The dramatic events which took place aboard the deep space mining fleet Elivagar have left the Galactic Union in a state of political disarray. In her quest to find her lost mother, meanwhile, Margaret Dale has left behind all of those who shared her home at the academy. There are still a great many unanswered questions regarding her mother's disappearance, the destruction of Latona station and the nature of her extraordinary abilities. The penultimate story of the series. Closes out with a heartfelt tug on the ol strings.
Like all the others from this author's series, it's a lovely game that I really enjoyed. Character development has always been that developer's forte and this episode shines.
It's 2023 now, and I still come back to check the discussion forum from this developer hoping for another installment to this series. This is how much I love the game and the entire series.
bla bla bla.. so much dialogue, and every bit of it is important to the story. more like an interactive novel, really. loved it!

These entire series were so very well-written, and it was thought through very carefully, even to the smallest details. I can easily tell that you devs put your heart and soul into these games. This is seriously the most underrated and best RPGmaker game (or series) I ever played on steam. I feel like there's still a lot to this story though that it doesn't feel like a real conclusion. I'd really love to see another sequel to this.
Another great adventure game from Pilgrim Adventures. It shows that good writing can overcome everything including using RPG Maker.
And so the series concludes with SPA:Reunion.
Personally, I liked the first two entries better than the latter two. The conclusion was good, but just not a home-run or anything for me.
Overall, pretty good value for the whole series. Would recommend to anyone who likes a good story and doesn't mind minimal gameplay.
Truly great ending of the great game! As interesting, immersive, and fun as I expected (which actually I can say about each of the Space Pilgrim's parts). And one more point to mention - "SP: Reunion" feels even more technically progressive than previous parts, so developers also improve and grow over themselves, which is double great!!
Fantastic writing, as expected for the series, but it will get pretty dark before the sun comes out. And the truth is, well, sometimes it takes a while.
The whole series is worth playing. Seriously. Do yourself a favour and get it. Most of the AAA games out there won't give you an emotional payout worth your money. This one... well it did for me.
TL;DR: This is the eighth and last part in a long, story driven series. It is important to start at the beginning of the Space Pilgrim Series, or at least the start of the Space Pilgrim Academy series, each 4 games. The story isn't standalone, and you won't know why you are doing any of this without the background.
That being said if you have played the earlier chapters, you probably want to know how it all ends, so you don't really need my recommendation but I wanted to add to the positive reviews for each chapter of this under-appreciated series. This chapter abandons the 'classroom' format of the earlier 3 Academy games, and grows beyond the Harry Potter in the Space Age feeling those sometimes had. Both Maggie and Gail have their storylines, with each one exploring a city and some ships and bases, and trying to solve a variety of puzzles along the way. As always, these are point and click style inventory puzzles, not logic puzzles. There is a lot of dialogue which is interesting if you are invested in the story. There are new characters and some recurring characters become central again. The ending becomes pretty dark, but I won't say more than that. I played through slowly, checking every plant pot and empty crate, so it took me 6 hours. Probably faster for someone who just wants to get through and see what happens. There aren't many spots where it is too difficult to figure out, though there are a couple of random spots where you might not think of the exact thing to do. Overall not too difficult on the scale of point and click games. There is a set-up for further stories in a potential new series but I have no idea if that is planned or not.
This series has the most compelling story I've seen in a video game. I can't recommend it enough. I wish I payed $10 for this, $2 is a steal. If you struggle as much as I did with the finicky gameplay bits, I recommend using an online walkthrough, what you're really playing this for is the amazingly written, character-driven story. The writer builds powerful moments in an meaningful way that producers in Hollywood with 7-figure salaries rarely can. I don't even know what else to say, just buy every game in the series.
I hate anyone who made this game...

