Meh cool mech game from 360 era did play it also on Xbox like every body else that bought this game but yea by on sale.
Good on it's own, Better with a buddy,
you destroy hoards of enemies then use their remains to upgrade automated defenses over and over again, thats it, thats the whole game, sure you unlock better weapons and automated defenses and you can customise your mech and the pilot but the core gameplay loop lasts as long as milk being left outside in summer.
Used to play this on my Xbox360. Remember beating the base game and then i never had the money for the DLC.
Looks like thats all in here, and to top it off it runs on Steam Deck with 0 Issues.
10/10 3rd person RTS/Hordeshooter Hybrid.
The Setting oozes character, all of the VAs are top-notch.
Buy this game ASAP.
What an underrated gem!
Good fun tower defence game, and runs great on Linux.
I prefer the isometric view (this is first person), but it's still a well thought out example.
It feels fleshed out like old games are known for.
If you liked Orcs Must Die you'll probably like this.
As a tip: Shred+ is your friend, and survival mode unlocks more weapons if you find you're stuck on later levels.
amazing
I had this game back when it was called Trenched on Xbox. A tower defense part shooty pew pew with world war era mechs. Fully custom loadouts from miniguns to laser beams and plenty of silly hats for your marine. A fun challenge solo or co-op, fighting hordes of odd tube creatures. Decent game but i'd always recommend buying on sale.. either way it is worth your dollars. lil mechs, big guns, foul mouthed marines, whats not to love.
It's a good one every now and then. Now with even more Bear! Ah ha.
Even if this game shows its age, its charm, original gameplay and entertaining story will keep you hooked for the duration.
I have few complaints, and they all boil down to quality of life features, like better controls while sprinting or the ability to shoot and collect scrap at the same time, other opinions I will not share because they are just against the vision of the game and that is not mine to judge.
To being honest I didn't initially think much of the variety of weapons, mech parts and turrets, but they ended up being all part of a cohesive design, some shined more than others but no game is perfect.
The visuals are wonderful and the explosions expecially never get old.
Did I say it also supports co-op up to 4 players? I tested with a friend and the game gets rightfully more difficult to accommodate the change, but the fun simply increases tenfold, highly recommended.
Overall, I am satisfied of my purchase and would be happy to play a sequel if one will ever get released.
Have a nice day =)
Years later and no other game to my knowledge has been able to replicate this aesthetic nor unique gameplay loop, while it does have its moments which show its age and can get repetitive it is still a helluva lot of fun even now. Highly recommend this one.
I'm not much of a turret defense gamer, but this one was dern FUN! And of course the normal, wonderful, Double Fine sarcastic humor. Always appreciated Double Fine!!! Only criticism- MORE LEVELS! MORE LEVELS! You can hit the different decades and have all sorts of fun. But still a super solid fun game.
It's an old school game but still great fun. I haven't been able to try multiplayer but the campaign is quite fun. I just wish we could skip (the relatively short) cutscenes however. Besides that, you'll enjoy the time you've spent playing the game.
Such good memories from xbox360 and not at all disappointed. Only issue I had was controller not working, my dumbass just didn't enable controller input it works fine even on newer controllers.
It's a third person tower defense, with ww2 styles titan mechs, has neat enemies with funny name (tubes), and for some reason when one of the characters (frank jr?) says tubes reminds me of timmy's dad saying dinkleberg.
