one of the best arcade game i ever play so far. time killing, satisfying, good bg musics
Love it! Would love a mode to add other NPC racers or just one even in a different gametype. I have no complaints. Would've paid $10-15 no problem in it's current state. Game has potential for $40 if you can add a few tracks and npc racers. Love the music!!
fun, easy to get the hang of, great tunes, and it even will pause if your listening to other music when you tab out
Fantastic game, absolutely love the nightmare mode. If you were around in the 80s and 90s this game will take you back.

I remember this Year very good.
It was the Year, the TITANIC was finally found and the Year the Vulcan Nevado del Ruiz broke out and killed over 25.000 People. Remembering Armero….
So much more happened, it was a turbulent Year.
But for me it was also a special Year. Going to the 5th Class of School i convinced my Parents with a big wish, they finally make coming true.
1985, the Year where i got my Commodore 64. I still own him today and yes, he is still working. Brave little Friend over the Years.
You may ask me, what does this have to do with this Game?
I tell you. It was the Beginning of Gaming Passion and it started with Games like this.
Welcome to SYNTHWAVE DREAM `85.
Games in 1985 were simpel. Gaming was in still in Chilrden Shoes. High End Games like today were just utopic Dreams. Most Games were short. But there was also one Genre that depends on the Player, how long it takes. The Endless runner Genre.
The Goal was not to reach the End, the Goal was to get as much Points as you can get to beat the Highscore or your Friends.

SYNTHWAVE DREAM ´85 is absolutly wonderfull for a kid of the 80´s like me.
Excellent Retro Graphics with an amazing Old School Screen Effect, just like youre standing in Front of an old Arcade Automat and that absolutly, amazing, fantastic Music.
In the Beginning you have the Choice of 2 Modes. The Normal one and the Death one. In the normal you just drive the Road to gather as much Points as you can. In the Death Mode you do the same … but …. well … i should mention that Giant Skull that is following you. So dont make too much mistakes or he will reach you and you know waht that means? Game Over!

The Landscapes your Road goes through are Randomly generated. Everytime. You will not drive the same Roads again, but many parts looks similar. The Landscapes look absolutly cool and in connection with that awesome Music it perfectly brings back the Spirit of the 80s.
And that goes also for the Driving Mechanics….. and i didn´t mean it in a bad Way. Keep in Mind that realistic Driving Feeling like in Todays Games was also a little bit Utopic. But as long as it is Fun, it doesn`t matter. It is a habituation thing. Learning by Loosing or Dying.
Also keep in Mind that you get Points if you drift with your Car. The longer you drift, the more Points you get. They are also Checkpoints with a counter. The faster you reach them, the more Points you also get. And keep in mind, you are not under Time Pressure of loosing the whole Game like in OUTRUN. If the Checkpoint Counter reaches Zero you just get Zero Points and can drive on.
But there are 3 things you must also keep in mind. Of you leave the Road too long, a countdown will start. If you you are not back on the Road in Time, you loose. And the second thing, you have a Health Bar. If this reaches Zero, you also loose. But, don´t worry, from time to time, there were Repairing Tools on the Road. And last not least, you have unlimited Boost. But like in real Life if you boost to long, your Car goes Boom. Use it wisely.
Also earn Money to get new Cars or change the Style of your Active Car. Play alone or with Friends. Get maximum fun!

So if you want to have a little Look on what the 80´s Generation played in the Past, if you like cool Retro Graphics and typical 80´s Synthie Music, that together in an endless runner , just drive, enjoy and make Points, then this is for you.

