NICE GAME
I played old Tank game with my father back in the day when i saw it in steam i was so happy this game is one my favorite games
HD 2D remaster/remake of the NES/Famicom classic "Battle Tank" which I used to play and enjoy when I was about 6 years old.
The 2-player mode was especially fun, with the ability to make your own levels.
With nowadays technology, we can actually save those too!
The game is now free to play, so there's no reason not to grab it if you're keen on retro-style games.
its a fun, fully enjoyable family game for all ages and we as one really enjoy this action filled game that reminds us old folks of the great past we once had. level 3 a pain in the pumpernickel tho.
It is an ok game, but the fun is quickly gone after beating all the levels, because later the levels just repeat. There should be more levels. Also, the movement feels somehow more clunky than the original Tanks 1990 game - it's hard to make corner somehow. Had fun with gf playing 2 players mode. Would recommend if above problems were addressed.
Ready Player One
pure nostalgia in a great edition
Just as good as I remember it from my childhood. It's fun to play in 2 on the couch on tv (connected to PC) with gamepads.
It's not the classic battle city. Similarities are pure coincidence. Should they be a lawyer for Namco. Then please leave. There's not that way to see here. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Best tank game on steam
Tanks (aka Battle City) is awesome game and I am very happy I have found this remake. It allowed us to play this awesome game on modern computer without strugling with emulators roms etc.
But you have to be aware that author added some little changes. Some of them are great but some of them make this game only one evening entertain with broken original Tanks experience.
First of all: tanks in this game might get really overboosted! After getting about five stars your tank gets bullet proof for one (or two) hits (you can even see it in trailer at 0:39 ) and even if you die you respawn with already partialy busted tank. This is one of the mechanics which destroys feeling of classical Tanks where you have to be aware and careful all the time because even when you had top tank one kill did killed you and you respawned to basic tank.
There is also one other mechanic which at first looked awesome but was over used and it destroyed game completly. It is Counterattack. One of downsides of classic Tanks was that one player lost all his lives it was out of game. With Counterattack player that lost his last life gets one free live when other player defeats level and this is awesome! ... Unfortunatley it turned out that when both players lost their lives you still have Counterattack for both players!!! It basicaly mean that you have unlimited attempts to beat any level so with nothing to loose simplest strategy is just to rush enemies ... this is not original Tanks spirit :/
We have completed this game in first eventing. We played it one other evening and thats it. There was no more reason to play. With classic Tanks on Nes we had entertain for many evenings and as far as I remember we never managed to finish it.
To sum up: Game graphicaly was re-created with 100% nostalgia perfection ... nostalgia experience was ruined by over-boosting some good ideas.
It certainly takes me back to my childhood days. Ahhh the sweet sweet memories.
Reminds me of the games I playes when I was a kid!

I really can't understand why this game is not much more popular. This is the tanks 1990 game in atari that we used to play when we were children. Everything is same, game price is not high, i am so happy to find this game in store. I want to mention some cons which are not very crucial actually.
1) The apperance of user's base level tank (without getting any stars) should be the same with its picture at right frame. Our tanks seems like more bulky than the original version. It should be more round shaped. I don't understand why they need to change it. I believe this can be fixed easily.
2) Generic usb controllers can not be used in this game.
3) There should be a mode where cpu's tanks also can get the items. (star, duck, jet, etc) It was so fun years ago when i play that mode in atari. I really recommend developer to add this as an option in to the game.
My childhood is finaly restored! Love this game, I hardly beat up lvl 1 haha!
If you are an Atatri player then you should have played this game on it for sure as 90Tank or Tanks 1990. Its same as that game was, brings back memories of that era. The airstrike effect is awesome. If you finding a basic coop game that doesn't require high-end PC nor does require other player to have game, then you should buy this.
Just recommended. Same game from NES but with some cosmetic improvements.
Editor is here and in this version of the game you can made complete campaign with several levels!

damn i feel bad for buying this on sale, worth the full price. brings me back to the NES days!
The game is just awesome! Must have for Oktoberfest parties! Finally I can create a list of my own levels and play it! Feels much more satisfying than original Battle City (which is of course also a very good game).
