Prepare, dear wanderer, to embark on a zen-like journey through the ethereal landscapes of 'hoVRboard,' a captivating virtual reality 'Skating' experience that transcends the boundaries of relaxation.
In this delightful realm that goes through differend levels, time stands still as your spirit glides effortlessly on a mystical hoverboard, evoking a sense of calm and serenity.

The rhythmic swaying of the hoverboard beneath your feet soothes the mind, transporting you to a place where worries disperse like mist in the morning sun. The game offers us a well packed variation in challenges through the levels, the skatepark in the first level is really a place you can't step away from so easy. Although this game is out of early access, an online multiplayer fre
Escape the cacophony of everyday life, for 'hoVRboard' grants solace from the burdens of the world. Immerse yourself in a realm where time holds no sway, where the mind finds respite, and where the simple act of gliding on a hoverboard becomes a catalyst for profound relaxation.
Now this is what you call an under-rated game. It's fun and fast paced. The controls are easy to pick up, but you will be rewarded for mastering them. There is a good amount of content, and there is a satisfying progression system.
Highly recommended, be sure to check this one out.
For only $12, this game is 100% worth it's price. I've had hours of fun on the game's 3 maps, which are large and have many challenges to complete. Certainly doesn't replace real snow or skateboarding, but for some indoor fun, HoVRboard is where it's at!
Cons:
- Inactive development
- 360 degree tracking preferred
Works flawless with the HP Reverb G2 WMR. Controls are intuitive and it's very simple to control the board. However, I don't recommend this to first time VR gamers. I'm experienced and my legs got weak and I felt a little dizzy during my initial play session. That may or may not happen to you but just thought I would mention it. I highly recommend you select "beautiful" within settings to minimize eye strain. Adjust your speeds too for a more comfortable experience.
It's a unique VR title for sure and has lots of potential but take it easy and keep your initial play sessions short until you become comfortable with the controls and you're able to better adjust to the game to minimize motion sickness. I was more acclimated to it during my second play session so it just takes a little getting use to.
I wish I didn't have to go through loops to unlock new environments. I just want to explore and have fun not be forced to earn stars to unlock new environments. I don't have much time as it is so it kind of ruins the fun a bit. With that said, it's a good title and worth checking out. I'm sure it's way more fun once you adjust to the game and configure it to your liking.
You can adjust the turn speed and use the WMR sticks to navigate with the board. No need to activate custom controller profiles ect .., it just works.
SO MUCH FUN. Controls take a little getting used to but its easier to pick up on than VR Skater. All that and it's actually priced right for the amount of content. Picked up on a sale and it's a no brainer. Definitely a hidden gem in the VR world.
Ya the concept is really nice, but it is not there yet. The experience for me so far is underwhelming. I don't know for example how to get stars. And for some reason the other worlds seem to be locked so I cannot use the snow world. I probably need to finish the races but these timelimits are so super tight that I am not able to reach the next point, and have to do it all over again. It is frustrating more than enjoyable actually so I give a thumbs down.
I really want to do a full video review on this game but long story short, if you have Wireless VR (Like a Quest 2 with AirLink) it is a MUST BUY in my book, it is impressive for a solo project and you will have a ton of fun, I hope the Dev can add some more joystick turning options for those that can only play wired (and also this would be an incredible Quest 2 game, just saying Tomy)
HoVRboard offers a great hoverboard simulation that is tight and responsive, allows you to carve with the edge of your board and pop the tail or nose like a skateboard. There are simple gameplay objectives to follow some course or go through enough gates. Point rewards are used to unlock other levels and boards. Features upbeat electronic rock music that gets more intense as you ride faster. Looping mechanic is smooth and easy to use, but a bit too simple, still really fun if you have the stomach for it. Less intense than other VR board games i've played, as you can control your board speed at a whim and the game has simple/smooth graphics. I highly recommend this to anyone using a wireless VR setup. Having a wired setup is not a deal breaker at all but could be annoying.
This is the best VR hoverbike I've ever seen. It's one of the best VR rides in general.
This is a real fun game for VR skating fans - you my not have wheels, but who doesn't want to try a hoverboard? :D
You find yourself in a huge park, which seems like an unusual choice for skating but again - This is hoverboarding! As you explore the surroundings, you find typical skate park areas as well with lots of ramps and pipes, as well as an interesting-looking, sunken city. The graphics are somewhat simple, but good enough for the immersion to work.
The controls are very intuitive, in the beginning I found it a bit weird that you accelerate with the trigger on your "off" hand, but that can be switched in the menu. You steer by controlling the angle of the board with your controllers and jump by flicking them up. Also, you can collect turbo orbs to speed up and do lots of challenges that unlock new boards. So far it was great fun and I'll definitely play more - I recommend trying this!