Back in the 80s, one of the first driving games was a gem on the NES called Rad Racer. Games like that were eventually dropped for true racing games with opponents and multiplayer, but there was always something magical about a relaxing drive through beautiful scenery. With that, I call out LoneDev for seeing the beauty in a driving game that doesn't need opponents. Synthwave Dream '85 is a post-modern futuristic take on the genre using the increasingly popular synthwave music and visuals.
The visuals are peerless. Beautiful and perfect, this game has the most amazing driving game graphics I have ever seen. It's not overly complicated, it's not realistic, it's pure retro 80s synthwave love. There are multiple cars loosely based on real cars to avoid copyright restrictions, and the courses are proceedurally generated. While one will eventually notice all the various chunks of tracks that are used for this, it still has enough variety to always throw something new at you. Granted, sometimes that something new is a mountain that blocks your progress, forcing you to restart, and sometimes you drop through the road to parts unknown, but these two bugs don't rear their heads often enough to punish the game's marks, especially as it is still in Early Access and being works on constantly. The music is amazing and beautiful as well, all synthwave all the time. The tracks are wonderfully selected and fit the game's mood and atmosphere flawlessly. There really is nothing that could be done to improve on this aside from maybe adding yet more awesome synthwave tracks, but there is enough variety that you have to score upwards of 10,000 points in one go before you hear the entire soundtrack. As for controls, this game, unlike Rad Racer, is based on drifting, and it is hella fun. It has a moderate learning curve, but once you work it out, the game's controls are smooth as silk. As the person who, at the time of this review, holds the #3 spot on Infinite Dream, let me just say that the game is not difficult to master, and is fun to play while learning. If you find the big fat long hall, you can fishtail in it for massive drifting. There is so much enjoyment to be had here. It may not be a game you play all the time, but when you wanna kick back and relax, it sure hits the spot.
The game has infinite replayability due to being proceedurally generated. As long as there are people above you on the leaderboards, you have something to aim for in addition to just taking a relaxing drive. Whether you want to compete for score or just chill, this game delivers.
I absolutely recommend this game to anyone who enjoys any sort of driving game. You don't have to drift to play or even win (only for achievements), and you don't have to care about score or achievements. Even if you just want to grab a car and go, you'll have fun, as the starting car handles perfectly well for the entire game. Best of all, it's not a very expensive game. For an indy title that delivers on everything it is trying to deliver on, LoneDev's Synthwave Dream '85 gets a gold star and a bravo.
For a couple of quid this game is OK. the drifting does take some time to get used to and it's VERY slow at rewarding credits to get different cars.
This game has many elements that I like to see in "Retrowave" games. Over-saturated colors as well as the appearance of being played on an old television set, the colors and design remind me of the seemingly elaborate yet all too generic designs of arcades from the 80s-90s but in the best way possible. Despite the few bugs I have seen as well as my own hesitation to buy an early access game, I have really come to enjoy this game more than I assumed I would.
Now I want to talk about the soundtrack.
It sounds like music you would hear in a retro sci-fi movie like Terminator. I hear this music and my mind is taken back to the arcade my local theater used to have. Neon orange lights from the new Jurassic Park games that the theater had purchased, cigarette smoke and sticky carpet that looked like outer space with the way the glow in the dark paint is hit by the black light. Walking into the theater itself as the sounds of the movie and the movies in the other theaters reverberate off the walls, and that one beam of light from the projector shines throughout the room and is made slightly opaque by the cigarettes that are also being smoked in the theater as well. It's just an incredible soundtrack that hits all the nostalgia points for me.
I could go on and on about this game but ultimately while it hits all of the right points for me, it may not for all who read this review. However, if you felt a connection with the way I described my experience with the game, you might consider giving it a try for yourself.
The culmination of fantastic art direction, a wicked soundtrack, and solid driving mechanics make this a must-own game for fans of the synthwave genre.
This is my go-to game for relaxing and winding-down after a long days work. Thank you to the creator, LoneDev, for making such an enjoyable synthwave gaming experience. Very excited where updates and improvements take this game into the future.
Great game for zoning out and relaxed racing! There are several games on Steam which try to emulate the 80s Synthwave style, but this game does it best in my opinion. SD'85 has great potential and is really fun already. Get in your car and take a ride through the neon night!

Awesome retrowave 80's like videogame experience, however there are very few cars to select from (I personaly would like to see mazda rc7 fc3s or any of the rx7, maybe nissan skyline or something among those lines) and also some curved corridors deal damage to the car even when you drive through them without hiting anything.
SOLID 8/10 if the developer will improove the game further it will be an amazing product.
You know, when I initially bought this game, I wasn't sure it was for me. However, given that I love drifting, everything 80s, and synthwave, I found myself LITERALLY dreaming about this game the night after I purchased it. the controls are a bit hectic, and it took me a minute to realize that over-boosting will kill you. once i realized that though, I realized that this game is actually a hidden gem. it screams 80s in every possible way, including it's leaderboards. I think this is gonna be a game that I find myself playing more than i care to admit (I'm writing this review after just 1.5 days of owning the game, though. will update this as time passes.)
Yo, I don't know why I like this game. I really do. If more things meld towards my interests, i.e. online multiplayer with VAC support, trading cards, some sort of digital storage space for multiple vehicles…
There's a heavy emphasis on going high speed & listening to loud music, which I think misses the point of modern capabilities in its search to be a retroactively retro hit. Y'know? I sort of, for lack of a better term, picked up speed, right uh, away. But I still can't drift, and that's like, the basis of the game?
So, I wanna say, I was looking through Steam last night. I was on here for over 7 hours straight, just looking through the store. I had $11 and something to spend, so I was looking through every catagory of game. I already have just about everything else I want on steam, I just wanted a uh, good. Good racing game. Something that feels sophisticated, yet… I can't quite place my finger on it.
I really want to 'soup' up my car. Or is it 'sup' like 'super' up? I don't know. Is it 'soup' like 'stew'?
So I really look forward to getting a controller and using personall controls or something. But it feels right on the keyboard. I just can't quite play properly.
Yet there's something about that. Something about this game, this, this, simulation…
Love the graphical entity that it becomes when you see your high score. I really feel like a star. But I feel lonely.
I haven't fully explored the game so I'm not even sure if my review is particularly valid, or valuable. I just need to say this game, I want to buy it for all of my friends for Christmas. I just want to play it with them, & I honestly think it's worth the price of admission.
0.2 hours clocked and I jumped out to review it positively. I'm ready to jump back in & learn how to play properly. I'm seriously the worst at the moment.
Very good game, I had a lot of fun and the music is really good. Game looks really nice and developer listens to his fans. I recommend this game for sure. 10/10

