Good story, nice inclusion of the franchise (T1 and T2, at least, not sure about the others). Gameplay is great, I feel it would be more fun if the highpowered weapons were available earlier.
I have seen all the Terminator movies and the series as well. I think this was a way to tell an fresh take on the story while still keeping elements that were present in Terminator 1 and 2 specially. I had read reviews and had thought of buying it before but didn't think it was worth it. Finally, I saw it on sale on steam and thought "why not? if it sucks it will suck before the 2 hours of game play are up". But it was enjoyable and I liked that you have different endings depending on the choices you make throughout the game. I highly recommend it for long time Terminator fans.
Considering that the Terminator franchise doesn't have an extensive lore to build on, this game does just enough to distinguish itself from other post-apocalyptic settings.
Great game, shows respect to the original 2 movies as well.
Oh WOW! It feels strange to have a game again on my 'go back to for the sheer fun of it' list. Not many make it, less so ones that are technically movie licences, given the general perception that they have.
More so given that the team behind this one made that terrible Rambo game, boy how they bounced back.
Yes this is a low budget game, and in places you feel it. Stiff character models, 2D cut scenes, a boss fight with a HK tank which helpfully remains static, scene cuts like they are going out of fashion, moments of clear lovely 'euro jank' that make it feel like a early era Xbox 360? All totally there.
But yet it's fun! lots of fun! You can approach some levels in different ways, Maps for some of the levels are open are free roaming. Weapons have a nice scale nicely as the game goes on. Combat is clunky, but blowing up terminators never really gets old. Finally the respect for the first two films is there. Yes think of this as the 'proper' third part of the terminator story (lord knows every terminator film after T2 sucks hard).
The annihilation line DLC is worth it as well. I would have preferred it if it had been tied into the main story (as it supposedly takes place at the half way point in the main campaign), than a separate thing that you have to start up. However it adds a good extra number of hours to the total play time (heck it might even be half the length of the main game). Worth it as well for the small tie in here and there to original 1984 movie, not to mention small improvements to the game itself. Downsides? Yeah there's a spot of poor checkpointing here and there but nothing major.
Terminator Resistance is proof that game doesn't have to be perfect to be really enjoyable. Just solid and fun.

Great game, has held up to the viciousness of time. similar soundtrack to the first several movies, with a lot of lore mixed in, as well as a lot of familiar faces from the early movies. Anyone who remembers the sadness the first time they saw the ending of T:2, this game has moments like that.
Note to those who want to live the story, not the hours to beat it, wemod works well, just don't select the easy kill option as certain missions need to have certain NPC's killed by allies, if you hack your way to kill them missions get stuck.
Feels like a good mid 2000 FPS with some added mechanics. There is very simple crafting, resource management and a lot of scavenging for ammo and equipment. Terminator Resistance gameplay is very smooth, you can choose between stealth or gun blazing approach in most missions, either shoot everything that moves, or just crawl around, hacking enemy equipment against them. I do not think there are many games like this anymore, so it is nice to play something like this for a change. Also Terminator lore is great.
Despite the fact that the gameplay is very basic and barely innovative, the experience is exceptionally solid. The lore adherence, sound, music and character/enemy design clearly show the love and passion that the developers have for this franchise. If you are a fan of the classic Terminator movies, you will definitely enjoy this title.

