beautiful, immersive and just the right amount of challenging
Beautiful story
This game was so lovely, I played the initial demo that was released years ago as a stray .zip I can't even remember where It came from. I added it to my wishlist after I finished the demo and wanted more. It's safe to say this game delivered in the most beautiful way possible. It's such a fascinating play through and even when getting stuck the hints aren't too forward that you ruin your fun of discovering the solution.
It's a beautiful game, with a beautiful underlying story. Super amazing game, highly recommend.
The game mechanic is stunning and very unique, amazing to look at. I also really enjoyed the little details in the game like when you look through the beer glass and see all these weapons in the bar I also really liked how the different sides of the cube connected and made a story. Even though I didn't really care for the story, it did give the game more dimension. But I do have to say that sometimes there were too many places to zoom in on, creating way too many possibilities. I had to use hints often because it caused too much frustration, and that took the fun out of the game for me.
A pretty puzzle game. It is very interesting to play through it.
Really good game, even on a third playthrough.
what happen to the secret ending i want it but i cant get it no fun
An absolutely beautifully made cozy puzzle game with a completely fresh concept. Masterfully thought out and executed.
Moncage is a beautiful little puzzle game.
Creative and interesting way of storytelling.
Very pleasant and nice visuals with relaxing piano.
Some of the puzzles seemed impossible to solve but keep turning, moving, zooming and suddenly you find the rewarding solution
A beautiful puzzle game taking place in different scenes in the sides of a cube where the player has to line up different objects until they look connected between the scenes, causing some change to occur. There are plenty of puzzles that felt pretty easy to solve and plenty that made me scratch my head a bit and spin around the cube multiple times. Thankfully, there is a hint system in the game that seems to only be based on time, so you have a lot of time to try to solve the puzzles without being tempted to get a hint for something you could have solved with a little more thinking. The art style is beautiful and the game tells a story without words that mostly depends on the number of pictures you find throughout the game and put in your album. The story went in places I didn't expect and honestly made me tear up a bit at the end and I felt that I managed to get a good grip on what was going on both without words and without having found every single picture. The soundtrack was at times quietly minimalist and at times building up with the story beats and it could be quite sorrowful and beautiful. A truly enjoyable experience with depth beyond its face.
Moncage is a beautiful and sincere little puzzle experience.
With elements of Fez and Monument Valley but with a unique perspective.
For fans of clever game design and subtle story telling, Moncage is sure to delight.
Really creative and interesting way of storytelling. Some of the puzzles seemed impossible to solve without the hints. Visually pleasant.
Nice idea, nice visuals, nice music. However, there are too many possibilities to find the good connection, the riddles become too hard and frustrating. With a similar idea, the game Gorogoa was very well efficient. Maybe that's just me, maybe other player will appreciate it.
Beautiful puzzle game, sophisticated puzzles that are not too difficult once you understand the mechanics. Highly recommend
stuff
Its an alright game.
Its like 10 bucks for maybe 4-6 hours of playtime. (I accidentaly left my pc on which Is why i have 10hrs) Cool concept but I don't really understand the story either. I found myself needing hints EACH time, sometimes it was so simple, and sometimes it was like a 3 step problem that I was just supposed to know that turning this makes this, ect.
Overall, 5/10, I wish I could get my money back, I would've only spent maybe 2-5$ on this game.
short and sweet
This game may be short but it's got really neat puzzles and storytelling, and both endings are really nice. Getting all achievements isn't that bad either, even considering you have to play through the game multiple times.
What an amazing game. Makes you really think and if you pay attention it also has an amazing story. Well Done
Ethereal.
the story is good and the art is always wonderful really i dont think i have any bad things to talk it
Very creative mechanics. Art was great. Story was pretty good too.
The puzzle solving process is really amazing, just hope there's a better guidance on color matching , this actually confused me several times.
A short but great puzzler with a surprisingly nuanced story to go with it. The hint system is good and nonintrusive & some of the puzzles can be a little finicky but it's not frustrating. Overall would definitely recommend on sale as it isn't even really a couple hours long unless you go for every collectible and achievement.
