for the visals of the game it runss like crap on smaller battles then warno and wargame so till they fix performance its a big no for me
Completed two operations - I must say, I like it:
- Video part is ok, nothing to flashy but it does the good job to describe the battlefield situation
- Progression through operation is something that I really like (maybe the card system is a bit off but overall, good addition)
- Game is on the cheaper side ... no nonsense of 30€ pricetag at Northag @ Warno
- Off-screen adds are responsive
To be honest, after the first couple of battles, the only aspect, that I really felt lacking was the air combat - I really like how it is presented in Warno and here .. I do almost forget that I can use anything outside of bombing raids

easy to play hard to master, i was initially put off as i wasnt sure what i was doing but after actually reading how the point system and phases work i really enjoy it.
Crashes too often for a game you have very limited abilities to save progress.
QoL is non existent. For example. there are reports about attacked units, but it just says type of the units, not their squad name or number or location.
So far, just another poorly implemented game. Don't give them your money until they actually do something to deserve them and start thinking about their customers having fun instead of overcoming poor design.
The card system where you have to draw something random negative is messed up. No saves during battles.
Mom I want Warno, the warno you got at home.. Honestly i own both and come back to this once in a while for the more simpler gameplay, its a great game though and recommend it if you play any other game like it

This is a fantastic game and probably one of the best RTS games I ever played, and I´m playing games since the 80s. Is has some limited scope: is single player only, only two general groups of enemies (NATO/Warsav Pact - the soviets), but the detail expands the variety of troops under each force group. But is really well done how he approach it and really fun and easily draws you in. Also, check the Winds of Change DLC: it expands the game by A LOT.
To sum up: beatiful, fun, easy to run (I use a potato to run it), engaging, has great AI and blows away the competition. BUT is single player only. Not a problem for me, but it may be a deal breaker for you. I hope is not. Is a great game!
I prefer this game over the Wargame and Warno series. While the fast pace and micromanagement in those games are exciting for many, I enjoy the slower pace here. It gives me time to think and appreciate the war scenes without the frantic clicking to keep things under control. The graphics are stunning, but one downside is how units can pass through towns and buildings. I get that it’s meant to simulate a commander’s overall view, but it still feels off.
This is the spiritual successor to the World in Conflict. Off-map support is accrued via "support points" and can be anything from a smokescreen to a cruise missile barrage. The game focuses less on micromanagement and more on proper usage of each unit available to you and good strike force composition. Its excellent single-player campaign and decent replayability make it an easy recommendation for anyone who likes Cold War RTS games or is interested in the WW3 premise.
Deserves a positive review simply for the fact they are still continuously updating this game even two years later, fantastic developers.