This was an enjoyable game with plenty of references to the early franchise. The music, graphics, environment were commensurate with the films. It was enjoyable rummaging around the ruins and, playing on survival mode, Combat was not easy. As much as I enjoyed the main campaign, the Infiltrator mode was the icing on the cake: a no-save, perma-death mission that was very challenging. Very happy with this purchase.
Best Terminator game. Good story lines. I hope there's more DLC. Love this game so much.
A love letter to Terminator fans---Teyon, infamously known for that awful Rambo The Video game managed to get things right on this game, from the tone, that ONE cameo in the mental ward, references, music, the sound effects along with the weapons straight out of James Cameron's mind! And I cannot wait to try out Robocop Rogue City.
Rough around the edges and the gunplay is pretty mediocre, but the game gets the terminator feel and atmosphere down to a t.
Best Terminator game ive played and basically finally a decent one . As a standalone game its a good/very good game.
Terminator: Resistance is like a well-worn leather jacket—nothing fancy, but it fits the franchise perfectly. The game stays true to the lore, with a story that’ll make any Terminator fan smile (well, as much as you can smile in a post-apocalyptic hellscape). Sure, the gameplay is as basic as Skynet’s bedside manner, but it’s still fun—sneaking around, blasting machines, and feeling like humanity’s last hope.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Would I recommend it at full price? Eh, maybe let a discount “come with you if you want to play.” For fans of the franchise, this is a solid ride down nostalgia lane—with plenty of killer robots.
Has its quirks and feels like too many minigame/rerun missions but is almost fully featured. If only they let you drive that tank.
The best Terminator film we've had since "T2: Judgement Day."
This will be my Terminator 3 from here moving forward. Oh, and the game is pretty fun too if you're a fan of the series.
Solid game that does the T1 and T2 justice. It plays great on the Steam Deck. At times it reminded me a bit of Metro, but really if you are a Terminator fan, the moment you blast the terminators and see them get back up while on fire you know you found your game.
It's a Decent Game and Enjoyed the Story, though I had wished there's an Open World System.
A decent AA game. You can play it both as a shooter on mid difficulty and as a survuval on extreme (though even this way the game still feels too easy).
I like everything about this game for its price. Story, gameplay, visuals, playtime, GREAT OPTIMIZATION (game works fine on medium on my potato notebook). The only concern is a terrible bug that blocks controls after hacking. You can't imagine how much times that made me restart the game exploding my ass.
In general, these guys know for sure how to make games based on franchises.
Perhaps it's the plot, seared in to my mind growing up...the opening scenes of the film, remains crushed under tracks, the eerie blast of a plasma gun, the deathly stare of a Machine but this game legitimately has me on edge when venturing out on a mission! The background music, the 'true to film' mismatch of your enemies power, along with the barren landscape, devoid of life...truly immersive. Join the fight.
Nothing to write home about so far, but is definitely a solid game with some action packed moments. I'd say anyone who is a fan of Terminator will get some fun out of this if they pick it up on sale.
Plays a bit like Fallout without the bugs. Fairly linear missions, you get a small sandbox area with your main quest and side objectives with a camp that you go back to after each mission.
Genuinely amazing little game that plays perhaps as authentically to the era the source material comes from, as the aesthetic, narrative, and characters are in terms of matching the original films - retro in all senses, but not in the bad way that might sound.
Don't come expecting Call of Duty gunplay or CDPR graphics, but know that any fan of the first two films is gonna have a great time.
TLDR: This is an Sci-Fi shooter that delivers on the promise of fighting Skynet while also supplying a background mystery thriller. I highly recommend it!
The following is a love story.
I was surprised how strongly this game gripped me. It was to the extent that I ended up finishing the main campaign in a single play session. The entire time I was going though it, I was enraptured by how the developers managed to bring the reality of Skynet's war on humans to a grim, beautiful light. And it was indeed beautifully done. The hours spent agonizing on specific background scenes, knowing that the player would stop and stare at the horrifying reality that had been put on display so artistically, was obvious. Truly spectacular.
The game world felt both open and focused, a unique experience compared to many games I have played. Every area had a purpose and a story to tell, but only a few were required by the campaign. Scavenging felt rewarding, with fights containing a strong feeling of horror. This was especially true during the first inescapable interaction with a terminator.
The campaigns (main, DLC, and time trial) all contain an air of mystery to them. Design choices for combat, movement, and interactions all feed into this background mystery, with evidence building of a shadowy influence following around the player. It was incredibly fun to speculate about who/ what this was, especially as the campaign unfolded, knocking out some of my theories. In the end, I felt the developers could have taken a different route with it, but I was more than satisfied nonetheless.
There existed some minor issues in the experience. The game engine was clearly not fully fleshed out, having weird visual glitches, often involving the ground. When playing through the side story (DLC), one map clearly lacked polish. It contained many issues with movement collisions on invisible object, loading of objects causing stutters, and general issues with gameplay. The time trial would have been even better if the character you play as was implemented in correspondence with lore, although there are understandable reasons why it wasn't.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this game. I am very much looking forward to playing other games made by this developer.
It was an easy going shooter with lots of robots. More weapons and xp trees would have been nice. Worth the $20 if you're a Terminator fan.
Faithful Terminator setting. Great story. Fulfilling combat. Great game.
I would describe this as flawed fun. It has some graphical glitches (played it on max quality), the AI is dumb and on normal difficulty the game is too easy (would recommend playing on a higher to get the most of a play-through)
On the other hand, the set pieces are fun, the story doesn't overwrite any of your franchise favourites, and the soundtrack is great. I'm gonna try the DLC too and see if it's much different.
I guess it's important to remember this isn't a AAA game and was made with a reasonable budget. If you like Terminator stuff maybe get it on a discount or something :)
This games is a solid B grade game (not an insult) that keeps things simple and has a lot of rough edges. But in the end it's a Terminator game and you can tell it was made by Terminator fans. I felt like the under dog of the resistance the entire time.
Get this is you're a Terminator fan.
The bad:
Graphics are meh. you get glipses of the world but nothing that makes you go wow! this world is wrecked. Characters have the facial expressions of a cement wall. Combat is only kind of good but not bad. Guns have no feel to them. Just nothing particularly special in the pew pew department. Also the "choice matter" part is a bit whatever. They do matter but only for a particular ending. Highly recommend looking up guides to find the "good" ending. Was much more satisfying that way.
The good:
The story starts out and seems like it's meh at the start but then grows into something really special. (no spoilers). It lines things up with the movies (T1 and T2 and kind of Salvation) and makes you feel like your character is important without taking away from the original characters so there are no self insert fan-fiction vibes despite it tying directly into the movies.
The best:
The final few missions are amazing. You get to live through scenes only hinted at in other media. The radio chatter alone gave me chills.
For a game about fighting a malicious AI, this game feels like it was made by one. It's as if someone asked ChatGPT to make a Fallout/Metro/CoD inspired Terminator game for the Xbox 360 (and on a limited budget). It wears it's inspirations proudly and even though it's kinda clunky and basic, it has a nostalgic charm to it. It's very easy to pick up and play and if you like the source material, it'll check the boxes for you.
the game is ok but lacks a lot of interesting element for one it tries to be story driven with a set path but at the same time tries to be "open world" yes u can sort of explore but very limited in it only being grounded in a location until u complete the main objective the other is weapon variety is a bit lacking if the game had a more open world rpg it be more fun
Old school linear FPS with conventional mechanics, gameplay leaning to stealth tactics. It's an action flick where you fight in the mentioned war of the movies. Definitely not an open world.
As a fan of the Terminator universe this was fun. As a non-fan, it probably is just another generic shooter.

