great game, but lack of space/car parking is an issue. Really needs a larger map.
It crap nothing seems to be working...logistic...sales...bankrupt...micro manage everything...waste of time. Nothing makes any sence.
Simple as you want, complex as you want, in depth or easy... an amazingly well designed game
the game have bad money balance
The game is decent for an early access but pretty easy to beat. I would also say it lacks depth in the form of competition or purpose for the company. You can force a loss by over spending at points in the game prior to setting up efficient assemble lines. Cars also sell very easily so no point in color change or cycling to newer models much. Seems trends and other elements are not really active at this point, drivers have no way to be increased in level, and robotic arms are pretty limited in storage. Initial start of game focuses on mechanics heavily but this can be offset later by robots. Transport has no offset currently so you will have adjust labor resources later in game due to limits of 100 workers. Still little change to basic game or purpose right now other then playing with the game, several elements are still in development so has potential to turn out well.
Overview in short:
Great tycoon game with huge development potential that is struggling with bugs and broken mechanics(pun intended). I can think of a dozen ways of how this game could be improved.
Detail description:
The game was very satisfying for me to play and watch something build from the ground up. Something new in the genre. The whole development process, factory planning etc was pleasurable. Being able to set up everything in detail on the production line grants nice sense of control.
The pleasure of this game is unfortunately diminished by the bugs and broken mechanics(pun intended).
I was able to finish the free roam option in about 11hrs ,which is a bit short, without completing every research option. Why you may ask? Well it turns out that when you complete your final main research tier you can't research the sub categories so well...
The economy of a game is struggling a bit. At first I was afraid to ramp up the price tag but when I noticed that level 10-15 salesman has no problems selling cars for 250-350% price I finally started to make some real money. Speaking of sales -> at the beginning it was hard to find enough customers to buy my cars, I had my parking full with cars with no one to buy them. When they finally showed up they still walked away with "This place is depressing". No luck trying to find the information anywhere on how to deal with it. Once I leveled up the salesmen the issue seemed to be gone.
There is almost no incentive to sell newer cars, they rarely offer greater income and the production cost balance is not great. There is one car that should have very little parts and be cheap. Its production costs are greater then other luxurious car.
I was also expecting for cars to have increasingly more parts they require but the part number kept steady at around 40-50 parts.
Production lines and transporters.
Managing your employees is really a frustrating hustle.
I quickly switched to robots as soon as possible so the only problem I had was with transporters not being able to fill out the required part orders in time. 3 production lines, each with 10 assembly stations and 50 transporters -> still could not get them to work all at the same time without stoppage.
For the game that focuses on assembling cars I ditched mechanics as soon as I could. I only had 2 mechanics to repair broken machines... Perhaps introduction of warranty and warranty claims with separate service department could help here?
Its nice that you can train your employees and manage their paycheck but with regards to transporters and drivers it doesn't seem to do much. I tried checking if transporter at level 10 would do the job quicker or be less tired than lvl3 -> did not notice much change. It would be nice to have some more details when training an employee which stats are increasing like speed, resilience etc.
Obviously there are more issues with the game but they don't ruin the experience so no point in mentioning it yet.
I do recommend the game but I can see so many ways to improve it, and I hope that the developers will dive in and add/correct things.
Great game recommended
Game is really challenging at start. You have to be very careful at first or you'll go bankrupt. If you can survive long enough to get the research mostly done, training up to at least lvl10 for everyone, and your factory up to 5 lines with 4 stations each... you can make a profit.
It is not an easy game. But it is extremely rewarding once you get that last property expansion and robotics going.
So having played this for most of the weekend, I have to say this game does have a bit of a curve. If you're ambitious, learn patience with this game. While this is still early access and a few bugs and later pieces are yet to be fixed and added, this is still a very fun game. The game took some learning to get a hold on building a successful factory, but you can't expand too quickly or you'll go bankrupt even faster. Just like real life everything takes time and you have to find a good production balance. Overall I am very impressed with this game and will continue to play and see what the full game and future holds.
