholesome and so many things to love. Played half of it with a stupid grin. This game randomly came on my path and so glad it did. The goat(s) ! Amazing !

A cute little game that is overpriced but was very enjoyable and if its on sale it is a must buy. Personally i enjoyed it a lot tho it did get tedious on the ice section going up and down those dam ropes. 10/10 game tho

anytime my only complaint is that it was too short and over too fast, it was a great game. it was cute and sweet, with interesting mechanics of a 3d'd 2d game. worked great on my steam deck.

Very charming game with great variety of puzzles, world building, characters. Loved every second of it, highly recommended for anyone that enjoys chill puzzle games!

TOEM is a super chill game where you wander around taking photos and solving quirky little tasks. The way you shift perspectives to discover hidden details is actually really clever.

It’s the kind of game that’s perfect when you want to slow down, relax, and just enjoy the vibe. Great if you’re looking for something cozy between high-action titles.

Great game with a 2D & 3D style gameplay, fun dialogues that are intresting to read and good challenges that come along with it. Would recommend.

The whole experience feels like a warm hug. The art is very cute, the story is wholesome and fun and the puzzles feel just the right amount of challenging so that it feels rewarding and not frustrating. Its a great cozy puzzle game for anybody who wants to escape the world for a little while <3

As a fellow game dev, I can see how much fun the team had with this game, and how much love was poured into it.
And I am so glad to see that they got enough recognition to make a free Beach Vacation update! (It was a blast btw, probably one of my favorite parts of the game!)
It goes to show how much this game meant to them, and I, for one, cannot wait to see what they do next.

The game has character and is a comfy, enjoyable little story to play through. Great for when you have a few hours to sit back and turn your mind off. Game has 4-5 hours of game play for 100%. IMO an absolute steal for 4 dollars (on sale when bought). I would be hesitant to pay 20 for the full game as 20 bucks for 5 hours of game play is low.

Numerous other reviews have already mentioned qualities like graphics, audio, music, the writing, or how cute TOEM is in general, so instead I'd like to highlight how well designed it is.

Levels are easy to navigate, yet interesting.
Environments feel fresh, because the setting consistently changes before an area overstays it's welcome.
The quests are simple, but the reward is always worth the effort.
Core gameplay is limited in scope, though remains engaging throughout the game's runtime.

This game ticks all the boxes, and is a masterclass on how to properly realise a vision on a limited budget.
TOEM is an excellent game, and well worth your time.

Toem is a short game about photography and exploring different regions and trying to help local folks with their problems. It's a perfect cozy game to play in one sitting/weekend and just relax. Very charming & fun!

Funny story. I found this game through my Spotify music recommendations. When I heard Fisherman's Tune in game for the first time... It solidified what I think about this game. It is an amazing piece of software, embellished by a captivating art style, a living and breathing world with cute characters and, most of all, incredible, relaxing music. I never thought I would enjoy taking photos so much. I loved looking around everywhere through my viewfinder and searching for clues, secrets, or whatever the latest problematic folk needed to solve their existential crisis.

This game is a fun photo taking challenge with a simple but interesting story filled with quests as you explore. It is mostly greyscale but once you are playing you are grabbed by the story and forget that the colour is missing.

I really enjoyed this and will play again some other time

This is a short game that can scratch the completionist itch(You can 100% it within 5-6 hours without much hassle) while having you engaged with its camera mechanics. The characters are cute too.
Handling the game camera is unexpectedly, not infuriating but a delight to use. Ingame camera is also fun to play around with.

If you are not a completionist and the aesthetics of the game don't hook you in then you may get bored in the first hour or so.

TOEM is an adorable and relaxing puzzle game with an additional level unlockable after your first complete run. It will only take you a few hours to complete the entire game, including the after-game level, but every minute is enjoyable. The soundtrack is charming, the graphics are endearing, and the puzzles are well-balanced mix of challenging and intuitive. $20 may be a lot to pay for a short game, so keep an eye on sales if your budget is tight. If you see it for $5 or less, don't hesitate to add it.

An absolute gem. One of my favorite indie games. It was such a joyful and relaxing experience to play through this game, The world is filled to the brim with wholesome moments and quirky creatures and characters. Exploring and completing each zone never felt like a chore, the gameplay loop was enjoyable and fulfilling. The art style both serves to compliment the photography aesthetic as well as the general cuteness/weirdness of the world. For completionists, discovering all the secrets and side content for achievements was actually interesting and didn't stray too far away from the main flow of the game. Not to the mention the stellar soundtrack to accompany you through your photogenic adventure. Truly a labor of love and passion.

It is a photo adventure game, you meet variety of characters and complete their quests that can be completed by mostly taking a photo of something they are looking for, and very few case, you'd have to get something for them. The black and white graphic add charms to the game. There is no time limit in the game so it is very relaxing, but keep you engaged to keep going.

I recommend this if you are looking for a : Cosy game, adventure game, photographing, relaxing and casual game, 6-8 hours game to play, and if you are not bothered with the black and white graphic the entire game.

I really enjoy this, this was recommended to me by many, and I hadn't gotten round to it until now, and now I can understand why the cosy gamers are very excited for TOEM 2, I too, join in with the excitement for TOEM 2!

It's so cozy and wholesome that I could recommend it to just about anyone. Because its not some kind of hand-holding ridiculously easy type of game, the quests are actually engaging and you feel satisfied when you figure out how to solve them. It's not a long game compared to others so it's great for any person's schedule. The artstyle and gameplay feel so unique and charming, I honestly wish the game was even longer than it is because I adore it so much. Experience TOEM!!

A very cute simple game with great characters and a great soundtrack.

91%. Just a great, relaxed, feel-good experience where you go around talking to people for various quirky sidequests where you take photos of things. The game never requires you to take pristine photos, it just wants you to have fun with its mechanics, which I love. The quality of life features are superb too, gotta love when you can choose the music at any time.

Charming like a Sokpop doodle, but wholly fleshed out. Moving your Moomin-shaped character around feels good.
One of the first items you find is a pair of clogs that will make you walk slower, but even that is FUN? Perhaps the best (casual) photography game I've ever played. Utterly delightful.

this was such a sweet game, and it has such unique gameplay. for all my 100% achievement hunters, it was easy and enjoyable to get everything while simply exploring and interacting with the world

This game is perfect, easy to understand what is expected and where to go, the puzzles aren't too difficult while still requiring thought. It was very relaxing. Took me 7 hrs to beat the base game with all of the animal photos and quests done.
