this game is good but if you have win 11 dont buy it cuz there are lots of problems thats why i got windows 10 this game is still popular in these days
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
this game is not a real game it is instead a pirated copy that is still being sold on the steam store. in the first scene of the game you need to wait for an enemy to pass through a gate and then you kill them, but in this version the game is stuck and will not open not allowing you to progress. or in my case after you kill that enemy the game crashes. which is a shame because this is a really good game and i would recommend it other wise so if you want to play it i would advise you to just play the console versions. sure you could search the internet for a patch to crack the game but no one wants to do that you should just be able to buy a game and not have to relay on fan mods to buy a game you paid for.
Game literally doesn't work without modding
I have two hours on this game and have not even got past the first enemy it is a shitty buggy mess i downloaded a fixer mod but that just made the game not start im stuck
badass game thats perfect for the depraved, desolate, hopeless, dreadful, menacing, bleak, cold, emotionless type of people.
Great game, sucks that rockstar won't patch a game ending bug and you have to do it yourself, but all in all great game, holds up very well, quite difficult especially that damn train level.
after you get it to actually run and work, its alot of fun
I humbly apologize for pirating your game by purchasing it from the steam store. I've learned my lesson.
Anyway it took just under a minute to patch but it's a shame this is even an issue considering how big R* is, this is just shameful. I'm sure all of the legitimate buyers have been punished accordingly, but for real shame on you for treating your games like this.
ABSOLUTE GEM!!!!!!!!!!!!
whoever designed the controls should be put in a real life valiant video enterprises movie me thinks though.... took me forever to beat
The PC version is BROKEN, you can't even get past the first stage because apparently there's a well known glitch where swinging fences are broken and two minutes into it guess what you have to walk past... a FREAKING physics based gate.
i can't even play the game on pc even though i did everystep it crashes everytime i go to pick up the painkillers on the first mission guess i bought it on pc for no reason :(
Cant even get 10 minutes in without crashing... sigh only of a triple A company actually cared about their games
like it looks good and i want to play it but i cant because the Ai in this game sucks SO BAD that they take 50 minutes turning around a corner and i know this was likely a problem when the game 1st came out but this is no excuse because half life 1 had really good ai systems when it came out it 1998 but it just is so painful to watch them get stuck behind a tiny corner of a bench.
I had to seach github page's for a manhunt patch... i should be able to play with no modifications
no.
i played this on my wii and its fun and has terrible graphics.
On a PC you get to see it in its full awfulness.
The fact that Rockstar is selling a pirated copy of their own game that won't play by default is kind of sad and also funny. The patch installation takes only a minute and then the game will give you no issues and plays perfect with very few glitches. This is a difficult, frustrating game that starts out seeming overly simplistic but has nuance to the game play that requires many hours to truly master.
The plot of the game in itself is kind of brilliant, as it's about a murderer on death row who is set free only to be forced to be part of a snuff film for a wealthy executive. The game takes place in Carcer City, which is the city near Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto, so it's fair to say that this is GTA game to some extent, even though you don't use any vehicles except a crane at one point. It's overall very well designed and feels kind of like a horror game just because the premise is so disturbing. Whenever the game play starts to get repetitive the scenery and objectives change enough to make it feel different. The whole game takes place across a single night and a lot of the sequences are "one hit kill" scenarios that will force you to restart over and over until you figure out the enemy placements.
Normally in a game like this the "glory kills" get repetitive as they're fixed cutscenes, but in this game they're so brutal and disturbing that I still felt myself wincing many hours after playing. You're supposed to hide in the shadows and pick off targets for most of the game. The stealth is easy but the combat is difficult. There is a cover system that you are supposed to use but it occasionally gets buggy. There's a lot of nuance to this as you have to use the weapon you have to your advantage. If you have a shotgun you want to lure the enemy into close range and pop out and shoot. If the enemy has a double barrel shotgun, you can dodge to get them to force to reload and move into their cover and take them out. Certain weapons like the uzi and AR are instakill so you must use stealth to evade them. It's really well designed and while the graphics aren't great they have that "early 2000s" game charm that makes it really feel like you're playing an old GTA game. In fact, this whole game feels like one of the side chain missions you'd pick up in Grand Theft Auto. The only thing I wish the game did differently was provide the player with some kind of explosive weapon. You often have a whole room of enemies clustered together and it would be really satisfying to throw a grenade in or plant C4, but you can't do that. Once you beat the game there's actually many more hours of potential game play if you want to get five stars in each mission.
