Pretty much the best game ever made of its type and the only game ive played for years. nothing comes close to this day

I have played this game for many years it is very . it is some what dated,but i still enjoy it. it would be nice to see it up dated but most likey that will never happen.

Don't bother with the base game or the sequel.

base game is pure crap, ai's are all cheating, unbalanced to the point where defence is just a waste of time. (what in the hell are even the walls for? cattle?) However there is a mod community that will spice this up from a 2.5/10 to a 7.5/10

If you like to come home and rage at your computer after a long day of working for the man, spend an hour building up the perfect base, then listen to your friend cackle as your team's AI tells you that there's a "strategic launch detected", then watch all your hard work go up in atomized flames as you rage quit the game and rip your hair out, then this is the game for you.

There's a great online community of players who are very supportive in helping get new players up to speed. This game is addictive!

The greatest strategy game (that I've played, at least) to ever come out. Land, air, sea and information. Absolutely incredible, even 15 years later it still not only holds up, it excels. Go on, treat yourself.

This game is a top notch strategy game. It's really neat coming up with new ways to destroy your opponent and the options keep increasing as you learn about your units more. Would recommend getting FAF (You can just google Forged Alliance Forever and it should come up) so you can play with friends and other peoples.I would also recommend the black ops mod in FAF as it adds more units, increasing possibilities. Warning - the Russian are really good, I hear they all switched to SUP COM when Bobby Fischer beat them in chess.

The best in the series. I love TA. Love it to death, but this is just better. Supreme Commander 2 was garbage.

Still fun after all these years.

Did not work for me anymore since quite some time on Windows.
But now it performs perfectly on my Linux (OpenSuse Leap 15.6, GE-Proton 21).

Since a lot of years passed by since i touched this last time, i started the campaign again - very enjoyable.

There's no RTS like it.
While I hope that Sanctuary Shattered Sun will be good, what I have known is great be right here.

It's not hard to install, just run an installer, you can play the campaigns through them (and in co-op).

It's my favourite RTS, my hours aren't representative as I never used to have it on steam.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is an incredible real-time strategy game with a unique and engaging gameplay experience. The massive scale of battles and the variety of units make every match exciting and strategic. The graphics, while a bit dated, are still impressive and add to the overall immersive experience. The game mechanics are well thought out and provide a deep, complex challenge. Unfortunately, I've experienced crashes after every skirmish match, which can be frustrating. Despite this downside, the game is still worth playing for its depth and strategic brilliance.

Still holds up in 2025

slightly aged now, but the QoL commands like patrol, ferry etc are just great and I don't know why RTS games can't replicate it
the closest game to this level of granularity in unit orders is the Upcoming game Broken arrow imo.
but even then SupCom has some great features

Great game, follows on from the original nicely, keeping the scale of conflict epic, with so many unit types that no two battles are necessarily the same -the ultimate real time strategy game for it's age.

It's pretty good.
Allows you to throw around massive deathball armies like nothing else.
Better than SupCom2.

Some elements haven't aged well, its got some absurdly long build times and questionable pathing and lacks some of the QOL changes things like Beyond All Reason have added, but its still really solid and very good for its age. I'd recommend Beyond All Reason over it for multiple reasons, biggest one being its free but this game is a classic for a reason. 8/10

After 2 decades of its release still holds title of one of the best RTS games to this date to enjoy with other people.

Played many other RTS in my life as its one of my fav game genres, other games have amazing campaigns if u compare them to forged alliance but, but the moment u get bored and want to enjoy it with other people, this game is the go to in RTS
yes, yes starcraft has its own pros but so does cons which are fast phased game with less resources and options so its more like quick rts multiplayer but forged alliance has double if not triple amount of things u can cover and build during multiplayer game which gets your game going for 1h+ sometimes, anyhow you want multiplayer rts that really gets you going? this is the one! also try to get FAF as they have elo ranking which makes it even better + dozens of patches and new stuff.

Fun game but a shame no more developments for years.

