2025 and this game is a mess. Unbalanced, some sorta rodent attacks the barrels and then you cant access them, staff walks too the edge of the screen and stand there indefinitly, you fire them and they just keep standing there leeching your money. Characters go on missions and dont come back. Buy plates and mugs, never too arrive. Its a dumpster fire of a game, dont buy...and its a shame because it had so much potential...apparently theyre coming out with Crossroads Inn 2 and to be honest I hope nobody buys it even if its good...they never bothered fixing this one after all these years.
Xbox users...this game is trash on that platform also.

Dev has dropped this game in an unplayable state. Has been in EA since 2020. Now announce Crossroads 2? Cash grab. If you cannot fix your first game (kick starter, EA, Season Pass, Anniversary Edition) Then give us our money back or give us Cross Roads 2 for free.
The game got stuck in the very beginning. I tried out numerous times but it still had the same issue.

An exercise in futility. The biggest way the developer could have established a game loop is to have staff in your tavern, when hired, be able to serve customers; I often simply found half of my staff lost or literally doing nothing or smoking. I don't know if it's bugged or if the authors really wanted to incentivize hiring characters who have none of several traits that make employees nearly unable to work (chaotic, lazy, slacker, smoker, and drunkard are all separate traits).
Whatever happened, I deeply wanted to like this game. The addition of erotic elements to a nice art style -- incluing a spa room at high levels - seemed like just what I needed. So, so many of the basic quality of life features of indirect control/resource games are missing here -- resource location, being able to restrict jobs and locations (this is bugged), a transparent way to see which specific activities you're forbidding when you forbid a class of activities. It is also, just, yes, buggy.
Pay attention to the reviews. I spent several hours on the tutorial and was not even through the second of three acts of it. I woul have loved to dive into this game - I adore resource management, western RPGs, designing buildings, and erotic games - but due to a combination of bugs and incredibly loose gameplay loops I just got frustrated. Nothing else promises everything this game does, but if the game does happen to deliver on its promises eventually, it would take more effort than I wanted to give.
I'm not here to run a tavern and hate my employees, my ledger, and every way of interacting with the world; just not my idea of a good time. This is an excellent idea of a game that was ruined by shoddy execution.
I've purchased the game in 2020, but didn't manage to play it up until now. Now I found out that it's abandoned since years. Imo it shouldn't be in the store anymore, because more people will purchase it, just to wake up to a bug ridden beta version of a game, with unsolvable issues. Why the devs did this is puzzling me. Why work on a new game, if you didn't finish the first one? Why did you let your project that you spent obviously a lot of time on, go down like that?
Well they started working on crossroads Inn 2...when they didn't even finish crossroads Inn! Yea stay away, far away from this developer.
Game is a buggy mess since the latest patch. Workers randomly won't wash dishes, restock shelves, fill candles etc. I don't know what happened since the game used to work fine.

Game bugs still after update. Making it hard to enjoy or progress
I really like the game as it's a nice relaxing game to play when I'm in the mood. However, the game does have it's problems it is plagued with bugs and the dev's have stopped trying to fix it. I haven't personally run into any game breaking bugs but that doesn't mean the game doesn't have any. So take that for what you will.
Very in depth. Great written campaign. Cozy game.

My Autumn Tradition
Crossroads Inn is one of those games that keeps calling me back. Every autumn, as the air turns crisp and the leaves start to fall, I find myself yearning for the warmth and charm of my bustling little tavern. The combination of running a medieval inn, managing resources, and interacting with quirky characters fits the cozy season perfectly. It's like a ritual now—I fire up the game, get lost in the rhythm of serving guests, brewing ale, and expanding my inn.
Its a bit buggy, but its very fun. Saw it on Let's Game It Out!
As I'm sure you've read in plenty of the other reviews, yes this game does come with several "bugs". However, the reviews claiming that the game isn't playable at all just simply aren't true. I have a basic "run-of-the-mill" laptop that's not designed for gaming (it's a Lenovo Ideapad 3-15ITL6 for anyone that's curious) and the game runs just fine on it - with the exception of some flaws/glitches with graphics here & there.
I don't have any kind of 3rd party modifications added to my game & have enjoyed many hours playing so far with minimal issues. It has crashed on me a couple times, but that doesn't happen often. When I do experience any sort of glitch, bug, or freeze a quick & easy fix that works for me is accessing the menu using the ESC key, saving the game & re-loading from that save file which almost always resolves the issue.
Other than dealing with/working around the occasional bugs, it's a fun game with countless hours of enjoyable gameplay which makes me excited for when the developers finish & release Crossroads Inn 2. Considering how often this game is on sale for less $5 & the fact it still runs fairly well on non-gaming laptops with basic systems I recommend ignoring the angry "don't waste your money" "this game doesn't even work" comments & have fun playing through the different storylines while also building, designing, & running your own medieval inn.
Great concept, good visuals, and a fun experience when it all works, but the bugs have been a major issue since Early Access, and they've only added more since then.
Since early access, the game has also become hornier over time. Prostitution was always part of the game, but at some point over the years it seemed to become much more of a focus. I suspect the game-breaking bugs were driving more serious players away, while gooners are able to look past a lot more flaws in the games they play, so long as they can achieve their quest for polygonal debauchery. So the devs catered to the audience that stuck around. But that's just a theory.
It's a shame, because (despite the salacious shift in tone) if they'd only fix the bugs it would be an easy recommendation for fans of tavern sims and farming games. It has enough going for it that it's worth trying if you can find it on sale for $5 or less, but you will inevitably encounter the same frustrating bugs that eventually drive everyone away.
This game appears to be abandoned and is still haunted by bugs which appears to have been reported 3 years ago. Especially in the campaign.
Crashes frequently or locks up and will have to be restarted due to weird guest behaviors.
This is literally the worst game from the worst dev company ever. After playing games for over 30 years that's saying someathing. Stay clear of these people. They will take your money, release an unplayable, completely broken and buggy product and ban you from discussions if you don't like it. No refunds. Pure scam.

The developer abandoned this game with massive active bugs because they weren't good enough programmers to fix them.
This sounds like I'm joking or being internet-mad, but the last major update (https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/867290/view/3689054062171831624?l=english) genuinely says "sorry, the engine is too crappy to fix any more."
This is nonsense, for what it is worth. There are basic pathing and utilization issues, the sorts of bugs in this game were mostly solved problems back in the 90s. Klabater simply was too incompetent and unmotivated to put in the work.
Buyer beware on everything else they ever create: They are more than happy to abandon you if they feel like they've made enough money.
its fine i just play a little when im bored but usually i uninstall it after playing. its not worth the $15 so just wait for a sale otherwise its a fun game to play if you dont mind some bugs here and there.
I was on the fence about getting this game, mainly due to the many reviews stating it was an unplayable mess of bugs, crashes and glitches. Now, its definately playable, but you will encounter your fair share of bugs and glitches, possibly even crashes. But for me the game only (!) crashed twice over 60 hours. Even with its faults this has still been the best tavern management game Ive ever played and I absolutely recommend it.
