It bugged out badly, and now it won't even open and start up properly, talk about a waste of money, save yourself the cash and go buy wallapaper engine. The devs clearly give 0 care towards this project, and are overall unreliable for anything. Seriously, AVOID THIS

A Cheap program for watching Master Chief, a Squid Game Member, and Spiderman do the coffin dance.

This program is great to add some flavor to a desktop image. I highly recommend pairing it with another program available on Steam and you will truly amazing looks on your desktop.

well, i like it but i only really use for the effects.. why in the world are we subject to limitations, i can not send any new messages while i am exhumed in the game process, also i have a favorite sim bot from mmd3 but i cant load it on to this game so i have to use both running at same time, that really should be fixed and you can not have slight movement of hair and clothing ??:-+) i like it but i also like dinosaurs 2

program does what it says and does a decent job with animations for the price would be cool if it would work in place of cortana though

Your computer probably doesn't have Sakura petals and anime tiddies bouncing around on the screen right now, but like, it could.

Just a heads up here, this is the successor of "Miku Miku Dance Engine", which was taken off from the store and then rebranded (I think) to this.

I can't really recommend this because it's execution is not the best; it doesn't seem to have an actual audio detection feature and models will execute a random dance (and won't change until your song is done) when playing on any of the music players it actually detects.

Other than that, it has a lot of models and community content (including prebuilt dances), but it's not exactly a good "desktop mascot" cause it lacks any other interaction beyond dancing.

Hey, at least it's cheap and it will let you add some effects to your screen and couple it with Wallpaper Engine (be adviced, this software runs on full screen so if you set up W.E. to stop when running something on full screen, this will kill your wallpapers once you click on any model).

i cant even uninstall this garbage "due to unexpected errors"
i cant open it because it needs an update but when i update it it switches rapidly from "pause" to "resume"

this is very unprofessional and its more then fair to say i am disappointed

The app itself is good, but there's a annoying technical problem. It makes the taskbar go behind a tab, such as google chrome. I have the "automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode" on. The only way to fix this is to close the app when its running in the background. Maybe i'm doing something wrong but right now there's nothing I can do except close the app.

I really love how you can add effects to your screen but what I love more are the models. If you are an anime fan, models are great. You can add multiple A.I. Anime Characters around your PC, control them, make them dance. For the amount of money I spent on this, I can also say that the price is great and that it was worth it!=.

Oh man don't even think about this app until the dev works out the wash out issues which have done nothing but get worse over time.

Stay away, dont even think about buying this thing, until those of us who already have it inform everryone that the dev has fixed the wash out (yes, it is that bad).

Apps WAY TOO BUGGY.

•Subscribing to workshop items is a mess, it frequently needs to use Steam's file validation process if something does not work.
•UI/UX is questionable, at best. I don't even understand how/what/why/where am I doing the first 30 mins.
•Models rendered way too bright and crisp, sometimes looking nightmarish. I confirm this apps render models is different with how the models originally looks. Even when I enlarge it, it still looking crisp af.
•Renders of HD/HQ models with detailed hairs (like Tifa FFVII remake) is an absolute joke.
•Workshop does not showing any information about the items except thumbnail and filesize, no filter/category except file type models/dance/effect for its workshop,
•Reloading the apps does not fix anything - it makes the apps broken because my item lists is stuck and bugged everytime I do it, to fix it needs to run Steam's files validation (((((again)))))
•Random lags, more reload = more lags. I don't understand how UI so basic can make my i7-4710HQ GT840M lags so much.

I respect the fact that the apps is priced low because developer understands their selling point is user-created content, but this IS NOT the way to publish an apps. It's been more than 3 months after this apps got released and I still getting these which most people already said in its early days.

Refunded (hopefully, because as of now I reached 117 mins). 117 being stressful just trying to get it works as I expected.

I would strongly recommend passing on it unless they add more features.

It's fun playing with it for all of an hour, but gets old quickly.
Also, it relies completely on user created content, and as such has far too much wasted potential.

Why isn't the UI setup for adding additional idle, on click, or character specific animation? Why can't it pull in music from more sources? Dance animations are completely random, and there's no method for users to categorize them to the type of music that's playing.

There's nothing wrong on relying on user created content. But this application is so limited, it's boring.

The interactivity and the amount of features alone make this a great app to have. I hope that others get a chance to use this app and have fun with it. I sure did!

If you're a weeb this is pretty much the best software on Steam.

About the models:
‣ They can dance to music tracks in the software itself
‣ They have tons of idle animations as well as animations when you click on the characters
‣ They will randomly walk around your screen sometimes
🛇 Models do not talk or have any voicelines at all, like they do in Desktop Kanojo

Other stuff:
‣ I mostly just use the anime models, but there is other stuff like nice colourful screen effects
‣ This might be obvious to some people, but it's strongly advised to use Steam Workshop with this software since that's where all the characters and dances are located

What an absolute disaster. This is the first and hopefully the only product that I have uninstalled and requested a refund after less than an hour of use. It did some cool effects, but ended up removing my desktop background in the process. I tried closing it, but the program wouldn't close. So I exited steam. The program was closed when I logged back into steam, but I still didn't have my background back. So I uninstalled the damn thing. Still no background. So I rebooted and opened the task manager. Damned if that thing wasn't still somehow running like friggin' PC herpes, even without Steam. I went through some shenanigans to get my usual background back, but for some reason the Steam Icon is completely fucked and only shows as a blank page instead of the Steam logo. This utility is trash.

UPDATE: I see the developer responded, but they're wrong and it didn't fix the issue. I figured out exactly what this program did to my computer: It literally bugged out so hard it corrupted my OS. It caused an issue where I was unable to install new GPU drivers, and I had to fix it by going into Powershell and running SFC /scannow to repair it, reboot, update windows, reboot, and then re-install the drivers. This also fixed my improperly displayed Steam icon.This utility is fucking malware, don't buy it.

As a software developer, this boosted my productivity so much!!!

Nothing better than having an anime girl dancing on top of vscode while I am working!

Old app from the same developer got removed from the store due to licensing issues. Had to rebuy this one in hopes to get fixes but its as bug ridden as the old one. On top of that it did cost more even though I have already paid for the old app.

Does not work like the other crap app the developer had to take down from the store before Desktop MMD... Its not even worth the 40 cent it costed... Same issues as the old app.... Win10 Dual Screen, 1 Ultrawide monitor, 1 normal.... Models dont load, dont show loaded, restarting the app multiple times then makes the models show somewhen... This is what i call an absolutely UNTESTED APP. Not worth your money until dev fixes this.

UPDATE:
The dev fixed it, so the models now are really loaded and do work on ultrawide screens with dual monitor configurations. Some of the effects are still VERY VERY strange as they e.g. cover only half of the ultrawide screen, but most work.
No i can see this software is working. Maybe not a 100%, but which app does that...

Everything works perfectly for me, however i would like to be able to run the application without steam constantly running this
7/10 until this is fixed
Worth the money otherwise

EDIT: moved from 5/10 to 7/10 because if you have this start on bootup, it doesnt say its running with steam, but i would still prefer another way to avoid that without restarting, otherwise, would love to see more animations added