To do this you have to get a certain number of grotesque kills (Stalk the enemy until the reticle turns red) and beat the level in a certain amount of time. It's suprisingly hard and took me about 15 hours to actually complete because some of the requirements are ridiculous and you have to manage speed in a game that requires stealth. There are no achievements, as this was just a lazy cash grab by Rockstar to put this on Steam without any effort, but the core game is so much fun I stopped caring about the poor method it was put on Steam and just focused on enjoying a great game that holds up very well 20 years after its release.
fix the goddamn game, Rockstar. it does not work without backdoor fixes. Just google "manhunt fixer" and follow the directions to install. this game should NOT be sold for money.
it's a great game, IF YOU FIX IT YOURSELF
crashes on the tutorial + it's really overglazed. it's not THAT good
really good game i say but there are lots of bugs like in the scene "born again" but if you install patches it will be just fine 10/10
If you bought this game on Steam, you've successfully downloaded a pirated copy of Rockstar's Manhunt.
If you bought this game on steam and try to play it, it will never launch. If you do get it to somehow launch, you will get hit by Rockstar's anti-piracy measures preventing you from progressing past 5 minutes. You are playing a pirated copy after all. Maybe next time do not download a pirated game from Steam. hope you learned your lesson.
Ironically, this happens because Rockstar attempted to "fix" the .exe when Windows Vista+ came out due to the old one not being able to launch.
Ok, so what you have to do to actually play this mess is download Ermaccer's ManhuntFixer and extract it. You then open the fixer and point it to your Manhunt Steam library (Theres an automated button for this in the program) and click "Patch". You've now fixed Manhunt on Steam and can finally play Razor's cracked version of it without any issues.
After installing the patch, I was able to play through the game without a single crash or any issues. The game does get very difficult near the end but having some extra precision with the mouse aiming helped just a little bit instead of having to press X to shoot like in the PS2 version. If you actually are a fan of Manhunt and can get this for $3.50 I'd say go ahead and grab it as long as you know how to use File Explorer to patch it.
Due to this being a pirated version of the game and the anti piracy breaking the game do not buy this and look into the anti piracy yourself i feel robbed since i cant refund this since i bought this years and years ago even if it is just 10 dollars i would like my money back or a actual playable game
I also know you can mod it but that should'nt be the case dont sell pirated copies of your own game
This PC Port is terrible and uses a pirated copy of the game that requires a fan made patch to install to fix the issue relating to the gate not opening in scene 1 (Born again) . I recommend getting Manhunt(2003) on PS4 or Original Xbox (Retail or via Xbox Store via Xbox Series X/S) or PS2.
"You are a prey in a deadly game" of cat-and-mouse. The hunters are OUT TO GET YOU by any means necessary but what happens when the prey becomes the predator? I love this game. Even if the graphics feel dated and the shooting is not the best thing in the world, Manhunt is not an experience for the faint-hearted. As you hack, slash and strangle your way to freedom from a demented "director", Rockstar puts heavy emphasis on the dark and hopeless atmosphere of Carcer city and its inhabitants. The violence shown in Manhunt may not be on the level of its successor ( i feel that in MH2 Rockstar decided to tune it up for shock value), but the phenomenal sound design makes up for it, capturing to the fullest extent the horror and gore of the executions. Even if the protagonist isn't very talkative (not like a strong and silent type, more like sneaky and desperate to stay alive type), the director talking into his earpiece makes up for it with sadistic quips and really "enthusiastic" reactions to the brutality of said executions. I also like the fact that the enemies are a colorful bunch: from hoodlums to ex-military, deranged madmen and creepy satanists, all for you to butcher like cattle. Taking all of this into account, Rockstar created a unique experience that i wholeheartedly recommend to those who like both stealth and horror games. Lights off, headphones and a slow pace for max immersion.
Really good game, Idk what are people on about. I fixed the bug in 5 minutes. Overall very nice game and I have never seen anything like this. May play the 2nd part.
One of, if not the best psychological horror game of all time. You play as Cash, this ex-convict and this retired porn director tells you to kill people for him. In other words you're making a snuff film for this dude who absolutely wacks off to the kills and the amount of style you can get. It has a very uncomfortable atmosphere and while you're hunting gangs, killing them off one by one, they're also hunting you. It's a memorable experience, and it's definitely not for everyone. Without the patch everyone demands from Rockstar, it's very unplayable, but you can easily apply a one download patch that will help with everything in the unforeseeable future of Manhunt. Also Brian Cox voice acts the director who was the original Hannibal Lector in the film , "Manhunt" 1986.
The title has a bad reputation for triggering Anti-Piracy measures made by
Rockstar on legitimately bought copies.
I bought this game in July 2024 and later found out that the (official)copy that I
got was riddled with enabled Anti-Piracy measures. Same thing is going on with
Max Payne 2.
Without the fixes you can't even complete the tutorial.