Fantastic game, nice plot, game play is a bit short, you even able to refund the game after finish, but please don't do that
Beautiful puzzle game that tells a tragic and bittersweet story about war in the background, how it changes us and the world around us, and how even after tragedy, there can still be beauty.
A lot of the connections force you to think outside (or in this case, I suppose inside) the box. There was only once or twice where I used hints where I thought "how would I ever thought of that on my own?" But even in those cases, I wouldn't say it was the developer's fault for making a bad puzzle; instead, it was just that the solution was very clever and required more steps and more brain power.
Highly recommend. One of the best puzzle games I've ever played, if not THE best one I've ever played. Extremely unique and simple. The diverse hint system allows for varying levels of difficulty depending on how much of a puzzle you want (and if you want an extremely challenging experience, I suggest never hitting the space bar).

A strong recommendation here, this is a innovative and a little bit "hard" puzzle game.
Hey, did you note I say it's somewhat "hard"? Aha, yeah, sometimes it's brain-frying. So if you're a "casual" player, purchase with caution.
For me, it's art style, story and music should be good. Most important, puzzles are very amazing, interesting and well designed.
That should be all. Maybe I can stop typing here, but I want to say something in "depth" below:
I have a habit: after playing a game, no matter I feel good or not, I'll read lots of negative reviews, get others feeling and think deeply. For Moncage, most of its negative comments mentioned:
1. It requires too much precision when connecting pieces. Many times I realized these things should be together and tried but nothing happened. That can easily confuse me, make me believe that's not a correct solution even if it's right. After some bad attempts, I comprised, turn to video solutions, finding mine was correct but, not aligned perfectly, only several pixels away...
I have to confess that's annoying. But soon I realized, developers may have no more choice... If they set a big tolerance here, those puzzles can be solved by moving camera unintentionally or randomly.
But still, I think it's judgement on piece connection is over-strict. That's a flaw.
2. Boring, no internal logic or special story about those levels. Dealing with completely unrelated pieces and connecting them makes people feel bad. Hmm... That's true. There's no story or mechanism that can give you any hint. You just barely recognize their shape and connect them together. I do think for some people its gameplay is boring.
3. Too hard, brain frying. Obviously that's not an easy puzzle game, not for those casual players. But personally I think a successful puzzle game should have some difficulty. All puzzle games' "soul" are their puzzles. Players should be stuck sometimes, think for a while, try various solutions to conquer those puzzles. If not, they did it easily, will they gain any sense of achievement or excitement?
Again, I respect everyone's opinion. Some people dislike difficult puzzles, I can understand. For example, we may be tired in real life, hoping to relax, just relax via video games. But you just give me such a hard and brain-hurting puzzle? That's unfair! But I'm major in related fields about game dev, for me, if I develop a game like this, I'd rather let some players (roughly, maybe 3~5%?) complaining that's so hard and leave negative reviews. If not, that should be too easy and trivial.
Okay, that's all. And, have fun!

I wanted to really like Moncage, but for some reason, I don’t see myself continuing with it. I found myself having to Google and watch YouTube videos for nearly every level, which made me feel a bit frustrated. I know I can be impatient, but even after looking up solutions, some puzzles felt impossible to solve on my own.
This game might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you enjoy challenges and testing your theories, then this could be right up your alley. It definitely offers a unique experience for those who thrive on problem-solving!
Starts getting frustrating quickly when you have to be super precise for how to position the cube to connect 2 sides.
It is a great game, I struggled quite a bit until I finished the first playthrough. I usually really enjoy playing the likes of escape room games, The Room series, House of Da Vinci series etc but my brain just didn't want to work for this one for a lot of it ^^" Glad the hints were there. I often wanted to jump ahead and there is no clear indication of order until you get it, so I guess neurodivergents might struggle with it XD Take your time and think everything through or use the well-timed help. Once you understand all, you can then enjoy a re-run to find everything that you missed in the first attempt and it is really worth it!
I enjoyed the imagery and themes in the game and the music was very relaxing. To me it also evoked Hemingway a bit, but that might just be me ^^"
So if you like puzzle games with a twist and having to rethink perspective, I highly recommend it, just don't try to rush it.
