I trusted the cake, but the cake was a lie
Cake-themed getting over it
This was really fun game! There was no instruction how to move but you'll figure it out quickly. It's short and offers challenge but it's doable in 1 hour even for me (I'm usually not good with this kind of games). FOR SOME REASON game starts at checkpoint 3 so check the menu and click "return to checkpoint" so you can start the game from actual start! ^_^
This is by far one of the weirdest games I've played, and one of the frustrating too. If you like a casual, 2D, platforming, game where you jump around as a sentient piece of cake, then this game is for you.
A deceptively inviting-looking title which is on par with old Flash-based Rage Games unfortunately.
The game is simple enough on paper & a novel-enough concept, but the execution is lacking. The low-asking price of MMMmmm... Cake! makes it somewhat easy to gloss over, but that just means you can find better games elsewhere.
While the game looks fun, you'll be fighting the controls a la Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy (as others have mentioned) more than the actual obstacles - to say nothing about the odd layout of the game itself. The game starts you at checkpoint 3, but if you use the checkpoint button, it throws you back at checkpoint 1. There is a day/night cycle where things get difficult to see what you're doing & where you're going. Checkpoints can be missed. So on & so forth.
It seems more like this was an early attempt at game development from Dymchick1 & they just decided to offer it for sale as is. While it mostly works, to be a proper release, I think it could use a little more fine tuning.

Bad Game.
The game started (for me) for whatever reason between checkpoit 3 and 4 and there are also missable checkpoints, so that explains the random order of the achievements in the global achievement stats what made me suspicious befor even buying this game.
The controls are terrible, but that didn't even bothered me that much.
What bothered me way more was the changing brightness in this game. It has a diurnal cycle and when it's night you really can't see shit at all...
But if your playing this game anyway, get ready to get stuck into objects often and to fall through the ground many fucking times. When that happens you have to reset to the last checkpoit. It's really fun.
All in all:
- Short, buggy game
- not many achievements
- terrible controls
- really terrible weird changing brightness
- the graphics are fine
- the music is okay
In my opinion not even worth buying when on sale, just a waste of time.
I like this game and its music! It helps a lot against boredom

am I the only one who gets slightly aggressive in some places in the game?
Controls are too bad.Spawn points are placed wrong. For people who rages alot, this game will be really bad. I don't recommend this game for people who rage.

It started me off at the 3rd checkpoint with no indication on how to play.
When I finished the game, I was stuck. So I tried the ESC key to find out the there was a menu with a checkpoint respawn mecanism and some buttons...
Bad user interface experience.
Budget Getting over it.
Controls are terrible and there are spots where you get stuck and have to start from the beginning. Would be fun with better controlls.
So frustrating when you're stuck on a particular area, but when you get past it, you feel like you've accomplshed something! A bit shorter than I'd hoped for, but good fun! Worth giving this a chance!
A really fun challenging game! for the price it is totally worth it! I don't think i have played a game like this ever before. It can be frustrating, but rewarding when you make progress. There is one glitch i found where you fall through the floor, but overall it plays really well. I recommend it!