This is the last game of this scale the console version killed the series which was kinda surprising.

Huge maps with tons of units all over the place shooting is fun.

The absolute best Supreme Commander game in the series. Been playing on disc version for over 17 years. Great for LAN parties or even regular online play still using things like Forged Alliance Forever.

project LOUD mod makes this game come alive in a way that most RTS cant match.

Still my favorite RTS after all these years. Campaign is a decent tutorial before jumping into online matches (use Forged Alliance Forever). Late game can be very taxing on hardware but still makes for a fun experience seeing the raw output of a late game economy.

There's a lot to like here, but this does not run well on modern systems.

I have played this game ever since it was out on disk. It's easily the best RTS ever created.

Strategic game play with never ending replay fun.

Losing is fun. Especially when you see an atomic bomb heading in your direction, while you have only second-level factories. I recommend playing it with your friends. Alternatively, you can use FAF servers in case you have no friends :(

I bought this for like 5 dollars. Forged Alliance Forever server is the way. Still having tons of fun as Bronze 1 on FAF. Also way better than SupCom2.

i grew up playing this game, i am highly nostalgic for it and i absolutely love it, wish they would make a third supreme commander back in this art-style or a remaster would be fine. 10/10

THE RTS to the CORE! Northgard ? BAH, Total War? BAH. Company of Heroes? BAAAH... After the glorius Total Annihilation, this is what defines the classic RTS genre, with the most FREEDOM what an RTS can give you. Want to dominate land, you can, rule the skies, you can, worse than the Straw Hats on the sea, you can, beat the living hell out of your enemies with Experimentals? You Can! Or want to bombard/nuke them to the Stone Age? YOU CAN! And if you want a good advice my fellow strategy lover friend, get a few mods (Black Ops, Total Mayhem, Xtrem Wars, BrewLAN, Wyvern Battle Pack, Future Battlefield Pack) and you will get units what you never ever imagined to exist to wreak havoc to your heart's content! Belive me, even if Steam only shows a few 100 hours of playtime, my real playtime is around 10 000 or more hours.

Everything missing or wrong in supcom is fixed in this add on game.

If you love RTS games, this game is a must-play. Growing up with Red Alert 2 as a kid and later discovering Supreme Commander in a local game store, I bought it, played it, and was blown away. The battlefields are massive, the gameplay is fun, and there's an incredible amount of depth. For instance, you have multiple modes for units, and you can manually fire or aim certain weapons. The strategic possibilities are endless—enough to intimidate any seasoned general. Truly one of the best PC games ever made. Play the first one if you'r new, the first mission can be intimidating.

Game was released in 2007. 17 years later still has working networking code, dual monitor support and runs on monitors whose resolution and aspect ratio had yet to be imagined.
Still Good fun

This amazing second instalment lives on in "Forged Alliance Forever" for multiplayer matches (FAF), and still is one of the most epic strategy games ever made in my opinion. It also has the option to use a second monitor to serve as your radar or map, while the game itself plays on your primary screen. More strategy games should have this amazing option, and can learn a thing or two from the Supreme Commander franchise.

I played Total Annihilation years ago and as I got busy with life; I didn’t know that Supreme Commander was the successor to one of my favorite games of all time.
I picked Supreme Commander, Supreme Commander 2, and Supreme Commander Forged Alliance during one of Steam sales and OMG.
The tactical zoom and the scale of battles blew my mind.
Go buy all of them and play right now.

I like this game because it is a real time strategy game and it currently has a strong online community called FAF. If you just follow FAF's guide, you'll get it with no extra charge. The entire game play is advanced compared to what you originally get- that includes the AI. Additionally, they still have a team who's expanding the game with no additional charge and a healthy/positive community who's willing to make you their next competitor. FAF gives this game an extra "-umf" that we've all been asking and looking for in the RTS world. I would say that it is the only RTS game who starts you off with a bang by building combat units right at the start. Alone, it did pretty well, but online- it is a whole lot better.
