Loved every aspect and detail of this game! Quite short compared to most games (finished it in about 2 hours) but there's so much content, exploration and side quests I'm sure most will love!!!

It's my 3rd time finishing the game and this time 100% percent. It's such a lovely ride, you can take it easy and enjoy the atmosphere.

A Fun, Charming, and Relaxing Adventure
I found myself enjoying A Short Hike a lot more than I expected. The movement, world-building, and overall atmosphere were fantastic.
The movement mechanics really set this game apart and make the hike enjoyable, and as you unlock upgrades, it just keeps getting better.
The NPCs were a major highlight for me. They fit seamlessly into the world, and I loved how they had a lot to say. You’re rewarded for talking to them multiple times, with entertaining and often funny dialogue. They all felt unique, like they each had their own thing going on.
The story is simple and cute - nothing too deep, but it serves the game well, and reaching the summit of Hawk Peak was really satisfying.
The music was great too, it helped set the mood and energy for all the different trails throughout the hike.
The game is simple and short, but that’s what makes it so enjoyable. It’s fun, worth the price, and just a relaxing experience all around.

I'm so glad indie games are as prevalent as they are now. Without them, we wouldn’t have short, relaxing gems like A Short Hike. The game is just as charming and endearing as it looks—you run around, meet friends, have fun, and work toward whatever goals you set for yourself. It’s all about getting outside, experiencing nature, clearing your head, and just enjoying the moment. It’s basically “go outside and touch grass”—the game, and it’s genuinely beautiful.
If you're like me and sometimes hit a bit of a "gaming slump" after spending so much time on long RPGs, A Short Hike is the perfect palette cleanser between bigger games. It’s a cozy little escape that helps you relax and take it easy, and honestly, I can’t think of a better way to start the new year.

Very wholesome. Easy to pick up and forget that you're trying to get reception and instead you just explore.
Would like to have more camera control here for better navigation and steering of character but I understand it's likely an atmospheric choice and for the same of some puzzles. Still doesn't work super great for gliding when the camera decides to change out of nowhere because it thinks you want to look at the mountain wall when in reality you'd like to enjoy the view *away* from the mountain just a lil bit. So all in all camera feels a bit wonky but I generally really enjoyed the game. It made me smile and chuckle and giggle. Reminds me of "Here Comes Niko", "Smushi Come Home", "Lil Gator Game". All of which were great.

This game only took me 40 minutes to beat but I loved it so much. While in the process of hiking up to Hawk Peak, I genuinely felt how I believe Claire felt, which is to say that I completely forgot I was trying to get reception and instead I was purely focused on the journey. The art style is very cute and so are the characters. The game as a whole felt so wholesome and nostalgic. It made me feel the same way I felt 6 or 7 years ago while playing through Mario Odyssey as a kid. I just wanted to explore this world, meet it's characters, do everything I could and just take in the music and the scenery, in a way that I had never wanted to besides in Odyssey. It takes like an hour to beat and is less than $5 on sale, please pick it up and play it.

Ambience
The game has very good and relaxing ambience. I felt good and relieved after playing this game. It is very relaxing, cozy and feels like it should never end. It is walking sim with glide mechanics. A little treasure finding and puzzle solving.
Art Style
I loved the art of this game. The visuals are really cute and amazing. The Game feels good, too good. [uI was pretty high while playing this game and it made me feel cozy from the inside out. Made my trip memorable with this "Short Hike"[/u].
Music and Sound Effects
The Thing that I love about these games is the sound for the characters. The beep bop sounds pleasant to my ears. The Music transitions very smoothly from one region to other as you go up. The SFX for sprouts, digging, gliding, wind is so satisfying and pleasant to the ears. I wish they had a separate Music OST for this game for purchase.10/10, I recommend this game to play once and have a relaxing time.

A sweet and simple game with cute moments and interactions. I really enjoyed exploring the island and completing different side quests along the way, also the dialogue between claire and the npcs were funny and made the game feel immersive.
(Side note: I apparently suck at beachstickball.)

