Innocent Forest is fantasy story about a girl called Luclei and the memories of her visitors.
The forest of lost memories: a place where they say you can forget one painful occurrence.
Kei, (voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi) a young man lost in the forest, encounters a mysterious girl named Luclei (voiced by Rina Hidaka) who lives among the woods and gathers a flock of birds.
It is through these birds the past, present and future of lost memories unfolds.

This story is usually dirt cheap, and while it is rather predictable and doesn't take full advantage of VR, being there in the story adds so much. I feel like a few more scenes could have gotten an animation, or at least a 3D modeled space, but the story was nice enough I can forgive it.

I am still feel it after finishing the game
Tis nice when i find a little hidden gem somewhere in the wilds. This I can say is one of them. Its clearly not for everyone being a linear visual novel with minimal 3D interaction... luckily i am a fan of linear VNs. But if you are not a fan of immersive picture stories with relaxing music I don't think this is for you.
But honestly I am glad I found this, honestly for 5$ (also the sequel) its not the worst thing to throw my money at. The story is cute, not attempting to be groundbreaking. I enjoyed it for what it was, seems this writer likes to pull tear jerkers towards the end. I found everything it did effective and was only as long as it needed to be.
I see most people complaining about the VR elements being minimal, but honestly I had no problem with this. It interacts like most VNs. The main thing I found this to do was heighten my immersion. I tend to get more immersed in novels than i do in most games, VNs especially suck me in. So being in the scene helped a lot to cement it. Game is good, I plan to check out the developers other games now.
Pros:

+ Great character development
+ Very fitting and emotional soundtrack
Cons:
- Only 1 short scene contains animated characters.
- The rest is book reading, the background is 360 degree spherical map with no depth.
Was kind of disappointed initially with how it's such a waste of VR potential, but the great story far outweighs the downsides. The story is played and completed in one hour. Overall I'd recommend it.
Simply Wonderful
Both games (Innocent Forest 1 and 2) were amazing, funny enough I played them in the wrong order, but honestly I think playing 2 first then 1 made more of an impact, absolutely amazing story, had me holding back tears in both games, highly recommended for those that enjoy visual novels, quite reminds me of "key"'s Visual novels.
this one is either totally bugged on my system (tried two different HS) or just a terrible game
the game does not look like on the screenshots in the description!
- there are absolutely no animations whatsoever
- all rooms & environments are empty, no characters, no objects, nothing
- a greyish circle with text inside is floating, covering most of the view
- to play dialog (if any present) i have to press on the glowing button - why? and why would i want to? and who is telling that? there are no chars visible anyway!
this is not a 'visual novel', but just a 'novel' - not worth any money
only just started but gives a very nice atmosphere from the start but seems to have an issue with the vive putting you very high up as the starting position
i only recommend this if you like slice of life visual novels if your after anything else avoid
This is a very touching story. Most of it is reading, only one live action scene, although there is Japanese narration throughout. I had to use OVR Advanced Settings to relocate the center of the room in order to get it to work.
This game was a early adapter on phone VR experiences brought over to PC
(Owned it on Mobile playing with Samsung Gear VR Note Edition originally)
Its Very Much a story driven experience, but theres a bit more freedom to look around now on PC compare to mobile, but at the time this came out, mobile VR wasnt a very big market, and the VR rendering they did in it, is nice!!
but if your used to reading your way though VN's this is a kinetic novel but the story is good enough that it might make you shed some tears in your VR headset ^^
over all, yes, its alot of Reading witht alittle VR sprinked in, but its a nice read, and credit is owed where credit is due for them being a early adapter in the Anime VR market =D
It's a short kinetic novel that's primarily reading. Nothing groundbreaking and the VR aspect is present though minimal; that said it is a nice little story.
I have just completed the first chapter reading.
Quite surprised how small she was when I saw him at first.
Still, looking good. Have a good feeling to read the rest part.
Only complain is; the dialogue balloon is literally fixed in the middle of your eyesight.
So, your neck may gets tired if you continue reading this over two - three chapters.
Look forward to play the rest shortly. I would say; yes.
You may buy this one if the game attracted you.

One VR scene that I bothered to make it though. (Had to click though like 60 pages of text)
There is no Gallery to relive VR scenes.
NOT meant to be played sitting in a chair. for a while I thought the game broke as all I could see is black.
User interface is buggy and often times would not allow me to click where I wanted to.
What is the point of a VR main menu that does not have intuitive controls in a game where 99% of the time you are reading a book? Just make a flat option screen.
Don't expect some busty elf to come through the door either. There is nothing here for you.
KInetic Novel that takes approximately one hour to finish (mostly spent reading text and clicking next).
Good storyline but nothing groundbreaking, and the VR format isn't really justified (it could also have been a flat game without any major issue).
But still, for the price it's a nice way to spend an evening.
Played with a WinMR headset without any issue, except the screen freezing for a few seconds while the engine gets the sound file (when clicking the voice icon).
Visual novel that you read with VR environmentals for the immersion. The story is great. Very impactful and memorable. Played through a lot of games recently and this one is the most memorable. Pacing of the story is casual and many times I stopped to just relax in the environment for a while before going forward. If you're looking for a low stress game to unwind after a hard day of work, this one is a good bet. Great game to play late at night with a hot cup of Chamomile tea. Great game to play when you can't sleep.
Well I'm glad that somhow anime games are made but it's only 15 second of 3d animation of this character that is in the trailer . Rest , about 200 pages are like riding book. I'm not satisfied but I give thumbs up . Hope when creators will have more money meaby next time the will make something better. 360 few scenes are unexpectly poor somehow Graphic meaby is not fully prepared to be in 360 view. If you are prepared that this doeasn't have more then 15 second of 3D aniamtion and other cutscene about another 20 second of animation and you are prepared that this is like reading book only then you can give it a try.
Positive:
+ Game worked perfectly fine on my Oculus Rift.
+ Art Design (very simplistic but in a good way, I liked it).
+ Great voice acting.
+ Story telling, the environment and the sounds work hand in hand, made me feel immersed.
+ Short, but sweet storyline.
Negative:
- Only two animated scenes
- Not all dialogue is voice acted (feels weird to hear the protagonist in one sentence just to read the next sentence in silent because it wasn't voice acted. If I would have to guess I would say about 80-90% of the dialogue IS voice acted though, so it wasn't that big of a deal for me personally).
Overall, I enjoyed this game. The 90 minutes of playtime (in my case, it obvioulsy depends on how fast of a reader you are) are well worth the $3.99 and I would love to see more games of that kind!
