Adorable simple game that's great for de-stressing and just relaxation in general. While simple in it's premise and execution, it hides a cute wordless story for those paying attention, which recounts the life changes and experiences of a woman through the course of her life. Short and sweet, with clean design and intuitive controls. Because of it's simplicity and how short it is, I'd recommend waiting until it's on sale to pick it up, but it's still worth it overall!
Its a lovely little game that offers a deeper narrative than at first glance. Have played it countless times.
Super cute, relaxing game that tickled my need to organise things. There were sweet stories to uncover as I sat each new item in it's proper place. If you get a happy feeling when you organise things, this game is for you. I actually played it while I was moving house, and it helped me get motivated to unpack my belongings IRL haha.
An absolutely adorable game which you unpack a life and watch them grow through a decade. You become invested in who they are as you see all the stuff they have and how it grows and where they are moving to. It was an enjoyable game. Not too long either.
extremely cute little game that shows how physical spaces reflect personality and cultural values. super relaxing and very satisfying gameplay
I've replayed Unpacking so many times... It's truly a comfort game, in a way that very few others are to me.
It's shorter than I would like, but that's partly just because it's truly so much fun to play! The cozy, nostalgic art, mixed with the simple, but satisfying gameplay, is well worth the time to play!
It also managed to hit me right in the heart the first time around. I wasn't expecting that, but I'm so glad I went in blind for it. :)
The only thing that would make this game better, in my opinion, is if you gave me even more levels lol I need 50 more games like this!
Most relaxing game I've ever played. The day I bought it I was so excited I opened it as soon as it finished installing, and fell in love with it instantly, playing it multiple times all the way through. The sound design is gorgeous, the art is gorgeous, the story is gorgeous. This is a beautiful, calming, amazing game. I highly recommend.
11/10
This game is a nice and easy-going escape from reality. Sometimes the unpacking and organizing aspect of the game is just the thing I need to unpack and organize the chaos in my mind and just take a much needed break.
Relax and unpack those boxes. Surprisingly deep for what it does, with a lot to discover. Not too long, but invites for a replay.
This game only took 8hrs to complete, but it is the most adorable and moving game that I have played in a while. (:
Objectively, 20 dollars is not worth the small amount of content. HOWEVER, I have played through this game twice and loved it both times. It's sweet, cozy. and a perfect game for when you just want to turn your brain off and unpack, decompress if you will. I just wish it had more storylines or stages to play through because it truly is one of my favorite cozy games.
This game is so cozy and has a very appealing storyline as you follow the life of the character it's based around. I've replayed multiple times and would still play it again!
I really enjoy playing this game. It's got a nice, cozy feel and you can relax during gameplay. I like the plot of the MC moving and as the audience, we learn more about them. I will critique however that I think there should be more stuff added. Like have different chapters of other people to really get an insight of how the moving process affects everyone. Besides that, I love the design, gameplay, and progession. 12/10
A really fun cozy game, I picked it up on sale and with in two hours I had it completed with all achievements. I'm hoping there will be more games like this in the future. There's not really much replayability so I'd wait for a sale before picking it up.
Unpacking" is a wonderfully relaxing and beautifully crafted game that blends storytelling with the simple, satisfying task of organizing a life through boxes.
The game’s gorgeous aesthetics and gentle gameplay create a serene atmosphere, making each level feel like a cozy, intimate journey. As you unpack items and arrange them in different settings, subtle, emotional moments emerge, telling a heartfelt story without a single line of dialogue.
It's easy to become attached to the main character's life, making the experience both nostalgic and unexpectedly moving. My only wish is that it lasted longer, as I found myself wanting to stay in this world a little while more.
The game was fun, but it was short. I wish it had more levels.
A cute and chill game. The game tells a story about someone's life through their room.
100% - 4.7 hrs
Achievements - 25
Review - 8/10 - Never thought unpacking would be this fun
Difficulty - 2/10
Hardest Achievement - Brew Some Coffee
Really cute game, good gameplay rhythm. Scratched an itch in the best way.