The name isn't lying, this game is short. lol It took me about 4 hours to play, and that was puttering around, just exploring, before going to the peak. I wasn't a huge fan of the racing mini-games, but I LOVED playing around in the boat.
I think I might replay this again in the future, once I forget it a bit, and try to 100% it, but I'm good for now.

small map with things to discover and collect even after reaching the summit. some weather and music changes in different areas .the dialoges with the npcs are funny and full of positivity. good sense of humor by the devs. i did chuckle a lot. i didn't rush it but after 2 hrs i reached the summit. i still find stuff i missed on my first way up. lots of hidden chests etc. its cozy and brings posi vibes. a game made with love. worth it.
i played for a little bit then dropped it, i picked the game back up again and am glad i did. the story is simple yet amazing, it truly is one of the best games I have ever played. its kinda like the outer wilds in the sense that it is a perfect game with zero replayability, i could not see myself doing another play through and I am okay with that.

I normally don't play cozy games but the visual style and short length of this game made me give it a shot as a refresher between some longer games. The soothing music, satisfying sound design, smooth controls, and beautiful art design and colors all came together to create a charming experience that really captured the excitement I feel when I am hiking at the crack of dawn on a trail I've not completed yet.
I also enjoyed how the side quests involve your character keeping up with a few recurring characters as they make the same journey up the mountain that you do. The dialogue also felt both appropriate for the aesthetics and endearing in its own right, though I can see it not being everyone's cup of tea. Overall a very relaxing game. Would recommend for anyone who loves nature and beautiful, colorful landscapes.
Very fun chill game. Great music. I played with mouse and keyboard, but it's probably best with controller like the game recommends when you first launch it.

This game is absolutely perfect. Like animal crossing but better, and with a final goal in mind. Everything you complete in this game is satisfying and rewarding, It's definitely on my list for my favorite games of all time. I'm so happy that I tried this game, I truly can't get enough of this game as it implements the cozy vibes and chillness of a game like animal crossing and has a main storyline like Celeste. This is a game that you should definitely buy, the only problem I have with this PERFECT game is that it is so short, I really wish the main storyline was longer. ;(

I was very confused at the start, I had no idea what was going on and thought the game was boring in the first 20 minutes or so. I played more, and minutes turned into hours, without even noticing. Even though the game is short, there's bunch of side quests you can do, and you can even fish! This was such a relaxing and calming experience. There's nothing rushing you, no real objective, you can move at your own pace. Not to mention the cozy atmosphere it had from start to finish. I couldn't recommend this game more!
Really enjoyed this game, reminds me of Animal Crossing in a way but still very original to itself. Love the art style and the music, definitely recommend if you're into relaxing games with wholesome themes.
Very good game. It is on the shorter side, but I will whole-heartedly recommend it.
I might have only played it for 4 hours and gotten all of the achievements, but I would say, that that was money well spent.
There is one issue however: The camera. Everything else is spot on. The music is adaptive. However, in combination with the funky camera, the movement starts hindering the music. I still very much enjoyed the NPC's, the gameplay for the most part and the music. I have gotten to experience one very nice moment, which I will treasure and remember for a long time. Worth buying! 9/10

I played this with my 4yo. I had to "drive" for portions of it, particularly the last third in the upper portions of the mountain. She was able to follow along with the story. If they release a sequel I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I think even with the additional delays playing a game with a young kid it took us less than 3 hours in total. Which is fine, there's a lot of density to this game, they could have easily dragged it out to 6 but it feels "tight" and good as is. It's also good for adults, but wanted to highlight that you can play this with a kid and it might hold their attention.
This game is fun, engaging, has lots of side quests that makes it interesting, the dialogue is witty and entertaining, and the story at the heart of it is beautiful. 100% would recommend!

Honestly one of the best games I've ever played. Even after the storyline (which was heartwarming by the way), I played again and again afterwards just for the sake of it. The OSTs make me feel like I'm at home, and so does the whole place in general. If only this was a sandbox type of game too, I'd continue to play all the time just to vibe and do things. I want more content arghagjsgrwuy3erg I LOVE THIS GAME
I do feel like the review score is inflated. You'd expect an absolute master piece 10/10 perfect game. It's not that but it's good enough that it'd be hard to say you didn't enjoy it. The game has flaws but ultimately it's a nice, though rather short, experience.
