Good fun. It's like curling, but with obstacles.
As a 2D minigolf lover, this game was fun for a while. The idea of getting points by bouncing off the outer walls of a level is a fun mechanic that gives levels a lot of replayability as I try to get to the top of the leaderboard in each level by using 2 shots.
However, it seems the best strategy is often the same: just zig-zag as much as possible and then attempt to hit the center of the circle. Hitting walls actually increases the speed of the ball a tiny bit so you also get more distance by zig-zagging (which gives more points).
Walls are a buggy mess that sometimes send you to a random direction which becomes very irritating in levels with tight corridors. The level design is also quite uninteresting and it just feels like the designer slapped some shapes in and called it a level.
So in each level getting high score just requires you to zig-zag a ton and maybe get a lucky buggy bounce off a wall. Not fun.
Nice and simple game to play once in a while while maybe doing something else or listening to music etc. Won't use much resources, can nicely keep it running on the background. I like the windowed-mode which doesn't take the whole screen, which in my opinion is not required for a game like this.
A fresh way to play a kind-of-a-golf-like-game. You can implement strategies on how to create the best score since the score is accumulated through gaining distance and wall bounces. With single shots you get 2x multiplier as well as with when you score the ball inside the inner hole. Because of this and the leaderboard, this has a nice competitive aspect to it.
However the game (elements, tracks) is quite simple which hinders the ability to really push the gameplay higher, the competitive aspect of it and invent more advanced strategies. There's not that much variety regarding elements or in the tracks themselves. For example special elements like water, sand etc or something else could be pretty cool. Every track is played in 2 shots (or hole-in-ones) so they are short. 90 tracks in total + survival mode which generates tracks automatically.
Sometimes there's this one bug which annoys me: the ball can bounce from a straight wall in a way that it's not meant to, to a different direction that it is supposed to go. The survival mode could get harder faster imo, I played 18 tracks to it and the tracks had max 2 obstacles to surpass to get the goal.
Overall I would recomment this game to anyone really; not only is it cheap but there really is potential to it. I do like it, even while hoping it would have more to it.
Very interesting gameplay mechanic for this kind of game! Great way to spend idle time between stuff.