I can never truly get enough of this adorable game, and I keep coming back to do the story over and over again.
The organization and details everywhere captivates me every time and the underlying story is so fun to follow.
I love the way you can organize things however you feel like it, and it's so relaxing to do when I've got so many other things to keep my mind on.
I'm really hoping for more of this in the future.
Love this game 10/10
great game for passing the time and I love the small story-telling details hidden in objects you bring/leave as you move
This game was super cute and relaxing. I really thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay. That being said, the game was disappointingly short and, in my opinion, definitely not worth 20 dollars. If I would have known I'd have waited for a sale. I hope they add more to this game in the future given the price.
Very fun, super chill, just an all round good game for unwinding after a stressful day,
I enjoyed the game enough and it was relaxing while telling a sweet story; but I was extremely disappointed by the playtime. I have 4.6 hours of play time so far, but I have completely beat the game. I was only actively playing for about 2.5 to 3 hours, so 4.6 is completely inaccurate. I paid full price ($20) and there are so many better "cozy" games with 100x the amount of game play time. I did attempt to request a refund, but was quickly denied as I had played for more than 2 hours. I had no way of knowing how short the game was, as there isn't any progress tracking that shows how many more levels are left. Don't waste $20 on this game; at least wait for it to drop down to $10 or less.
I love this game. It's relaxing and does a great job of telling a sweet story about growing up using only the environment. The levels have different challenges that match the life stage they represent--when the character is moving in with roommates, a lot of space is taken up by the roommates' belongings that you can't move. When she moves in with a boyfriend, his belongings have to be rearranged to make space. It also does a great job of setting the time period each level takes place in and showing the passage of time through things like subtle pop cultural references, different types of technology, and some items showing up in multiple levels with increasing wear and tear. As someone in my mid-30s, who is probably around the same age as the character this game follows, the technological and cultural elements of each level were very relatable!
While there is something of a puzzle element to this game (you have to find places for the items you unpack and you're not allowed to place items in spots that aren't logical, like putting clothes in the kitchen), most of the gameplay is organizing items to your liking, which gives the game some re-playability value. There is also enough detail to make replaying levels fun. I still enjoy going back to this game occasionally when I'm in the mood for something relaxing.
That said, I do think the current price is probably a little high for the amount of content and replay value.
A nice cozy game that's also somehow stimulating and fun. The storyline is easy to follow, and the game is intuitive. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a more chill game.
a calming yet touching story if you focus on the details just enough, an afternoon well spent
Would recommend listening to your favorite playlist if while you're playing. It's super relaxing and I love playing this game!<3
I resisted trying this game for way too long. The first play through is so charming and nostalgic as we learn the protagonists life story through their residences and belongings. Beyond that, it is a similarly relaxing and satisfying experience to puzzling.
charming and delightful! this game is a master class on storytelling by implication. there's also a surprising amount of replay value, because there are hundreds of tiny details that you might not notice on the first pass.
This game is so sweetly cozy. It is the perfect game to play when you really need to relax and not think too much. As an autistic woman, I've found this game really helpful when I'm feeling overstimulated. It really calms my nerves and helps me refocus. I love that it also has a little bit of a story to go along with the simple fun of unpacking and decorating. I am really enjoying unwinding with each box I unpack, rediscovering old memories and uncovering new experiences with every room. If you're looking for something lovely and low key to relax with, I absolutely recommend this.
started very relaxing quickly destroyed me and then became the greatest growing up story of all i almost cried
god i love this game so much i actually replayed it four times
This game is so satisfying and genius! Not only recommended for anyone who likes to organize things, but the story you uncover in small bits just by looking through the belongings of the protagonist is really interesting and amazing. You start to feel a connection to this person just based on their environments and their stuff as it travels with them along their life journey.