This game's task dispatch system, currently operating on a first-come, first-served basis, needs improvement. This leads to inefficiencies; distant workers are assigned tasks while nearby idle workers are available. The system should incorporate distance into task assignments, dynamically reassigning tasks when a closer worker becomes free.
The game's current limitations prevent it from progressing beyond the mid-game stage. Robots remain idle due to a lack of parts, and cars are stuck at the factory exit. Drivers, instead of immediately taking the nearest repaired car, are assigned cars requiring extensive travel, leading to further delays. This results in a frustrating and ultimately unsuccessful gameplay experience.
Lots of fun. Easy game mechanics.
To be blunt, this game leans a bit more towards being a playable 'tech demo' than an actual game. Yes, I understand it's in Early Access, but at the time of this review (Feb 22 2025) there is still a way to go towards a finished product. I am not saying that to knock the game, rather I think it is important for people to keep these points in mind when looking at this title. Fortunately, what does exist is pretty good and largely works well.
I came across this game watching a YouTuber play it, and it appealed to my 'tycoon' side. I'm an industrial automation engineer in my day job, so I can really get in to games like this where you set up production lines and queue up products and research. The ingame systems work reasonably well, although I would love to see more information communicated to the player. Some ingame systems aren't all that spectacular, but still functional. The AI that does pathfinding for your mechanics, for example, makes some pretty dubious decisions.
Another fleshing out I would like to see is about sales data. Fortunately, the devs do have a placeholder page where it looks like one will be able to drill down into specific details, so I expect it will really just be a matter of time. I just hope the update cycles aren't too long as it is easy to see how this will be an addictive game.
I've been playing this game for like 3 days now, bought it way before this review, when it was on discount.
Overall this is a nice game, my only problem is that it took ~ 4 years to achieve this state and its still not finished unfortunately (probably a covid project).
I'm used to this now, but I was there 3,000 years ago, when developers released finished products.
The idea is very nice, the graphics are nice, the rules are clear the gameplay is fun even in this state, so it would be a 10/10! If it would be finished ever.
I hope the developer changes it's mind and builds up a team soon, because this game has a great potential.
Anyway I recommend this, support the dev.
Firstly it would be required to make a statement about the fact that as a early access title this game has a few balancing issues that the developer is taking onboard (read the news section on the store page and update pages) however even with this taken into account there is plenty on offer in the games current state.
The already extensive list of automobiles you can research in this game is impressive and its very rewarding to advance through the eras unlocking and building each new car. With this comes a certain satisfication increased by the fact each vehicle requires a different layout on your production lines.
And that is this games appeal...
setting up the assembly process and getting them perfected to create cars is what makes this game., There is a lot of viewing to be had playing this game rather than interaction on a level that some gamers will dislike and speed run through the game which in my humble view is a waste.
with patience and discipline you can find a deeper game by not giving into the temptation of such actions as increasing the price to 400% profit margins (and/or) hiring forty staff members to rush the research tree to completion.
Overall this is down to the fact that most of the management side of the games mechanics are not implemented in the current early access version, which results in having no interaction as you gain a foothold on the games current content.
as it continues development this should ease.
Addicted and cant wait for more updates, Highly Recommended Title.
Pretty good game. Great layout and easy to play. It would be great if you could play with modern-day cars. Also, include diagnostic testing and the ability to upgrade parts. An exploded diagram of the working combustion engine would help with breakdowns. The ability to research and invent new parts would also be a great addition. In-game customer feedback on performance and what the current demand is. So, for example, if you build a car from 1885, some customers may want a vehicle based on the same but with a pickup bed for the average farmer, say. This game has so much potential!
This game has potential, but there is quite a bit still to build out. If I could give an 'in between' thumb I would.
