TOEM: A Photo Adventure

Game so good I binged it once I launched it. Unexpected, lovely journey. Get a controller, kick back and relax!

TOEM is a very charming and peaceful photo-taking based puzzle game. like another review said, even getting stuck on puzzles isnt frustrating :) the music and vibe of the game are very calming.

i completed the game in 7 hours and 42 minutes and used a guide to find the 3 or 4 creatures i was missing

the only thing i personally disliked about the game were Arthur's bones in Basto. the textures didnt quite look like they fit in :)

ah, and that i couldnt press the menu button to get back into the game on controller. id have to press b to get out of the menu :) maybe just a keybind issue

I played this game about a year ago. I am writing this review now because I have noticed I think about it every once in a while. Once I complete a game 100% I tend to not think about it and move on. This one however, pops into my brain and makes me wish there was more.

Fun little photo puzzle game. Simple and enjoyable to fully complete.

I love the artstyle of this game for one - it's very cute! And I think all the stories are heart-warming and funny, and some of the photos are actually pretty challenging to complete which I like. I also love that they gave us the free content update which I really appreciate, and I actually got emotional at the end of the game when we finally experienced TOEM.

super funky! I really liked the cuteness, the overall atmosphere, quirky characters and interesting quests. I enjoyed the fun, the jokes, the music. TATO IS A LEGEND!

Such a lovely game! A very unique concept and controls with beautiful and cute art. Challenges and tasks to complete but no combat, no ticking clock, as many tries as you need, and no punishment for not finishing every possible task. Its a truly lovely game, one of my favorites now!

this is like the game "dark souls" except thjat instead of a sword you have a camera

absolutely delightful ,somewhere between the croc , hidden things, life is strange and that bird climbing on a mountain is this , the missions are more like mario oddyssey bonuses and i was absolutely in love for the three days it took me to complete. silly little voices, sounddesign is perfect, images, character design execution , artwork , gameplay and ui . everything is perfect. keeping it small pays off. i had a lovely viking holiday because who could forget this felt scandinavian modest but powerful . there are definitely elements of moomin charm in there. absolutely loved it 9,99 out of 10 because the dance dance revolution was pretty impossible ;)

Lately, I find myself enjoying games that challenge the player. I find it satisfying to learn a system until I master it. 'TOEM: A Photo Adventure' is not that, yet it kept me engrossed throughout its entire runtime.

TOEM features a charming adventure where you take photos and do community service as you travel across the land. This is a game that is short, silly, and cozy. The controls and premise are simple enough for anyone to pick up and enjoy. Each character interaction I had on this adventure put a smile on my face. Rather than trying to find the best way to do everything as quickly as I could, TOEM got me to stop and smell the roses (then take a picture). This is a game that knows what it is, and proudly displays it throughout its runtime.

In short, this is a cozy game that is enjoyable for all ages!

Fun side quest game, super straight forward and the characters are cute. Love the use of the photos in the credits, it's like what Firewatch does but I wasn't taking photos in Firewatch. Loved the music too, very cozy.

Maybe wait for a sale, $20 USD is steep for this game, I finished in 5 hours including Basto. Remember to take a break!

Although I'm not finished with this game yet, I must say, the atmosphere of it is just wonderful. Really relaxing with enjoyable characters to talk to while discovering all the game has to offer.

Lovely game about photography and helping out other people. I loved the art style for this, the 2D characters in a 3D world might remind a lot of players of Paper Mario, but overall it's genuinely such a clever idea with a heartwarming storyline to wrap it all up - that it becomes it's own entity entirely. May TOEM inspire other game dev's in the future to make an interactive and brilliant world such as this one.

Great puzzle adventure game about helping others by taking photos. My 9yr old and I love to play this together.

Well this is just a delightful game, in the spirit of games like A Short Hike. Small but very exploreable open world, charming characters, basic but sometimes creative puzzles, light commentary on life.

The game is unique and super fun. It has a calming effect while taking photos, and it's such a therapeutic experience.

Pretty sweet and wholesome game, good vibes all around. Only bad thing I can say is that gyro did not work with my switch pro controller ;(

Amazing game that is similar in vibes to A Short Hike. I had a wonderful experience. I hope they make a sequel.

I absolutely loved this game. I wanted something with lots of exploration, collectables, nice music and aesthetics and that's exactly what this is (and more). Very chilled, pleasant, lots to do, see and fulfil - highly recommend :)

Cute, quirky game! Fun little puzzles and characters. The end felt so special! I loved the little island expansion too, the tide was a neat concept.

TOEM is a game that does an incredible job at keeping the player immersed. Not only with it's unique design, but how the controller vibrates to the player's input and direction. switching to the camera has an immediate snap to it. While the game mostly consists of fun and generous side quests you're hardly ever bogged down by any kind of endless dialogue or slow cutscene animations. It is a fully paced experience left to your leisure on how you choose to experience or complete it. TOEM is a game with satisfying gameplay and despite being labeled as cozy it will keep you fully engaged with it's tight controls and ambiance. You can feel the labor of love poured in as you play

TOEM was so much fun! I played it on my Steam Deck and it ran beautifully, the controls were easy and intuitive, and it wasn't hard on the battery. It is very obvious that this game was a labor of love with the designs, music, and especially all the extra content added in at the end. This was 100% worth my time and the price. <3

totally recommended, it´s 10 out of 10 for me. The music is cute and nice to listen to, the graphics cute too. I liked the puzzle concept although I didn't complete some of the tasks... overall a very unique and unexpected game full of interesting quests and funny characters.

A delightful exploration game in an nontraditional format. TOEM is a delightful experience and was a delightful break between other more hectic management, strategy and factory games. I really enjoyed this title and would recommend for anyone who needs just something a little different and chill.

8/10. A cozy game for those of us who like to collect things. Although the quests in Basto are quite tedious and I got tired of it after a while.

Super cute cozy game. Loveable characters and amazing illustration and animation. Played through in one sitting in 6 1/2 h but looked up some tipps when I was stuck. Definitley recommend!

Very charming and so much fun to play. I used a controller with it per their recommendation and it was great.

To be honest, it's nothing special. It's a okay idea at best, but nothing memorable. It gets the indie game love like every indie game.

No story worth mentioning, the sound design is mostly annoying, the gameplay is okay and some solutions are just stupid.

The puzzle design is mostly finding stuff.
"Hey do a photograph of me and a burger" -> you do that -> *mission accomplished*
"Hey show me a photograph of a frog" -> you search frog, you find frog, you photo frog -> *mission accomplished*

Play it, but dont expect a creative experience like Undertale or A Short Hike.