I've completed this game a few times now including Dark Star (Floor is Lava version), and I can truly say I would gladly play the same game with new characters over and over and over again if more were ever released.
20 out of 10, 100% recommend!
I love unpacking and how many achievements you can get, it just makes the game so much funner. As well as the story line is great too!
That was a very cute, adorable little game. Very relaxing, easy, tells a story without saying a word.... Amazing music. Simple.
But to be honest - I finished it in around 2,5h. No hurry. Left it open in the background for cards.
There's not much re-playability here. Yeah, you could play it again. But I already placed everything after careful thinking the first time and I don't think i could change it that much the second time I play. I don't think it's worth the price it's listed at. Buy only at high discount.
This game made me cry twice, its so nice.
its not to long so the price is a bit high. but getting it on sale is a great choice
its cute and relaxing, the little windows into this girls life is adorable and sweet.
i pray one day we get a way to make our own levels. cause i think if this game had a steam workshop it would easily be worth $30-$40.
Really good, surprisingly not that repetitive, and the storyline is also great with its subtlety, I love things that "show" not tell.
This game is so fun and cozy! I really hope they come out with a DLC or a second one with a new story. It was super fun to unpack each room in each level and learn a little more about the character each time. I wish I could play this game for the first time all over again!
An incredibly charming and relaxing experience! The story was also a very nice touch so an already wonderful game! The pixel art is lovely and I always think back to this game now when I move myself.
This is one of the best cosy/casual games! The storytelling was extraordinary (f you whoever that guy is!!) and the ending is absolutely beautiful. That said though - I didn't find myself playing it more than once, hoping the creators make another story of some sort to update this game for those of us who did enjoy it.
You can see from my playtime I have played this enough to tell you that I really enjoyed this game.
It is not a long game, it will only take a small handful of hours to finish. But there is just something so satisfying about this game I just keep coming back for more. Great fun and simple gameplay, nice and relaxing to play and can also be great great to accompany a youtube video playing alongside it, or something along those lines.
The little storytelling tidbits with the items you unpack are actually really wholesome too - there's a lot more to this game than meets the eye.
I reccomend getting this game if it is on sale just because of the length - wishlist and buy <3
I'm not finished with the game yet but I've really enjoyed it so far. Not only do you get to unpack unique + cute items and organise, but you get to follow along with the growth and life of the person you are unpacking for. It really is interesting how much you can learn about a "person" just through their possessions and comments on pictures you take.
Super cozy, comfy game. Great for when you just want to watch something and play a little game. Play time can be a little short is it's the only thing you're doing, but the multiple save slots allow you to get in multiple sessions.
This game is so fun, and my play time on this is 44 hours. Highly recommended game from me!
One issue I had is that I couldn't place some objects in obvious spots... and having to find a new spot which isn't always as evident.
Still, for the most part it actually is a pretty soothing, satisfying game. It made me feel productive despite that feeling of productivity coming from playing a video game of all things.
I absolutely love this game, i always play it when i want to relax after a tough day.. Even though its furiating sometimes when things cant be placed where you want to place it. but that feeling doesnt last all..
Overall, I do advise you to play this game for a cozy puzzle game
A very relaxing game when you just need something to unwind. Super easy and quick, the story is cute, and it is fun to replay. I highly recommend if you love those cozy comfy games that you can curl up in a sweater and drink hot cocoa <3
Basically as you unpack someone's belongings you also unpack their life. Its a cute and calming game that you can finish in approximately 5 hours. if you are looking for a cozy game 10/10 recommend.
very cute surprisingly very captivating game where you unpack boxes full of your stuff. it is a simple yet effective method of storytelling, with tidbits of text and context clues letting you piece together the story. i enjoyed this one a lot, 9/10.
It is a very nice and relaxing game to play and just chill to. The music and sound effects I think make this game so enjoyable and the little hidden achievements are so fun to get! Definitely recommend this game to anyone.
