Am I playing a game or watching a movie
like the game a lot, but on xbox they need to do a lot of work for it. on xbox i got half way through chapter 1 and it just stutters and lags so bad i couldnt play it, but i got it for PC and now im in chapter 4, so its a lot better then what i had to deal with before. also just realized i had 69 hours on this game so kudos to fate and destiny for the hours play.
I played 5 previous sao games, I did not expect much from this title. I just wanted it to be on the same level as the previous entries or better.
I finished 2 chapters and they were an absolute slog. The amount of dialogues and cutscenes is beyond ridicilous.
The combat is lame you can only have 4 active skills and 4 weapon skills equipped along with 4 passives.
I'm asking myself why I even bother playing coz it's not fun at all, so far it felt like a waste of time and I just want it to be over.
Even if the game opens up and gets fun after the campaign the mental torture is just not worth it.
Will I finish it? Maybe
But it will be the last sao game that I buy.
The first chapter was a little long, but it's basically a rehash of the entire Alicization story arc, from Kirito landing in Underworld to getting into the tower. So it's understandable that it was so long.
After that, the game is a little less cinematic and the game really opens up. The combat system is pretty cool and the scenery is great. Very much enjoying the single player aspect -- haven't even tried to get into multiplayer yet.
Very buggy game and the brightness changes when moving the camera rendering it unplayable only because it is extremely distracting. If there is any advice to help eliminate that issue then comments are welcome.
Played this game for an hour. I've seen the anime from start to finish so I thought this would be a cool game to try. Bought it and now I regret buying it. There are more cutscenes and clicking "X" (or "ENTER) on those "info" boxes that pop up for basically no reason. I know they're for players that have no idea what to do in these types of games etc., but they're straight up annoying. The only "gameplay" is killing random monsters while you run to a "checkpoint"???????? Would'nt recommend to anyone that plays RPG Action games. I probably wont reach even mid game, cause the start is so boring. Everything in this seems like a chore. And it looks like a game that HAD great potential to be awesome. Graphics are cool, controls are good. Everything seems good and polished, but the "gameplay" (cutscenes and "X" ("ENTER") pressing for an hour)... Yeah, no.
Amazing game, beat it 3 times on console. Saw it on steam and just had to try the PC version, didn't disappoint.
The intro is too boring, even with the lightplay option, it's still not over, and I'm just completely bored after 2,5h...
I know you want to full dive. You will some day but this is not it. They also f*ked up the story and forget about multiplayer until you beat the 15 hour campaign. Combat is not that bad, if you desperately need an SAO game, you can probably pick it up on sale. It mildly satisfied me, and probably will you.
Trash game. The majority of the dialogue is still pictures and no English dub variant either. Game mechanics very lack-luster and confusing.

Overall another great SAO game, its very large and has a crazy amount of content to be honest.

If you put time into this, it is quite enjoyable. While sometimes the quests are a bit too much, the main roster quests are quite refreshing. Yes the loading screens are a good portion of the game but overall a good game. Don't trust the hate

2 - With the point of 15% of your total gameplay time being loading screens, anyone with 100+ hours on this is definitely not a normal person.
3 - If you don't have IT, don't buy IT. If you have playtime >2 hours, refund it. I'm warning you for your good, this game is a scam.

The bug is too much... IDK if they are going to even patch for 60$ this isn't worth it.
If you enjoy SAO and lore then id recommend it.
Another solid $5 game. Loading screens are a bit long but story and combat are good.

I do like this game quite a lot. It is heavily focused on story and reading text for hours rather than doing combat. The combat is also quite nice. Overall 6.5/10 game. Story is nice and first dlc story was really good.

BY FAR THE WORST THING IN THE SAO FRANCHISE....if you value your money n dont want to waste it or your time on shit do not buy this i have every bit of content for this game n regret every penny which is a shame because i love the franchise but you guys should be ashamed of yourselves for producing absolute shit...
on sale for under 20 its worth it i guess if you love SAO but honestly every game is the same they have really bad combat that isnt really fluid at all its all a major grind for bs i keep buying each new game hoping for better but really they all kind of suck the only one i really liked so far was an english translate patch for the first psp game and re hollow or w.e the one with premiere was loved season one up to like ep6 its been down hill since

I went from Fatal bullet to Alicization Lycoris, and I'm just disapointed in this first fight
Like, the game feels so slow compared to FB...
I feel like it's running 30fps despite the fact i turned that setting off and the rest of the settings were set to the max i could get them!
The game also looks so much worse!
Like dear god... this is a downgrade from 2018.
The combat is just so slow feeling, like you aren't doing anything besides casually swinging the sword! No impact or anything and it takes forever for skills to launch!
And that's just from the first tutorial fight!
The models look so fucking out of place with the rest of the world, and the game is buggy as all hell!
WHY IS THIS 80$ CAD, THIS NOT WORTH FULL PRICE.

Why the hell did we add Animated 2d Dating sim dialouge things? What the hell!?
If you aren't playing on Normal diffculty, the game's bosses are just a SLOG to get through. They have so much health that despite having what could be considered "Avrage" gear that isn't power leveled to the 9's, I'm kinda screwed in that I can't do shit aginst the bosses besides sit there for an hour killing a singular story boss.
THE FINALE BOSS, YOU HAVE TO FIGHT IT LIKE, 7 BLOODY TIMES! IN A ROW, BECUASE YOU GET IT TO HALF HP AND THEN IT RESETS TO MAX, LIKE 7 TIMES!