The element of 'time passing' changing consumer demands is somewhat missing. Also, the mechanics around models offered and sales needs work and transparency. It's hard to play when you have a lot of one model about and not selling, but have no clue as to why.
I'd wait some months to see if this game develops further.
Great Production game, still a little bit buggy, but now making some stunning cars and profitable, though the initial start up is quite testing and going bankrupt is easy..
Absolutely love where this is going. I understand that at the time of writing this game is in Alpha. Some notes for devs:
The bright colored boxes to signify what zone something is is very unimmersive. Like bright blue parking spots was a weird one.
The scaling or prices need to be scaled way up. After beginning to sell only my second discovered car I realised I could charge up to %350 for each car no problem. After this each upgrade only cost 1 or 2 cars of selling. After only 4 hours I had all robots running the factory. I fired my crew and had the entire tech tree unlocked.
It's not clear what the quality of worker does. They never seem to mess up and after unlocking the scanner and repair workshop it doesn't seem to matter. I also noticed that no worker is an "individual" in that every worker is virtually identical. If you pay all level 2s $14 they will be happy and motivated no matter what. No random incompetencies or wage demands. So when picking your hires just pick the level you want and adjust to 14, 18, 24 for lvl 2, 3, 4. When upgrading a worker they will instantly just require the same preset income.
But mostly getting away with %350 for every car, pretty consistently, is kind of OP and game breaking making most of the upgrades unnecessary.
It would be interesting to have an option to be part of the negotiations for sales or even return disgruntled buyers and having to smooth things over for your publicity. Just a side thought.
Really love this game and concept. I am excited to see how it evolves and will check in periodically with the updates.
I recommend it as it is now because I did really enjoy playing and was disappointed when I really couldn't do any more only 4 hours in.
I really dig this so far. I love simulators and this just keeps my good sims streak going! Way to go!!
I get that it's early access but the game is unplayable and completely broken! First play through and the drivers stop parking cars on a specific line. Cars just sit there and stack up with no way to fix it, you lose money and go bankrupt. Latest update doesn't say anything about fixing game ending bugs like this so the developer seems to be unaware his game is a dumpster fire.
Seems like a lot of work has went into this already and is a pretty fun game. Just needs some QOL and minor bug fixes and I will be happy.
Need more advanced or smart managment system ( need rail for material and building )
Need more detail and graphic ( animation , bug )
Need more cars and stats or event ( new era cars and new feeding poster ( New company released etc )
This game has the sauce and it's very fun if you like building and clicking, but it's just too early along right now. There's very little going on outside of those two things, and many of the processes are poorly explained. I'm keen to stick around and see how it goes! But even as a more basic sim management game it lacks any form of strategy beyond optimisation
you have to love cars and sales ... it is fun
still waiting for anyupdate on the game.. currently satisfy with the early access content. looking forward how the game evolve in the full game launch
Güzel oyun iyi oyun ama çok yavaş lan
It's early access, a pleasing gameplay loop. A bit of a simple factory builder, though thats most likely due to the game still being developed. Some things I'm hoping to be added is
- More space
- More diagnostic/statistical information/ graphs to break down more individual components
- And a blueprint design, or maybe an easier way to change a line to a different model? it is tedious when all you want to do is change the model and you must click each storage area for each assembler
this is a bad, game. very ordinary play style, very boring.
With this game being on my wishlist since 2019, I was really hoping for a good title. All you do is build a small factory, research the next car and switch your assemblies to the next car.. The pace of progress is constant (slow) and there's really no way to improve business processes without sinking considerable resources into Robotics.
Nice simple instructions. Finished the tutorial. Its a nice game. Runs smoothly. And has clear instructions. cant wait to see what updates hold in the future.
This game has so many fun and creative aspects. It would nice to have more customization options for the vehicle designs themselves, but it almost balances out with how many different vehicles you can produce.
