great game
Someone tell Bob that he can cook another cake while the first one is baking. Good game, art style reminds me of old flash games
Very good game series. Wish there were more of these or type of game. Can play this type of game for hours!!!
I got this game one day when I was feeling nostalgic and remembering how much I enjoyed playing Cake Mania as a youngster. I think that the game is definitely replicating the basics of cake mania which was what I was looking for, however
I did end up getting bored quite quickly and frustrated with a unsatisfactory feeling. I am not sure if this is due to my expectations not living up to my fond memories of a childhood favourite game. Some points specifically I would highlight for improvement would be:
- The levels I played were very very easy and I was perfecting each level I played, so did not feel much challenge.
- The items were therefore too easy to purchase and I maxed them within the time that I played.
- I felt like I had played too long in the same stage, maybe more visual progression or bringing in a new stage earlier would have felt more satisfying.
- I felt the overall progression of the game forced me into a heavily structured direction without giving me an option to go for different strategies. By this I mean the upgrades could have had more customisation, or could have had different routes to progress such as financial benefits, character upgrades, speed upgrades, aesthetic upgrades etc
To sum my review of Katy and Bob: Cake Café - Had fun for and hour, won't be playing it again. I would've preferred to play Cake Mania but it was 69p, so thought screw it lets be crazy. If you think around an hour of gameplay is worth £0.69 then this is the game for you. x
