***The new version will be published in this end of month(SEP)***
This is a 3rd-person simulation sandbox game and it is created with UE4 engine.
You are a munitions manufacturer in 1930s. The war is going to break everywhere in the world. Help your nation for arms race. Before the war begins, you need to use the basic resources provided by the nation efficiently in order to produce enough aircraft, tanks, guns and anything that could be used in the war.
For these purposes, you have to build various types of factories and transits, organize the production line, test and develop the new weapon, train skilled works, defend enemy'd bombing and pry information.
Hello everyone:
There is no official website now. My email: [email protected]
After 22 months hard work, we rebuild . This is a brand new product right now. We added lots of gameplay, improved graphic and did much more works than before. But new would not be published as a new game, it provide a patch to update.

game abandoned
interesting, good idea. need some optimising
Good game, looking forward to the engine.
First I like it, i like the idea it has and I hope it will eventually show all the flaws of maintaining a warmachine during this time.
Since this is early access, I am not going to do pros and cons, because its not fair.
It is presented at this time in sandbox mode, so building cost nothing , and there is no demand for anything, but this is a good thing because it does take a long time to get your ducks in a row with this game, i would hate to be under a pressure of a demand, for instance it took me two years of game time to finally get a rifle factory going, why because how to place rail, assign them tasks, and which ones, heavy rail or regular rail needed to be learned. though you do not mine anything you still have to tell the trains what you need brought in.
This is not s pretty game and it reflects the grit and grime of factories.
I don't like the conveyor belts, they are a cheat to me, I hope they are temp and Eric will have truck transport or something to replace them, and they are not used extensively in this time in history.
I never had the game lockup but did run into bugs that made me restart the game.
Bug; menu sticks to mouse and moves around and wont paste down, present solution, restart game.
Blue prints don't show building information anymore , restart game.
rails don't connect right , delete rails and try again be aware of curve radius.
Forge wont transport iron to steel fabrication building, solution you have to use the dedicated door and the heavy rail to transport all smelted metal.
Train not importing materials you want, click on train your probably did not tell it too, i know i did I forgot to ask for rare ore , thought it was a bug then checked the train.
chemical factory makes oxygen it is not imported
forges make a lot of material so one forge for every major metal should be enough for the game at this stage of play.
if you like space chem, factorio, big pharma or those type of games the sandbox mode is entertaining as it is in those game also. the game is rough though but has huge potential and I bought it to support an artist that put alot of heart and soul in it so far. I am not a programmer so i have no way to tell if the game should be farther along or not.
it is a bold dream to bring about and i hope it keeps going.
For this price I know I will get enough entertainment with the sandbox to justify my out go.
Now that I kinda know what I am doing I am going to try and make something bigger a fighter plane or a tank.
This is far more primitive than factorio, because well 1930 was pretty primitive, so be prepared for nothing coming out easy.
I recommend you support this publisher by buying his Game
This idea of having a game that takes place in a time where nations are at war is a fantastic idea in my opinion. The game is very FAR from being a great one. It has such high potential and I would like to make suggestions to the developers about where they can improve. The game recently just got a new User interface update and I must say that update looks fabulous compared to the older one. However before they updated this UI they had rebuilt the way the traffic system works and in my opinion made it just alittle more complicated then what it used to be! Of course writing this review is probably my only way of suggesting ideas to the Dev.. But for those out there that are looking for a great game from world war II, then this will be the game for you! Its extremely time consuming, but its not boring in anyway!
As far as the suggestions Go from what I have seen, There are a few bugs around where the blue print and product buttons are as far as SPG and tank destroyer blue prints, They just do not show up there. The game could use abit better lighting for the whole screen as well as more buildings and things to build.. Perhaps even adding more transport abilities for traffic like trucks that go from one building to the next rather then rails all over the map. Also the tutorial lacks alot of information, Like how this new port/panel management system or commonly preferred to as Traffic logistics by the devs is confusing if you have never played the game before.
Thats All I got, I will say though I do recommend this game for those that are looking for something quite time consuming.
Game is no longer being developed.
Factorio rip off, also HUD is awful.
I do recommend this game, but to be honest, this product is not ready for release. At this point, I don't believe the game is worth the $15, unless you're into donating to very early products. The belts don't snap together most of the time - and that is the most frustrating part of all. There's also no way to merge belts - maybe that will be fixed later. If you spend even a modicum of time tinkering with the game, you can figure out how it's supposed to work. This is a great concept, it just needs a lot of the kinks worked out.
Hi all,
First off, I want to make clear that this game is in Early Access and is still under development.
I like the game, and despite the bugs, its still fun and I could easily spend hous playing. Its about producing things for wartime needs and is set in second world war era. You need to produce things like tanks, planes, vehicles, weapons, and all the parts and materials that will be needed to produce these items.
This game has great potential, I just hope the dev will continue working on it until its finished. I already have nearly an hour of gameplay for every dollar I spent, and will easily surpass. So its a big thumbs up for me!