Fun for the price but it's not quite as polished as Jet Island - some of the physics are off and there's a few poor UI choices as well as a bunch of spots on the map that would benefit from some minor tweaks. For example halfway down one of the long downhill halfpipes where the pipes join it acts like a collision - easy fix would be to lower the bottom one a tiny bit but for some reason they havent done it and I have found 3 or 4 in 3 hours playing no doubt theres more
If they fixed up the bugs, polished the map and the physics I'd happily pay $30 for an improved Hovrboard 2 as its a lot of fun at its core
IF you snowboard and have that muscle memory of how to move this app provokes a quite surprisingly realistic sensation. I am someone who doesn't get dizzy or sick ever in VR (not that I did here) but within a few seconds of intuitively getting in my snowboarders pose I was leaning into the turns and shifting my weight so realistically I almost lost my balance a couple of times as the resistance of the snow was not there to counterweight my 'board's edge'. I think this needs a LOT more development, not because it's unfinished or there's anything wrong with it but because it's sooooo good. I'd love to see this engine with some really cool custom levels - rendered in super HD. I also have the Cybershoes and am figuring out a binding for them to either jump or help steer. So much potential here and a lot of fun. Recommend it if you are a boarder.
Very enjoyable free-roam/racing game with unique controls.
Pros:
+ Traversing open levels feels amazing after some practice. Movement speed is really fast and both skating and gliding are a lot of fun. My personal favorite is grinding rails, it's very challenging and satisfying
+ Adaptive music is great, really adds to the feeling of speed
Cons:
- The game crashed a lot: I've experienced about 10 crashes in 5 hours. Thankfully, loading times are short and there is no way to lose progress, so I didn't feel too bad about crashing
- Visuals are pretty bad, main menu is also quite ugly
This is the kind of game that just gets better the more you play and become one with the control. I'm using WMR headset and at first I couldn't see my controllers so I thought I couldn't play it. You'll need to bind WMR control in the options menu, then your controllers will appear in game. Took a little while to get it but as I played and experimented I found myself having a complete blast! (PUN intended) the first time I blast jumped!! The challenges will make you work hard to complete and that is helping me to get better. Great Fun!! Really excited to see the different boards and what they will be like. Big thank you to Tomy Horst. I would buy again.
(played on original Vive)
A dev after my own heart.... lol.... I hope so much that this is some base content to prep you for your next big release...... hoping for a full on snowboarding game (thinking SSX Tricky style)....
Suggestions:
- UI would be easier to control via click instead of it automatically selecting after a very short time (or at least wait a little longer...)
- save my goofy (inverse thrust) option for when I reload
- associate a button with latching on to rails so we aren't forced to
- maybe add a button associated with a lip grab as well
- different movement options would be awesome; I was imagining leaning to turn (based on head). I found myself naturally doing this since I used to snowboard, and think it could work well in game and feel really smooth
- multiple maps would be sweet... imagining more contained sizes with focused themed (maybe comparable to Tony Hawk games?)
I really like where you're going with this. Keep up the awesome work. Thanks for the fun and unique VR experience.
Great game, great developer - essential to your VR game collection.
hoVRboard lends itself to that perfect mix of being able to jump in easily and relax while hovering around or really getting the heart working by getting some insane air whilst trying to pull off all the tricks under the sun.
This will be a daily jump in for 20 to 30 minutes a day just to unwind for me for a long time to come.
Buy it!
I think this is the kind of games that VR needs. truly unique experiences that only VR can bring, and that break away from conventional games. When I first got in I was kinda intimidated by just how big the map was but once I actually started moving around and gaining speed I realized just how much ground I could cover. if you have a need for speed and have a VR headset I'd recommend this little indie gem.

The concept of this game is great. Good game, very responsive developer

While I haven't "finished" the game or anything - I just wanna get a review out for that critical early phase as I think this has a ton of potential.
TLDR: Ain't perfect, but you could totally get this and have a good bit of fun. It's not Jet Island.
To get performance and "quality" out of the way: It's fine on my system. I don't get stutters or anything like that. The quality/production values of the game are perfect IMO. It does not feel janky. Back to gameplay:
The game isn't perfect, but it can be great fun. Don't think it is just a derivative of something like Jet Island, as it isn't. It doesn't have thruster hands, grappling hook, etc. The board is much more manually controlled, and requires some precision. I think this is a plus, and the board controls really lend itself to it. Your hands really tightly control the board. You can watch the trailers to get an idea of that.
What about the "isn't perfect" part? Well, it currently has some control finickyness. To explain in detail would make this absurdly long. But I do have some gripes on the Index Controllers. Also no it doesn't have finger tracking why the hell would it need finger tracking
Anyways, I like this game.
Really cool game. Decided to give it a try, definitely worth the small price. Can't wait to see where this game goes.
