Описание

“Memory is an oddly circuitous thing, often dancing in its own circles. A snake perpetually eating its own tail. We can sometimes swear we’ve seen something before, in another life. Echoes of another existence, so familiar and yet…we’ve never been here before, have we?”

A man embarks on a journey toward the top of a mountain, to discover the truth of his existence. Along the way, he ponders the nature of life itself. Drizzlepath: Deja Vu is a spiritual revisitation of Tonguç Bodur's very first game, Drizzlepath. Not so much a remake as a re-envisioning, as well as a celebration of the many games he has made since.

  • A relaxing “walking simulator”, in which events are triggered not through interaction with objects, but through exploring
  • Tonguç Bodur’s tenth game on Steam, and a homage to his very first game from 2015
  • Neither a sequel nor a remake, but a standalone experience with bonus in-references for those familiar with his earlier games
  • Professional voice narration, atmospheric sound design, and a dynamic music score
  • A playtime of thirty to sixty minutes, with a thorough playthrough required to discover all of the game’s secrets
  • A single sprawling level, broken up into several save points
  • A rich and thought-provoking narrative, co-written by Bottle: Pilgrim and Nephise: Ascension author Michael Bowser

Save progression: The game saves your progression at each checkpoint location automatically. When it is saved, an icon appears at the top corner of the screen.

PS: The core aspect of this game is the atmosphere. It is recommended for those who mostly seek to experience the mood.

Drizzlepath: Deja Vu - A Journey of Solitude and Reflection

Drizzlepath: Deja Vu is my first foray into the atmospheric walking simulator genre, and it delivered a mixed but intriguing experience. The game immerse you in its world, with stunning graphics when played on ultra settings and high FPS. The visuals, particularly the magnificent clouds, are mesmerizing and help create a deeply atmospheric environment. Combined with the serene yet slightly melancholic narration, the game captures the essence of wandering alone in nature, searching for meaning and origin.

          Pros:
+Magnificent Atmosphere: The clouds and overall weather effects bring the game’s world to life, making you feel as though you’re truly outside.
+Authentic Feel: It captures the solitude of walking through nature while lost in thought.
+Nice Narration: The voice acting has a soothing quality that complements the meditative tone of the game.

          Cons:
-Repetitive Sounds: The footsteps grow monotonous over time, detracting from the immersive experience.
-Weak Wordplay: The narration, while atmospheric, could benefit from more poetic or impactful phrasing.
-Morbid Figures & Blood Rain: The use of morbid imagery felt jarring and lacked the subtlety the game’s tone seemed to strive for.
-Inactive Fireflies: Fireflies and other natural elements felt static.
-Lack of Dynamic Wind: The stillness of the wind undercut the natural vibe the game aimed for. (A more dynamic wind would have been perfect!)
-Awkward Movement: The character’s movement lacked fluidity, which occasionally broke the immersion.

          Overall Impression:
Drizzlepath: Deja Vu is a game with a clear vision: to recreate the feeling of walking in nature while engaging in introspection. It succeeds in crafting a rich atmosphere and striking visuals, but some aspects of its execution, such as the repetitive sounds and stiff movement, leave room for improvement. For those looking for a contemplative and serene walking simulator, it’s worth exploring. Just don’t expect a flawless experience.

Nica and relaxing walking simulator with nice views and interesting animal (and weirdo) encounters.

"The wordiness of the narrations leaves one to believe that their meaning is vapid."

Meh...if you want pretty pictures for a few bucks, have fun. I'd wait for it to go on sale, though.