I really like this little game, its not a Triple A game tittle if that’s what your after, but a good time waster that’s quick and fun to play with great visuals. It is in early access so there is a couple of issues but its still fun to play. And If you love your synth music, you have to get this. This is also created by a single person, so get in and support someone who is trying to generate a bit of fun in the world.
The game is awesome for killing time and listening to synthwave :D but i found a bug where the music just shuts off complitly after one song finished. PLS FIX other wise nice fun game.

巨大な顔が後方から迫ってくる"ナイトメアモード"が追加されました。
これは従来の"インフィニートドリームモード"と違いゆっくりと走ると顔に追い付かれてゲームオーバーになります。
つまりタイム制限のようなもので、レースゲーム色の強い内容となっています。
("Nightmare mode" in which a huge face comes closer from the back has been added.
Unlike the traditional "Infinito Dream Mode", if you run slowly you will catch up with the face and it will be a game over.
In other words, it is something like a time limit, and it has a strong content of the race game colors.)

■最後に攻略法(how to play)
慣れないうちはカーブが曲がり切れなかったり蛇行運転しがちになりますが上手く操作すれば綺麗にカーブを曲がれます。
(While you are not used to the operation you tend to drive meandering when you turn the curve, but if you operate it well you can bend the curve cleanly.)
ハンドルを回す時にニトロボタン（押し続ける）とドリフトボタン（スピン減速ボタン）を同時に押してください。
(Please press the nitro button(keep pressing) and spin deceleration button at the same time when turning a sharp angle curve.※There are two types of deceleration buttons, and the spin deceleration button is the one that does not back.)
そうすればドリフトが即座に発生してグリップが上がります。
(Then drift will occur instantaneously and the grip will rise.)
ニトロにはドリフト中の制御を向上させる機能があります。
(Nitro button has a function to increase controllability during drift.)
緩いカーブをドリフトで曲がる場合はドリフトが発生したらすぐにハンドルボタンを離すと良いです。
(If you bend a loose curve with drift, it is good to release the handle button as soon as drift occurs.)
ニトロは押したままにして下さい。
(Please keep nitro pressed.)
後はハンドルを切らなくても浅い角度でドリフトを維持したまま曲がり続けます。
(Afterwards it keeps bending keeping drift at a shallow angle without cutting the steering wheel.)
きついカーブを曲がる際は直前の減速が必要な場合もありますがドリフト発生時にハンドルを思いっきり切り続けることであまり減速しなくてもかなりの角度でも曲がれます。
(When turning a tight curve, it may be necessary to decelerate immediately before but you can bend even at a considerable angle even if you do not decelerate mostly by continuing to hold down the steering wheel when drift occurs.)
ニトロは押したままにして下さい。

ライフ回復はドリフト中に発生しますがニトロを押している時しか回復しません。

ドリフトボーナスはニトロを使わなくても滑っている時は発生し続けます。
（The drift bonus continues to occur when you are slipping without using nitro.）
従って左右に蛇行して滑らせると直線コースでもボーナスを伸ばし続けられます。
（So if you slide meandering to the left and right, you can continue to extend the bonus with straight lines.）

Neat little game here. Next to Rebel Galexy, this is a pretty fun and trippy game to play when under the influence. The Visuals are amazing and the music is good as always. So yeah, this is not a raceing game, it is more of a drifting game. You have to stay on the track and at times, if you fall off you cannot get back on. Huge bummer.
Wow what a game, it has what you need if your an asthetic junky like me! great car customization, awesome levels and music! only bug i found was that the music would end and not return, but other then that, MUST BUY!!!
