Life between myths. Lead your clan into legend or obscurity. Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind is a storybook strategy game, immersing you in a land of old gods and magic, the same world as King of Dragon Pass.
Hundreds of small encounters build into an epic, multi-generational tale of survival and inter-clan alliances. Six Ages is the spiritual successor to acclaimed King of Dragon Pass, taking place thousands of years earlier in the same shared world of Glorantha. Part role-playing, part resource management, you'll always be making decisions with long-term consequences, for you and your clan.
Please note the minimum system requirements for Windows is Windows 10!
Design your own clan, visit the gods, become respected, raid your neighbors' cows
Over 400 interactive story scenes, with deep simulation systems driving their appearance and outcomes
Multiple difficulty levels, and the option for Iron Willed players to limit reloading
Gorgeous hand-painted high-resolution illustrations
Same world as King of Dragon Pass, but a new clan: the Riders, with their own myths, and 4x more world to explore
Discover, appease, and make deals with spirits in your territory
Glorantha is a highly detailed Bronze Age world, similar in many ways to our own. But it exists in a magical universe where the laws of physics are subordinate to the whims of the gods and spirits. To understand Glorantha, leave our mundane world and enter the world of myth. The Sun is a living god, not a nearby star. Countless gods exist, some even more powerful than the Sun, and all have the power to directly affect humanity.
In Six Ages, you play specifically as a Riders clan, who revere various gods in their particular mythology, including Gamari the Horse Mother, and your culture hero, Hyalor... but you would be foolish to forget Raven the Trickster. He has not forgotten you.
Glorantha is also the setting of other rich narrative games/experiences, including King of Dragon Pass, HeroQuest, RuneQuest, God Wars, and others.

This game is a mix of a tribe simulator and a visual novel. The art is beautiful and prominent and gives life to the mythical ages of Glorantha, the events are varied and have many different outcomes, and the game itself is easy to pick up but hard to win. I had a blast with it even though it took me a while to figure out and I failed often.
One thing to note is that the game really does not hold your hand at all. It does not tell you how to win, and it is possible to completely doom yourself later on without realizing it or getting any indication that your timeline is screwed. If this is likely to drive you nuts, I suggest making ample use of the chapter reload feature like I did.
Fun relaxing
Definitely can be overwhelming at first but its a fun game. Had to consult the wiki sometimes to understand some things that are not explained, but the lore and the seasonal dynamics are cool once you get the hang of them.
I have to warn everyone considering to buy this game that in the end, despite the game offering many choices, there is only one storyline that will result in a victory scenario after a wedding, no matter how well you play, and I think that despite this game showing a really interesting world, the endings just ruin it for me, especially since many game overs are scripted endings to storylines, and you can have a flourishing clan, but the game just gives you an event that people have migrated into the area, and now you've lost the game and can't keep playing.
!!!
pros: fun, interesting story, GREAT world building, and wonderful for any history nerds out there
cons: the art style is an acquired taste, (i acquired it), very text based, difficult to get the hang of
Peak
Needs more Christopher Cross.
Interesting lore, but terribly designed as a game. The choices in this game feel procedurally generated, the outcomes often do not make sense. Considering that these choices are 80% of the gameplay loop, it feels way too underdeveloped. It feels like playing a game designed by a chatbot, instead of a handcrafted, immersive one. And despite being billed as a "play your own way" kind of game, you find out quickly that you are railroaded to the plot because there are only a very few select choices that continue the game to the end, and many that will end the game without warning or context.
There are many other better games to play before this one.
