At Home is an indie horror where strangers come to your house and kidnap you and then you find yourself in a forest in a locked hut. Your task now is to escape. To trick maniacs and escape from captivity, you will have to come up with an escape plan using the items near you, surveying the surroundings and so on. But the main thing is to act quietly and unnoticed in order to constantly remain hidden, because the maniacs have installed surveillance cameras in the house and in the surrounding area.

A game with starling potential and a few moments of decent atmosphere. This game plays on the fear of the unknown in a very literal sense.
How am I supposed to navigate my way around the house when I can't even see where I'm going? The lights go off immediately not long after the explanation messages. How is this even enjoyable when I'm suddenly plunged into complete darkness? I thought this would be a fun puzzle to experience based on the lighted areas on the screenshots I've seen. If that's possible then where can I get a source of light to shine in the dark? Can someone please help me?
game with no end :(
Dogshit, can't even play the game since it makes it pitch black
I love indiegames and never say the game is bad for bad graphic reason if its have good narrative. But after make same things for 2 or 3 time I stuck in the room with phone ringtone and there's nothing to do. I think it is end of game but there's no clue about this. You could make this game better with 1-2 tricks but you choose publish unfinished game and deceive people. Shame on you guys. You can watch gameplay from my channel on YouTube:

I'm speechless.
like someone tried to make this in one night and didnt finish but published it anyway. trash
If this game is meant to make me feel like a man with rickets looking for his car keys, then I'd say it did a great job.
If this game is meant to be scary, well.... it did not do that great of a job.
While this game's visuals are pretty nice, $5 to me is kind of pushing it. There's not a lot of substance to the game and *spoiler* there's no real threat the entire time. The ambiance is pretty good as I was on edge a bit with the creaking windmill and such, despite being pretty sure there was no real threat. The ambiance and approaching sounds in the woods when you attempt to escape where pretty good too.
Towards the beginning, the lights go out and the doorbell rings. At this time, while you can still find your way to the door, it's very difficult to see and from a game playing perspective near total darkness in a game where you have to actually feel your way around is not fun, it's just annoying. I also felt like some mechanics weren't really explained, such as starting up the car and in a much smaller case, opening the shake's door. Both require multiple tries, with the car being a lot more unpredictable as far as how long you have to hold the button, or how many times you have to press it.
All in all, I do appreciate the effort that that creator(s) put into making a game. Like I said, good ambiance and graphics. The controls were a bit off, some minor details weren't very clear, the game didn't really have an actual end, and that scene at the beginning was waaay too dark. Honestly, if the game didn't loop (or if it had and ending to be more clear that I missed it) and it had an actual resolution and the scene at the beginning wasn't so pitch black, I could be a bit more iffy. Hope you create more stuff, stay on it because you've got a start to something, but it just needs a little more of a push.
Well...
It's not TO bad.
But it's frustrading. Could happen more and not hiding things very weirly.
Ran a lot around.
I don't hate it but wish there would be more.
There's hardly any reason for a serious review, so here's what happens in At Home. During your first few seconds of the game, you'll be stopped at 1 second intervals to be fed a haphazard tutorial. The lights will go out and you'll be stuck, wandering aimlessly in the pitch-dark for a phone. You've seen a phone, so you try to pick it up to no avail. You wander around more, maybe find a door that opens to the outside and you step through it. You then wake up in a shack that you have to stumble out of. You'll find a flashlight and, eventually, a key amid the primarily empty rooms of the house you were just in. You'll try to use the key everywhere, including a barn and a gas station, until you realize that you need to use it in a vehicle. The vehicle does nothing... unless you keep holding the W key and then it will eventually go.
What do you do then? Do you drive away from this abominable shack? Of course not. The truck drops you off in the middle of a road, presumably having broke down, and you run in a straight line for the next 2 minutes until you wind up back at... you guessed it... the same house. You find a key, go into the house and find another key, go back to the gas station to get, le gasp, a crowbar, so that you can go get the key to the same truck that broke down which is now somehow back at the house, and you get in the truck and drive away. Game over, you start again from the beginning. Freaking BRILLIANT.
You'll do all of this garbage while using a flashlight that only points to the right 1/3rd of your screen; making the other 2/3rds completely useless. Let this be a lesson to you folks, always check and double check the developer and publisher of a game. If I had noticed that At Home was made by the same dingleberry that made Polterheist I would've never wasted a buck. The best thing about this game is that the store page (and in-game tutorial) says that you have to be quiet and stealthy to avoid being detected by cameras. Spoiler alert, there are no cameras. One of the biggest crocks of crap on Steam, neigh unrivaled.
Rating: 0.5/5.0 - Abysmal, avoid it like the plague.