A Nice, chilling game, but I think it needs more details. Overall I really recommend the game.
cheese
steam Workshop btw sips love car manufacture as well its https://www.twitch.tv/sips_
Click - click - click - click - Click - click - click - click- Click - click - click - click-Click - click - click - click-Click - click - click - click... This is what you do 95% of the time, clicking the same boxes, the same robots, salaries, education, advertisement.... just clicking and clicking... 5 min of game play watcing cars being produced, filling up the parking lots and then... everything grinds to a hold! Why? No one knows! robots running out of parts even with 100 transporters, 50 drivers walking idle around doing absolutely nothing! 20 salemen of which 18 are idle and keeping the drivers company. Of 200 employees, aprox. 30 are working, so it doesent matter if you have 6 lines/20 stalls and producing all the cars in the world... your workers will do their jobs whenever they feel they are up to it.
All your planning and optimizing are absolutely 0 worth, because the game is utterly out of balance.... and all the f"#¤¤%& CLICKING! You click the same over and over and over again, with the only result that everything slowly grinds to a halt.
Fun game for 2h45m and then it´s over. I really doubt that the DEVS played their game because NO gamer should be exposed to THAT much endless and pointless clicking that in the end doesent really matter!
Potential? Yes! Could be a great game, but for now it is one of these games that wil drive you insane for its counter intuitive game play.
I love this game because there is a lot to learn and it is fun to play.
Nice Game👍
Can you add a sandbox mode so players can have infinite money so they can create there dream car factory
just another game to play with bugs lol
Not quite there yet, but great foundation.
Really disappointed. The lacks any real depth.
Research tree is via money so it's easy to get things
Sell value of cars seems irrelevant, increase it at will and cars still sell
How many of a particular model did we sell? No clue because the reporting is non-existent
Efficiency of production - no clue...
Quality of production doesn't seem to make any difference if you train your staff and add the quality bonuses
You can't design cars
There no competitors
There's no research on what the public want
I could go on all day.
The classic 1994 DOS game actually has more depth to it.
Very fun game and really enjoying this so far! There is lots of potential so looking forward to updates with this one.
Great game for an early access! new features would be nice like more workers to help in late game, or something else to do with the finished cars like a racetrack or prize shows allowing for further customisation.
Brilliant game for all those people that like cars, cant wait to see future updates
Game is fun at first, but you start to run out of upgrades and unlocks very quickly - There is nothing to do past early game. The mid and end game are the same, just newer cars are unlocked ( cars all sell for nearly the same price anyway.. )
Few things I noticed that were disappointing:
- There are TONS of cars, but there is not really much benefit to unlocking cars after the first few, as the majority of cars are from 4000-5500 profit (if capped at 400% margin). I used the same few cars from beginning to end game and made millions... No reason to upgrade cars.
- Profit can be capped at 400% to effectively take away the early grind. Doesnt really effect sales much.
- Employees dont seem to make a difference when they are level 1 vs max level. - They just cost more.
- Assembly lines needed to be reset a couple times in order to function properly - not very intuitive.
- Employees seemed to have a hard time finding tasks. Found that sales team would be idle a lot of the time, and customers would walk out impatiently while a sales associate was just standing around doing nothing.
Couldnt figure out how to stop this. - I leveled sales staff up, I moved sales zones around, added more sales desks, nothing fixed that issue.
- Game gets VERY VERY laggy once you start to put a couple assembly lines down.
Its tolerable at first, but once a few get going... every input is lag city. I play on low graphics with a 3060 TI for reference.
- Excess power generated is just wasted.. If you consume more than you generate, you owe the city big bucks each month. but if you generate extra, it does nothing. Would hope to see power by-back from the city.
- There isnt much for a warning system. When things break, you have to go around and figure it out manually.
- The financial system is pretty plain. - Nothing to do with your money. No taxes, inflation, takeovers, etc.
Wish there was more to do with extra money floating around.
