Really good game the bones are there i hope they keep adding more and more to it
It is the game that I was waiting. Great game. I would like to give my wishes:
1. We should design our cars, pieces and motors.
2. We should decide which car can have that piece or motor. So the replayability would be great.
3. The car can leave the factory with mechanical problems and the buyer can return to ask for another one and your reputation will fall.
4. More marketing options and create a greatest car brand buying another brands (like Volswagen).
5. Brand marketing, not just a model marketing.
6. Sell cars over the whole world.
7. Make the game bigger, with more options, cars, pieces, motors, designs, etc.
I love the game and I'm sure that it will be better in the future.
A fun management game that allows you to take a trip through time as you manufacture American cars through the 20th Century. The automation update adds longevity to the game. This game has lots of potential and I am excited for future developments.
Good game. Needs some tuning, but it's got good bones.
It has the potential to be like the Car Tycoon. But it's not, still a good game, I recommend it.
Early Access Game review: I've been playing the game for a week now and it has some things i like and things i don't.
I really like the building of the factory and the different aspects of researching and selling the cars. Building and figuring out how to maximize the flow of the assembly lines. It seems it has a good supply of cars that comes into the game.
Things i don't like about the game. Right off is the limited amount of space that can be used. With so many games, i like that i can gain access to additional space but even with that it maxes out really quickly, i would like to be able to build as big as i want. The next thing is the game employee count, it maxes out at 100 total employees but if you want to run multiple large assembly lines there's just not enough workers to carry the goods to keep the lines with parts. Most often you have to sacrifice in Research, Sales, Mechanics, and drivers. It seems the game wants you to train current employees which is supposed to make them more efficient. The researchers, sales seem to improve. I don't see a big improvement in the parts carriers. I should be able to hire as many as i want and play however i want. For example if i want 50 1 star parts carriers instead of 25 5 star carriers i should be able to do that without sacrificing other areas. 3rd thing i don't like, the zoom in and zoom out. It would be great if it had the detail of something like Cities and Skylines but at least give us zoom out enough to see the whole map. 4th thing, as with everything it seems in this game, the sales area is limited at only 6 slots. So really you can't build more than 6 different cars and expect to sell them at one time. Again, if i want 20, why can't i have 20? 5th thing, the robots. It's good that the robots cost so much, it keeps the game moving and gives you a goal. What is not good is that after you've spent all the money and time on buying the robots, setting them up, spending money to supply parts....they just stop working. It's either something that isn't explained or it's a bug. The only way i've found to fix it is to sell and rebuild but sometimes a line will only produce 4-5 cars sometimes 20-25 cars but at some point they go down. Some have said they get overloaded with parts, but if you set it to only 1 part capacity it goes back to my #2 problem, not enough employees to fill the parts to keep it running. The last thing, once you've bought all the levels...you really have nothing else to do other than change the cars on the lines. That goes back to #1 that you can't keep expanding your factory after a certain point.
Final thought, I know it's early access, but is this game being limited to PC because it could be too restricted for consoles capacity? I may only be speaking for myself, but i paid for a gaming PC to get away from the restrictions of consoles. All that being said, at this time if you want a game that is fairly simply and can complete to it's max in a short period of time this is it, if you're looking for a game to play and continue growing building, this is not it.
fun little game thus far. really excited that they have plans to introduce the ability to design your own custom cars to manufacture. please don't stop working on this game. loving it.
Car Manufacturer is an engaging and addictive game with a unique concept, though still in early access. While the gameplay starts strong with exciting upgrades and features, late-game progression feels stagnant after unlocking the Jeep. Performance issues, particularly severe lag with 80+ workers, can hinder the experience. Despite these drawbacks, it has great potential with future updates to address balancing, AI optimization, and late-game content.
TLDR; Great concept, but needs a lot of work to be playable.
Don't get me wrong, the concept of this game is amazing. I really like a lot of things about it, and at its core, it has great potential. However, there are things about the game that I just can't recommend to other people in good conscience. I know that the game isn't complete yet (which is understandable), but there have been two instances now where things are going great, I save and quit, then when I come back the game tells me that it's "unstable" and that I can no longer play on that save file. This is frankly heartbreaking, as I really like this game and I want to see it succeed in the future. The game could also do with some heavy optimization, as no gaming laptop should struggle with a factory/base builder game on medium graphic settings. If the devs keep working on this game, I can see myself easily picking it back up. But now? I just can't.