this was underwhelming
absolute master piece, 100% reccomend this game ive never played a better game in my life
it was fun at first because it was a bad game and then the lights go ot and you have to wander through the house like a tard until you find the door and then you get your stuff rocked over and over and ove again till you quit the game because you are doing the same thing over and over and over again.
much love, baby lungs
Utter Garbage!!!! Wanted to rip my man tit off because i suffered from a coma by playing this game. Thank you.... my parents dont love me anymore because i wasted 49 cents on this amazing fantastic horror game that doesnt have any of the elements that i just mentioned. Anyway, i'll take my money back and shove my 49 cents on hooker because thats truly horror than this game will ever be.
Love, Your biggest fan
PS Dont overprice your games <3
A lot of words but not all true.
for one thing, it is an indie game but, until they are implemented, cctv don't work, you never see the kidnappers, and don't be scared to die.
It does make you think even though there isn't much in the game however the main thing that should be excluded from the description is that it's not a stealth game. there is literally no element of it being stealth.
do give the game ago as it's not an entire waste of time and you can have fun but do expect yourself having to do a lot of searching.
Below is my walkthrough, there is two parts as I wanted to see if there was any other way of completing the game without 'dying'!:

I don't even know what this is. Within the first 20 seconds of the game, you are thrown into darkness, but the graphics are awful. Just a bunch of weird dark shapes that resemble very little. You spend your time smashing the E key hoping to find SOMETHING! You hear a constant ringing sound. I have gone close to this sound many times and no matter what, i cannot seem to interact with anything at all to switch it off. It would be nice to see at least SOME THING!!! I might as well have my monitor switched off at this rate.
If they want this game to succeed, then for pete's sake, don't put a person into pitch black and make movement very difficult. I can hear clicking as I open and close doors but I seem to go back and fourth around the same areas. We need some visuals, even if its only 5%-10% to see where on earth we are going and what we are doing. Sheesh!
Don't waste your money on this game. It sounded good. But due to the extreme darkness of it, I never got to the fun part. If indeed there even was a fun part. Very disappointing indeed.
I've even requested a refund. Yes, it was that awful.
This game is so dark, i cant even finish it.
It was a very big mistake of me to buy this game.
in the first 5 minutes I got stuck because they turn off all of the lights at the start FORCING you to wander through pitch darkness until you get clocked in the back of the head,
Then you wake up in a cabin where the only way out is getting bored/frustrated resulting in mashing E on the door until the lock actually breaks.
and then you have to wander another house in PITCH BLACK AGAIN to find a car key,
and even if you manage to find the flashlight near the van its super-awkward to use since its stuck pointing to the far right of your screen.
I dont want to spoil more but I just want to say I was dissapointed that almost ALL of the puzzles could only be solved by getting either frustrated or bored and mashing the E or A key.
I also want my money back
I tried everything I could think of to figure out the puzzle. I tried running in circles, I tried screaming, I tried complaining. But all I ended up doing was finding texture pop in, glitches, and aggravation. I feel like I'm just stupid, but that'd be too brutally honest. So I'll just give the game a 5/10