Overall, the game has tons of potential, but there is a lot of work left to be done in order to be considered finished in my opinion.
It took no time at all to get to the end game and realize theres nothingmore to do beyond the first couple hours of gameplay. Most of my time was spent trying to figure out why assembly lines would just randomly stop working, or why cars werent being sold Beyond that, there isnt much to this game.
- Build a building, Place an assembly line, assign workers, sell the car
-> Research more cars if your ambitions, otherwise just rinse and repeat until millionaire.
I am very much looking forward to future updates in hopes to see some of these concerns addressed.
Sales team doesn't want to sell cars apparently. I can't recommend this game. Eventually you go bankrupt with tons of cars and "rude" sales team?
this game needs multiplayer in a bad way. There is no reason to not replace the other competing manufacturers with real players. Otherwise, its fun.. got about 20hrs of play time, its repetitive and there is a recipe for success. Once you figure it out, the game is on easy mode.
The game is very simple and for that reason i am giving it a thumbs down. For 20 bucks there should be more meat on the bone... feels like a mobile game
Great game in need of further development. Can't wait for release. Other comments here shoul be guidelines for developpers. Once more, great begginning of a game.
I bought this having enjoyed the demo (Car Manufacture: Prologue) which has a couple of hours of gameplay in it but most of the tech tree is locked. However, on playing the full version I discovered this game needs some serious refinement to make it enjoyable.
All the elements that you'd expect are there (placing and configuring items for production lines, sales, and R&D; a tech tree; hiring employees; managing sales and budgets etc.) but the way these are put together into a game is a long way off in 2 main ways:
1. The ability to inspect the performance of your factory is lacking
The most important thing in a production line game (and real life) is to have the data available to see where the bottlenecks are. In this game this data is either completely missing, the graphs/metrics are so badly implemented that they're basically useless, or you have to catch the data live. Specifically:
- The production line meters for average tasks/week or cars/week seem to reset at fixed points rather than rolling so they are meaningless most of the time and the graph behind has no scale so is more of a background than useful data.
- As soon as a car is driven off the production line its production time vanishes so to know how long a car took you have to sit and wait until the instance before it leaves the line.
- The salesmen often fail to make a sale for reasons such as "salesman is unprofessional" or "car quality is bad" but you only see this as a speech bubble for a brief second if you watch the bargaining live; there's no popups or sales history.
[*] There are no alerts or hints when your production line is blocked e.g. I didn't realise there was a new employee type (driver) that was needed and wasted ages trying to optimise transporters (who did the driving in the demo).
2. Production lines seem to slow down the rate of production rather than speed it up.
The issues of poor observability may be excused if it weren't for this point. The whole premise of the game is to allow you to play out the massive improvement in manufacturing efficiency that the production line brought but this game seems to present the opposite.
I did an experiment with production lines of different lengths: two with a single station, one with 2 stations and another with 4 stations. Each had well stocked storage right next to each station and equal numbers of mechanics per station of equal skill level (i.e. 2 mechanics for the single station line up to 8 for the 4 station line). I tried to balance the long line with approx equal build time for each station. At worst you'd expect the longer lines to produce cars at a similar rate to the single station line but adding stations increased production time per car by 50-100%! Even assigning more mechanics to the line didn't improve things.
It's hard to say why this is but potential issues are no shift times so workers randomly take breaks, possibly a lot at once; the auto task assignment has workers walking up and down the production line when parts can be installed in parallel (e.g. wheels); employees tend not to walk across the line so a long line causes far more unnecessary walking.
I can accept a certain level learning the game before I can build optimal systems but when a supposed tech upgrade goes so far in the wrong direction it takes you out of the experience.
Conclusion
This game has most of the right elements which could make for a great game but until the operation and cohesion of those parts is sorted out it plays more as a visual modeller of a car factory rather than a true factory building game. I hope development continues throughout early access so that it can reach its full potential.
I find it as no challenge there's noting to stop you from making money
