Not great on steam deck... pretty unintuitive and not changed at all from mouse mode. dont buy if you prefer controller
makes game play slow and laborious
it also feels like this game has really weird leveling/progression. not super clear what youre meant to be doing and quest info is limited. but then the dialogue goes on forever... and its very meme heavy...
art is nice tho
Very cute! Lovely story, a little heartbreaking at times, compelling. Some glitches that don't interfere with gameplay. Challenging quests towards the end in terms of the bed and breakfast aspects. I wish there had been slightly better guidance on where to go when certain story quests end, but Reddit was my best friend for figuring out where to find things. A bit short for my liking, but worth it nonetheless.
Constant quests to help game play move along. Love the decorating aspects (very similar to two point campus - which I loved). Art style is so cute.
While I find the main storyline somewhat lacking, these really are the coziest of vibes. The art direction is adorable, the characters are all wonderful, and the mechanics are smooth and easily understood. I just wish there was more!
It's such a cute story where you ( a bear ) and 2 of your roommates ( a wolf and a tiny bird) are at first helping your mother out with fixing a grave site . Your mother told you to go some where you haven't been to in a while. While going there, you all hear a car. Your friends want to see what's happening but, you promised your mom not to go far away from the house.
Everything else about the game, you'll have to see for yourself :)
Nothing but love for the studio making this game, I had a joyous time and will be eagerly awaiting any updates to this game, as well as any new games they have in store for the future.
Absolutely adorable game. I kind of powered through it since I've seen a lot of the game play and know the story but it is definitely something you can sink hours into if you would like. It gorgeous and has pretty easy mechanics when you get used to them.
Love the story as well as the characters and their unique personalities.
Definitely recommend!
always a good sign when a game pings a server in the UAE on startup.
(use glasswire if you dont believe me)
I love the art style, the dialogue, the upgrading various places - I just love all of it! Super cute and cozy game, it's definitely worth buying.
This game is very fun and amusing. I got this because I was extremely bored and none of my friends were active on Discord. This was the PERFECT pass-time! I am actually obsessed with this game right now! The quests and need for materials (to build/decorate) keep you busy so there is always something to do. The story part of the game is interesting as well. It is 100% worth your money and your time!
Click through dialogue, go here, do that, before I let you do that go fetch this for me. That's all this game is. 4/10
very fun very cozy, easy gameplay nothing stressful or overwhelming
It's boring to start. Lots of clicking through dialogue. The game appears small scoped at the beginning but there is actually a decent amount of stuff to do.
Cute illustration and scenery. I'm in the beginning stages of the game, but it's great so far! I love the little decorations for the rooms.
I came into this game expecting the name to be an accurate summary of the gameplay. The "Bear" part of the name was extraordinarily accurate, in fact being not only the first thing you experience, but also always being a part of the experience. This part was incredibly entertaining, fun, and immersive. However, the "breakfast" part is slightly misleading. After 6.5 hours of playing the game, I was still left with no breakfast. So, while the "Bear" part of the game was a 10/10, with an excellent art style and fun gameplay, the lack of breakfast brought it down to a 5. HOWEVER, this feeling would not last, as 6 hours and 37 minutes into "Bear" as I began to call it, I finally achieved it. I finally discovered "Breakfast". This game would be a 10/10 if it delivered on its promise of "Breakfast" sooner than 6.5 hours into the game, however, despite all the other praises I have given it, it does deduct a few points from the overall review. From an objective, "Bear and Breakfast" receives a 9/10 (100% for the "Bear", but only 80% on the "Breakfast" front).
the management and building aspects of this are very light, and it is a somewhat linear story based game that feels simple and restrictive compared to other building and management games that i like which are more sandbox and focus more on building and management. the quests and the characters are the game. its not a bad game, just not the game i was expecting. if you like games like rimworld, oxygen not included, tycoon games, and city builders, just know this is not as deep as that. it's more like a cute game with casual building and basic management aspects. im sure i havent uncovered all the interesting things, but i dont enjoy following the quests/the gameplay loop so i wont be continuing. wish i could give it a sideways thumb, its not an objectively bad game. i think more casual players who like quests to guide them or children would like it and recommend it only to them. the bear is very cute and funny.