No real tutorial or in-game guidance on how to create these assembly lines... This game isn't ready for my money yet.
After two years of nothing happening to the game I thought it was dead and the people making the game left but recently it had a big update that changed a lot about the game some things for the better for example now instead of using mine carts and rails to transport the materials you now place roads. I find this to be good because now I don't have to worry about running out of space when connecting up the buildings and gives me more freedom to design my factory complex. The map looks more lively and colourful instead of a flat boring desert. the introduction of more mechanics for example energy and workers add a layer of complexity as now your limited to how many workers you got, however it's not an issue as the dormitory are cheep to build and upgrade. some bad things about the game is that the air raid siren is pretty loud, the technology tree needs some form of notification for when you can buy the technology and what it will do. I hope that the game does well and the dev/s continue to update the game and add more interesting mechanics to the game.
This is the first game I bought from Steam since I have time to play computer game after my examination(...mark....).I like the subject of World war 2. for this game, it is not the trational shooting and running game related to the war. Therefore, I like the idea of producing arms for the war. After I read from the previous reviews, I understand that this game is not a full version. At first, this game is a little difficult for a beginer and it takes me some time to pass the tutorial. but once you have acquired the skills of building and setting, you will find it some kind of fun to build the factories, set the ports correctly, make the blueprints of the factories. Even though it is not the final version, I would like to support the developer to upgrade the game and expecting the final version. I believe the mission target should be more than this, and hope to see a better UI.
I honestly had high hopes for this game, but it is lacking of any guidance to assist noobs, and is very confusing. Hopefully I can come back eventually and change this Negative review to a positive! :)
In the short time I have had this game Ive easily been able to guage what an utter POS it is. There is little to no thought put into the game. No description, advice or instruction upon start up....and the "help" menu pops up repeatedly while youre trying to do other things. The game seems like it might have been made by 5th grade special ed kids. There are stupid spelling mistakes and grammatical errors throughhout the menus. This just reminds me of why I NEVER by early access games. Utter shite and I think the full version probably wont be so far off from this one. Save your money and buy Factorio.
Great idea with ww2 arms race style game. Will be good to see future developments on this game. It is a good start to possibly an awesome game style and competitive game play.
I don't recommend it, even for an early access game it is poorly developed and unfinished.
TL/DR: Early access game is not worth your time and money.
I cannot in good concious recomend this game, if you could call it one, at this time. Reasons listed below:
1. No Tutorial:
Lack of a write up clearly explaining how to play is non-existent. There is some arbitrary help screen that pops up every single time you click on something granted, however the screens which pop up, do not explain anything about what you have clicked on. The help screen that comes up isn't related at all to the function you are trying to perform.
2. No defined objective: Clicking 'New Game' launches you into some random dirt plot, presumably in a post apocalytpic England. The game should then give you some basic objective to get you started, but all you get instead is a clunky user interface and an irritating, poorly written, help screen. "Make stuff" is not a solid enough objective.
3. Price: I purchased this at $14 (US) when it is hardly worth $5 as it is.
4. Lack of end user options: There is an options screen on the main menu granted, but clicking on it and expecting to see actual options is an effort in futility.
I spent 5 minutes in the program and could not understand anything. Within the first 5 to 10 minutes of a game, a player should have, at the very least, access to 5 points"
1. An introduction to the game mechanics.
2. A clearly defined objective.
3. Access to end user options to adjust settings
4. A visually represented understanding of how to proceed in the game.
5. A clearly written guide.
A user should not have to navigate what is essentially the developers whiteboard notes in order to play the game. These are concepts that should already be fleshed out before allowing access. If anything, this should be offerred in a closed ALPHA, not a buyable Alpha. I have asked for a refund as I cannot and will not, financially support a game that does not have the very basics available.
First off, I understand that some may have the feeling that's just a Factorio ripoff or similar, and/or getting annoyed about the grafical style "problems".
I, however, don't have any of them thoughts. I rather see Factorio as the Grandfather wo inspired others.
So, about the Game: (if you're looking for an easy arcade-like game, then this game is nothing for you)
You're tasked to support your Nation in the World War 2. At the Moment there is just the United Kingdom.
But there will be more, for what i've read it will be the major Nation from WW2.
At this stage of Development you can actually do a lot ingame, that will keep you busy for hours.
Build Tanks/ Planes/ Guns and Equipment like Radars. But don't think this will be easy.
Want to Produce a simple Rifle? Be prepared to think and build out your production-line in the next hour or two.
And don't forget the Bullets, best to make sure you don't have anything other to do tonight. ;P
For now there's only a small tutorial in Text from. But don't get scared, you would be overwhelmed anyway.
Just take your time and look through the available blueprints and you start bilding in no time.
The grafik is not that of an AAA Title, it's still an early access an will change.
And remember it's an EARLY ACCESS, sometimes ther will be a bug or two.