Check the wiki below for fixes.

"Manhunt Fixer" is the simplest thing to fix all the broken stuff.
Game crashed on the first level I sadly refunded it , hopefully Rockstar can fix this
So I launched it today for the first time. Got stuck on the tutorial, five minutes in, this issue happened twice before I realized what was up.. Completely broken game. You'll notice when you have to hide in the shadows for the first time and are told a guy will come and face away from you. Surprise, he will never come, just stand there, lacking the code to get in cue from rockstar. Okay, so just whack him and go on? Right. I tried that, lured him through the fence, finished him and went through the fence. Game crashes. Happened twice, both complete crashes means the game is hard locked and still sold.
This game support all windows operating systems, vista, 7, 8, 10 and 11, the store page is incorrect. You need net 3.5 and some other libraries available on the github page which anyone can find by googling "manhunt patch" or "manhunt fix"
After installing it and reading their... tutorial... It was fixed and I had no further issues.. Gosh if only there was a giant studio somewhere with billions of our money that has the time and resources to do this by themselves.. Nah, that's just unreal. We'll have some random people from the internet sort it out for free... Absolute lowest, saddest, most pathetic move by rockstar. I ain't buying gta6, these people are clowns, scamming everyone, not securing gta5, releasing bad remakes or just completely broken versions of their games. It has been enough really.. They can go fish for money elsewhere. The original creators are gone now anyway, it is just corporate. Go buy gta6 and wait another ten or twenty years for their next gta game, I am sure that when you are old enough to have grand children you can tell them all about the previous release.
Video, audio, cues, code, it's all a mess. Never ported correctly and seemingly rockstar couldn't care less, nor does steam.
Fix for me was to get a patch from github (Of which the tutorial is horrible, it like they want you to have a stroke by merely reading their page and browsing their folder hierarchy)... The most famous one currently. Because you know, a billion dollar game company doesn't have time to patch their releases that are still being sold, that is ridiculous, don't even think about it peasant.
So big middle finger to them for selling unfinished wares that break in the tutorial, absolutely unacceptable.
They are scammers. It is not like they don't know, it was tested, but they made the decision not to finish it. They know fans will make a patch. That is just pathetic and supporting that is really sad to see.
one of the most unique games ever created. bow down to the edge lords!
Literally got stuck on gate in the beginning and couldn't continue. Mod the fuсk out of the game or you won't be able to play. No, thanks
i understand that the game is very old and may have a lot of crashes and bugs but i`ve tried everything to fix it. they could do an upgrade
What can I say? You were a good pirated game, the audience will love you. Don't expect any fixes where you're going thought!
cant get past the gate in tutorial, it just dont want to open
Michail Chkhikvishvili Simulator, REALLY makes you feel like a malnourished MANIAK from Tblisi.
good game but didnt run past the first mission until i downloaded manhunt fixer
Best atmosphere I experienced in a horror.
10/10 soundtrack.
NPC factions are comprised of memorable loonies.
Gameplay's alright.
I remember buying this game when it came to Steam, and not even being able to play it because it didnt support my version of Windows.
Nice game
chopped a guys head off with a meat cleaver 10/10
vile and gross but absolutely awesome and fun and also incredibly hard even on fetish difficulty had to use 3rd party mods to literally beat my game because it was so hard
Cut em' up, beat em' down and choke the fucking life outta them!
тебе нравится причинять другим людям боль?
very good.
its good
i like this game but it needs a patch
Even if the game were not plagued with technical problems, I would still not recommend Manhunt. It's a game of two extremes: mind-boggling boredom and infuriating frustration.
Absolute brilliant game, but though i can say there's a argue between this or the Bully game.
Game in general is amazing starting from the start to the end, including the combat, stealth, characters, enemies, and lots more. If you are planning on getting a old horror/stealth game well here it is.
BUT i can say one thing that you will need to know before buying. There is a pirated glitch and the only way to fix it is me suggesting either looking up a YT tutorial or looking on the steam community, I've also found out downloading manhunt fixer will do the trick.
Have fun and enjoy.
Make sure to patch the game before you play. Rockstar too busy making RDR, a 14 year old game, a $50 pc port even though I got it cheaper on the 360.
got to be honest in my opinion this sucks
Good game, just download Manhunt fixer to play. (It is not a virus I swear) I forgot to add that I almost broke my hand playing this game.
I love manslaughter :3
Needed to get the manhunt fixer for this game to work. If your willing to download that free product I would recommend playing this.
It's impossible to play; Rockstar didn't remove the anti-piracy measures and probably never will.
They should not sell the game if you cannot run it properly due to the company's anti-consumer behavior; it feels almost like a scam.