Excellent game. The Warpaths mode with the DLC has made the game even better, with endless replay. It plays like a turn-based game in some ways, but is an RTS. I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys a good cold war game. There is a little micromanagement, but not like other games I have played where it can make the game suck.
Grounds was given, blood was taken. The charred fields are littered with burn-out husks – III German Corps line was bent, but not broken.
IMO: The Best RTS released in year '22. Absolute Gem!
Braindead AI, simplistic as a mobile game.
An excellent game, definitely one of my favourites. I've always wanted to get into wargames but I don't really have the time or patience to study for them. Regiments is very intuitive whilst still having plenty enough depth to be engaging. The units don't require to much micromanagement and are varied and interesting. The fact that it is singleplayer is a plus also for me.
The game consists of a hand crafted campaign, computer generated campaigns and a skirmish mode with lots of settings and a variety of modes. I very much enjoy 20 or 30 minute skirmishes as I don't get a lot of time for games.
The visuals and environments are great and engagements are very cinematic. The sounds and sountrack are good, however my only complaint would be some of the sounds could do with being a bit weightier and having a bit more variety, such as the infantry gunfire.
Easy recommend.
Sadly, I can't recommend this one despite really wanting to like it after all the hype. I also bought the DLC.
I like games in which I'm the general or admiral in command of a large force. To my shock, Regiments really should be called "Companies" because you are given a patchwork of platoons to fight with. Your combined force never seems to surpass the 150 to 200 man range of a company.
Now when you add in the fact that the AI side always outnumbers you, always knows what you're up to, and seemingly appears out of thin air so that you don't have time to react, the result is all your tiny platoons are vaporized in the blink of an eye. Game over.
You can try all sorts of tricks to improve their survival rates, such as hiding them in the woods and towns, but the result is always the same. Platoons don't have any real staying power due to their size.
I'm currently playing Armored Brigade 2 and Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm and much prefer their larger units that can take a beating, pullback, and live to fight another day.
With Regiments, as many have pointed out, there really is no time for tactics. You see an enemy unit and then send your units after it, or maybe you let it come to you. Either way, your platoons just get vaporized because they always outnumber you.
The lack of a manual doesn't help. The tutorials are also rather useless.
Fantastic Singleplayer game, great variety in unit, easy to play and great replayability esp. with the latest DLC.
Simple Fun Buy It
Lets you play as The Warsaw Pact nations and punish the west for not siding with The Germans in the war against Bolshevism.
Good game. If you want some practice playing this type of game before Broken Arrow comes out or you want some offline practice with the genre for Warnok, I recommend it.
It's not just another "wargame", even though it's only single player, it feels exciting and fun, it does require adjustments to the game mechanics, if you play other wargame games but once you understand it, it's fun.
A masterpiece.
Play with the 'High Lethality' setting turned on and enjoy the one of the best (if not the best) cold war singleplayer RTS games released this side of 2013. The dynamic campaign system transforms this game from a series of action-packed campaign chapters into something almost infinitely replayable. At the same time, the strict time limits for engagements mean this game satisfies without taking up 36 hours of your weekend.
One of the best close-to-realistic Cold War RTS games out there, unlike a certain game made in france. Wish this had multiplayer though.
Not so much. No air unit except special powers. Which is sad. And infantry dies quickly even if it is in a def pos but enemy inf is tanky. Hate this shit.

Very great, plays just like World in conflict and has similarities with Wargame/Warno.
Realistic and tactical enough where the equipment and vehicle selection matter, but streamlined and gamey enough to not feel like a complete milsim game. It's like somebody took Warno/Wargame and made a version of it for casual gamers. Seen this on sale and if you're a fan of RTS it's definitely worth the buy. Kind of makes me think of Tom Clancy's EndWar or World in Conflict, fast paced and fun.

Fun, not terribly expensive game. Not as complicated as the fairly similar games out of Eugen Systems, but with a better single player experience. Has a decent amount of replayability, definitely helped by the free updates that come with the DLC releases.

If your looking for a game that has the feeling of being "in command"? Keep on walking.
Combat is boring and very weak. There is no tactical aspect at all. You download your units onto the battlefield and just bum rush at locations, The clock timer prevents having much battle planning. Clock really needs a disable option.
Great game. Reminds me of when my mother would shit in a tube sock, put it in the freezer, then beat me with it while I slept....for fun and games.