It does feel kinda bare bones at the moment but I like the concept and the steps the game has taken are already improving on it. What I mean is the game is kinda fast and easy to get through ATM but where getting there👍
Game is pretty fun, can't wait to see (or hope to see) the finished product!
like the game but would like for the starting more starting money
A good car tycoon game for the average tycoon fan that covers in great detail manufacturing cars. Appears to have a lot of continued development as well.
i like the game but for some reason my sales men are idle and have stopped selling cars and now im in the hole like 70000 and they will not start working. i have 2 full lots of cars plus i had to stop all my productions because they are not selling cars.
The developers started working on it again. this is GREAT
the game is a lot of fun
easy to play, fun, can run in the back round earning you money.
I like the game alot however please fix the research I should not be researching a WW2 jeep in 1905
As of current state, game is unplayable. You cannot make money because the chance of a person thinking your sales rep is unprofessional is way to high, my last play through, every 4th person would buy a car. The game is just not fun at this point, and hope it is improved on in the future.
ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING MANUFACTURER SIM!!!
It blends some really great tycoon concepts together to maker a really amazing game to play.
Yes it is in early alpha and some features are not out yet, but still lots of fun, even at its current state.
The production Line is a much better game, and that has been dead for years now. it's nice that the game starts in 1885 and the early game aspects of the game, but after that it's just downhill. The tutorial and in game help is just terrible.
The UI doesn't scale with the "levels" of the game. The early game is great, middle OK and end is just terrible. The same rules for employees that work with 10 people doesn't scale well to a 100 people. The UI also has the same problem and the production line as well. the detailed control you can get is great when setting it up for the first time, but when you have to re do the same thing for 40 different control points each time you change car, which you do quite often in later parts it just gets stupid. why spend 20 min changing all your robots just to have them run for 15 min before you need to change them again later. Needs a lot more QoL as research for later game. And lastly the performance doesn't scale either, super laggy in late game. Maybe worth a revisit in a few years.....
TL;DR Don't buy, wait some time for more QOL and content.
Best I would give a neutral review. But why I give negative?
1. Too much micromanagement. When you have bigger lines, managing shipments for whole production line is terrible, my fingers and eyes are screaming in pain!!!
2. Not much to do after you get how it works. I got all possible things buyout before 1900, onyl things left is trains staff and wait for researchers to finish new projects, and then again micromanagement of new vehicles...
3. There are things in game that are not implemented. I know it is early access, but if you see "Stairs", and you waste time to trying to find a way to unlock... If something is not in the game, there should not be indicators, or clear that it is in development (few things got that, so why not in all "in development cases?).
Game in general is fun, hope I would be able to change it to positive when more work and QOL will be done.
Good fun game with an interesting concept, i enjoy it alot
that being said i've noticed several issues but it is only in early access
the main things ive noticed are :
once you have 80 workers your game lags severely even on a system with great specs
you can have 8 robotic arms on each assembly platform but only 1 does any work
transporters will only give 1 robotic arm on each platform supplies
even with an abundance of transporters (over 20) that have high skills they still dont really stock whats needed where its needed
the fast forward function is great except if you have over 80 workers in which case speed 3 is actually slower than speed 2 purely because of the lag in game
you can sell cars for the maximum price without any regret, theres no reason to sell cheap cars as even with a 400% markup on price they still sell faster than you can make them
i look forward to future updates on this game and hope to see it imporved
It's a good foundation for a fun game but at the moment it's missing any sort of a challenge.
Few bits of feedback without going into spoilers:
The AI is weird - the workers go everywhere randomly
Dunno if the worker level does anything
Most of the factory components are obsolete shortly after you get them
There's no feedback on the cars you make and sell
No known competition to make the game a bit more economy focused
Car's can be priced however you like with no repercussions
Storage (spare parts) management is lacking - you gotta adjust parts you're purchasing each time you change the type of car you're making and sell the unused parts by hand, gets more and more tedious as you go into robotics
The shaded parking is making the cars too difficult to see, would be better if it was just tinted glass
Research progression should be more realistic, I reached the end of the research tree by 1910 without rushing it, I unlocked almost every blueprint. On a similar note, would be nice to be able to continue researching after the end of the tree is reached to unlock anything that was skipped along the way
All in all it's a good foundation, hopefully as more content is added in it'll be even more fun.
fun game
Tutorial needs a lot of work. Feels rushed and under cooked.