This isn't Skyrim, Cyberpunk or Fallout. But for what it does, it succeeds at. An enjoyable fast-paced romp through a grim future. Lots of shooting and some rudimentary stealth/crafting/talking. If Cyberpunk is Terminator 2 or Aliens, then this is Terminator 1 or Alien.
The story is way better than the recent terminator movies, game is fun with some rpg and survival elements in it. also our choices actually matter unlike a new so called "rpg" game recently released by certain big company. a must play if you are Terminator 1&2 fans.
A game for Terminator fans by Terminator fans. The future war and struggle for survival the movies only ever teased at showing. Nothing ground breaking here with game design, but it functions. If you are a fan of the movies, you will enjoy this. If you are not a fan.. who are you?
Overall this game was too "meh" to get into. Voice acting was poor, NPCs lifeless and storyline just not gripping. Some interesting elements and a cool theme, but like many have said, was monotonous and repetitive. Almost no ammo in the game, takes an insane amount to kill anything so unless you like 10 hours of sneaking around, probably not for for you. I really tried to like it as its an iconic movie franchise but ultimately it just falls short. Does feel like a 2011 game, not a 2019 game, as some have said.
It's not a huge budget game, but it perfectly captures the atmosphere of the first two Terminator films. If you ever wanted to play a game that's just like the future war scenes in those movies, you'll not be dissapointed.

Teyon's environment artists deserve major recognition for their work here, everything feels like its been ripped straight from the Future war scene from T1 and T2.
The narrative is well-written, seamlessly filling in gaps left by the movies.
The music feels like it was pulled straight from the films, perfectly capturing the tone. The addition of the free Infiltrator mode, where you play as a Terminator hunting Resistance targets in a small open sandbox world, is a fantastic bonus. It adds a fun, pick-up-and-play element that keeps the experience fresh.
Amazing atmosphere of a desperate struggle against a cold-calculated AI. This game transfers the atmosphere of the very first Terminator with obsessive precision. Old-school John Connor, Kyle Reese, and a ton of Easter eggs for the fans. This is the proper third installment we never received. I don't want to pay much attention to the mediocre graphics or the same locations because, in the end, I was never bored, and I had an amazing experience. Thank you for this game.

Having a great time with the game. If you love the T2 setting and like linear FPS games with a decent story, then go for it. I would love to see the dev make another game like this.
I loved the game, given the small dev team I am pleased with how it turned out. The story was perfect, working within the established lore of the first two terminator movies. The graphics are OK. Soundtrack is dope. Overall I would recommend.
The infiltrator mode is nicely done too.
This is a clunky, fairly repetitive shooter with a great atmosphere and interesting characters. You will fight the same enemies throughout, as you progress from an easily wrecked Level 1 Blob to a Level 26 Terminator Destroyer. Levels repeat. Enemies get stale. But the world is interesting and it's worth playing through.
Get it on sale for $5-$10 and it's a good deal for ~10 hours of middling gameplay and solid story.

This game is surprisingly entertaining and engaging to play. I was skeptical at first - I expected it to be some over-produced hollywood tripe, but I was quickly enthralled by the gameplay and story. It usually takes me a few minutes to decide if the look and feel of a game will keep me coming back for more and this game hit the spot right away. Though, maybe it's because a lot of game mechanics seem to be "borrowed" from some of my other favourite games...but who's to say
Menu music is thrilling, I even started the game and listened to it a couple of times before actually playing :) Game gave me 15 hours of fun, especially the mission where you had to avoid T-800s, as there were no effective weapons against them.
I highly recommend this game.
I played this game after the newer Robocob one. The latter is a better and more complex game but its crazy to see how much this studio improves with each game. Rambo was such a low start and to see there improvement is pretty inspiring.
This game while nothing complex is really faithful to the source material. Clearly the developer loves the brand. Fans of The terminator will not be dissapointed.
what an incredible game! very well laid out. Sadly its not full open world. its fixed open world as in you are set in the linear mode of the quests set out for you.
with that aside i absolutely loved the story it was incredible and glad i bought it.
