As of February 10th, 2025, the servers are up, and you can log in to the game without any issues.
A workaround for low FPS is to type "-EnableGRPC=false" in the launch options (without quotes).
The game itself isn't bad and can be quite entertaining. KK has a solid foundation with 5 classes of carts and around 10 laser-scanned tracks that you can race on with AI.
It would be awesome if another developer bought the project and continued its development.
KK usually doesn't go on sale (the studio has shut down), so it's up to you whether you want to buy it at full price or not.
runs like a bag of shite in vr. drops down to 30fps at random on a 4070ti super with a 7600x.

Je sais pas si ça ne concerne que moi, mais c'est:
- Soit je mets le jeu en minimal... et, évidemment, le jeu est assez moche (pourtant je suis le premier à pointer du doigt les gamers "lobotimiser aux graphismes")
- Soit je ne le fait pas, et le jeu lague! (Ce qui est très chiant pour un jeu de course, car ça peux vite devenir injouable à CHAQUE point de freinage) (Ce jeu a 6 ans, mon PC n'a même pas 1 an et fait tourner plus que correctement des jeux plus récent!)
Peut-être que le jeu est vraiment bien... mais j'ai vite jeter l'éponge!

I don't know if it's only me, but it's:
- - Either I put the game in minimal... And, obviously, the game is quite ugly (yet I'm the first to point the finger at gamers "lobotimizing by graphics")
- Either I don't, and the game lags! (Which is very annoying for a racing game, because it can quickly become unplayable at EVERY braking point) (This game is 6 years old, my PC is not even 1 year old and runs more than properly more recent games!)
Maybe the game is truly good... but I quickly threw in the towel!

Game has been problematic from the start, now it's completely unplayable and steam wont even issue a refund, absolute scam and needs to be removed from the steam store.

Game won't authenticate and you won't be able to play it. The developer doesn't give a damn about it. Standard Motorsport Games experience.

Game with lots of promise, killed by publisher. Cannot even open now due to them taking server s ofline. Very dissapointed.

This game was abandoned and since there is no offline, and the servers are not working, the game is unplayable.

This game runs like shit on good hardware! Do not buy this game if you want seamless experience, you will spend half the time editing the graphics settings and everything else. Me and my friends tested the game on all of our systems and it ran so poorly and the worst thing of all was that I was unable to refund this game because we had spent way to much time trying to get good fps in this game. It is a such a letdown...

So i played the game about a year maybe year and a half ago where it was buggy to the point you can't play it at times. I can back to it just today and hopped the fixed some things but nope just as bad as ever.
To start off the game would be fun if it ran properly. For me i got "lucky it was only random lag spikes from a consistent 120fps at all time to a always 17-18fps out of nowhere and for no reason at all for about 30 seconds. To top it off no matter what graphics quality you use this still happens, on ultra high or very low.
If they fixed this i will change my review.
I wish I had never bought this game as it is not even getting maintenance patches anymore. Lots of people are having startup issues. For me I get stuck on the loading screen when it says 'loading cloud document manager' and I cant find a fix. Gutted.
By far the most realistic kart simulator available. Its a real pity that development seems to have stopped and it would amazing if the developers could keep it going!
The sim karting is incredible. I have enough information through force feedback and realistic physics to race this kart just like I would at my hometown track.
However, the online play seems nonexistent. It's not going to keep my attention for long without others to race.
I recommend for those who can want to race a kart and don't care about online multiplayer.
Was a good game, it started well as a good karting sim with a solid base on real go-karts dynamics; really edgy, quite snappy and positive steering.
The development of the game stopped in 2022/2023 if I'm not mistaken, so this is stil an early access game, fully priced.
While in early access, when I bought it, a lot of stuff was promised but, as soon as Motorsport Games acquired the rights, everything just sank into a black hole, as happened to most of the stuff they acquired.
It was fun, even as a hotlap simulator; just lets not start talking about the online and AI features, probably a stackoverflow copypaste. As I said before, the core itself seemed quite solid.
Now in 2024 I would highly discourage to buy this product, as it's buggy, laggy and honestly unplayeable; I don't know what they did with the latest release but, apart from breaking the leaderboard system (the only thing that was keeping up the fun for me), it just lags even on the startup menu. No way to make it run even at 30fps for some reason.
Well, it's sad for me to say, as I was really into it when it came out, but avoid, even on discount.
KartKraft is probably the best looking sim karting available right now - even on mid settings it looks better than Kart Racing Pro or rFactor2. AMS2 might look as good if not better, but IMO it doesn't have the most convincing kart feel. Unlike Kart Racing Pro, KartKraft has working AI to race against. Also unlike Kart Racing Pro, it doesn't have working multiplayer. Both KartKraft and Kart Racing Pro have better kart feel than AMS2 or rFactor2. Both of them also have a fairly limited selection of karts. Kart Racing Pro has a more detailed simulation in many ways, but this game's feedback feels a bit more believable than KRP in many ways, so it still feels worthy of being called a sim despite not simulating things like tire degradation and tire temperature-related grip changes.
If you are an obsessive sim racing weirdo and are looking for more karting content and don't mind it being a singleplayer-only experience (I am in this category) then I think this game is worth the $25(USD) they want for it. If you are *not* in this category then I think you are safe skipping this game.
If you are trying to decide between this and Kart Racing Pro, get this if you care about graphics and AI, get KRP if you care more about online multiplayer and tire simulation. KRP has dozens of free tracks made by the community, but many of those tracks are poorly made in ways that make them very unpleasant to drive. KRP has more track configs overall, but KartKraft has Atlanta Motorsports Park which is one of the coolest kart tracks in North America.
That said, rFactor 2 also has the AMP kart track and their kart sim is good enough so if you already have rFactor2 you should think about just getting the karts and some kart tracks for it (this game has somewhat better kart feel but rFactor's isn't terrible and it simulates things like tire temperature and deg).
Summary: I recommended this game because I enjoy it, but I'm an obsessive sim racing weirdo who loves karting. If that's not you then idk if you should waste your time with this game.
Support for the game has seemingly been dropper, i do really enjoy the physics and the graphics but in it's current state there are issues, and not much content, 25$ for a game that has stopped getting updates and is 7 years old is a bit of a steep price.

Tracks are great karts are great graphics are great wish somebody would and turn it into something like iRacing for karts. I believe they scanned tracks like iRacing does. I would be great to have American tracks like K1, DKC, AMR, Orlando, Trackhouse, New Castle, G&J, Pitt Race, and Lorain Ohio Kartplex.

Unplayable. So much lag that it's painful. I turned down the graphics so much that it looked like a game from the 90s. Still lagging. I've never had any game do this before, 10th genI7, RTX3060, 16GB RAM so not the weakest config. Very disappointing, I can't comment on the content because there's no point in dealing with it. I'm an experienced kart racer, I wanted to teach my son the basics before I let him go to the racetrack.
It is a good sim in general if you are working on your karting skills but it has some cons such as frequent quality problems. it has my home track too
Get some better graphics or someone tell me how to keep one resolution. It keeps going back and fourth between good and smooth too potato graphics and laggy and i cant play this game like this. someone message me and help me

The performance isn't there. With a top end PC I can't get the game to run on medium settings unfortunately.
shit game, shure the graphics are great but the physics are absolute dogshit. as a professional karting driver racing among the best in the world i do not recomend this game to anyone looking for a REALISTIC kart simulator.
I dont know why but every 5 seconds the games fps would go lower than my PS2. that really effected the handling (not worth the £20)