This game is good, but I think in the future you can add more interesting content to this game.
and also now this game is too easy for me.
make a rebalance to the price of assembly robots probably around $200,000, so players will feel the struggle
step by step to upgrade to a more modern production in this game or you can create a difficulty mode for players who want to play this game casually
love the game except for the crashing part. i might get 2 hours of game play or 15 mins. hopefully the devs get this fixed cause its annoying. i know its early access so they still have bugs to work out. I do recommend this game however be prepared for it to crash on you. Maybe others have not had this issue but i have. The game runs smooth and then it will freeze and crash.
I like this game because it gives you an insight on how people built cars. Also, you can choose to start in what time period you want. Overall I recommend this game.
Car Manufacturer is a fun and addicting game with a lot of potential, but it's still in early access, which shows as you progress. The gameplay loop is engaging at first, especially as you unlock new features and upgrades. However, once you unlock the Jeep, it feels like the drive to continue playing stalls. The tech progression ends because you have likely unlocked everything, which dampens the excitement. The game also struggles with performance issues; late-game lag can get pretty intense, making it tough to enjoy all your hard work. Overall, it’s a great concept that could become truly amazing with some tweaks and polish in future updates.
too hard for me...
Game have great potential, but it needs balancing. Currently you can research everything before 1900. So robots and never cars on 1900 is highly unrealistic.
Interesting concept, needs some work with features and bugs, active devs adding features on the regular.
The game is worth to spend time and I hope the game will improve by the time, yes its EARLY ACCESS GAME, but its very playable. Especially the instruction are very clear.
Keep the Good work !!!
Decent game for what they got finished so far, had a few hours of fun with it. Game is quite easy, was able to 'Win' first attempt and unlocked everything other then car blueprints. Since it is early access there are a few things that are not finished yet and its nicely tells you it is in development is if it not available yet. Having a limit on amount of areas you can build and how many things on each kinda sucks (Even when fully unlocked) for the amount of space i had on Chicago, i had way to much room an wasn't able to fill in the whole area. Progress is slightly slow like in 9 hours i only got to year 1922 from the lowest possible year start date. Great start, cannot wait to see where this game goes, deff worth a try!
The game is kind of goodish, but:
-There is no real challenge, the only difficulty is when you get a bit overexcited and spend a bit more money than you intended
- The AI is lacking (or maybe it is for me). Workers go to break rooms for no apparent reason, or just walk around idle randomly around the site. That is, they have lots of tasks to do, motivation, happiness and fatigue on 100%. Drivers, who have one job, wander around the buildings in the sales office, storage spaces and as a result the production line is stuck, losing money left and right (is it a bug?). Sales office full of potential customers, sales agents go on break, because why not. Also, the number of sales agents doesn't seem to matter: only 1 or 2 is performing their jobs, customers get bored/unhappy/impatient and leave
- Every once in a while there is a message that this and that worker is unprofessional, but I didn't find any ways to "amend" it. Send them to training? they are on training constantly, they are max level, but still get the complaint
- From time to time I get a this place is depressing comment. Is there a way to make it less depressing? Indoor plants and decoration other than posters and coffee machine would be nice. There are bushes and trees for the yard, though.
- What's with the robots? they just refuse to work (yes, they are supplied sufficiently) from time to time, stalls the production line, have to turn them of and tell the mechanics to get the material from the pallets
I'm optimistic and I still recommend it, hoping that the devs fix these and maybe include some additional goodies too.
Do NOT buy this game. At least not as of time of this writing. After playing a few hours, (beyond the time I could get a refund) I discovered the game has SERIOUS balance issues. It's not fun. You can't make much progress before going bankrupt. Or, you can shut bankruptcy off, but that doesn't do anything more than keep the game from ending while you watch your debt skyrocket. It will go deep into the red and you can never afford to build anything else. It's an abandoned project as far as I can tell right now. MANY people on the discussions page talk about the dev's silence and also have several other games in EA status right now too. So this seems like a company that simply cranks out EA forever cash grab titles. I do not believe this will get any updates for years to come, if at all. DON'T BUY!