I enjoyed the variety of npcs and the text/snarkiness of the characters :)
This is a wonderful game. I really can't get enough of it. Its not perfect, but a big part of that has to do with your controller scheme. You need to play this game with a keyboard and mouse. I played it with the Xbox controller and occasionally mouse use on Steam deck and it was 95% fine, however, as soon as you use your mouse, the construction keys only work for the keyboard. This mean there was no way at all I could rotate a door or window in construction mode without plugging in a keyboard which greatly hampered my ability to design my hotels. I have ready on the Switch its almost unplayable due to the controls too. Don't they the creepy tutorial intro turn you off either. This game is about as cozy as it gets. Its got funny humor, a plot that slowly moves forward and rewarding and exciting gameplay mechanics. The only thing I didnt like was the farming and cooking. Like most cozy gamers I'm just tired of farm simulation. But the good thing is you can hire an NPC to cook for you and there is no watering or planting stuff nonsense, just pick up ingredients. The monotonous parts of the game management system eventually get farmed out to NPCs so you can just enjoy the good parts. Knowing that going in will help you if it feels a bit grindy, but to me it wasnt that grindy at all. Definitely worth playing on a nice fall day.
cute af, straight forward cozy game with adorable details. I love being a bear.
Nice and super cozy, I played it twice and had the same delightful experience. For the fans of Stardew Valley searching for another jewel - you found it.
I got super addicted to this game as soon as I bought it. The management is really fun and you get a real sense of growth and accomplishment in game which is something I really value. There's lots to build and unlock and interesting characters to meet. Very much recommend if you like cozy management games.
Fun little cozy game! Perfect if you like resource management games.
Do not buy this game if you use a controller!
Even after spending 20 minutes to bind all the controller buttons it still doesn't work at all.
I cannot even start a game, that's how badly it doesn't work.
I wish I could refund the game, but sadly I can't :(
Cozy mgmt game that provides progressive challenges. The character story lines are funny and definitely one of my favorite parts of the game. Definitely re-playable and I will play it again in the future. Only note I have- I do wish that you could use some area specific items in other areas to help boost the rep of larger/more complex sites.
Very fun, dialogue and character interactions are funny. No annoying time gating and cute game design.
A "cozy game" with its heart in the right place, but a lot of problems in the meantime.
I found myself walking behind wall decorations, getting stuck in random corners, being unable to see what I'm stuck on in other places and more. What is a "level 2 bedroom" and how do you get one? Apparently its not "fill the room with high decor and comfort items", as that's the only thing you CAN do.
Also, the room rating system runs into a problem with entrensic value (sp). If lamp A is worth 1 point and lamp B is worth 4, I would NEVER have a reason to use lamp A ever again. But what if I like how lamp A looks more? With the high and demanding numbers that some customers wanted, I had to JAM rooms full of junk and cover the floors with tons of little rugs making tacky, crowded spaces trying to please them. They were no longer the rooms I wanted to make.
This is an "OK" game that you can get for free on the Epic Game store, I'm sorry I spent money on it. It was fun for a few sit downs but I just hit road block after road block and had to ask on the forums over and over about things that really should have been intuitive to do. Cozy games by their very nature should be easy and stress free and self explanitory, and Bear and Breakfast just isn't.
It's cool but it's too many bugs
I was looking forward to this game forever before its release and I'm disappointed.
Loved this game so much! Every time I thought it was over there was more to play which was exciting, love Hank and the story. Get this game you won't be disappointed!
Cozy nice, its pretty addicting to manage all the places and the characters are lovable
I absolutely love this game and the humour within the dialogue. It really hits that cozy game spot for me; however, I do feel that there are a few story progression issues where you receive quests that you cannot complete because you haven't even unlocked a certain level or mechanism within the game yet, so you're just kinda running around wondering how you're supposed to complete it. I've had to google multiple times only to realize each time that I just cannot complete the quest just yet. The game gets a little overwhelming late game as the cost to complete the quests become a little too much compared to what you're making. These issues aside, I still spend hours on end playing and enjoy it a lot!
DLC or added base game content please!!!!
A lovely chill wee Tycoon-esque game. Repairing and renovating picturesque woodland cabins as Hank. The developers have taken the time to lovingly capture the joy of rural living. And, it's got a wee bus to help you travel around too! *5*
Very cute, decently relaxing, and enough variety to keep you interested if you're into this sort of game. My only complaint is that the building mechanism is really difficult as your buildings get larger. For the love of everything fuzzy and adorable, let me zoom where I want to zoom rather than on a fixed center.