Read the "Early Access-Game" info box to find out about the future development plans for the game. :)
so lets start off with the fact that you cant click anything in the game even changed the graphics settings after some time of screwing with the mouse cant even play the game the whole bottom of the screen you cant even get the mouse to it everything is about 10 feet from the icon so to click on yes you have to bring the mouse to the other side of the scrren while the icon is on the other nothing is settings even helped bought this game not even 5 min ago an i am getting my money back DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
I originally gave this game a rather dissenting review that I've left below this new one. Given that the game has received a significant update, I thought I'd give it another go to see if it could test my attention span a bit better than last time.
National Machine is a construction and management game based during an arms race leading up to World War II. You get to choose to play as a number of nations involved in the war, and are tasked with providing munitions for the war effort.
The game has seen significant improvements to the UI, which is much more user friendly than before. I wasn't getting stressed out trying to find things and the inclusion of a few shortcuts and general interface improvements, along with a few graphical ones, have made the experience much smoother than before.
Although the game only contains a sandbox mode for now, I was encouraged by the enthusiasm of wanting to build up my site without any direct objective given, which was a stark contrast to the frustrated meddling I experienced when I first played this 2 years ago.
There isn't much more to add, but the game is certainly in a better position than it was, so for that I give credit to the rather constricted developers who have persevered with this game as a labour of love.
If the game continues to improve the way it has, I am hopeful for what it will become.
Original review:
I made an aimless dive into a poorly adapted factory-line simulator based in an historical World War II setting, and should honestly have been prepared for the level of quality the first release of an early access game (presumably made by one person, so I don't wish to be coming across as cynical) with an ambitious spin on a the success of the concept of niche game Factorio, could uphold.
I enjoy the setting, and the idea of producing munitions for nations involved in World War II, (which as far as I know is limited to the United Kingdom at this point of writing) is certainly a good concept, a lot can be fleshed out with this beyond the current sandbox-style gameplay, an awful lot.
The game does not have a mission or progression system, let alone any demonstration of context in your "arms race"; no goals, no aims, no progression: certainly no feel of the arms race that the game is centered on. As the player you're hastily thrown into an inspired map design of a wasteland that is quite indicative of a country who has failed their arms race and succumbed to the power of nuclear weapons. So, besides the jarring setting, you're left with a basic UI with little to no explanation on anything you are supposed to do, the game only underlines the barebones functionality of the miriad of structures that can be built, such as "CokeOvens" which sound rather intriguing. If you click around enough you'll find yourself with a finite stockpile of questionably named resources which can be used for the production of munitions and vehicles (something I have not yet managed to accomplish) and such resources that are far more effective than coal and oil: replaced with the decidely unconventional supplements provided by mainstream Class A drugs, "coke" and sexual stimulants, "lube", along with some clicking of buttons the game cant help but throw the same sordid lines of broken English along with other enigmatic explanations that somehow surmise a "Helper", no tutorials needed when conducting your own war machine, at least the ideals of British stoicism were an obvious philosophy behind the gameplay of National Machine (referenced as Nation Machine in-game).
Despite this, if the developer(s) can stick with this game, give it more of an actual gameplay, particularly so the player actually has any idea on what to do, with some sort of aim at least, Nation(al) Machine may become a decent product.
Presently, it is reminiscent of an overly ambitious college project that has more time put into the documentation of the project than it has for its very development.
Avoid this game until it becomes a "game" and not a primitive dev build, which I hope does happen.
PS: As a reply to Eric Sun's kind response, I've edited it into the review because I wrote far too much :D.
Hi Eric.
I appreciate the response, and I can also appreciate the truth in you saying that just because a game is an "Early Access Game" it does not qualify as a valid reason toward some players not liking [them].
It is also true that a common preconception has developed over the purpose behind these "Early Access Game" products as being potentially wasteful to invest into because of the level of quality that has not been provided - or at the expected idea of progress that the term Early Access would suggest - even addressed, as it should be with an "Early Access Game", but instead abandoned.
There are many promising games in concept that have been: ex. StarMade, Godus, Spacebase DF-9 all in varying levels of final quality, whether the devs let them collapse under their weight of overambitious game design, or just dismissed the projects, both reasons have largely encouraged the idea, making those who would otherwise invest in them (players) form a cynical weariness for "Early Access Game" avoid the risk of wasting money.
I don't believe your concept with National Machine has the risk of failing to achieve its aims as much as the games I listed, as the idea of competing in an arms race for your nation to win the war is reasonable: it is a good idea, but it isn't No Man's Sky.
I think it is a great concept that focuses on a part of history of conflict; those who supply the entire war effort. I love it in fact. If it were executed well in National Machine, I believe it would certainly give a lot more substance to the product, making it become more of a game than a tech demo.
National Machine's current state of quality that would suggest that you, as the developer, were either rushed into releasing it at a time where you were not ready, or you didn't care either way.
My first impression with the game has been shoddy, but that doesn't mean everything.
So, I hope it is as much of a passion project for you to be able to make it into something that lives up to its store page description and hopefully its promising ambition, as much as many would want to enjoy it (myself included).
My best wishes to yourself and your team,
Kane