Good, fun RTS with a decent amount of depth and strategy. The time limit is quite nice - means I can actually limit myself to one or two phases a night, instead of over-playing it until dawn and losing interest.
Game rules. Totally worth the price. Dunno what else to say. Well made + Microprose so get it while you got it. good.
This game is a lot of fun and very straightforward. There are characteristics of the units you'll have to remember like placement/proximity of supply units but it's not overwhelming. I'm not typically a player of more modern types strategy warfare games. Typically I play more WW1 and WW2 era strategy so this was a great introduction, and as I said previously, a lot of fun. This game led me to also try Warno which I quite like as well.
If you enjoy RTS strategy games, particularly SD II or CoH you will find something good about Regiments. What it does well, and better than the aforementioned games, is give a strategic overview and command in real time. SD II and CoH both keep command at the squad and individual vehicle level, meaning commanding large groups sometimes turns into a massive chore of micromanagement. Some find this engaging whilst I prefer not to micromanage every single action on the part of units. Regiments allows you to step just a few feet back and give you a platoon and company command structure that makes the game slightly easier and definitely more enjoyable. The challenge then becomes tactics and technology to combat the enemy. IF you prefer SD II types; this will be a 6/10 in my assessment. IF you like something more high level but not HoI 4; this will be at least an 8/10.
I enjoy that the single player side is the focus, rather than giving all the attention to multiplayer. Strategy lends itself to this type of presentation, more than most other types of games. I applaud the developers and publisher for keeping this in mind.
Final note: is that I personally hope that the developer seriously considers adding the ability to create and edit regiments/brigades for use in the skirmish and war paths modes (I would not ask for it in operations for obvious reasons). It would allow for more creativity and re-playability. You could select a nation, then build the platoons or companies included in the main unit (just like every other regiment/bridge). And also create or use preexisting battlegroups that could be called in during the battle like the preexisting groups. Perhaps at one point this will come out as a DLC package or direct update.
There are not many wargames RTS there and most of them made by the same studio where obviously some mechanics carry over and improve with the time as graphics and ideas, but remains somewhat the same (Wargames series, Steel Division series and WARNO as examples). On top of that, most of these games are set in either WW2 or Cold War periods of time.
Regiments aren't exceptional here, but there is a catch. We got another game that follows alternative Cold War's realistic ground combat offering a bit of new mechanics and approaches on how to play in familiar environments (for wargamers). It's lacking some simple things like getting infantry into buildings giving you the ability to move it around their designated vehicles or let it build fortifications while stationary. Instead of static maps with capture points the game offers to play on dynamic switching points changing the way you have to play the game. It's not as big scale combat as you would expect after other similar games, utilizing air as abilities instead of aircraft units for example giving you more time to control ground army and such. Additionally the game offers a lot of optional solo-pve content, some of which is dynamic as well and can keep you entertained for a while.
So, I'd say this game is a must have for you if you like realistic tactical games, military stuff and RTS or are tired of other similar games. At least for now. Genre is a bit niche and there are not many games out there. Broken Arrow and Front Edge won't come anytime soon and won't be content fully in the beginning anyways.
My only question is where the fuck is achievments?
Regiments is probably as far as you can push the RTS genre while keeping it highly playable. If you're a fan of real-time strategy games, this is a solid and enjoyable choice.
I invested around 25 hours into it, and while I had fun, I eventually hit a wall of frustration—but that might just be my old-school turn-based preferences talking. The game scratches the tactical itch, but don’t come here expecting hardcore realism.
For example, I witnessed three platoons of T80BVs and T64Bs engaging two entrenched Challenger tanks at a distance of around 500 meters. Instead of a quick, decisive battle, they were exchanging machine gun fire for over a minute, slowly whittling each other down. That’s simply not how modern tank warfare works.
The game leans more into "gamey" mechanics than true-to-life military simulation, but it’s still a lot of fun in its own right. Just know what you're getting into—Regiments is more about tactical fun than absolute realism.
I had tech issues with a Microsprose game, went to their collective "Discord", randomly ate a 24 ban for "speculating" on a Microprose game's price on their Discord, I think I wrote a simple price, that's all it took. Tell your moderators, specifically the one who goes by "Pepe Silvia" to chill out, I'd refund every Microprose game I have and I damn well won't be buying another product going forward.

As a casual wargame player this is one the easier one to get into. Not alot of micromanaging as the amount of units on field is not too many, around 1 to 2 dozen units in a game.It is single player focus as there is not multiplayer but I am more of a single player person. Only gripes are minor, some performance issues, mainly when there is heavy fighting. Would recommend game to those starting to get into Cold War era wargames.