I can't believe I missed the launch of this last installment on Steam, I am always eagerly awaiting the next installment of the series. I hope Steam invents a mechanism to have their players track new installments of their existing game library.
It's the latest installment of the Space Pilgrim Academy series, and as always, it doesn't disappoint and leaves you wanting more.
After so many installments I had to search the net and review the story synopses from the beginning, tying some of the characters together after so many installments really helps participating in a reunion.
SPA: Reunion is another delightful entry in the Space Pilgrim Academy series. This is probably my most looked forward to adventure game each year. Like the other episodes, it's a joyous embrace of everything wonderful about space opera.
In this instalment Maggie continues finding out more about her troubled past, while Gail - the hero from the first series - continues her adventures as a school teacher-cum-PI. The dialog is great, and the story never fails to go to interesting, amusing and occasionally dark places.
My one complaint about this series is that because a few months go by between each episode, it's easy to forget some of the story threads that get brought back later on. This game would definitely benefit from a "previously, on Space Pilgrim..." intro, or perhaps an in-game notebook with all the characters to date.
Anyway, that's nothing. Space Pilgrim is great. If you love adventures, get it. If you love sci-fi, get it.
This chapter of the Space Pilgrim saga was no doubt just as amazing as the previous games, and in my opinion the saddest and all-in-all a lot of emotions to take in.
I have followed the saga ever since Space Pilgrim Episode One: Alpha Centauri and seeing all the characters grow is really something. I can't quite explain the feeling, it's a mixture of surprise, amazement, happiness, and sadness.
I certainly hope it is not the end. If anything I think this may be the beginning of Maggie learning more about her abilities and what the future holds for each and every single one of the characters; Gail, Sabina, Amari, Emet, May, Kenrick, etc.
Thank you Pilgrim Adventures for this wonderful saga, and I do hope we will get to see a SPA:Year 4 in the future
So this is the conclusion to at least one of the arcs started in Space Pilgrim Academy: Year One. Based on the dev's notes, he won't be making Year Four for a while... if ever. Seems while he was working on the last four games a lot of concepts have been laying fallow on his desk...
Anyway, the game is a great story, and if you have played the others in the Pilgrim Saga, you will want this one.
Fully recommend.
This game has a really great story and despite it looking like a cheap asset flip, it's totally not.
I had a lot of fun playing it, and i particularly loved the easter eggs, like the name "Molly Gibson".
A worthy but dark ending of a great series.
Recommended.

Overview
Space Pilgrim Academy: Reunion is the fourthand likely final installment of the Space Pilgrim Academy series and eighth overall in the Space Pilgrim Saga. Anyone who has seen the store page already knows that Maggie Dale arrived in the Sun Systems and the title infers there's some sort of "reunion" that occurs. This particular installment in the Space Pilgrim Saga also features a class reunion!
Graphics and Sound
Nothing has changed from Space Pilgrim Academy: Year 3, so this category does not apply to this review.
Positives
Everything that fans of the Space Pilgrim Saga love about the series is back so everyone can expect a great story with memorable quotes and funny moments with the occasional bad pun.

Only in this particular installment, this is the most emotional game ever in the Space Pilgrim Saga, and that's not to mean "sad," because while there is that, Space Pilgrim Academy: Reunion invokes many more extreme feelings. (Some good, some bad.) What the player feels (and the extremes to which they feel it) really has to make the player wonder why the Space Pilgrim Saga is still an indie game made by a handful of people when it should be made by a AAA publisher with millions of dollars poured into it's development.
Given some of the scenes, particularly in Maggie's visions Space Pilgrim Academy: Reunion is probably an amazing experience if the player happens to be watching those scenes while the player is under the influence of certain substances known to amplify visions. (Particularly some leafy substances, or even the inspiration for the song Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.)
For the first time in the history of the Space Pilgrim Saga, quotes are used at the beginning of every chapter, and the quotes recited are excellent mood-setters, and will hopefully be a feature in future games in the Space Pilgrim Saga.
Negatives
It's easy to just say that this category does not apply to Space Pilgrim Academy: Reunion, but the author must try and grasp for straws to find faults anyway... For starters, trading cards aren't making a comeback, which is obvious given the lack of demand for cards from the Space Pilgrim Episodes. (If someone wants to get a level five badge for four different games for really cheap, the player can do that. The player should also remember that Steam users do not have to own a game just to collect cards for those games!)
Like all games in the Space Pilgrim Saga, the player needs to be one of the chosen few that was granted the magical powers to upload screenshots to games that do not support the Steam overlay. (Or are these powers not magical, and were instead planted into the brains of Steam users by Marion Dale?)
Given how nobody sought to ask REXCurse to conduct an official review, that really sucks. (Although it may be that this author is known to be a loyal fan of the Space Pilgrim Saga and was going to buy the game anyway!)
Being the apparent end of the Space Pilgrim Academy series, it doesn't appear that the player will be able to play Maggie through year four of her days as a cadet, which means no interesting classes, and the player doesn't get to experience Maggie's learning of marksmanship and solo starship piloting first hand.
Conclusion
This author swears on his four level five Space Pilgrim Episodes badges and four corresponding foil badges that the ulterior motive of this review was not to satisfy Steam's algorithm so that the achievements earned in the game officially count towards the player's profile for achievements! Instead, a friend of the author wanted a review, so the friend gets a review. Only it seems like blasphemy that the friend hasn't played a game in the Space Pilgrim Saga since Space Pilgrim Episode IV!
Nominated by ol' Il Pallino for The Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award in 2019, this is anything but a biased decision. No better story in a game was experienced on Steam. Once the player finishes this game, they'll be desperately waiting for the newest story arc. (Which will most likely be 2021.)

Another excellent installment of the series. The dialogues are on point, the characters endearing and the puzzles, while not overly challenging, keep the story going. This game proves you don't need 3D graphics to make a game worth playing. Although it would definitely deserve an upgrade, it's quite great just as it is, and the price/value ratio is higher than any game I've ever played. Hopefully we'll see many more. Buy it and gift it away.
Incredible conclusion (I'm assuming) to the series. Really do hope there will be more though.