I Highly recommend this game! However, at the moment the game is unplayable as it has a excess amount of bugs in the game which cripple its playability do not buy this game until the bugs have been fixed
Good game still needs improvements
100 workers are too few to a factory and the robotic assembly lines in 1800s is too wired u should put this tech after 1950s and the optimization is also poor u should fix these
this game is promising
The game had good promise, but hasn't really delivered much of anything since launch. Small tweaks and fixes, but nothing in the way of a roadmap about what the game will become or what changes or additions are planned. The development seems slow and somewhat stale. It's been 4 weeks since last patch and that's an EA game.
The gameplay is surface deep, it is fun initially, until you're past the point where you can return it, thus I kept playing. But building, researching market conditions, penetrating into markets, car design, components, engines, ... basically all the complexity that is the auto industry is gone. The production line is too simple and all of the game play is like this.
The game needs a vision beyond "build cars in a factory". They should have a vision statement that says something like "Become the car tychoon of the early 20th century and hand over to the next generation" and then let something like the individual tychoon impact both the timelines, the R&D, the development of the market, and then the markting of the game. Other competitors are unknown and you're building towards a market that you don't know anything about (nothing about economic up- or downswings, marketing research, paradigm shifts in the tech, etc etc.)
I like it, helps kill time!
It's a fun game, contains elements of strategy and thinking when maximising your production output. I've enjoyed speed running to the end of the research tree. Looking forward to how this game progresses through updates!
This game has great potential but, and that is a big BUT:
- changing production lines is tedious
- managing 100 employees has to be done for every indivdual; how about grouping and setting salary and training fpr whole groups?
- there is no goal to play to. starting in 1885 the game is won by 1895 (including robotic production lines).
- the research needs to be intensified. How about the amount of storage of robots can be improved? And Speed? How about the introduction of robotics is restricted to 1960s and later? How about a researchable delivery upgrade instead of 80 workers carrying stuff by hand?
- research is too fast too easy and no challenge
- I never was able to not fulfill the demand. The demand is also not very price driven.
- Why limit the number of emplyees? Especially in a car company in 1885.
- Also limits: Why is the number of models for sale limited? If it is a performance problem then this needs to be fixed.
- Also there are problem when having a full parking lot - drivers always pick up the car from the same produtction line instead of round-robin selection. A kind of logic for production lines (stop if x cars are in stock) would be great and solve the problem.
- I also miss an extra-fast forward button.
All in all I like the concept of the game and in the current state as early access it is quite playable and fun. Also there are quite a few elements not implemented yet, so there is hope for more. Happy to wait for updates!
An assembly line game where everyone even the robots take a smoke break after every action.
The game surrounding the assembly line mechanic seems both vague and shallow too. I don't really see what you gain from upgrading most employees, or what point there is to build one car over another other than the parts/steps required.
Also, you can build cars from the 1930s and have robots in 1898.
I really want to like this game and for the first few hours I did. The balance seems off though. I have played about 10 hrs and I have unlocked the whole tech-tree. It's around 1905 and I have a fully robotic plant and I am making cars that came out around 1950-60. And even looking past the flawed time there just isn't much left to do in the game.
Why is every part carried by hand from outside into the factory? Not even carts or trucks? Why is there no competition with other car manufacturers? It feels almost impossible to fail.
I do love the idea and look but time flow and some fundamental game mechanics are just off.
To the devs.... in 1914 ford was making 1 car every hour and a half... not 1 car in 35 days. This should be addressed as well as the fact that today 1000 cars come off 1 line a day now. Also will there be a way to assign transporters to lines? and can we get more that 100 workers? Good game so far, the frame are bad as you get more workers though.
So the Demo was bare bones but promised 'full version' locked features, gave it a punt and regretted it more than most things on here, and this girl bought Towns before refunds were a thing :/
There's all of ten minutes in the gameplay loop, the assets are so pregen-heavy they-re doing weird stuff like flossing and air guitar, and there is no QoL to speak of (can't even rename lines, so every tweak iterates on the number)
I *want* this to actually develop as there's no real factory game where you can just Arsenal of Democracy your way through the markets, but at this point it's really about as fun as cystitis.
This game has great potential. As of writing this it is in a very early stage (as advertised) and I did not have any technical issues which is quite surprising, but the mechanics/content is limited. I'll finish optimizing my factory the next couple of hours and then I'm looking forward for future updates to this game.
p
one of the best simulation games i have ever player.