The art style is very cute! And that's about the only good thing I have to say about it. The charm wears off very quickly and you're left with gameplay that gets more tedious with each new feature. The maps are big and unpopulated, making resource gathering slow and boring. When you're not dealing with either of those, you're just waiting for time to pass. The one-note characters seem important and then disappear from the plot entirely. The story is predictable, leaves no impressions and then ends with so little fanfare that you're left wondering if that's it. Which is unsatisfying, but I'm glad it actually is over.
I played using a controller, which was pretty clunky and I occasionally got a glitch where I couldn't interact with anything upon opening build mode. Closing and re-opening the game resolved this, so it's a good thing you can save at any time. That's all.
Its a nice relaxed busy work game. The story is also quite good. There are some long standing bugs that never got resolved. Not game breaking but annoying. The achievements are quite dull as they only represent your progress in game.
The controller support is not really there, besides for moving around. In general the UI needs some optimization, often its needlessly complex. You cannot place better parts over the older ones instead you have to pick all the stuff up you want to upgrade and then place the new once. If you move certain thinks like to cooking station, you lose all the meals you have configured.
Finished it with all achievements out of spite but I can't recommend it. The game feels like there was a moment in development when all spirit and will was lost and it was 'shaped into somewhat-shippable thing' and sent off.
There's way too many 'speedbumps' for it to be fun. Significant lack of quality-of-life UI elements. Multiple-step quest that require you to report back to quest giver with every miniscule thing accomplished. I just skipped past all the lore in the end because i had no patience.
in the middle of some very grand quest i had to go back to cook something for a quest (which was a repeated annoyance). Go to kitchen (zone change), look up recipe, go pick up ingredients from the chest or go to the shop (zone change), go back to kitchen (zone change), cook, go back to quest giver (zone change).
Simple act of moving about the levels was annoying because collision boxes on terrain are visually barely indicated.
I spent 1/3 to 1/2 game waiting and just assigning guests to rooms or waiting for resources to spawn in the same exact locations.
But the art is very nice.
cozy
lovely management game, you get to play as a bear 🐻
i wouldn't say it's very cozy, it's more grinding than cozy 😭 but i don't hate it
there are some bugs in the current game. for instance, going upstairs/downstairs, i usually get stuck and i have to reset my position. good thing the devs provide a button to reset our position. once i encountered a customer with only his head, and body gone 😂 controls are a bit wonky but still acceptable, you just have to get used to it. i love their decorations and furniture, there is a lot to look at and to purchase
i do recommend this game, i think it's better to buy it on sale instead of paying the full price. abit not worth it but if you got money then you do you
Cozy game with lots of love. The controls are a bit cluncy, but it's really fun!
Better than Animal Crossing.
This is a lovely, cozy game to sink in to. The characters are well developed, Hank is precious beyond words, the story has interesting twists and turns, and the hotel design/management features really worked for me. I particularly appreciated that it builds on itself in a steady and manageable rate, so I never felt too overwhelmed or lost at any point. Can't wait for the update but I'll be playing this on repeat until it comes (I also own it on Switch!).
Bear-y fun! I don't like to reduce games to the "cozy" label, but Bear and Breakfast fits the bill! Tycoon style and cute forest (fursona-esc) animals, fun play style. Dialogue heavy, I wish the skip button wasn't just for cutscenes; The quest tracker menu makes them not mandatory yet I still have to sit there and spam my space bar if I accidentally re-speak to someone. Some bugs, camera doesn't follow me sometimes when I get out of the editing mode and I wish that there was a run mode. Overall I'm really enjoying the game so far!
Very fun! HIGHLY recommend for cozy game enjoyers! Cute graphics, fun characters, and amazing story! 10/10, absolutely would play again(and will probably start a new save soon)!!
One of the few games I have completion in, it's so fun and relaxing, highly recommend.
This is so cute, and the humor is amazing and was making me laugh so much. Highly recommend
It is a very cozy game with a good build up over time. The story has been well thought out, and the music is enjoyable. I look forward to playing more and seeing how far I can progress.
Affirming bear noises
A delightful little game about managing multiple bed and breakfasts. The gameplay loop isn't super difficult, but I had fun and it was a lovely cozy game to play while watching something else in the background.
Planning out your hotels is the most stressful part of this cozy game. Well that and the shark, IFKYK.
